Some girls are born to be bad.
Join or die!
Sister . . . Sinner . . . Sinister
Plot
A film about two homicide detectives' desperate hunt for a serial killer who justifies his crimes as absolution for the world's ignorance of the Seven Deadly Sins. The movie takes us from the tortured remains of one victim to the next as the sociopathic "John Doe" sermonizes to Detectives Sommerset and Mills -- one sin at a time. The sin of Gluttony comes first and the murderer's terrible capacity is graphically demonstrated in the dark and subdued tones characteristic of film noir. The seasoned and cultured but jaded Sommerset researches the Seven Deadly Sins in an effort to understand the killer's modus operandi while the bright but green and impulsive Detective Mills scoffs at his efforts to get inside the mind of a killer...

Long is the way, and hard, that out of hell leads up to light.
Detective Somerset is looking for a way out. Detective David Mills is looking for a way in. Now, they're caught in a game with a price of sin is death.
Seven deadly sins. Seven ways to die.
Gluttony * Greed * Sloth * Envy * Wrath * Pride * Lust
Let he who is without sin try to survive
Earnest Hemingway once wrote, "The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I believe the second part.
Crazed Man in Massage Parlour: Get this thing off of me! Get this thing off of me!
John Doe: It's more comfortable for you to label me as insane.::David Mills: It's VERY comfortable.
David Mills: Wait, I thought all you did was kill innocent people.::John Doe: Innocent? Is that supposed to be funny? An obese man... a disgusting man who could barely stand up; a man who if you saw him on the street, you'd point him out to your friends so that they could join you in mocking him; a man, who if you saw him while you were eating, you wouldn't be able to finish your meal. After him, I picked the lawyer and I know you both must have been secretly thanking me for that one. This is a man who dedicated his life to making money by lying with every breath that he could muster to keeping murderers and rapists on the streets!::David Mills: Murderers?::John Doe: A woman...::David Mills: Murderers, John, like yourself?::John Doe: [interrupts] A woman... so ugly on the inside she couldn't bear to go on living if she couldn't be beautiful on the outside. A drug dealer, a drug dealing pederast, actually! And let's not forget the disease-spreading whore! Only in a world this shitty could you even try to say these were innocent people and keep a straight face. But that's the point. We see a deadly sin on every street corner, in every home, and we tolerate it. We tolerate it because it's common, it's trivial. We tolerate it morning, noon, and night. Well, not anymore. I'm setting the example. What I've done is going to be puzzled over and studied and followed... forever.
William Somerset: David. If you kill him, he will win.
David Mills: Do you like what you do for a living? These things you see?::Man in Massage Parlour Booth: No, I don't. But that's life.
William Somerset: [to Tracy] Anyone who spends a significant amount of time with me finds me disagreeable. Just ask your husband.::David Mills: Very true. Very, very true.
David Mills: Yeah, a landlord's dream: a paralyzed tenant with no tongue.::William Somerset: Who pays the rent on time.
William Somerset: I just don't think I can continue to live in a place that embraces and nurtures apathy as if it was virtue.::David Mills: You're no different. You're no better.::William Somerset: I didn't say I was different or better. I'm not. Hell, I sympathize; I sympathize completely. Apathy is the solution. I mean, it's easier to lose yourself in drugs than it is to cope with life. It's easier to steal what you want than it is to earn it. It's easier to beat a child than it is to raise it. Hell, love costs: it takes effort and work.
David Mills: Fuckin' Dante... poetry-writing faggot! Piece of shit, motherfucker!
Dr. Beardsley: He's experienced about as much pain and suffering as anyone I've encountered, give or take, and he still has Hell to look forward to.

California (pronounced i/kælɨˈfɔrnjə/) is a state located on the West Coast of the United States. It is by far the most populous U.S. state, and the third most extensive (after Alaska and Texas). It is home to the nation's second- and sixth-largest census statistical areas (Los Angeles Metropolitan Area and San Francisco Bay Area), and eight of the nation's fifty most populated cities (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Fresno, Sacramento, Long Beach and Oakland). The capital city is Sacramento.
California's diverse geography ranges from the Pacific Coast in the west, to the Sierra Nevada mountains in the east – from the Redwood–Douglas-fir forests of the northwest, to the Mojave Desert areas in the southeast. The center of the state is dominated by Central Valley, a major agricultural area. California contains both the highest and lowest points in the contiguous United States (Mount Whitney and Death Valley), and has the third-longest coastline of all states (after Alaska and Florida). Earthquakes are a common occurrence due to the state's location along the Pacific Ring of Fire: about 37,000 are recorded annually.
Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Perry grew up with gospel music, and during her first year of high school she pursued a music career as Katy Hudson, releasing her first studio album called Katy Hudson which failed to chart. She recorded a solo album later, which was never released. After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry.
She first gained recognition with the release of her first mainstream album, One of the Boys in 2008, which spawned three Billboard Hot 100 top-ten songs—"I Kissed A Girl", "Hot n Cold" and "Waking Up In Vegas". Perry supported the album with her Hello Katy Tour. In 2010, her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010), which topped the Billboard 200 chart, and spawned five number one singles—"California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"—Teenage Dream was the only album (after Michael Jackson's Bad)—to do so, and the first female in history to achieve this milestone. She embarked on the California Dreams Tour, which grossed nearly $60 million worldwide. Perry re-released the album under the name of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection on March 26, 2012, and the re-release has already spawned the number-one single "Part of Me".

Snoop's debut album Doggystyle, was released in 1993 under Death Row Records making a debut at No.1 on both the Billboard 200 and R&B charts. Selling almost a million copies in the first week of its release, Doggystyle quickly became certified 4× platinum in 1994 and spawned several hit singles, including "What's My Name" and "Gin & Juice". In 1994, Snoop released a soundtrack on Death Row Records for the short film Murder Was The Case, starring himself. In early 1996, Snoop Dogg was cleared of charges over his bodyguard's 1993 murder of Philip Woldemariam. His second album, late 1996's Tha Doggfather, also debuted at No.1 on both charts with "Snoop's Upside Ya Head" as the lead single. The album sold only half as well, being certified double platinum in 1997.

I'm goin' down south,
'Neath the borderline.
I'm goin' down south,
'Neath the borderline.
Some fat momma
Kissed my mouth one time.
Well, I needed it this morning
Without a shadow of doubt.
My suitcase is packed,
My clothes are hangin' out.
San Francisco's fine,
You sure get lots of sun.
San Francisco is fine.
You sure get lots of sun.
But I'm used to four seasons,
California's got but one.
Well, I got my dark sunglasses,
I got for good luck my black tooth.
I got my dark sunglasses,
And for good luck I got my black tooth.
Don't ask me nothin' about nothin',
I'm goin' home to California
And I'll be there in about a week
And I've been gone too long to worry
Can't you see I'm in a hurry
California, here I come
I've got some people in California
I hope they'll be there when I get home
But I've been gone too long to worry
Can't you see I'm in a hurry
California, here I come
Gonna live in a canyon made of gold
And there the sunshine shines everyday I'm told
And I've been gone too long to worry
Can't you see I'm in a hurry
California, here I come
I'm goin' home to California
And I'll be there in about a week
And I've been gone too long to worry
Can't you see I'm in a hurry
California, here I come
Hoo hoo, I need your huggin
I'm here my fears close guarded
Youth costing less than the next flight
You love the beautiful West Side
The beach and gorgeous sunrise
Surfs up the waves are risin' high
I'm all alone I need you here in Santa Monica
California [x 5]
From here to Bel Air
The blue bus will take us everywhere
Everyone's happy everyone's all right
From Lomita to El Cerrito
Seven years up and down the West Coast
Surfs up the waves are risin' high
I'm all alone I need you here in Santa Monica
Sitting in a park in paris, france
Reading the news and it sure looks bad
They wont give peace a chance
That was just a dream some of us had
Still a lot of lands to see
But I wouldnt want to stay here
Its too old and cold and settled in its ways here
Oh, but california
California Im coming home
Im going to see the folks I dig
Ill even kiss a sunset pig
California Im coming home
I met a redneck on a grecian isle
Who did the goat dance very well
He gave me back my smile
But he kept my camera to sell
Oh the rogue, the red red rogue
He cooked good omelettes and stews
And I might have stayed on with him there
But my heart cried out for you, california
Oh california Im coming home
Oh make me feel good rockn roll band
Im your biggest fan
California, Im coming home
Chorus:
Oh it gets so lonely
When youre walking
And the streets are full of strangers
All the news of home you read
Just gives you the blues
Just gives you the blues
So I bought me a ticket
I caught a plane to spain
Went to a party down a red dirt road
There were lots of pretty people there
Reading rolling stone, reading vogue
They said, how long can you hang around?
I said a week, maybe two,
Just until my skin turns brown
Then Im going home to california
California Im coming home
Oh will you take me as I am
Strung out on another man
California Im coming home
Chorus:
Oh it gets so lonely
When youre walking
And the streets are full of strangers
All the news of home you read
More about the war
And the bloody changes
Oh will you take me as l am?
Will you take me as l am?
i'mma smoke a trippy stick on this one
hash oil..
roll a joint, roll another one
when it's all said and done
i'll be at the top bitch
cause i hustle a lot

cause i been getting this money and stay on
a couple things that i know
i'm blowing this stink by the o
my weed so strong i swear to god you would think it's cologne
i go anywhere in the world and just make it my home
staying at the highest level but i didn't make it alone
now that my money right them suckers keep thinking i'm wrong
but i'm just switching lanes, foot off the brake and i'm gone
if you ain't talking money homie, you can't get a call

[hook]

and smoke weed with my niggas

only different is that's me on the cover
once in a while call my little sister and tell her i love her
cause she can get crazy in this industry

that's why i stay down with the ones that's still with me

niggas keep hating, but baby i'mma keep ballin
now i'm buying a steak on
on private island vacations

just an everyday life, when you young and bossin..
[hook]
i just wanna ride in my ride with my top down
Well it was out in California by the San Diego sea
That was when I was taken in and it left its mark on me
Yeah she nearly drove me crazy with all those China toys
And I know she really didn't mean a thing to any of those sailor boys
Louisiana rain is falling at my feet
Baby I'm noticing the change as I move down the street
Louisiana rain is soaking through my shoes
I may never be the same when I reach Baton Rouge
South Carolina put out its arms for me
Right up until everything went black somewhere on Lonely Street
And I still can't quite remember who helped me to my feet
Thank God for a love that followed the angel's remedy
Louisiana rain is falling just like tears
Running down my face, washing out the years
Louisiana rain is soaking through my shoes
I may never be the same when I reach Baton Rouge
Well I never will get over this English refugee
Singing to the jukebox in some all-night beanery
Yeah he was eating pills like candy and chasing them with tea
You should have seen him lick his lips, that old black muddied beak
Louisiana rain is falling at my feet
Baby I'm noticing the change as I move down the street
Louisiana rain is soaking through my shoes
I may never be the same when I reach Baton Rouge
Louisiana rain is falling just like tears
Running down my face, washing out the years
Louisiana rain is soaking through my shoes
She lived at the end of a little dirt road
In a house where secrets go untold
Barefoot in a cotton dress
Dark hair in a tangled mess
And a head full of crazy dreams
She said
I'm goin' to California
A place where the sun always shines
I'm goin' to California
And I'm leavin' everything behind
You can't help but feel a little bit touched
When your daddy loves you a little too much
You can wish on four leaf clovers
But all the fields have been plowed over
And there's nothin' left to do but fly away
She said
I'm goin' to California
A place where the sun always shines
I'm goin' to California
And I'm leavin' everything behind
Stars burn like candles on that two-lane highway
She made her wish, and disappeared on her 18th birthday
And she said
I'm goin' to California
A place where the sun always shines
I'm goin' to California
And I'm leavin' everything behind
I'm goin' to California
And I'm leavin' everything behind
Oh California
I'm goin' to California
Oh California
Leavin' it all behind
California's been good to me
Hope it don't fall into the sea
Sometimes you got to trust yourself
It ain't like anywhere else
It ain't like anywhere else
There's time to roll, I'm all done
It's time we better hit the road
I got work later on
It's time we better hit the road
California's been good to me
Hope it don't fall into the sea
Sometimes you got to save yourself
It ain't like anywhere else
It ain't like anywhere else
Sundown, red skies
Nobody's been around
Sundown, blue eyes
I kinda like this party town
California's treated me good
I pray to God that the hills
Don't fall into the sea
Sometimes you got to trust yourself
It ain't like anywhere else
It ain't like anywhere else
Raised up on mid-western dreams
Only a few shall get
What everyone shall need
I took my family's burden
Strapped it to my chest
A few hundred bucks,
And a kiss for luck
And I pointed my dreams west
To California
Come rescue me
California
I am almost free
I kept on driving to the setting sun
Galaxies of angels
Welcome everyone
I took my heart out of its box
Attached it to my sleeve
Well, I will be here every night
Because that's what I believe
In California
Come rescue me
California
I am almost free
I will find my love
I will know my peace
I will seek my truth
I am almost free
I am almost free...
I am almost free
I am almost free
I am almost free
In California
I am almost free
In California
I am almost free
(Rescue me)
California
On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself,
this could be heaven or this could be hell
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...
Welcome to the hotel california
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the hotel california
Any time of year, you can find it here
Her mind is tiffany-twisted, she got the mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget
So I called up the captain,
please bring me my wine
He said, we haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...
Welcome to the hotel california
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
They living it up at the hotel california
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis
Mirrors on the ceiling,
The pink champagne on ice
And she said we are all just prisoners here, of our own device
And in the master's chambers,
They gathered for the feast
The stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
relax, said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
I was converted to the other side
From the day I'd gotten there
I met a girl who took me on a ride
I was young I had no cares
When I moved to California
California
She played me records I had never heard
While we toked on purple hairs
Who, Zeppelin, Beatles
Kiss, The Rolling Stones
While we played guitars in air
When I moved to California
California
California
California love !
Venice Beach and P.O.P.
Station 26 was free
Jeff Ho and Horizons west
Dogtown Skates they were the best
Hang Ten, O.P. were the brands
Don't forget the two-tone Vans
I miss the Apple and my schoolyard boys
Nothing ever will compare
But now I skateboard
With my surfer girl
And we really are a pair
When I moved to California

