Father Groeschel was a longtime friend of our apostolate and a great devotee of Fatima. He and the other friars of his order dedicated their lives to living the spirit of the Holy Poverello in an urban environment. They serve the poor by bringing them both spiritual and material help.
Father Groeschel once said that he finds the greatest internal peace amongst the noise of the city, particularly while riding the New York subways. May the noise of the city now be replaced by the presence of the Lord.
We offer our condolences to Father Andrew Apostoli and to all of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.
Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine; et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.
Eternal rest grant unto him, Oh Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen.
