Christmas or Christmas Day (Old English: Crīstesmæsse, literally "Christ's mass") is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated generally on December 25 as a religious and cultural holiday by billions of people around the world. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it closes the Advent season and initiates the twelve days of Christmastide. Christmas is a civil holiday in many of the world's nations, is celebrated by an increasing number of non-Christians, and is an integral part of the Christmas and holiday season.
The precise year of Jesus' birth, which some historians place between 7 and 2 BC, is unknown. By the early-to-mid 4th century, Western Christianity had placed Christmas on December 25, a date later adopted in the East. The date of Christmas may have initially been chosen to correspond with the day exactly nine months after the Annunciation, the date Christians believe Jesus to have been conceived, (as well as the date of the southern solstice, i.e., the Roman winter solstice), with a sun connection being possible because Christians consider Jesus to be the "Sun of righteousness" prophesied in Malachi 4:2.
Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She made her recording debut in 1990 under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, and released her self-titled debut studio album, Mariah Carey. The album went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles, on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993, a series of hit records, including Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993) and Merry Christmas (1994), established her position as Columbia's highest-selling act. Daydream (1995), made music history when the second single, "One Sweet Day" a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest running number one song in US chart history. During the recording of the album Carey began to deviate from her pop background, and slowly traversed into R&B and Hip-hop. After her separation from Mottola, this musical change was evident with the release of Butterfly (1997).

Of his father, Ruffalo has said, "He was an amazing, charismatic guy who was city high school wrestling champion three times. He was away a lot when I was growing up. I was very lonely for him.” Ruffalo was raised Roman Catholic; he attended both a Catholic and a progressive school. Ruffalo spent his teen years in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where his father worked. He graduated from First Colonial High School, and then moved with his family to San Diego, and later to Los Angeles, California. [Father:]
Did you ever see the faces of children
They get so excited.
Waking up on christmas morning
Hours before the winter 1's ignited.
They believe in dreams and all they mean
Including heavens generosity.
Peeping round the door
to see what parcels are for free
In curiosity.
And Tommy doesn't know what day it is.
Doesn't know who Jesus was or what praying is.
How can he be saved?
From the eternal grave.
Surrounded by his friends he sits so silently,
And unaware of everything.
Playing poxy pin ball
picks his nose and smiles and
Pokes his tongue at everything.
I believe in love
but how can men who've never seen
Light be enlightened.
Only if he's cured
will his spirits future level ever heighten.
And Tommy doesn't know what day it is.
Doesn't know who Jesus was or what praying is.
How can he be saved?
>From the eternal grave.
Tommy can you hear me?
Tommy can you hear me?
Tommy can you hear me?
How can he be saved?
[Tommy:]
See me, feel me
Touch me, heal me.
See me, feel me
Touch me, heal me!
Tommy can you hear me?
Tommy can you hear me?
Tommy can you hear me?
How can he be saved?
Walking on a cold December morning
Snowflakes falling down, in the silence of the dawn
In loneliness I dream away
I'm looking forward to Christmas day
To the highlight of the year
Christmas when the sleighbells sounds so bright
Christmas oh so wonderful and white
Love and understanding, peace in every way
Oh Christmas could you be here every day
Living it ain't worth while when you're lonely
All those wintry nights, grow longer day by day
The only comfort the light I see
It's coming from the Christmas tree
The highlight of the year
Christmas when the sleighbells sounds so bright
Christmas oh so wonderful and white
Love and understanding, peace in every way
Oh Christmas could you be here every day
The world goes 'round again and again
And seems to stop on these precious nights
Christmas when the sleighbells sounds so bright
Christmas oh so wonderful and white
Love and understanding, peace in every way
Did you ever see the faces of the children? They get so excited
Waking up on Christmas morning, hours before the winter sun's ignited
They believe in dreams and all they mean including heavens generosity
Peeping round the door to see what parcels are for me, in curiosity
And Tommy doesn't know what day it is

you think you know me oh, just shut the fuck up
i keep my word cuz i'm bound to get it right
standin up tall, and i'm jack, i'm jackin, im bustin balls
to get back, and up again, i know my mind is set
why is you still talkin and the world just got to me today
oh, what we say, love and adore yea
my child your child, let him go
leave her believe her my sister she's a waiting owl
ya cant stop believing
i'm just the last to kick the cup
oh you dont know me oh, just shut the fuck up
I keep my word, cuz i'm around to get it right
standin up tall, and i'm jack, i'm jackin, i'm bustin balls
to get back, and up again, i know my mind is set
why is you still talkin and the world just got to me today
oh, what we say, love and adore
what's stolen, oh, when it's over