Luci su te California
È un'America se ci sei tu
Io volo solo per te California
Sognando quei viali di cielo all'ingiù
(carillon…sei come un carillon…sei come un carillon)
Barche col tuo nome dal Mississippi
Mi ricordi tu
Parlano di te le foto degli hippy
Erano gli anni dei capelli blu
Erano in me quegli anni di pace
Dalle Hawaii in sù
Portami con te sei tu la mia luce
Tanto ai giornali non ci credo più
Tante bugie vendono di più
Luci su te California
È un'America se ci sei tu
io volo solo per te California
Sognando quei viali di cielo all'ingiù (carillon…)
Oggi sono qui tra corse spaziali segni di follia
Non c'è più allegria negli occhi dei figli
Solo sbadigli dai diciotto in su
Ti ho rivista lì tra mille ricordi con occhiali scuri
Parlano di te le mie lacrime amare
Eri sognare dall'Europa in giù
Come un satellite mi manchi tu
Luci su te California
È un'America se ci sei tu
Io volo solo per te California
Sognando quei viali di cielo all'ingiù
Luci su te California
È un'America se ci sei tu
Io volo solo per te California
Sognando quei viali di cielo all'ingiù
(carillon…sei come un carillon…sei come un carillon)
In una strada forse in una stanza
dietro mille finestre
noi guardavamo nella stessa direzione
e la storia si ferma
quando i padri sono stanchi
l'odio ci passava sopra
ma non ci separava
era California era via di là
quanto fiato nella gola
per rifare la realtà
era California era via di là
verso cosa non sapevo ma lo respiravo sembrava cielo
Guardami ora e dimmi cosa vedi
non è tutto passato
ma il sogno che interrompi non sarà più uguale
quasi senza le stelle
forse è più bello navigare
non c'è niente di perso e che non possa continuare
Siamo noi la california
siamo noi la libertà
pugni chiusi nelle tasche
sangue fragole realtà
siamo noi la california
siamo noi la libertà
siamo noi che lo guardiamo e ci sembra ancora
ancora cielooooooo
Okay, this guy walks into a bar
No, I'm just, I'm just fucking with you, I'm kidding
No, there's this, this young bull and this old bull
And they're standing on top of a hill
And I tried to tell you before
That, that's why I left California
So they're standing on top of this hill, right?
And they're looking out over a pasture full of cows, whole fucking pasture
And the young bull turns to the old bull and he goes
"I got this really good idea"
And they old bull's like, "Yeah?"
And I tried to tell you before
That, that's why I left California
"Yeah", he's like, "Yeah, yeah, I got this really good idea
Let's run down that hill and fuck one of those cows"
And the old bull just looks at him, you know he's just looking at him
He's like, "Look, I got a better idea"
And the young bull's like, "Oh yeah?
What's your fucking brilliant idea?"
And the old bull goes
And I tried to tell you before
That, that's why I left California
And the old bull goes, "Let's walk down that hill
And fuck all of those cows dig?"
You know, like he ain't been in town long or something, I dunno
And I tried to tell you before
California, California
You're such a wonder that I think I'll stay in bed
Big time rollers, part time models
So much to plunder
That I think I'll sleep instead
I don't know this sea of neon
Thousand surfers, whiffs of freon
And big nights back east with Rhoda
California please
There's a moment
I've been saving
A kind of crucifix around this munchkin land
Up north freezing, little me drooling
That's Entertainment's on at eight
Come on Ginger slam
I don't know this sea of neon
Thousand surfers, whiffs of freon
And my new grandma Bea Arthur
Come on over
Ain't it a shame that at the top
Peanut butter and jam they served you
Ain't it a shame that at the top
Still those soft skin boys can bruise you
Yes I fell for a streaker
I don't know this sea of neon
Thousand surfers, whiffs of freon
Ain't it a shame
That all the world can't enjoy your mad traditions
Ain't it a shame that all the world
Don't got keys to their own ignitions
Life is the longest death in California
California
You're such a wonder that I think I'll stay in bed
So much to plunder that I think I'll sleep instead
You're such a wonder that I think I'll stay in bed
California sun
Shining through the window
Beating up and down
Like a yellow yo-yo
It's just the sun
Annie's got a gun
She knows how to use it
Points it at the sun
It's a California shoot out
She's got a gun
California Sunset
Orange skies by day
California dreaming
The California way
S.... another stranger
Lying by the pool
Dying to be near you
O' we look so cool
Come on
Too much time spent in stormy weather
I didn't think it would be so cold
Our fire's burnin' now that we're together
It almost feels like I'm halfway home
Is that a sign up ahead
Like a star pointing to your bed
Keep your tired eyes open
Sparks flyin' through your head
Won'tcha take me back, back there
Take me back to California
Take me back to California
Yeah
Golden songs floatin' down the river
Got the gold shinin' in your hair
I wish this road could go forever
Not too long, babe, and I'll be there
Yeah
Is that a sign up ahead
Like a star pointing to your bed
Keep your tired eyes open
Sparks flyin' through your head
Won'tcha take me back, back there
Take me back to California
Take me back to California
Yeah yeah yeah
Won'tcha take me back, back there
Take me back to California
Take me back to California
Take me back to California
Won'tcha take me back, back there
Take me back to California
Take me back to California
See your reflection in the mind
You keep your revelations wide
They knew just where to draw the line
You let them got you every time
Though it breaks your heart
We had to sell the farm
Back to California where it's warm
It fell around you like the stars
You picked up everything they dropped
And though it breaks you like a song
You had some secrets of your own
And though it breaks your heart
We had to sell the farm
Back to California where it's warm
It's warm, it's warm
And though it breaks your heart
We had to sell the farm
Nights were just too long
With all your children gone
Would it keep you strong?
If I said it with a song
I open my eyes
To see her face
In a daze we engaged
Last night I slept about an hour
To fill her needs and desires
One more night in California
One more night with you
One more night
Ya she's alright (she's alright)
One more night (yeah)
One more night in California
Dom dom dom baby one more night
Dom dom dom baby one more night
I need to catch a ride
To the south side
I grabbed a patty and a shake
I felt the earthquake
I jumped in the cab for LAX
I flipped him a tip
hey man!
Then I split
One more night in California
One more night with you
One more night
But she's alright
She's alright
One more night (yeah)
One more night in California
Night in California
Night in California
Night in California
dom dom dom baby one more night
dom dom baby one more night
I opened my eyes to see her face
But she's alright
she's alright
One more night (yeah)
one night in California
She's alright
She's alright
One more night..yeahhh
One more night in California
Night in California
Night in California
[Lil' Rob Talking]
Southern California
Home of low-ridin'
Gang-bangin' and shit
California
[Chorus](Lil' Rob)
I was raised in the streets of California
(Southern California, home of car-hoppin' and
bomb-droppin'
West coast pop lockin', walkin' how we're talkin')
I was raised in the streets of California
(I was raised in Californ-I-A
Where homeboys die everyday over some shit they say)
[Verse 1]
I've always been down with hydros
And cholos, the low-lows
The six-threes, the six-fours
The rucas with no clothes
Used to drop the two-door
Gang-bang in a four door
Puttin' bullet holes
In the doors of a Ford Explorer
Hard-core, and I got more and more
Where that came from?
Welcome to my kingdom
The streets are my freedom
I need em', I feed em', I feedback
They need that, like I need my weed sack
Take a toque, wacha
Where were we at?
Oh, California the golden state
Controllin' states, pushin' weight
Where vatos like me hallucinate
bouble up while you fumble up
Fuckin' up, you fuckin' punk
If there's no room
Then we'll stick em' by the fuckin' pump
[Chorus]
[Verse 2]
Slippin' and dippin', grippin' the wheel
Lockin' it up
Dump the back corner
Pop the front one up
Put the convertable top down
It's too good to stop now
This California livin'
Smoke up on the ceilin'
Party at the roof, off the hook
Got every drug up in the book
You don't believe me
See for yourself and take a closer look
Low rider car shows
Hoppin' till the truck blows
Catch me at the bar
Havin' a beer with my uncles
Pacifico with no lime
That's what I drink at all times
Creased up Davis'
I'm always out like where the pavement is
I come from the underground
The underground like where the basement is
It's California, people have a hard time facin' it
[Chorus]
[Verse 3]
Lowrider bicycles, tricycles
Cold as icycles
Smokin' chronic shit
So high, you would think my eyes are closed
I got my eyes on those
Who be thinkin' that my eyes are closed
But there not ese
Trucha when you get too close
You'll know, that I know
What you think? I don't know
I might explode, unload
Reload, and unload
You broke the code, you got's to go
Ain't no future in your frontin'
Crazy California homeboy
Where the cuete's bustin'
California stylin', California ridin'
Whittier Boulevard to 'Frisco
Then back to Highland
I gots to do it like the locos do
Don't race your ride
Hop your ride like you're supposed to do, through
[Chorus]
Hello, California
Sure is strange to be here today
What's a boy from down in Austin
Doin' in the city of angels anyway?
So won't you come on out here with me?
Find out what you can or cannot see
Maybe gain a new perspective
Why we're so infected by our dreams
Yeah and baby, I'll be out here dreaming
And thinking about the life we could have
Yeah but you're back home in Texas
And I'm wondering when's the next time I get to hold you
I just wanna hold you
It's the sweetest kind of poison
Tackle you and take away your faith
Whiskey for a lifetime
Wreck your soul in smallest little taste
Yeah and baby, I'll be out here dreaming
And thinking about the life we could have
Well I'm stranded in Los Angeles
Wondering when's the next time I get to hold you
I just wanna hold you
I am just a guitar man that fell in love with you
Times good or bad, I'd take 'em all the same
You could have some 9 to 5 man comin' home to take your hand
You know he's never gonna do
Is this the life I dreamed of?
Guess it's just the way it all went down
But damn right I sure am happy
With the crazy piece of life that I have found
Yeah and baby, I'll be out here dreaming
And thinking about the life we could have
Yeah but you're back home in Texas
And I'm stranded in Los Angeles
Wondering when's the next time I get to hold you
California got her right
You will have to wait
Calling from The Golden Gate
Sentimental sparrows
Keeping me awake
Funny how the morning's late
Funny how the morning's late
Come around with your heavenly smile
Come around and drag me out again
After a while we can sit and watch them all rush by
Come around and drag me out again
Come around and drag me out again
Always wanted to leave
Always felt that I'd get stopped
But I could never see myself
In anybody else's arms
In anybody else's arms
Come around with your heavenly smile
Come around and drag me out again
After a while we can sit and watch them all rush by
Come around and drag me out again
Come around and drag me out again
Always wanted to leave
Always felt that I'd get stopped
But I could never see myself
No, I could never see myself
With anybody else
If you want a piece of my life
Get in line, baby get in line
If you wanna kiss then do it fast
Get in line, baby get in line
If you wanna practice, spill the past
Get in line, baby get in line
Get in line, baby get in line
California's angel
It's more than I can stand
Calling down the sunset's pain
Sentimental star unsolved
As soon as we wake
Funny in the morning state
Funny in this morning state
If you want a piece of my life
Get in line, baby get in line
If you wanna kiss then do it fast
Get in line, baby get in line
If you wanna practice, spill the past
Get in line, baby get in line
I will smile and chuckle till the last
Get in line, baby get in line
Get in line, baby get in line
Get in line, baby get in line
I am a stone Stuck here in the ground Holding onto nothing Why Is comfortable uncomfortable right now? I was made for more
Chorus: California, far from me Across the desert to the sea A million miles away to Somewhere I don't know Lift my feet from where I stand Down the street to foreign land Anywhere you lead me I will go
Still Before You now But I'm not standing still Move me now according to Your will I am ready for...
California, far from me Across the desert to the sea A million miles away to Somewhere I don't know Lift my feet from where I stand Down the street to foreign land Anywhere you lead me I will go
Goin' back to California
So many good things around
Don't wanna leave California
The sun seems to never go down
Some people may treat you ugly
Some treat you beautiful too
That's the way life is all over
So look for the good things for you
California, so many things to be free
California, that's where I wanna be
California, so many place for home
California, I'll be back there be for long
I'll be back there be for long
I'll be back there be for long
California, that's where I wanna be
California, I'll be back there for long
I'll be back there be for long
I'll be back there for long
Drive through the night with no end in sight.Ten hour shift with ten hours left.A rainy day when we pull into LA.Dreaming of my home three thousand miles away. Then I woke up in Southern California.A world away from the only life I've known.I'll spend a month stuck in California.People all around me but I never felt so alone.Hollywood is nice but it will never be my home sweet home.Three more weeks in La Mirada.Money's running out and it's gonna get harder.Wastin' my days away.Today I woke up at three, tomorrow we'll do the same.Put on my aftershave, get dressed and out the door by 4:58.We hit the streets find a place to eat.Grab fourteen friends and jump into the van.Three to a seat we head to the beach.Ain't got no money the waves are always free.I've found a home in Southern California.Sleep on a couch crash in with the Jones'.It's not so bad being stuck in Southern California.I've come to find however far away I'm not alone.I've found a family a second home sweet home.Savannah, Georgia, still on my mind.City of Angels residential for the mean time.Watching time go by, my days turned into nights.Monday we take to the sky.Washington state. Then back for two days, say goodbye, and drive away.We drive away.
I'm not falling for anymore of these tricks,
I'm so tired of everything here,
The sun is calling me to the west,
Everyone's having fun out there,
My bags are packed as I'm looking out the window,
Everything is so outdated here,
I wanna move west where the sun is shining,
I want my friends to all be there,
[Chorus:]
Let's pack up and move to California,
She's got lots of friends out there,
We'll never get bored cause we can go boardin',
Let's let the sunshine take us there,
I'm tired of taking it slow,
So tired but I'm not sleeping,
I'm wired about to pick up my board,
Cause we're all headed out for the weekend,
Let's pack up and move to California,
Hop on board before we get older,
Raise your hand and shout for California
Come on,
Come on,
Come on,
Come on,
[Chorus]
Come on,
Come on,
Come on,
Come on,
[Chorus x2]
Let's pack up and move to California,
Hop on board before we get older,
Raise your hands we're headed for the border,
Come on,
Come on,
Come on,
Well, he was from a small town
In Northern Mississippi
She was raised on the Puget Sound
A third generation hippie
Fate would take them to L.A. County
And get them stuck in a traffic jam
And El Camino and a red Trans Am
Burst stereo was blaring Dylan
The bootleg sessions
And all the times, they are a-changing
Made a pretty good impression
She looked over and caught him smiling
Under the California setting sun
They fell in love on the one-o-one
California, California
California dreams come true
Well, they got in with the in crowd
And got off on the rock 'n' roll
Cocaine spree and the music's loud
Backstage at the Hollywood ball
They got the house and to paint the Canyon
The partied at the viper room
Blending into the neon gloom
California, California
California dreams come true
California, California
California dreams come true
Well, you see them down on the sunset strip
Trying so hard to be so hip
Manhattan Beach to Malibu
It's all about the ocean view
And who you know in Hollywood
It's cut throat but it's understood
Champagne Cooley, drink it down
You're the toast of tinsel town
California, California
California dreams come true
California, California
California sun
Shining through the window
Beating up and down
Like a yellow yo-yo
It's just the sun
Annie's got a gun
She knows how to use it
Points it at the sun
It's a California shoot out
She's got a gun
California Sunset
Orange skies by day
California dreaming
The California way
S.... another stranger
Lying by the pool
Dying to be near you
O' we look so cool
Yes we do
California if I could own ya
There’d be some changes made
Can’t help but worry
When I see the state you’re in
You got TVs and you got movies
Yeah but I am watching you
There’s too many people
Living life like the movies do
In California
Well, I can’t help but worry
What else can I do?
Well, I can’t help but worry
When I see it’s down to me and you
You got earthquake, make your house shake
But I’ve been shook, I’ve been shook before
I don’t think it matters
So I’ll just try to shake some more
You got redwoods and you got rivers
But you’ve got this automobile
You just can’t help but worry
You can see how bad you feel
In California
And I can’t help but worry
When I see the state you’re in
I know one thing…
There’s too many people
I remember I was in the tanning salon
When I heard that River Phoenix was gone
They say that only the good die young
But that ain't true where I come from
California...California
It took a lot for me to say
I want to walk away, LA
From the sharks and the Chardonnay
In California...California
4 in the morning we were in our beds
The swaying palm trees above our heads
Woke up to a primal rumbling sound
When the Northridge quake ripped open the
ground
California...California
It took a lot for me to say
I want to walk away LA
from the sharks and the Chardonnay
In California... In California
Golden State, I'm back in the Golden State
Golden State of Mind
Golden State, I'm back In the Golden State
Golden State of Mind
It took a lot for me to say
I want to walk away LA
From the sharks and the Chardonnay
In California... In California
Walk, walk away
I remember I was in the tanning salon
When I heard that River Phoenix was gone...
I got a cottage with a sea view
I got a regular summer tan
I've been working up the courage to call you all year, ohhh
There is nothing I can say
There are no good words left anyway
Besides people are cruel
And the world still moves without you, ohhh
Welcome to my Californian home
You don't have to call me you can leave when you want
There's a picture by my bed
There's a light in your eyes
I don't know
Well I don't know
Why you still feel alone
And we were dying from the get go
I was dreaming but you never believed
I was trying to fit myself in the spaces between, ohhh
And you were kind and sometimes cruel
You said all the world's love couldn't satisfy you
And nothing could have hurt me as much as the truth
Ohhh darling
Welcome to my Californian home
You don't have to call me you can leave when you want
There's a picture by my bed
There's a light in your eyes
I don't know
Tell me 'cause I want to find out
Do you still feel alone?
Love is elusive when you search for it
Don't I know
Happiness sometimes it just creeps in
Don't I know
