Peter Lawrence Boyle, Jr. (October 18, 1935 – December 12, 2006) was an American actor, best known for his role as Frank Barone on the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, and as a comical monster in Mel Brooks' film spoof Young Frankenstein (1974).
Boyle, who won an Emmy Award in 1996 for a guest-starring role on the science-fiction drama The X-Files, won praise in both comedic and dramatic parts following his breakthrough performance in the 1970 film Joe.
Boyle was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania of Irish descent, the son of Alice and Peter Boyle Sr. He moved with his family to nearby Philadelphia. His father was a Philadelphia TV personality from 1951–1963 who, among many other things, played the Western-show host Chuck Wagon Pete, and hosted the afterschool children's program Uncle Pete Presents the Little Rascals, which showed vintage Little Rascals, Three Stooges comedy shorts and Popeye cartoons.
He was raised Roman Catholic and he attended St. Francis de Sales School and West Philadelphia Catholic High School For Boys. After high school Boyle spent three years as a novice of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, or De La Salle Brothers, a Catholic teaching order. He lived in a house of studies with other novices and earned a BA from La Salle University in Philadelphia in 1957, but left the order because he did not feel called to religious life. While in Philadelphia, he worked as a cameraman on the cooking show Television Kitchen, hosted by Florence Hanford.

With each mistake you either bend or break
With every word I choose you only seem to bruise
Powder blue always suited you or was your suitor too
Until you're powder blue
You're going off the deep end
I'm going over all the things I've gotta say
Apologies from my front door
I couldn't love you more
The bell was cracked your senses sacked
What once seemed civilized in fear was paralyzed
I made love blind, I lost my mind and now I'm over you
'Cause I'm not under you
We thought we'd drive forever
Now is it okay if I walk you to your car?
Apologies from my car floor
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love you more
Baby between you and me, love is all we need
You held out your heart so I could watch it bleed
I never thought you could ever fall into my life, so banal
something so light shouldn't hurt at all
Apologies from my front door
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love you more
Powder blue, powder blue
What can you do? She's powder blue
Powder blue, powder blue
What can you do? She's powder blue
I'll be true, my powder blue
(Powder blue)
It's all for you, it's all for you
And you know it
Powder blue, powder blue
The seventh sun of Orion with me too
Oh powder blue, how do you do?
Come walk with me now, powder blue
Powder blue, powder blue
(Powder blue)
It's all for you, it's all for you
And you can feel that
Powder blue, oh powder blue
I've got this feeling, powder blue
Oh powder blue, powder blue
It's in my head for you
I'll be true, my powder blue
(Powder blue)
It's all for you, it's all for you

We are so hopeless
We are hopelessly in love
She breaks my will
She's my bitter pill
Addicted to her
can't fight off the chill
She blurs my world
She's my bitter pill
We creep the night
Just to taste the thrill
Hopelessly in love
She's the one of love drives a man insane
She sticks her poison right in my vein
Spinning around
Over and upside down in love
She breaks my will
She's my bitter pill
Addicted to her
Can't fight off this chill
She blurs my world
She's my bitter pill
We creep the night
Just to taste the thrill
Hopelessly in love
She blurs my world
She's my bitter pill
She breaks my will
She's my bitter pill
We creep the night
Just to taste the thrill
Addicted to her

Well I came out Of nowhere just to see you
Now I can't find my way home feeling so blue
I See the sign by the corner light telling
Me which way to go, but I don't know.
When you walked up to me and told
me dearly.
How you'd like me to join, you said
quite clearly
Did it ever occur to you, that I might like to
See you?
Everyday I see a different situation,
I can't find much that is true
And you know it ain't much of a relation.
Still, I'm calling on you
All the lime I keep feeling how it could be,
Between lovers who only want to be free
Just the Same I don't feel too strong.
Armed with nothing but a song for too long.
Maybe there will be a day I see direction
. . . . -Oh Bitter Blue
Ooh Bitter Blue
I keep On calling out your name
I look outside and find the rain
If I only had an idea what to do-
About you Bitter Blue
Ooh Bitter Blue
Repeat
At the end of the track is a two bit shack
When you die, that's where you go
Down the lines, up from this pit at the end of your rainbow
That's one too many flights of stairs
One more stair and almost there
One more dose close
One [Incomprehensible] to the bottom of the stairs
One more unholy ghost
Keep coming back to haunt you
Got no place left to go
Meet me on the [Incomprehensible]
And they'll strip your car to the bone
We did a scene, checked out a gown
The justice started laughing
[Incomprehensible] remove their heads
I guess that's what you get for laughing
One last laugh and lived to tell
One more pomp and circumstance
One more fool to follow
Another finger down my throat
It's a bitter pill to swallow
So much later coming
It's moving much too slow
Who it is asleep at the wheel
I don't want to know
Just around the corner there's
Somebody there to take you there
Don't worry child you're sure to be scared
One more drink before I go
One last good luck kiss
One less thing to call my own
That's one more thing I miss
[Incomprehensible]
Took the world by storm
Most of 'em either in a dark jail
Or wishing they had never been born
Just around the corner there's
One more pomp and circumstance
One more fool to follow
Another finger down my throat
Feeling apart from yourself, while your feeling.
