Norman Mark Reedus (born January 6, 1969) is an American actor. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Murphy MacManus in the 1999 film The Boondock Saints as well as its 2009 sequel The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day and for the character of Daryl Dixon in the AMC television series The Walking Dead. He has also directed several videos and modeled for various fashion designers.
Reedus was born on January 6, 1969 in Hollywood, Florida and months later moved to Los Angeles, California. He also spent some time living in Japan, England and Spain.
While in Los Angeles, he worked at a Harley Davidson shop in Venice and at the same time contributed artwork to various shows as a painter, photographer, sculptor, and video artist. He got his first taste of acting in the play Maps for Drowners at the Tiffany Theater on Sunset Boulevard. He was first discovered at a party in Los Angeles where he started screaming with giant sunglasses on, until someone asked if he wanted to be in a play.
His first film was in 1997 the Guillermo del Toro horror thriller film Mimic, where he played the character Jeremy. He was 28 at the time. He has also played roles in the films Floating, Six Ways to Sunday, Deuces Wild, Blade II, Gossip, 8mm, American Gangster, Hero Wanted and Moscow Chill. In 2005 he had a bit-part in the Christian Alvart German film Antibodies as a German Polizist (policeman). In 2008 he starred in the film Red Canyon as the character of Mac.
Andrew Lincoln (born Andrew James Clutterbuck; 14 September 1973) is an English actor, known for his roles in the TV series This Life, Teachers, Strike Back and Afterlife, and the films Love Actually and Heartbreaker. He currently stars as Rick Grimes in the AMC television series The Walking Dead.
Lincoln was born in London to a South African mother, a nurse, and an English father, a civil engineer. He grew up in Hull and moved to Bath at the age of ten. After leaving Beechen Cliff School, he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), where he changed his name from Clutterbuck to Lincoln. He grew up with an older brother called Richard Clutterbuck, who is the founding head of Bristol Free School in 2011.
Lincoln made his first on-screen appearance in "Births and Deaths", a 1994 episode of Channel 4 sitcom Drop the Dead Donkey.
His first major role was Edgar "Egg" Cook, one of the lead characters in the highly successful BBC drama This Life (1996–1997). He went on to star as probationary teacher Simon Casey in the Channel 4 sitcom Teachers (2001–2003), and had a lead role as university lecturer and psychologist Robert Bridge in Afterlife (2005).
Michael Rooker (born April 6, 1955) is an American actor. He currently stars as Merle Dixon in the AMC television series The Walking Dead based on the comic book series of the same name.
Rooker, who has eight brothers and sisters, was born in Jasper, Alabama and studied at the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago, where he moved with his mother and siblings at the age of thirteen, after his parents divorced.
He made his film debut in 1986 playing the title role in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, a film based on the confessions of serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. He has since appeared in numerous films over the years including Mississippi Burning, Sea of Love, Days of Thunder, JFK, Cliffhanger,Tombstone,Mallrats, Rosewood, The 6th Day and Jumper. He has also guest starred in the TV series Stargate SG-1 and Crime Story.
In 2010, he starred in James Felix McKenney's horror film Hypothermia, which was co-produced by Larry Fessenden and set in New York. In June 2010 he revealed via Twitter that he was to appear in the AMC television series The Walking Dead. In the series, he portrays Merle Dixon, one of the survivors of a zombie apocalypse.
Jonathan E. "Jon" Bernthal (born September 20, 1976) is an American actor, best known for his role as Shane Walsh on the AMC television series The Walking Dead.
Bernthal was born and raised in Washington, D.C. where he graduated from the Sidwell Friends School. After high school, he studied at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York and later attended The School of Moscow Art Theatre, in Moscow, Russia. During his time there, he also played professional baseball in the European Professional Baseball Federation (Confédération Européenne de Baseball).
He was discovered by the director of Harvard University's Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts and was invited to study for his master's degree there. He graduated in 2002 from the American Repertory Theatre with a Master of Fine Arts.
Since 2002, he has performed in over 30 plays regionally and off-Broadway, including many with his own award-winning theatre company Fovea Floods. He starred on the CBS sitcom The Class from 2006 through 2007.