I'm going crazy
I've been wondering
Do you still feel alone?
I need to find
Some kind of peace of mind
I need to find
I got a cottage with a sea view
I got a regular summer tan
I know that I deserve more
But I still want you
Welcome to my Californian home
You don't have to call me you can leave when you want
There's a picture by my bed
There's a light in your eyes
I don't know
Tell me 'cause I want to find out
Do you still feel?
Welcome to my California
(I need to find)
Even though I'm no good for you
(Some kind of peace of mind)
There's a part of me still waiting for you
(I need to find)
Welcome to my happy ending
(I need to find)
Even though it's fun contending
(Some kind of peace of mind)
I know
I know you can't look back, you can never go back
Welcome to my Californian home
You can never go back
Welcome to my Californian home
I know
You can never go back
Welcome to my Californian home
I know
You can never go back
I know I need to find, do you still feel?
Welcome to my Californian home
(I need to find)
Even though I'm no good for you
(Some kind of peace of mind)
Deep inside there's a piece of me, there's a piece of me
Still waiting for you to come home
Welcome to my Californian home
(I need to find)
I know you can never look back, you can never look back again
(Some kind of peace of mind)
But tell me 'cause I want to find out
Do you still feel alone?
Oh nooo
Do you still feel alone?
Don't you know baby I'm a leading man
I dig down deep when I say I love you
Well I can hold my own with the best of them
I guarantee you, you never seen nothin'
Nothin' like this again
California say that you love me
From all the darkness I couldn't break through
Now, I miss the ocean when I go to sleep
Oh man, it's gonna break my heart
Don't you know that I did the things I did
I rubbed your back when you were sleeping
But all along baby it was understood
That you were leaving, absolutely
The very first day we met
California say that you miss me
From all the darkness I couldn't break through
I'm gonna miss you
I'm gonna miss you
I'm gonna miss you
I'm gonna miss ya
I'm gonna miss you
I'm gonna miss ya
I'm gonna miss you
Oh my god
I had the most amazing time last night
I dreamt I saw you again
That's when the flashback started to begin
They started slow
But they picked up fast
So I got off my ass
And I ran away to Californ-I-A
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
(Californ-I-A)
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
Oh my god
I should've never let you leave my side
Should've never left you alone
It probably seems like I'm never coming home
But I'm so lost l
Living life fast
Please get off your ass
So I won't waste away in Californ-I-A
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
(Californ-I-A)
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la
Just so you know
I'm never comin' home
I'm having a great day
In Californ-I-A
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
I went to California
I met a lovely man
He rubs a wedding finger
Without a wedding band
O he knows better anyhow
His kisses are just all in his eyes
O I know better I know better
Still I wish I was by your side
The taxi open window
The summer on the wind
I'd ask about a lover
But how would I begin?
O he knows better anyhow
His kisses are just old in his eyes
O I know better I know better
Still I wish I was by your side
O he knows better anyhow
His kisses are just old in his eyes
O I know better I know better
California
going out to California
gonna let the water warm my clothes
I'm alone but I'm not lonely
gonna trade the weather for the Western coast
no don't cry
I'll be back and I'll
bring the sun to shine
in your eyes
on your shoulders
Sunset Boulevard will strip for money
Mulholland is a long drag for the lonely hearts
down along the Imperial Valley
runs a river of homelessness and cinema stars
don't say
the trip's been done
a hundred thousand times
cause this one
is mine
so I will work at what work finds me
and I will take what comfort I can get
I'll be back when I'm good and ready
California doesn't seem to think I'm ready yet
no don't cry
I'll be back and I'll
bring the sun to shine
in your eyes
We've been on the run
Driving in the sun
Looking out for #1
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Hustlers grab your guns
Your shadow weighs a ton
Driving down the 101
California here we come
Right back where we started from
California!
Here we come!
On the stereo
Listen as we go
Nothing's gonna stop me now
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Pedal to the floor
Thinkin' of the roar
Gotta get us to the show
California here we come
Right back where we started from
California!
[10 seconds of instrumental to open]
[DJ Quik]
Yeah. I wanna take this time to dedicate this song to my city
To my county - fuck it the whole state
Let me take a moment to tell you just what it is
C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A is the biz
Celebrity down to Cherokee back to the kids
Every level of livin status except for the mid
A paradise situation if that's what you make it
Red and blue equal yellow tape if that's where you take it
Forest fires and earthquakes and manmade lakes
A prescription for chronic tonic to ease your aches
And if you dress right, you can have the best night
Two or three at a time and let the rest fight
The diamonds and red gold might give you a head cold
You freeze like a Jello mold when you hit the light
On Rosecranz you can't make a U-turn
Cross the T flats and try to make new birds or shoot back
It's war and peace with no help from police
Either you restin in peace or tryin to conquer the streets
in California
[Chorus] + (AMG)
Everybody want it but you can't get it
Gangster to the hustler, live to straight win it
It's California mayne (California) it's California mayne (California)
We got movie stars and we got criminals
Boys from the hood and fly saditty hoes
It's California mayne (California) it's California mayne (California)
[DJ Quik]
In Inglewood they come in yellowbone, Compton they come with shots
Carson got the smart ones, Watts got the hots
Glass houses in Linnwood, see how they hop
With the ladies gettin ready in hair and nail shops
In Bellflower Lakewood ladies taste good
It stay hood, visitin but stay if they could
With KDAY bangin out, betray us they stood
by the burger stand tellin stories on the wood
With all these dudes and all these bad broads
and all this good food and all these fast cars
Ain't no wonder why Cali got all these glad stars
Forty dollar shots gettin turned up at the bar
It's the Pacific coast {?} how could they doubt you
I did this track out of town thinkin about you
From Eureka through Ventura down to San Diego
California es en fuego, fuego.
[Chorus]
[AMG]
Leather and wood, I'm good to the plus
Don't even trip, I did the shoes and the bus
76 and Crenshaw was the locale
I used to smoke out in between my vo-cals
Wherever it's cheap, wherever it's Q
Whatever California want us to do
If you in the red and they get you in blue
Represent your concrete keepin it true
And all my girls in the world, I love you all
I never want you to lose, I won't let you fall
But you gotta get better at lovin a nigga, lovin yourself
Instead of steady comin up on the wealth
I been here a while, I know a pretty smile is a trap
To pull a nigga right up out of his cap
But give me 20 minutes I can widen the gap
It's California baby on the left of the map, ah-hah
Well I don’t think it’s odd
To stand before god
And solemnly swear when there’s love in the air
And I don’t think it’s weird
When the one thing you fear
Is losing the one thing that’s holding you dear
Well I don’t think it’s strange
I don’t think it’s insane
It turns the world around
All the birds keeping singing
And the bells keep ringing
And the heart keeps bringing you home to
California
Where the warm sun shines
California
Hear the wind blowing chimes
Californ-i-a
Though you’re far away
Your love is here today
True love in your heart
Like a flame in the dark
May you have may you hold
Till death do you part
‘Cause two of a kind
It ain’t easy to find
Coming out of the gloomy
And led by the blind
It don’t take much to see
That what’s meant to be
Is right in front of me
When the birds keeping singing
And the bells keep ringing
And the heart keeps bringing you home to
California
Where the warm sun shines
California
Hear the wind blowing chimes
Californ-i-a
Though you’re far away
Your love is here today
We’re sitting on a real celebration
Thank heavens what a fine situation
Shoot the cannon blow the horn
Don't you know baby i'm a leading man
I dig down deep when i say i love you
And i can hold my own with the best of them
I guarantee you, you will never see nothing like this again
California, i hope that it wakes you
From all of the darkness
That i couldn't break through
'cause i'm gonna miss you, i'm gonna miss you
I'm gonna miss you, i'm gonna miss you
Don't you know that i did the things i could
I rubbed your back when you were sleeping
But all along baby it was understood
That you were leaving, absolutely
Since the very first day we met
California, i hope that it wakes you
From all of the darkness
That i couldn't break through
'cause i'm gonna miss you, i'm gonna miss you
I'm gonna miss you, i'm gonna miss you
Like i miss the ocean
When i go to sleep
I miss the way you sing low
So I can't hear your voice over
The radio in my car
But you know every word they say
You knew you just the right thing to say of
Distance ripped us farther and farther and farther away
I'll see you soon
If you're coming back this way again
Come back from California
All of us here in Florida
Are starved for your attention
We're starved for your attention
Come back from California
All of us here in Florida
Are starved for your attention
We're starved for your attention
Maybe I fell too fast
Maybe I pushed you away
Now you're gone and I'm afriad
That you're never coming back this way again (should be way not away)
I'll see you soon
If you'll come back here
I'll see you soon
Just say that you want to see me too
Come back from California
All of us here in Florida
Are starved for your attention
We starve for your attention
Come back from California
All of us here in Florida
Are starved for your attention
We're starved for your attention
You know I won't mind if you
Monopolize all my time
I won't say a thing at all
I won't say a word no
So come back from California
My daddy was a banking man
My mama was a thief
My mama taught me how to stand
My daddy taught me how to cheat
I will rob you till you're blind
I will love you till I cry
I will kiss you seven times
When I crucify you
Tell the wind to find herself another man
Blow a thousand kisses to forgotten lovers
Touch me where my thinking turns to circumstance
Hop into my car we'll drive to California
My mama was a wanted man
My daddy was a priest
My mama taught me how to stand
My daddy taught me how to please
I will rob you till you're blind
I will love you till I cry
I will kiss you seven times
When I crucify you
My daddy was a banking man
My mama was a thief
My mama taught me how to stand
Aéroport, aérogare
Mais pour tout l'or m'en aller
C'est le blues, l' coup d' cafard
Le check out assuré
Vienne la nuit et sonne l'heure
Et moi je meurs
Entre apathie et pesanteur
Où je demeure
Changer d'optique, prendre l'exit
C'est l'osmose, on the road
De l'asphalte sous les pieds
Vienne la nuit, c'est le jet lag
Qui me décale
L.A.P.D. me donne un blâme
C'est pas le drame
Se faire un trip, s'offrir un streap
Sous le soleil en plein midi
Six a.m., j'suis offset
J'suis l'ice dans l'eau, j'suis mélo, dis
Mon amour, mon Wesson
Mon artifice
La chaleur du canon
C'est comme une symphonie
C'est sexy le ciel de Californie
Sous ma peau j'ai L.A. en overdose
So sexy le spleen d'un road movie
Dans l'rétro ma vie qui s'anamorphose
Feel it, the calm after the storm.
As still as I can be.
I'm finally all alone
until I fall asleep.
Did I escape or am I captured?
Trapped in a cage of rear view mirror eyes.
Triangles that look like faces.
This is what I get
for my revenge.
A hidden microphone,
an amber alert implanted
under my skin.
It's just in my head but
it takes me over.
It makes me forget why I'm on my way.
These four years feel like a hundred.
West-bound,
driving all alone to make sure that you know.
I've been running scared without you.
I drove all night to tell you.
In dreams I've seen your face with
another in my place.
I know it was another life but I never could forget you.
I never could forget you.
We set it up (we set it up)
like a house of cards in a hurricane.
We didn't think it would ever make sense.
He set us up (he set us up),
he knew just where to plant it.
It knocked me over,
it made me forget how I fell in love.
How much I really cared.
West-bound,
driving all alone to make sure that you know.
I've been running scared without you.
I drove all night to tell you.
In dreams I've seen your face with
another in my place.
I know it was another life but I never could forget you.
I never could forget you.
You'll see me there like a familiar stranger standing on the street.
I'll say a prayer, I'll introduce myself like it's the first time we'd ever meet.
In California, I'd learn that sometimes you have to run away.
In California, I'd find myself again.
West-bound,
driving all alone to make sure that you know.
I've been running scared without you.
I drove all night to tell you.
In dreams I've seen your face with
another in my place.
A new life is what we need
A new life is out of here
Little moments, don't you know ?
Maybe go to California, where it's warm
Get some work, I can see
You and I breaking waves
In the sunshine
Don't start slipping away
Don't start slipping away
No sad refrains
They belong to yesterday
Don't start slipping away
Billy doesn't love me but he keeps good company
He only comes here when there's no-one else to see
I don't mind if he comes around
I know the winter gets him down
Billy doesn't love me but he keeps good company
We can't afford a ticket but we can always dream
It looks so good you could almost kiss the screen
We've seen the blue, we've seen the smiles
We can get a map and count the miles
It looks so good you could almost kiss the screen
And when we get there, what will we find ?
All the way to California, all the way to California
Why don't you come with me
And I'll get you through January in California
Why don't you come and lie down next to me
When you're feeling like a river lost in the deep blue
Under covers you're a child
We'll be there in a little while
Why don't you come and lie down next to me
And when we get there, what will we find ?
Will we find something we left behind ?
All the way to California, all the way to California
Why don't you some with me
And I'll get you through January in California
Driven through the canyons I was
Dazzled by the mountains and we didn't go very far
Close enough to heaven if you
Climb up on a mansion you too can swing like a star
I tried to get inside I bought a
Ticket with my pride and I was gone right out of my head
I went out for a ride to go
Across a great divide and I ended up at home instead
California
I thought I should see
Now I'm back home, yeah
With twelve little pieces of me
I was just a passenger a
Rider on the tremors that were shaking all our beds at night
A visitor a stranger thought I
Might pass for a regular if I just kept out of the lights
Tore my heart out from my chest
Mixed it up in my mind with the best freshest pieces of my soul
Chose the ones I loved the most
Drove 'em all down to the coast
Threw 'em in a big black hole
California
I thought I should see
Now I'm back home, yeah
With twelve little pieces of me
California
I dreamed I would find
Some kinda sorta pick-me-up
Screw California
And friends that are never there
In places that they oughtta
Pretend that they even care
From her false family
She could light you up like a holiday tree
In a summer month
So lead us there...
So screw California
And the ice that will never melt
From hearts of
The modern children of Cicero
From her false family
She could light you up like a holiday tree
In a summer month
So lead us there...
We've been on the run, driving in the sun
Looking out for number one
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Hustlers grab your guns, your shadow weighs a ton
Driving down the 101
California here we come
Right back where we started from
California
Here we come
On the stereo, listen as we go
Nothing's gonna stop me now
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Pedal to the floor, thinkin' of the roar
Gotta get us to the shore
California here we come
Right back where we started from
California
Here we come
California
Come with me to California
We'll lose our troubles in the sun
Let's fly away
Let's make our grand escape before we come undone
You know I've always been a dreamer
How you laugh at all my silly silly dreams
Let's fly away
Let's make our big mistake before we come undone
Before we come undone, yeah
Oh, come with me to California
Before we come undone
Come with me to California
We'll lose our troubles in the sun
Get, get, get drunk
Let?s get, get, get drunk
Let?s get, get, get drunk
Let?s get, get, get
California show me love
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California throw it up
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California show me love
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California
So high, we'll ride all night
Comin' straight outta Cali, what? The 818 valley, what?
323, fuckin' horse night alley
And from Highland to Clayton, all these bitches are hatin'
'Cause the shit that we're saying is the shit that they're playin'
If we don't make it, we'll take it, if ain't real then we'll fake it
Open your mouth and I'll break it, don't give a fuck if you hate it
We're looking for the 6 chicks, down with the 6 dicks
Rollin' all day, gettin' buzzed, it?s ridiculous
Horny like the sickness, quickies with the quickness
Pussy like it?s business, work it like it?s fitness
Listen, while I spit this, gamin' all these bitches
Now I'm gonna hit this and fuck until I'm dickless
California show me love
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California throw it up
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California show me love
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California
So high, we'll ride all night
Let's get girls in the front, let?s put the sluts in the back
Let's push 'em all together, now let?s put 'em on our laps
Alcohol and drugs and California love
They got me ready to party on this sweetened Bacardi
From the north to the south, this state's all about
Silicon lips and all the fake tits
California girls, best in the world
Best in the backseat, so let?s get fuckin' nasty
I'm a pirate on the streets of California
Movin' and cruisin', we're boozin' all night to the mornin'
So from dust 'till dawn, you know Undead is always on
Hit it once like a bomb, hit it twice and then I'm gone
California show me love
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California throw it up
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California show me love
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California
All night till the mornin?
You don't wanna step on us, we leave the club fucked up
Come on down and say what's up? Don't front 'cause I ain't buzzed
Johnny's here to fuck you up, J-Dog pass the 40 up
You know I'll be here all night and Undead 'till the day we die
California show me love
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California throw it up
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California show me love
Get buzzed, let's get fucked up
California
All night till the mornin?
Get, get, get drunk
Let?s get buzzed, let's get fucked up
Get, get, get drunk
Let?s get buzzed, let's get fucked up
Get, get, get drunk
Let?s get buzzed, let's get fucked up