When you're alone are you sure?
Guess you don't have to much left,
do you really?
Pick it all up and go.
Anyway...
Here's something to make you feel better.
I guess you will I can't see.
Here's something to make you feel alright.
That you'd kill just to be.
Keeping the friends that you keep,
do they keep you?
From coming to terms with yourself.
Even your shadow knows, how they see you.
Neither of you really cares.
Anyway...
Here's something to make you feel better.
A bitter pill at your feet.
Here's something to make you feel alright.
Make a wish wait and see.
[guitar solo}
Having a ball with yourself, your defeated.
Will you turn back to what's left?
Right at the moment it's clear, you conceited.
Will you go back to what's there?
Anyway...
Here's something to make me feel better
I got you out of my mind. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Here's something to make me feel alright
Keep it simple and kind. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Here's something to make me feel better
I guess you will I can't see. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Here's something to make you feel alright
Riding down this road
Like I've riden down a million
I've run thru the epic rome
But I can't miss town
I laughed at all the signs
They say speed will kill ya'
A hit of you to slow me down
And I've forgotten
How to fly
But I'll remember
Before I die
It's a crooked line I follow
It's a rocky road I ride
It's a bitter pill I swallow
Just to keep you by my side
Oh my
I'm driving without sleep
There just ain't no tommorow
Because misery is always colorblind
I've taken every remedy for ignorance and sorrow
Something to cure this wicked mind
And I've forgotten
How to fly
But I'll remember
Before I die
It's a crooked line I follow
It's a rocky road I ride
It's a bitter pill I swallow
Just to keep you by my side
Just to keep you satisfied
And I've forgotten
The reason why
But I'll remember
Before I die
It's a crooked line I follow
It's a rocky road I ride
It's a bitter pill I swallow
Just to keep you by my side
Just to keep you satisfied
It's a crooked line I follow
It's a rocky road I ride
It's a bitter pill I swallow
Just to keep you by my side
Just to keep you satisfied
Just to keep you by my side
Satisfied
Satisfied
It's a wicked world baby
I'm riding down this road
Like I've riden down a million
I've run thru the epic rome
But I can't miss town
I laughed at all the signs
They say speed will kill ya'
It took you to slow me down
A hit of you to slow me down
It took of you to slow me down
A hit of you to slow me down
It took of you to slow me down
A hit of you to slow me down
It took you to slow me down, baby
A hit of you to slow me down
Bitter pill to swallow
Slidin' down my throat
Bitter pill to swallow
How it makes me choke
How the hell am I gonna find
Happiness and peace of mind
When I'm losin' all the time?
Yes... bitter
Don't you ever call me
I don't wanna see your face
Don't you dare to call me
Don't darken up this place
What the hell d'ya expect from me?
Emptiness and misery
Took it all away ya see
Yes... bitter
Ooh it means nothin' to me
Ooh you mean nothin' to me
Ooh it means nothin' to me
I paid the price
Sacrificed
Sacrificed...
Bitter pill to swallow
How can I abide
The taste of rage and anger
Burnin' me inside?
How the hell
Will it ever change?
Slowly drivin' me insane
Let me cover up this pain
Yes... bitter
When I'm feelin' low
And there's no place to go
And I'm on my knees
Fallen back down on the floor
And I've had enough
And the situation's tough
And I'm hangin' on
By my nails
Holdin' on... hopin' I won't fail
This is what reality is made of can't
You see I'm relatively twisted
Laid myself upon you
Underneath your feet
Laid myself upon you
Didn't that look sweet?
Finally the truth has come
Guess I know it all along
Nothing else I could have done
Yes ...
