Airport Aeroporto Amerigo Vespucci or simply Peretola, is located 4 km from the center of Florence. A taxi can make the trip in 15 minutes, and the Bus between the airport and Santa Maria Novella railway station takes 20 minutes. The Volainubus Airport Shuttle connects Vespucci Airport to downtown Florence. Train Station Florence's central station is called Santa Maria Novella. Santa Maria Novella station is located in the northwest corner of central Florence. Many services, including two internet points, are located within the station. Busses ATAF and LI-NEA together maintain the city's public transportation system. Tickets and bus passes can be purchased at the ATAF ticket booth at Piazza Stazione. Visitors buy a bus ticket at any tobacconist displaying an orange A.T.A.F. sticker on the door or window. All tickets must be time stamped using the machines onboard the buses. You can get bus passes for varying durations. Sita Busses Sita Busses will take you to many destinations in Tuscany. The price is about the same as train travel, except that, in some cases the busses are more convenient, especially if you don't have a lot of luggage and want to get to the center of town. Taxis Florence is served by taxi companies.Taxi Radio and Taxi Socota. Socota is the largest.You may be won't be able to hail a cab, you'd be better off finding a taxi stand or calling.