I got a cottage with a sea view
I got a regular summer tan
I been working up the courage to call you all year
(Ooh)
But there are nothing i can say and there are no good words left anyway
Besides people are cruel and the world still moves without you
(Ooh)
Welcome to my Californian home, you don't have to call me you can leave when you want
There's a picture above my bed and there's a light in your eyes
I don't know
Well I don't know whether you still feel alone
And we were dying from the get go
I was dreaming but you never believe
I was trying to fit myself into spaces between
(Ooh)
And you were kind and sometimes cruel
You said all the worlds love couldn't satisfy you
And nothing coulda hurt me as much as the truth
(Ooh, darlin)
Welcome to my Californian home, you don't have to call me you can leave when you want
There's a picture above my bed and there's a light in your eyes
I don't know but tell me coz I wanna find out do you still feel alone
Love is illusive when you search for it
And don't I know
Happiness sometimes it just creeps in
And don't I know it
I'm going crazy I've been wonderin do you still feel alone?
I need to find some kind of peace of mind
I need to find
I got a cottage with a sea view
I got a regular summer tan
I know that I deserve more but I still want you
Welcome to my Californian home, you don't have to call me you can leave when you want
There's a picture above my bed and there's a light in your eyes
I don't know but tell me coz I wanna find out do you still feel
Welcone to my California
Even though I'm no good for ya
There's a part of me still waitin for ya
(Oh oh oh)
Welcome to my happy endin
Even though it's fun pretendin I know
When I came back home from the USA
I had nothin' in my pockets and not a lot to say
Though I knew somehow we would meet real soon
But the way you've been avoidin' me
It's like I'm livin' on the moon
Here I am on this side of the stars
Livin' in California
And sometimes I get out of reach in the bars
Dreamin' about my life
And maybe one day I'll take a wife
Though I spent some time on the evil road
I've done things that I'm ashamed of
Oh man it's such a heavy load
Though I knew somehow we would meet real soon
But the way you've been avoidin' me
It's like I'm livin' on the moon
Here I am on this side of the stars
Livin' in California
And sometimes I get out of reach in the bars
Dreamin' about my life
And maybe one day I'll take a wife
Oh
I miss you girl
Your dreams are more than I can take
You are the love of my life
But I could be my biggest mistake
Ah babe my heart's turnin' like a wheel
I feel emotion for you but I just can't tell if it's real
When I came back home from the USA
I had nothin' in my pockets and not a lot to say
Though I knew somehow we would meet real soon
But the way you've been avoidin' me
It's like I'm livin' on the moon
Here I am on this side of the stars
Livin' in California
And sometimes I get out of reach in the bars
Dreamin' about my life
And maybe one day I'll take a wife
Oh ooooh baby oh I miss you girl
When I came back home from the USA
I had nothin' in my pockets and not a lot to say