Bitter
Bitter
I'm bitter
Turn your tired eyes home, put the sword to stone
Death by boredom, the rich man bears the burden
That the poor man seeks to chase
The chase is certain
Did not see it coming, better stand for something
They're wicked as they come, break the cycle
Racing down the flames, while building the coffins
Iron unbroken, break the cycle
It's a bitter pill, such a bitter pill to swallow [x2]
I've broke the cycle, after all these years
Death by boredom, not afraid to reveal
What the world is sensing, the chase is certain
Did not see it coming, better stand for something
They're wicked as they come, break the cycle
Racing down the flames, while building the coffins
Iron unbroken, break the cycle
It's a bitter pill, such a bitter pill to swallow [x2]
Silence is my companion
With a pride it's going worldwide
It's spreading worldwide
Across the great divide
[x2]
Healer, believer
On the bended knee, when push comes to shove
Healer, believer
Time and time again, you push me too far
It's a bitter pill, such a bitter pill to swallow
It's a bitter pill, such a bitter pill to swallow
It's a bitter pill
Such a bitter pill
It's a bitter pill Everyday they make me swallow it down And it's against my will
Well I spend a lot of time just hanging round waiting In the broken down places that you really wouldn't wanna see Well I spend a lot of time just hanging round hating All the broken down people that you really wouldn't wanna be
And it's so bitter, believe it So won't you come in and feel it
All education's gone Everyday I'll start out in the right and drift into the wrong
Well I spend a lot of time just hanging round waiting In the broken down places that you really wouldn't wanna see Well I spend a lot of time just hanging round hating All the broken down people that you really wouldn't wanna be
And it's so bitter, believe it So won't you come in and feel it
And I realise you think we're antisocial And the reason why's the love you never showed us
And it's so bitter, believe it So won't you come in and feel it
Tell me something I didn't know Tell me something I didn't know Tell me something, tell me something, tell me something I didn't know
Tell me something I didn't know Tell me something, tell me something, tell me something I didn't know
Bitter pill to swallow
Slidin' down my throat
Bitter pill to swallow
How it makes me choke
How the hell am I gonna find
Happiness and peace of mind

Bitter
Bitter
I'm bitter
So bitter
Days long gone
And lost hot nights
No crowded streets to walk tonight
Still the stars shine so bright
Don't need a coat I'll be alright
Then you walked into my life
Halo bright with dark brown eyes
Just standing in her light
Remembered love again that night
Bitter apple take a bite
(It's kind of wonderful)
Fallen star you're mine tonight
(Strange but beautiful)
Bitter apple take my life
(It's kind of wonderful)
If I close my eyes you're mine tonight
Tonight
We laughed so hard it caused some pain
Two strangers standing in the rain
We smoked our cigarettes
(It's kind of wonderful)
Exchanging our regrets
How Can I forget
The things, that I, I still Regret
I'm Wasted [x2]
Digest this bitter pill
I close My eyes
Cold sweat's I feel the chill
Inside
I descend into the abyss of a sin
Recall decisions that I made within
This sense of guilt building up deep inside
Respect of the man I once knew slowly dies
How Can I forget
The things, that I, I still Regret
I'm Wasted [x2]
Confined to sleepless nights
My past will haunt
My Constant Shadow fights
I Fall
As time stands still, Memories just stay alive
My head hangs low from the lack of disguise
The weakness slowly Dismembers my soul
I can't find exactly where I lost control
How Can I forget
The things, that I, I still Regret
I'm Wasted [x2]
[After Solo]
How Can I forget
The things, that I, I still Regret
And I knew you'd come walking up the middle of the street
Like a ball of fire giving off heat
And I was standing there in my lace of flames
My fingers on fire embers all around
As the walls fell your hands found me in the fog
I heard people talking in that secret dialogue
More's going on than meets the eye
And I'm trying to decipher the lies
Bah bah da da da
Cause I was going under and you saved me
Now I owe it all to you
I was going under and you saved me
My bittersweet my bitter blue
And oh they do get mad baby don't they get angry
When you tell them that you just don't agree
They tell you that you're hard to please
That your na?ve and you're gonna be very very sorry
But I feel so sure and I feel so new
And then there you are in your jeans of blue
Making it all seem so easy
You make the gale winds nothing more than breezy
Bah bah da da da?