A newborn King to see
Our finest gifts we bring
To lay before the King...Oh when we come"

Lots of people around

Baby please come home

The church bells in town
(Christmas)
All ringing in song
(Christmas)
Full of happy sounds
(Christmas)
Baby please come home
They're singing 'Deck The Halls'
But it's not like Christmas at all
I remember when you were here
And all the fun we had last year

Pretty lights on the tree

I'm watching them shine
(Christmas)
You should be here with me

Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
Cuz now it's Christmas
Somebody take me away

Just bring me things that I don't need
Cuz now it's Christmas

I just can't wait
Christmas, so don't stop spending
I wanna million gifts, that's right
Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
Cuz now it's Christmas
I wish I could take this day and make it last forever
and no matter what I get tonight... I want more
It's Christmas and I want everything
I just can't wait
It's Christmas and I want everything now
Christmas and I want everything
I just can't wait
Christmas, so don't stop spending
I wanna million gifts, that's right
and I can't wait till midnight
Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
(Can't wait for Christmas)
Cuz now it's Christmas

Words by J. Popper Music by T. Anastasio and J. Popper Comes the time for Christmas
And I really have to ask
If this is feeling merry
How much longer must it last
I wish a one horse open sleigh
Would come carry me away
But I've been waiting here all day
And one just hasn't come my way
Now excuse me if I'm not being reverent
But I was hoping for a miracle to hold me, wash me
Save me from my righteous doubt as I watch helpless
And everybody sings
If it's Chanukah or Kwanza
Solstice, harvest or December twenty-fifth
Peace on earth to everyone
And abundance to everyone you're with
Laha da da da da da

Comes the time for Christmas
And as you raise your Yuletide flask
There's like this feeling that you carry
As if from every Christmas past
It's as if each year it grows
It's like you feel it in your toes
And on and on your carol goes
Harvesting love among your woes
I want to buy into the benevolent
And I was hoping for a miracle to hold me, wash me
Make me know what it's about
As the longing in me makes me want to sing
Noel or Navidad
Season celebration or just the end of the year
Christmas can mean anything
And I mean to keep its hope forever near

As if a cold and frozen soul is warm to love
By loves own hand
So goes the prayer if for a day peace on earth
And good will to man
At twenty below the winter storm it billows
But the fire is so warm inside
And the children while nestled in their pillows
Dream of St. Nicholas's ride
And how the next day they'll get up and they will play
In the still falling Christmas snow
And together we'll celebrate forever
In defiance of the winds that blow
My god in heaven now I feel like I'm seven
And spirit calls to me as well
As if Christmas had made the winter warmer
Made a paradise from what was hell
As if a cold and frozen soul is warm to love
By loves own hand
So goes the prayer if for a day peace on earth
And good will to man...
I wish a one horse open sleigh would come carry me away
And I'll keep waiting through next May
I'm not supposed to feel this way
We're closing in on Christmas day
When the world is upside down
We're gonna make it through
Somehow...
Don't you worry
We'll be fine
Snow will fall
And stars will shine
Even in the worst of times
It's Christmas
For the ones you leave behind
The colours of our country still
In mother's hands and father's will
Even when we're half awake
They cannot take our heroes away (away)
Don't you worry
We'll be fine
Snow will fall
And stars will shine
Even in the worst of times
It's Christmas
For the ones you leave behind
Behind, behind, behind
Oh, hey, hey-hey-hey
Don't you worry
We'll be fine
Snow will fall
And stars will shine
Even for the ordinary
Everybody needs to carry
Everybody, have a merry Christmas
From the ones you leave behind
Behind, behind
Merry Christmas
Christmas
A god is born and others die. What is
Has neither come nor gone, but error moves.
Today we have exchanged eternities
And what is past no novelty improves.
Blind knowledge is working at useless ground
And crazy faith is living the dream of its liturgy
A new god is a word - or the mere sound
I had sex on Chrismas
I had sex three times today
Three different women taught be how to be bored in their own separate, sweet, little ways
I feel like hell on Christmas
And I feel like hell today
I feel like Hell
When I wake-up, I can tell that I'm never gonna make you stay
Okay, here it goes
I didn't get no presents on Christmas
And I sure didn't get none today
Learned my lesson
Life is one long session of disappointment, heartache, pain
Disappointment
Heartache
Pain
I want to leave
You will not miss me
I want to go
From here to something
Something else
Something better
Something I can call my own
Christmas time
The snow is white and so are you
Christmas time
You have a warmth inside you
Tell me if
Your saddest feeling
Is when you hear
That I'm here for you
You're something else
Something special
Something I call my own
'Cause it's the sweetest dream
It's my weakest thought
This is the brightest light
Christmas time
The snow is white and so are you
Christmas time
Sounds
The summer sun comes down
I can hardly see the window
From here now
Here and now
The snow
In waves you'll never know
Through this ever-changing midnight
Just let it go
Just let it go
Hey, on this sacred, sun-rinsed day
They'll sell our culture and
They'll sell the ways, the blaming
Standing still, we'll fall
Burn this sadness from my soul, babe
I guess that's all
Fear and the sky begins to clear
Through this ever-changing midnight
Christmas cheer
Words are falling form your lips like Christmas to my hips
So dangerous the strangest feeling of being
I want willow trees and melodies and flowers counting hours
Till he's breathing leaving the rest behind
'Cause I? m full of love
Like the waves washes sands clean
And the sun sparkles meadows green
I want kisses and dresses
A late night message that cradles, halos me to sleep
'Cause I? m full of love
Yeah I? m full of, of the above
Like a mother leaves her cubs astray
And a teacher leaves at the end of each day, I? ll stay
So cover me but lover be patient
Love's ancient but not for me
'Cause I? m full of love
Yeah I? m full of, of the above
Like Christmas stays with you
Walk through darkened streets as we lay true