But the way you've been avoidin' me
It's like I'm livin' on the moon

Let's go to California now
We've got to cross this great big world somehow
Don't say "no"
We must go
You're scared you'll make some big mistake, but I forgive you
This is a risk you have to take, and I'll be with you
And I'll hold you
I told you
Leave all your cares and fears behind
There should be one thing on your mind
Don't say "no"
We must go
Don't put any clothes back on
That's just how
I'll remember this day when we've gone
But right now...
That's just the weirdest thing I've ever heard
Oh but I'm ready, just say the word
And I'll hold you
I told you
Anything you want to do
I just know
That I'll want to do it too
But we must go
Anything you want to do
I just know
That I'll want to do it too
But we must go
Sitting in a park in Paris, France
Reading the news and it sure looks bad
They won't give peace a chance
That was just a dream some of us had
Still a lot are left to see
But I wouldn't want to stay here
It's too old and cold and settled in its ways here
Oh, but california
California I'm coming home
I'm going to see the folks I dig
I'll even kiss a sunset pig
California I'm coming home
I met a redneck on a Grecian isle
Who did the goat dance very well
He gave me back my smile
But he kept my camera to sell
Oh the rogue, the red red rogue
He cooked good omelettes and stews
And I might have stayed on with him there
But my heart cried out for you, California
California I'm coming home
Oh make me feel good rock'n roll band
I'm your biggest fan
California, I'm coming home
Oh it gets so lonely
When you're walking
And the streets are full of strangers
All the news of home you read
Just gives you the blues
Just gives you the blues
So I bought me a ticket
I caught a plane to Spain
Went to a party down a red dirt road
There were lots of pretty people there
Reading rolling stone, reading vogue
They said, how long can you hang around?
I said a week, maybe two,
Just until my skin turns brown
Then I'm going home to California
California I'm coming home
Will you take me as I am
Strung out on another man
California I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
Yeah
Take me as I am
Will you
I think I'm going back to California
Summer distant and it's all far way
It's all far
It's all far
Far away
I think I'll drift across the ocean now
Clouds looks so clear in your eyes
Let me bring you on my
Let me bring you on my friend
I think I'll fly across the ocean
I can watch the sky turning grey
I think I'm going back
I think I'll go back
I think I hear the whisper of old best friend
I think I hear the bells ringing in the square
California
Looking around
At the house through her hand
Falling apart
As the walls turn to sand
She's waiting
Taking the bait
Of a beautiful escape
Wasting away
On a perfect sunny day in California
Facing the door
As she slips through a crack
She smiles in the dark
Cause she ain't coming back
She's waiting
Taking the bait
Of a beautiful escape
She's killing mistakes
On a perfect sunny day in California
Taking the bait
Of a beautiful escape
Wasting away
The sun is rising up in New York
It's 3am on west coast time
When you took everything
And you left me far behind
Chorus:
There's no California
That's all I heard her say
Starin at this ocean
Feels so far away
I can see the sunset
All the skies are grey
She said she loves me
But not enough to stay
Since youve been gone this house feels empty
If you were lonely why'd you leave
Did I not give you everything you need?
It's a place where the skies are blue
Not a cloud cloud in the sky to speak of
Everyone's swimming in the surf
And palm trees line the streets you walk on
Showing off your brand new fan says
Bleach blond hottie get their ditches
And walking down the Walk of Fame 'cause
Sunset Strip's where you do your business
Meet me in California
Where you can have it all, yeah
We'll be in California
The sun is shining bright
And well it starts tonight
Yeah, yeah, tonight
Can I give it a try
Going swimming in your pool, yeah
The view from the Hills is so so gorgeous
Everyone's got their brand new boards for
Day and night they walk the carpet
Meet me in California
Where you can have it all, yeah
We'll be in California
The sun is shining bright
And well it starts tonight
Yeah, yeah, tonight
Can I give it a try
Where anybody, loves everybody
And everybody, hates on nobody
Where anybody can become, come, come somebody
Yeah, you've got California dreams where
Your souls so free to do whatever
It's like totally what it seems
Coz the west is best, always forever
Meet me in California
Where you can have it all, yeah
We'll be in California
The sun is shining bright
And well it starts tonight
Yeah, yeah, tonight
Can I give it a try
Yeah, you've got California dreams
I can't change how
Feelings will be shown
Don't blame you
You're nervous on your own
Propose the worst and I'm the first in line
Despite the rest it's not a bad sign
You mean the world to mean
The city and my soul disagree
Last time round fast
I'll see you on the way down
Life's a funny thing
And you can't bring yourself to face it if you want to
Now I shake here
For your sake dear
I was raised and I was born here
I couldn't leave California if I tried to
I can't say it now
Where I'm going to go
When I figure it out
You'll be the first to know
Do you understand that it's out of these hands of mine?
Despite our plans I've got to draw the line
And you still mean the world to mean and
The city and my soul disagree
Last time round fast
I'll see you on the way down
Life's a funny thing
And you can't bring yourself to face it if you want to
Now I shake here
For your sake dear
I was raised and I was born here
I couldn't leave California if I tried to
If I tried to
If I tried to
If I tried to
I can't change how feelings will be shown
Don't blame you
You're nervous on your own
Propose the worst and I'm the first in line
Last time round fast
I'll see you on the way down
Life's a funny thing
And you can't bring yourself to face it if you want to
Now I shake here
For your sake dear
I was raised and I was born here
I couldn't leave California if I tried to
Now I shake here
For your sake dear
I was raised and I was born here
*Trying to hook me up on the earpiece too
Yeah you keeping the 1st two wires or not*
I got a gig in California
Gonna make it big in California
Big lights, big dreams
It's all here for you
Everyone's a star in California
It's all about your car in California
Big rims, slim jims
Creeping up on ya
That's the way of life in California
Cali-for-ni-a
Won't you come my way
There's a place to stay in California
Now it's a funky dive, but when the guests arrive
You'll have the time of you life in California
It don't rain in California *southern*
There is always something for the pain in California
Cheap tricks, sweet chicks
Creeping up on ya
And now don't you say I didn't warn you
Cali-for-ni-a
Won't you come my way
There's a place to stay in California
Now it's a funky dive, but when the guests arrive
You'll have the time of you life in California
Ba Ba ba ba ba ba baa, do do do do do do , la la la la la la , ohhh ohh wee-ohh, ba ba ba ba ba baa-aaa aaa aaa
*The state of California (yes) consumes more water in one year (really) than Ohio*
I don't make no plans in California
Cali-for-ni-a
Won't you come my way
There's a place to stay in California
Now it's a funky dive, but when the guests arrive
You'll have the time of you life in California
I'm living it up. I'm living it up, I'm living it up in California
I'm living it up. I'm living it up, I'm living it up in California
Hey...
Baby baby won't you come my way (where)
To the state of Cali-for-ni-a (sure thing)
Baby baby when you hear me sing
There is only one way to go
And that's Cali-for-ni-a
C-A-L-I-for-ni-a
C-A-L-I-for-ni-a
And all the cell phones say brrr
You don't have to say please, just say thank you
Trust me (sure) its works
The state bird of California is a dunaughty parter coose??
The average person has one point 7 8 cars
Shame on you
And consumes many gallons of gasoline yearly
Much to much
Think about it
I will, thank you
I'm living it up, I'm living it up, I'm living it up in California
I'm living it up, I'm living it up, I'm living it up in California
You said you?d always be around
Lately I see you above the clouds
You said I?m always playing games
And nothing?s the same anymore
My, you are, you?ll always be
The girl who loves a man
The way a man should be
I can? believe what I?ve seen
?Cause I believe in you, my California girl
You remind me of all the things that were
It doesn?t matter anymore ?cause now you?re a movie star
Tell all the people that you?ve moved on
Tell them that you were loved before by me
We don?t understand each other any more
You?re always on my mind
I can? believe what I?ve seen
?Cause I believe in you, my California girl
She, she, I know she loves
Oh, she, she?s just a little crazy
?Cause you?re my, you?ll always be
You?ll always send a man away
Step all over me
Tell all the people that you?ve moved on
Tell them that you were loved before by me
We don?t understand each other any more
You?re always on my mind
Tell all the people that you?ve moved on
Tell them that you were loved before by me
We don?t understand each other any more
Life is full life is grey:
At its best it's just OK.
But I'm happy to report
Life is also short.
So I find myself back in California -
I'm a coolie for the tourists,
those happy Epicureans:
Evil spectres from my own suburban upbring.
As I reveal points of interest, I can chat so pleasantly,
But it's hard to be cheerful when you feel so hopeless
And there's no reason for this dark mood.
It will pass; it will return, but will I ever learn ?
And the children of privilege begging for my spare
change.
Do they need my assistance to purchase their intoxicants,
or would they best be served a swift kick
Put your hands up reach for the sky.
Do what I say or let the bullets fly.
Another life lost in the City of Angels.
No rest for the Wicked in the City of Angels.
Another dream dies in the City of Angels.
No mercy for the weak in the City of Angels.
Trudge through the angelic wasteland.
Pure scum between my toes.
Beacon of light beckon for me
But I choose to continue to roll.
Why oh why I ask my self again
What oh what has become of me
Angels of doom in hostile times.
Victims of our own reality.
Trapped inside.
Trapped inside a world I've sculpted without others' pain.
Built upon.
The bodies I've been compelled to slay.
Just another day in the Wild Wild West.
When push comes to shove you get put to the test.
Big dreams and palm trees cover up the crime scene, red line. No time.
Load another magazine.
No matter where I go, no matter where I stay
I always come back. CALIFORNIA
No matter where I go, no matter where I stay
I gotta get back. CALIFORNIA
Another dream dies in the City of Angels.
Where blood and money collide.
Constant fights on concrete battlefields.
Wage war on the Boulevard.
This is the hell that I call my home
And I'm home with the evil at heart.
Check check, HA HA HA.
Back again and again!
Fine, fresh, fierce, we got it on lock.
Winds of Plague.
From the block to the top.
Spin it again mother fucker.
Trapped inside, these demons break through.
Through my flesh, my blood - it runs blue
Born and raised, my birth place.
We roll in packs like a superior race.
Manifest Destiny, a joke to me.
Go back where you came from or you'll answer to me.
Cali sun, got me tan like Iraq
I first saw my baby on the Subway train
on my way home from a cue in White Plains
A pretty young thing, brown eyes and skin clean
with the poise of a queen though she was only 15
And I was 16, my mind was in a swirl,
and by the looks of this girl
I was a peasant
who did not have a chance or a prayer in the world
Just another nigga with them rasta curls
so she on the train did avoid me
Sick to her brain assumin' I would most likely be
a hustler, I said fuck it, she could never like me
or much less love
I knew she was special, never all of the above
And then I closed my eyes to envision me and her as one
on a California beach in the sun
When I opened my eyes, yo, the train ride was done
I glanced her way, only to receive nothing in return
knowing that one day I would earn
a chance with this woman trapped in a teen's body
I would play America, you could be John Gotti, I'm sayin...
[You're My Lady]
California, California
You remind me, You remind me
[You're My Lady]
California, Califonia
You remind me, You remind me
A whole year went by without seeing her once
It seemed that every day was as long as a month
And now it seemed days eternally
It's she I want, but also to be an MC is what I wanted
To earn a dollar, every other girl seemed sour
The only thing I pictured in my mind
was my California sunshine
I told my niggas in time, that girl would be mine
They called me crazy, assumin' that I was mad lazy
and lacked the monetary
assets, plus my style was not sanitary
'cause everybody knew she was fly with fitness
being witness to her once a year was cool
fuck Christmas
When I brought it up my niggas dismissed
ignoring the mockery
I kept it locked in my mind tightly
California you remind me
Yo, I didn't have my niggas behind me
but then, you were taken anyway
forcing me to postpone plan A
Cali-forn-i-ay...
Chorus
>From a distance
Analyzed my prey with persistence
comin' up with a system
it was straight, a phone call around eight
conversate for a while to find
the whole time it was a mutual attraction
and that news was old
I'm in bliss apparently she was watchin' me
and expected we to probably be
As coherent as the East Coast
and West Coast be
A B-Boy's dream, the serene
yin to my yang that was ragin'
I was amazed
this was all happenin' before a nigga got paid
And after the storm cleared from his parade
Now, there ain't such a thing as stress
She got my back, and with that
I know how it's blessed
A nigga who figured that the search wouldn't start
for another few years I would just stay apart
In love with the Triple X, Heiny and Hennessy
but now you remind me, California memory...