Cause I was going under and you saved me
Now I owe it all to you
I was going under and you saved me
My bittersweet my bitter blue
Whoa?. My bittersweet my bitter blue
Color's rising honey don't you realize don't you see
You're for me like Adam was for Eve
See me come laughing through the fields
See me come laughing through the waves
Baby I've been holding out for you ? yeah
See me come laughing through the fields
See me come through the waves
Here I come, here I come
Cause I was going under and you saved me
Now I owe it all to you
I was going under and you saved me
I tried to fight against what I once thought couldn’t be won
It took some time it took my strongest will not to swallow such a bitter pill
Your flattering words promising letters look like a mirage now
I was so mistaken my blinding faith and trust were all to blame
These unanswered questions that used to tear me up inside
That used to cross my mind a thousand times and to nearly bring tears to my eyes
It’s time to leave and not regret it’s time to live and just forget
No matter how hard my pride was hurt
No matter how long I stood here drowning
And again I’ve picked myself off the ground and set myself (free)
from this overwhelming weight of past memories
I tried to fight against what I once thought couldn’t be won
It took some time it took my strongest will not to swallow such a bitter pill
Your flattering words promising letters look like a mirage now
I was so mistaken my blinding faith and trust were all to blame
These unanswered questions that used to tear me up inside

No matter how hard my pride was hurt
No matter how long I stood here drowning
And again I’ve picked myself off the ground and set myself (free)
from this overwhelming weight of past memories
It doesn’t mean anything to me as it used to be
The sorrow our memories our story you and me
No matter what were the answers
to these questions I’ve never found out
Don't you know it's a secrect place somewhere you always hide
All alone you can ease the pain that you felt deep inside
Powder Blue was the color of your eyes and of my dreams
All along you would do it for you always do it for love all
For love Powder Blue you got lost do it for love Powder Blue
Sleep way in your dreamy world coulds just keep flowing by
All alone whose your best friend now his name is Powder Blue
While you hide you would do it for for you always do it for love
All for love Powder Blue you got lost do it for love Powder Blue Blue Blue
Blue

If I close my eyes you're mine tonight, tonight
If I close my eyes
My heart pumps this Blood rushtill my legs numb
my sweat drips down my face; clears my vison I battle myself;
I battle
Keep my hands from my troat
for this silence
I battle my self
Swollow down now whole
Bitter Pill unfolds
I lose my surroundings and fake that
I've gained hope
This Bitter Pill he Swollows takes the tension
He's lost control of his hands control of steps
somewhere he fears
was almost sure could never happen to him
When this Pill is dessolved in his suffering body
He'll lay there stiff and shamfully
Guilty acts laced with fear lie the knots to be
temporarily secure
Your eyes are just like black spiders
Your hair and dress in ribbons
Babycakes
In despair or incoherent, nothing in between
China white, my bride tonight
Smiling on the tiles
Bring that minute back
We never get so close as when the sunward flight begins
I share it all with you
Powder blue, oh
Stumble through the crowds together
They're trying to ignore us
That's okay
I'm proud to be the one you hold when the shakes begin
Sallow-skinned, starry-eyed
Blessed in our sin
Bring that minute back
We never get so close to death, makes you so alive
I share it all with you
Powder blue, oh
Yeah, yeah
Hey, yeah
Hey, yeah
Bring that minute back
We'll never get so close as when the sunward flight begins
I share it all with you
In the light western wind
She sat outside wondering
How life had brought another case of bitter blue
She ran her fingers through her hair
Tinged with madness, quiet despair
For love had gone and in its place came bitter blue
Pick me up
Wash me clean
Take this bitter heart
Fill me up with something sweet
Will someone help me please?
Hold me close
Give me peace
Take this bitter life
Fill me up with something sweet
Will someone help me please?
In the night where our fears meet
Her demons walked in off the street
They sat up all night reciting tales of bitter blue
By daybreak her troubled soul
Was pacing nervously in her own home
Trying to calm a raging sense of bitter blue
Pick me up
Wash me clean
Take this bitter heart
Fill me up with something sweet
Will someone help me please?
Hold me close
Give me peace
Take this bitter life
Fill me up with something sweet
Will someone help me please?
Suddenly all the birds are singing
Your heart is a bell
Your cries are ringing
Into this dawn of aching voices
It seemed so easy at the start
When I left my heart
Sitting on the roof of the car
And drove off
And I rushed to leave the past behind
Forgot that heart was mine
I didn't even know at the time
I had one
I put the pedal to the floor
Heading for the western shore
Thinking only of high times
I had there
Oh, I was cruel, cruel, cruel
I thought I'd fly too high to fall
But I never flew
Never left the ground at all
Greedy to get on the way
I made that old mistake
Of sneering at familiar streets
And faces
Did you marry someone good
From our neighborhood?
Or are you on the other side of the world
Still searching?
Oh, I was cruel, cruel, cruel
I thought I'd fly too high to fall
But I never flew
Never left the ground at all, at all
So next time, time, time
I'll dream in days or on your mind
Look me up 'cause I
Never left those days behind, behind
I've done some things I never should have done
Now I've come down, don't tell me that I'm out of time
Turn back your love upon a pie-eyed fool
Forget the things I did
When I was cruel, cruel, cruel
I thought I'd fly too high to fall
'Cause I never flew
Never left the ground at all, at all
So next time, time, time
I'll dream in days or on your mind
Look me up 'cause I