"Come they told me
A newborn King to see
Our finest gifts we bring
To lay before the King... Oh when we come"
It's Christmas again. it will never be the same
It's Christmas again, I know
There's only sadness in my soul
It's Christmas again... It'll never be the same
And as the snow is falling from the sky
All I wanna do is cry
I got to get away from here
I gotta get away...
By tomorrow, I will be gone
By tomorrow, I'll see the sun again
But tonight... I am... The Little Drummer boy
Tonight... I am... the one who will destroy
The secrets never told before
Of those who lost their souls
There are sad things in the Darkness
There are sad things all around us
It's Christmas again. it will never be the same
It's Christmas again, I know
There's only sadness in my soul
It's Christmas again... It'll never be the same
"Come they told me
A newborn King to see
Our finest gifts we bring
To lay before the King..."
Now here I go
I'm falling on my face, drum breaking on the stage
Oh My God it's such a big disgrace
It's Christmas again. it will never be the same
It's Christmas again, I know
Sometimes Christmas isn't like TV
Some kids got no presents under their tree
Their plates are empty, there's nothing to eat
The holidays just remind them of what they haven't got
"Come they told me
A newborn King to see
Our finest gifts we bring
To lay before the King... Oh when we come"
It's Christmas again. it will never be the same
It's Christmas again, I know
There's only sadness in my soul

All I wanna do is cry

I'm falling on my face, drum breaking on the stage
Oh My God it's such a big disgrace
It's Christmas again. it will never be the same
It's Christmas again, I know
Days are shorter I am dreaming cold
I am on tour on another lonely town
I am alright my heart goes slow
Come to you my love runs fast
I am alright away I have too many obligation
What more can I say I am alright
Sometimes it should be more
I make a call for a... to go home
And pack my bags coming her... I am all the way back door
Come in her come in love
I am gonna run to you
There is someone somewhere after dark
To run away back home
Coming home for Christmas coming home
Parents and children on the street remind me of my childhood
I am alright I ask myself is it worthy to make my way...
Make a call buy a ticket to come home
Pack my bags again
I am coming home
I am on my way to you
There is someone somewhere after dark
To run away back home
Coming home for Christmas coming home
Out of the airport take a taxi for the ride
I wanna be back home tonight
I am coming home
I am on my way back home
I am coming home
I am coming home
I am on my way to you
There is someone somewhere after dark
To run away back home
Coming home for Christmas coming home
Coming home for Christmas coming home

Have I been a good boy that's none of your business
I just want some good toys can I get a witness
Last week's
Communsurate heartaches
Had me blushed and pale
What I heard
What I understood
It was no joke
My aim is fantastic
Bring back the guns
It's too much for the young
And so the old throw it out
Putting blame back
Where blame can settle down
My name is elastic