Too many times I've dreamt about you
Seen too many days without the sun
'cause I know it shines all the day through
And in too many ways, I miss the sun
(background singers:)
So wait for me california
I gotta see my way to you
(danny:)
Too many times I've my heart ache
None of those times have I felt you
So far to go, but how it's worthwhile
Just get me back where I belong
Your local mountains of love of such style
And every day is like a song
(background singers:)
So wait for me california
I gotta see my way to you
(danny:)
I need the kind of life you give me
It makes my love for you feel true
(background singers:)
So wait for me california
I gotta see my way to you
(danny:)
I need the kind of life you give me
I open my eyes to see her face
In a daze we engaged
last night i slept about an hour
to fill her needs and desires
CHROUS:
One more night in California
One more night with you
One more night
Yah, she's alright, she's alright
One more night, one more night
In California
Ineed to catch a ride
to the south side
I grabbed a Patty and a shake
I felt the earth quake
I jumped in a cab for LAX
I flipped him a tip, Hey man!
then I split
CHORUS
I opened my eyes to see her face
CHORUS(tag)
[Verse 1]
The days are growing colder, the nights and weekends too
I'm trading in my greens and reds for different shades of you
The stars are shinning bright now, falling down like autumn leaves
Painting pictures through their golden reds pictures of you and me
Your smile says you're happy but it's cheaper then our words
And your silence speaks so clearly but I swear I'll make this work
[Chorus]
On nights, like tonight
The wind speaks to us through trees
Singing lullabies by moonlight
Your smile rocking us to sleep
[Verse 2]
The tears grow far too common, in between our eyes
The photographs we pretend to be, laughter's found in lies
And the laughter we both share seems to be our common ground
I'm treading water in our conversations just to keep my words around
The music found in silence is keeping me awake
And like the ground in California your eyes still make me shake
[Chorus]
And on days, like today
The paper's our comfort as is our pen
As we bleed our hearts, tearing gossip apart
Behind the golden clock
I stepped inside through the door
Beside the lemon tree
I grow up with so many things
Oh, California
Dreaming about yesterday
It has gone
Over the sea
Oh, California
Waiting for you to come, sweet home
Still the same
The hands were making
Sweets and clothes in silence
The hands' work
How I long for their old things
Oh, California
Dreaming about yesterday
It has gone
Over the years
Oh, California
Waiting for you to come, sweet home
Sou kimi wa mou sude ni yume no naka de boku wo daiteru star
Ima subete nozomi kanau nara mazu kimi ga boku wo utsu I call
Oh, California
Dreaming about yesterday
It has gone
Over the sea
Oh, California
Waiting for you to come, sweet home
When the wintry winds starts blowing
And the snow is starting in the fall
Then my eyes went westward knowing
That's the place that i love best of all
California i've been blue
Since i've been away from you
I can't wait 'till i get blowing
Even now i'm starting in a call
California, Here I Come
Right back where I started from
where bowers of flowers
bloom in the spring
each morning at dawning
birdies sing at everything
a sunkissed miss said, "Don't be late!"
that's why I can hardly wait
open up that golden gate
California, Here I Come
California, Here I Come (yeaaaaaah!)
Right back where I started from
where bowers of flowers
bloom in the spring
each morning at dawning
birdies sing at everything
a sunkissed miss said, "Don't be late!"
that's why I can hardly wait (come on!)
open up (open up! open up!) that golden gate
California, Here I Come
On a lonely day
I look out on the freeway
I can, fantasize 'bout the car I drive
Don't leave the light on
I can find my way
It's been so long now I have to say...
I'm goin'ta california
gonna live the life
sipping on tequila night after night
dreaming of the moment when everything looks right
a little bit of love goes a long way tonight
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
Heading for the sun
that's where I'll stay
I'm never going back home
do you ever fell like
you need a change
hang out where no one knows your name
I'm goin'ta california
gonna live the life
sipping on tequila night after night
dreaming of the moment when everything looks right
a little bit of love goes a long way tonight
would you like to meet me there?
We'll be dancing on the sand (dancing on the sand)
These days will never win
cause the world goes on and on
On a lonely day
I look out on the freeway
I can, fantasize 'bout the car I drive
Don't leave the light on
I can find my way
It's been so long now I have to say,It's been so long now I have to say...
I'm goin'ta california
gonna live the life
sipping on tequila night after night
dreaming of the moment when everything looks right
a little bit of love goes a long way tonight
a little bit of love
goes a long way tonight
oh yeah
Hoo hoo, I need your huggin'
I'm here my fears close guarded
Youth costing less than the next flight
You love the beautiful West Side
The beach and gorgeous sunrise
Surf's up the waves are risin' high
I'm all alone I need you here in Santa Monica
California
California
California
California
California
From hear to Bel Air
The blue bus will take us everywhere
Everyone's happy everyone's alright
From Lomita to El Cerrito
Seven years I been down at the West Coast
Surf's up the waves are risin' high
I'm all alone I need here in Santa Monica
I'm all alone why don't you come to Santa Monica
California
California
California
California
Hoo hoo California
Hoo hoo California
Hoo hoo California
Hoo hoo California
California
California
California
California
Sitting in a dark room
Falling to pieces
Try to find the right words
So you can sing along
Wear it like a tight noose
I don't wanna feel this
Might of made a wrong move
Now I'm all alone
I never know which way to go
A million thoughts I can't control
The city sleeps, but I can't close my eyes
California
California
Drowning in a bright room
Faking the feelings
Wonder if the right words
Are even here at all
I'm living through the hardest part
In a city full of fallen stars
A million dreams I can't close my eyes
California
California
California
California
California
good bye
Let's go down to California
listen girl
I wanna warn you
AII the guys and girls are doing things
We should have thought of long ago
wo wo wo wo
California hear me calling
late at night or early morning
You've got all the answers to the questions
And the things I'd like to know
California
California
Going to California

Let's go down to California
you won't ever catch pneumonia
California sunshine king
of good old westcoast
surfing USA

I can laugh 'cause I ain't leaving
Every time I wake up it's a cloudless sky
another sunny day
California

Going to California

Let's go down to California
reason why I telephoned ya.
I just had enough of New York City
New York City had to go
wo wo wo wo
California hear me calling
late at night or early morning
You're the one that puts a smile upon my face
Whenever I am low.
California
California
California
I keep talkin' (shhhh)
Ya know I'm running my mouth
Again,
Baby, yeah
I can't avoid it
I just exploit it
Again my mouth is running me
Hey now dorthy
I thought you had ruby reds
That was the story that ya fed to me
Elaborated
Mis-communicated
Some yellow brick fantasy
Oh make me believe
That the girl
Was a dream
Someone wake me up
Hey now Dorthy
We ain't in Kansas no more
Please somebody come rescue me
(Arghahrh) you wicked witch melt already
Contain this fucking dog please Dorthy
I keep talkin' (shhh)
Your scarecrow is your tin man
He'll find his brain eventually, yeah
Just oil him up and
He'll do a little number
That heart will never beat again, no
Let's try to listen with our ears, California
Let go of crossing arms and follow the leader
Let's try to close our eyes to see, California
Look into the soul, you'll see there that faith is blind
Let's try to listen with our ears, California
Let go of crossing arms and follow the leader
Let's try to close our eyes to see, California
Look into the soul, you'll see there that make me
Believe
That the girl
Is a dream
Someone make me
Believe
That the world
Is a dream
Someone make me
Believe
That the girl
Is a dream
Someone wake me up
Let's try to listen with our ears, California
(Let's try to listen with our ears, California...)
Let go of crossing arms and follow the leader
(Let go of crossing arms and follow the leader...)
Let's try to close our eyes to see, California
(Let's try to close our eyes to see, California...)
Look into the soul,
You'll see there that faith is blind
Let's try to listen with our ears, California
Let go of crossing arms and follow the leader
Let's try to close our eyes to see, California
Look into the soul, you'll see there that make me
Believe
That the girl
Is a dream
Someone make me
Believe
That the world
Was a dream
Someone make me
Believe
That girl
Was a dream
Someone wake me up
I keep talkin' shit
Ya know I'm running my mouth
Again,
Baby, yeah
I can't avoid it
Oh no!

If I strum chords,
Would you sing a song with me
If I leave town,
Would you leave along with me
We can fly away to outer space
We can find a way to leave this place
We don't need a map
And you can throw your phone away
We don't wanna hear the things we know their gonna say
You don't trust yourself
But girl, trust me
Don't look in the mirror
The past, you don't wanna see
What do you say we leave for California
If we drive all night,
We can make it by the morning
And no one has to know if we decide to go
What do you say we leave for California
If we leave our friends then we can be together
We can leave this town if only for the weather
I could drive
And you could sleep
While the radio collides with the sounds of our heartbeats
What do you say we leave for California
If we drive all night,
We can make it by the morning
And no one has to know if we decide to go
What do you say we leave for California
What do you say we leave for California
If we drive all night,
We can make it by the morning
And no one has to know if we decide to go
What do you say we leave for California
Hypnotised by the carbon monoxide
Would turning back be a good idea
Your cigarette after cigarette
Cannot help to calm your fear
Now I'm still driving
Just keep sleeping
We'll keep moving
But I'm not leaving
No Im not leaving
What do you say we leave for California
If we drive all night,
We can make it by the morning
And no one has to know if we decide to go
What do you say we leave for California
What do you say we leave for California
If we drive all night,
We can make it by the morning
And no one has to know if we decide to go
VERSE 1
I left Shannon, crying in Nashville
She was the best that I’ve had
She needed so much, more than I could give
That still makes me sad
CHORUS
But California’s in my headlights
It’s been so long since I’ve seen stars in the sky
So far, I ain’t got it right, but this time I just might
VERSE 2
I miss this desert, most in the spring time
I miss a girl I still love
I’ve missed so many, once in a lifetimes
And sometimes that gets tough
Yeah and sometimes that’s still tough
CHORUS
But California’s in my headlights
It’s been so long since I’ve seen stars in the sky
So far, I ain’t got it right, but this time I just might
In California
BRIDGE
Oh baby, you should run
And I should warn you
Hey baby, I still miss some one
I met him on my birthday
He was a present to me from the stars
They all said "Happy Birthday, girl"
Then they tore my world apart.
They put me on the east side
And they left him in L.A.
The distance grew between us
And we broke up yesterday
But if I cry myself a river, I can swim back to my sweet California
Give me a
C - A - L - I
I never knew I could feel like that
F - O - R - N
Anyone could tell you that I've got it bad
I - A, I - A,
I ain't going down this way
I'm gonna cry myself a river so I can swim back to my sweet California
They're telling me I cry too much
That I could fill every bath and sink
In this city I got stuck in
With its tragic symphonies
They warned me not to get attached
But they got to me way too late
'Cause I'm thinking of him constantly-
Every moment I'm awake
But if I cry myself a river, then I can swim back to my sweet California
Give me a
C - A - L - I
I never knew I could feel like that
F - O - R - N
Anyone could tell you that I got it bad
I - A, I - A,
I ain't going down this way
I'm gonna cry myself a river, then I can swim back to my sweet California
Cold water bring me back to my senses
Cold water, let me drown in him
Cold water, bring me back to my senses
Cold water, bring me back to him
Oh give me a
C - A - L - I
I never knew I could feel like that
F - O - R - N
Anyone could tell you that I got it bad
I - A, I - A,
I ain't going down this way
I met her while in France
We had a brief romance
She rubbed my arm
I rubbed her arm
Then we dirty danced
She moved down to L.A.
She met a dude o.k.
He sawed her head off with a knife
Now she's gone away
Hid away
Hid away
Hid away
Went away
California's nice
It snowed there once or twice
Bullets fly across the sky
The path is smooth and tight
I caught one at the bus stop
I said hey man I've been shot
I felt the warm blood rolling down
Now it's gone away
Hid away
Hid away
Hid away
I met her while in France
We had a brief romance
She rubbed my arm
I rubbed her arm
Then we dirty danced
She moved down to L.A.
She met a dude o.k.
He sawed her head off with a knife
Now she's gone away
Hid away
Hid away
free ride, sea side
tell me what they're doing in california
in the moonlight is so bright
tell me what they're doing in california
singing ah ah ah la la la
where's that sunhat
pack it for the weather in california
and the streelights run all night.
tell me what they're doing in california
can we go there this summer i'll wear a flower in my
hair
if we go there this summer i'll walk right to that
summer
can we go there this summer?
ah ah ah la la la
where's my sunshine
all are free and friendly in california
in the moonlight, it don't feel right
ah la la la
tell me what they're doing in california
can we go there this summer?
i'll wear a flower in my hair
if we go there this summer
i'll walk right to that summer
can we go there this summer?
can we go there this summer?
i'll wear a flower in my hair
if we go there this summer,
i'll walk right to that summer
i'll waltz right though 'cause i don't care
The sun wakes me on devil's morning- his
Arms stretched over the town- to make a
Red sky, month of July- and you are
Gorgeous, the dust you ingest you die
Broke my link, my ideal
Now their eyes, like their lies
Move on quick, like a suicide
Summer prays that she could be rain
As the car crash left you for the blame
And nightfall brought your demons and evil arcade
She is the famine, I'm California
He is Dakota, I'm California
I can't be lying in California
Well where's your Christian name, California
The sunset was the devil's warning and it's
Siren was louder than love and it
Sounds so pretty and sweet that you
Fell down the leaves of a cherry tree
Something born in my brain
Bleeding silver and rain
Summer prays that she could be rain
As the car crash left you for the blame
And nightfall was a shock so you closed your eyes
A fever breaks out through the lies
And I'm gone cause I felt the curse of the sun
She is the famine, I'm California
He is Dakota, I'm California
I can't be lying in California
There's lots of sugar in California
He is beautiful and a whore
And he'll die with you on the floor
Sounds like sugar into your ear
And his spiderweb caught your tear
I noticed he's writing his name in your hand
I noticed...
Summer prays that she could be rain
As the car crash left you for the blame
And nightfall brought your demons and evil arcade (California)
She is the famine, I'm California
He is Dakota, I'm California
I can't be lying in California
you sang a song as you packed up your bags
a summer solstice lullaby
i succumb to cliche sentiments but forget the lines
i turn on the phonograph to drown you out with retrospective whines
all the leaves are brown
and the sky is grey
promise not to cry as you walk away
drinking tons of caffeine makes my heart beat fast
seeing you can do the same
i try in vain to sing your song
but my melody is wrong, it's sounds so...
all the leaves are brown
and the sky is grey
(give it up for california)
peel the stucco off
toss it in the bay
(dust...desert...Denny's...sand)
solve the puzzle just throw it all away
(sun...traffic...plastic...tan)
Just a voice on the telephone
You seem so far away
Talking broken dreams
And broken guitar strings
Don't got too much to say
You spend most nights
At the boardwalk
Just staring out at the sea
Drowning in the lights of Los Angeles
Thinking about the way
Things used to be
Girl won't you go back home
California is no place to be alone
Took out west some years ago
Was just too big for that town
Hell I got that roaming in me too
Never known to stay around
It's just another night in Hollywood
Just another night alone
Thinking about things
And what you'd change
Knowing that the chance
Is fucking gone
Such a sweet young thing
How long will it be
Blinded by those stage lights
Honey can't you see
Girl won't you go back home
California is no place to be alone
Girl won't you go back home
Not gonna make, not gonna make
Don’t tell me how to believe
I know it takes a little time
And all I’m doing is trying to get by
But it’s killing me just to try
Feel like I am wasting my life
And I don’t wanna give up
What if I’m not strong enough
Don’t wanna be what I’m not
But I’m giving all I got
Cali how was I supposed to know
If this is really it why do I feel like letting go
Cali I thought I knew I was gonna be
I was ready to show them all
Why do I feel like I’m not me
Why do I feel like I’m not me
But I knew every word
Man I had it all down
There was nothing I forgot to say
How did it all turn around
And why did nothing go my own way
Cali how was I supposed to know
If this is really it why do I feel like letting go
Cali I thought I knew I was gonna be
I was ready to show them all
Why do I feel like I’m not me
Why do I feel like I’m not me
And you were some kind of a dream
Was it all a fantasy was it really meant to be
And they all said this was the real deal
Now how am I supposed to feel
Cali how was I supposed to know
If this is really it why do I feel like letting go
Cali I thought I knew I was gonna be
I was ready to show them all
Why do I feel like I’m not me
Why do I feel like I’m not me
California's got the sunshine, year round, cheap wine
Fresh waves / Hot babes, Lather on the sunscreen
Warm days, Cool nights, Everything is just right
Soft Sand, last tan, sleepin' on the rooftop
California, California...he said I ain't never leaving you
California's got the girl I love, the mountain's rising up above
The beach scene, so clean, parties raging every night
The clean air, millionaire, breathtaking swimwear
Fake boobs, boob tube, something's always going on
California, California...he said I ain't never leaving you.
California's got the earthquake, mudslides keep awake

Na, there's this, this young bull and this old bull
and they're standin' on top of a hill.
And I tried to tell you before that that's why I left California.
So they're standin' on top of this hill, right?
And they're looking out over a pasture full of cows.
Whole fuckin' pasture.
And the young bull turns to the old bull and he goes,
"I got this really good idea."
And the old bull's like, "Yeah?"
And I tried to tell you before that that's why I left California.
"Hey," he's, he's like "Yeah. Yeah I got this really good idea.
Let's run down that hill and fuck one o' those cows."
And the old bull just looks at him. You know, he's just lookin' at him,
he's like, "Look, I got a better idea."
The young bull's like, "Oh yeah? What's your fuckin' brilliant idea?"
And the old bull goes...
And I tried to tell you before that that's why I left California.
And the old bull goes, "Let's walk down that hill
and fuck all o' those cows. Dig?"
You know like he ain't been in town long or something, I don't know.
And I tried to tell you before that that's why I left California.
Uh, dreaming of you, uuuuuh,

We've been on the run
Driving in the sun
Looking out for #1
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Hustlers grab your guns
Your shadow weighs a ton
Driving down the 101
California here we come
Right back where we started from
California!
Here we come!
On the stereo
Listen as we go
Nothing's gonna stop me now
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Pedal to the floor
Thinkin' of the roar
Gotta get us to the shore
California here we come
Right back where we started from
California!
Here we come!
I'm going to California
turn the corner turn the key
unlock the secret garden
and throw away the key
Don't care how long it takes me
don't care what I have to do
crawl across the great divide
just to get back to you
My God, how did it come to this
wallowing in my own pit
some birds that sing had to sacrifice
their wings
can you save me
save me from myself
I'm going to California
let the sun melt down my heart
there'll be no fighting crying
no more stumbling in the dark
and when all of the king's horses
and all of the king's men
come to visit me in California
well, I'll gladly let them in
My God, how did it come to this
wallowing in my own pit
some birds that sing had to sacrifice
their wings
can you save me
can you save me
can you save me
save me from myself
I'm going to California
turn the corner turn the key
unlock the secret garden
(Hills 3:13)
I'm gonna ride in a big jet plane
And you won't see me around here no more
The morning drive is never easy
It's always the same
And I don't want to be the one who closes my door
Cause I don't beat around
I got jumped for no reason
It wasn't safe for me anymore
That's why
I'm gonna live in California
I wanna fly in a plastic Chevrolet
Racing cars
See some stars
Just a few famous names
Life on Mars is just as hard
It could be all the same
Let's say goodbye to Nelly Ollson
And make other plans
I'm not going to stick around
I got jumped for no reason
It wasn't safe for me anymore
That's why
I'm gonna live in California
I'm gonna live in California
California
California
No I don't need anyone
No I don't need anyone
No I don't need anyone
I got jumped for no reason
It wasn't safe for me anymore
That's why
I'm gonna live in California
I got jumped for no reason
It wasn't safe for me anymore
That's why
I'm gonna live in California
California
California
I don?t want to leave this time
Feel the pressure exploding in my head
See the guilt resting in my eyes
I never wanted to leave you when you needed me
Leave you when you needed me
I?m doing the best I can now to leave the rest behind
And I think that I?m drowning
In the warm California sun
And I?ve never felt so alone before
Got to find a way to get back home
The empty shade of blue
A cruel reminder in this now
Reveals a pain in you
I never wanted to leave you when you needed me
Leave you when you needed me
I?m doing the best I can now to leave the rest behind
And I think that I?m drowning
In the warm California sun
And I?ve never felt so alone before
Got to find a way to get back home
And I think that I?m drowning
In the warm California sun
And I think that I?m drowning
Got to find a way to get back home
There?s no one here that understands me
I need the love of my family to keep going on
And I think that I?m drowning
In the warm California sun
And I?ve never felt so alone before
Got to find a way to get back home
And I think that I?m drowning
In the warm California sun
And I think that I?m drowning
Got to find a way to get back home
Got to find a way to get back home
Got to find a way to get back home
I think I?m drowning

California summer holiday,
now kids I gotta warn ya
'cause I've been to california
where they've got a new religion
and they'd love for you to give in
well I'm here to say that we'll seize the day
we're still here to stay
we'll never fade away
well I don't wanna bore ya
but I've been to california
where everybody's reachin'
for somethin' to believe in
waiting for the day that we'll rise away
still here to stay
we'll never fade away
so say I didn't warn ya
'bout southern california
where they got a new affliction
and it hangs like an addiction
I was only seventeen when I first met you
And you were always wilder than me
But I still loved you
But you said I had to watch all the seasons change before I knew
You said you had a dream and you had to find it
You always wanted a girl like me but this wasn't how you timed it
Boy meets girl they fall in love
Boy leaves for the city lights and she's crying
But I ain't crying
(Chorus)
It's been four weeks twenty-eight days
Since you went away
I know you'll be back someday
From California
And I'll be the barefoot blonde
Sliver rings and blue jeans on
Standing out there with the dog
Just waiting for you
From California
You sent me Malibu on the back of a post card
Sure looks pretty out there
But you sound lonesome
I volunteered at the county fair
They got me painting daisies on the babies cheeks
Now ain't that sweet
(Repeat Chorus)
You got a job playing guitar
Well that don't surprise me
I always thought you were a star
But I'm glad you miss me
I’m gonna ride in a big jet plane
And you won’t see me around here no more
The morning drive is never easy
It’s always the same
And I don’t want to be the one who closes my door
Cause I don’t beat around
I got jumped for no reason
It wasn’t safe for me anymore
That’s why
I’m gonna live in California
I wanna fly in a plastic Chevrolet
Racing cars
See some stars
Just a few famous names
Life on Mars is just as hard
It could be all the same
Let’s say goodbye to Nelly Ollson
And make other plans
I’m not going to stick around
I got jumped for no reason
It wasn’t safe for me anymore
That’s why
I’m gonna live in California
I’m gonna live in California
California
California
No I don’t need anyone
No I don’t need anyone
No I don’t need anyone
I got jumped for no reason
It wasn’t safe for me anymore
That’s why
I’m gonna live in California
I got jumped for no reason
It wasn’t safe for me anymore
That’s why
I’m gonna live in California
California
I know the sign and theres no attraction
dont waste your fine chemical reaction
Im not the one
Save it, leave it,
Its the end of the century
theres so much, too much
theres nothing to say,
and if you fall for the western ocean,
dont be shy its the best emotion,
under the sun ..
under the sun...
california, where going to california ,aahhhh ahhhh
i want to fly away,
i want to fly away,
On a lonely day I look out on the freeway
I can fantasize about the car I drive
I Don't need the light on I can find my way
It's been so long now I have to say
Chorus: I'm going to California
I'm gonna live the life
Sipping on tequilla
Night after night
Dreaming of the moment
When everything looks right
A little bit of love goes a long way tonight
I'm on my way heading for the sun
That's where I'll stay I'm never going back home
Do you ever feel like you need a change? Hang out where no one knows your name
Chorus: I'm going to California
I'm gonna live the life
Sipping on tequilla
Night after night
Dreaming of the moment
When everything looks right
A little bit of love goes a long way tonight
Would you like to meet me there? We'll be dancing on the sand
These days will never end
No they'll go on and on and on
On a lonely day I look out on the freeway
I can fantasize about the car I drive
I Don't need the light on I can find my way
It's been so long now I have to say
It's been so long now I have to say
Chorus: (X2)I'm going to California
I'm gonna live the life
Sipping on tequilla
Night after night
Dreaming of the moment
When everything looks right
A little bit of love goes a long way tonight
A little bit of love, A little bit of love
A little bit of love goes a long way tonight
Have you been to California
Seen the sights and people there
Walked the streets of sleepy sea towns
Tasted salty ocean air
Once I flew to New York City
Took my picture in Time Square
Soho nights and Broadway lights
Such a pity you weren't there
Pack your bags and lock your door
I'll take you places you've not been before
All I've ever wished to do is
Travel through this life with you
Make your way to London, England
Paris, France is also nice
Ooh la la, when people say hello
They kiss your cheeks three times
Pack your bags and lock your door
I'll take you places you've not been before
All I've ever wished to do is
Travel through this life with you
Monte Carlo is awaiting
Bombay intoxicating
The sky in Bora Bora is
The color of your eyes
Pack your bags and lock your door
I'll take you places you've not been before
All I've ever wished to do is
there's a buzz hanging over my head
from my broken neon halo
like a movie that I slept through
I just don't get the point
but if I get to california
before I lose my mind
I'll lay my burden on you
for one last time
most nights I just lay and wonder
how I ever let it get this far
becouse most nights I don't even love you
the way I did the night teat came before
although my head it is so heavy
my mouth is filled with dirt
and my heart it burns with envy
CALIFORNIA
I ain’t the person I’m supposed to be he said to all of his friends
It wasn’t that I wasn’t born like me it’s just that’s where similarity ends
And he took on a different style of life he thought required for
The new identity he made disregarding all that went before
So he packed his bags and went where dreams made up the air
So he could breathe the thoughts that he could never share
And it makes me wish that you were still here with me
But I know that this is where you should be
Won’t you tell California I got more time on my hands
Won’t you leave a little stardust to make me feel at home
Take a little inside out to the cold with me
So when I step outside it’s warm
Leave a little of you here till I’m old with me
You’re face’ll never change from the picture on my soul
You’re face’ll never change from the picture on my soul
And he slowly faded out of sight and out of mind
Leaving friends imagining alone what he would find
And this is my way of saying that it’s all alright
Cos I know that I won’t see you for a long long while
Won’t you tell California I got more time on my hands
Won’t you leave a little stardust to make me feel at home
Take a little inside out to the cold with me
So when I step outside it’s warm
Leave a little of you here till I’m old with me
You’re face’ll never change from the picture on my soul
I was just a boy in love, and you were a girl head over heels
All those days never lasted long enough
And all those nights were filled with cigaretes and sex appeal
Take my hands, and we can never come back to this town
Where it's always winter, and your so-called friends always bring you
down
Because you don't belong here, you were born to be so much more than
this
Don't waste another day in a town that doesn't know you exist
Let's run away to California
Nothing to lose but a string on a guitar
Nothing to hold us back now, we've got a trip to take
Let's live the dream in California
And make them all proud that we got this far
Nothing to head back to, so head for the golden state
(Let's run away to California, where everybody was born to be a star)
I was just a boy with a crush, and you were a girl who felt the same
And we were just a couple of kids in a city that would never know our
name
And I know it's hard to just pack your things and so goodbye
When this is all you've ever known, but I swear it's brighter on the other
side
So please come with me and let's start a brand new life
Move to California and everything's gonna be alright
Let's run away to California
Nothing to lose but a string on a guitar
Nothing to hold us back now, we've got a trip to take
Let's live the dream in California
And make them all proud that we got this far
Nothing to head back to, so head for the golden state
Whoa, California
top off the ride
we could cruise around
listen to the sounds till the sun goes down
starin at my window at you
am i the same without you
and i ain't the same without you
can't even do my thing without
so gone to the one that i love
and i remember how it was
i wish i could be back there cuz
i wanna be there where i can
take a
top off the ride
we can cruise around
listen to the sounds till the sun goes down
there's a party goin on in every
corner
that's why i gotta be in california
we can take a top off the ride
we can hit the shore
we can hit sunset(we can hit
the stars)there's a party goin on in every corner
that's why i gotta be in california
starin at my window at you
am i the same without you
but life aint the same without you
cuz i know that it'll be too
long
before i see you
tears for my eyes cry to
tears for my eyes cry blue
i love it when the breeze comes through
so as soon
as i get back
im gonna take a
top off the ride
we can cruise around
listen to the sounds till the sun goes down
there's a party goin on in every
corner
that's why i gotta be in california
we can take a top off the ride
we can hit the shore
we can hit sunset (we can hit the stars)
there's a party goin on in every corner
There's something pure about this feeling
That neither you or I can explain
The simplicity of never leaving
And conversations go unsaid
Life is never what you plan
So I think that you should move to California
When the streets are lit, the sky is too (ooh ooh ooh)
Cause where you are isn't where you need to be
When you listen, can you hear her calling you?
Yeah in California, skies are always blue
Back and forth a summer's dance
Isn't right without you here
But the elegance of this romance
Is that you know, I know, we know, that it's real
Love isn't always against our odds
So I think that you should move to California
When the streets are lit, the sky is too (ooh ooh ooh)
Cause where you are isn't where you need to be
When you listen, can you hear her calling you?
Yeah in California, skies are always blue
Cause where you are isn't where you need to be
In California you'll be here with me
So I think that you should move to California
When the streets are lit, the sky is too (ooh ooh ooh)
Cause where you are isn't where you need to be
When you listen, can you hear her calling you?

California's on cocaine
Everybody is to blame
Yeah
I am oh-so impressed
That everybody's over dressed
And California feels the pain
Yeah
And everybody is too blame
Everybody wants to head out of here
Everybody wants to head out of here
They raise great murderers, actors and murderers
California's on cocaine
Everybody is to blame
Everyone is over dressed
I am oh so impressed
That California feels the pain
Everybody is to blame
Everybody wants to head out of here
Everybody wants to head out of here
They raise great murderers, actors and murderers
Up above the sunny skies in south California
There's a wounded rocket flying high, heading homeward
It came from a hollow, under a hill
And soon there'll be nobody left to kill
In California
Last night captain Black went dancing at the Whiskey A-Go-Go
When a well-known groupie knocked him back, busted his ego
Stoned out of his head, he crawled off to bed
The following morning he went to the pad
The missile was standing pointing to the skies of California
The red balloon was flying high, watching the weather
Captain Black was trying hard to get it together
Immediate names came into his brain
A rocket from China, a Russian plane
He pushed the wrong button and soon there'll be no place called
When I came back home from the USA
I had nothin' in my pockets and not a lot to say
Though I knew somehow we would meet real soon
But the way you've been avoidin' me
It's like I'm livin' on the moon
Here I am on this side of the stars
Livin' in California
And sometimes I get out of reach in the bars
Dreamin' about my life
And maybe one day I'll take a wife
Though I spent some time on the evil road
I've done things that I'm ashamed of
Oh man it's such a heavy load
Though I knew somehow we would meet real soon
But the way you've been avoidin' me
It's like I'm livin' on the moon
Here I am on this side of the stars
Livin' in California
And sometimes I get out of reach in the bars
Dreamin' about my life
And maybe one day I'll take a wife
I miss you girl
Your dreams are more than I can take
You are the love of my life
But I could be my biggest mistake
Ah babe my heart's turnin' like a wheel
I feel emotion for you but I just can't tell if it's real
When I came back home from the USA
I had nothin' in my pockets and not a lot to say
Though I knew somehow we would meet real soon
But the way you've been avoidin' me
It's like I'm livin' on the moon
Here I am on this side of the stars
Livin' in California
And sometimes I get out of reach in the bars
Dreamin' about my life
And maybe one day I'll take a wife
I open my eyes to see her face
In a daze we engaged
last night i slept about an hour
to fill her needs and desires
CHROUS:
One more night in California
One more night with you
One more night
Yah, she's alright, she's alright
One more night, one more night
In California
Ineed to catch a ride
to the south side
I grabbed a Patty and a shake
I felt the earth quake
I jumped in a cab for LAX
I flipped him a tip, Hey man!
then I split
CHORUS
I opened my eyes to see her face
I was wondering
About our future
You gonna lead them
Then start to think of
Do a little think
It’s confusing
Make our conclusion
Out of this country
There’s an occasion
It could be special
We can thrive and fall short
Just think how to make it work
Expectation
And opportunity
Ina a new society
We’ll have being countrified
California
Is what I talk about
We’re not going to far
10.000 miles
it’s an exciting state
I know what we can get
I know what we can take
I know what we can see
In California…
West coast of the United States
Get a hold of our new taste
It’s not too easy
To see the bikinis
San Diego or maybe Hollywood
Of course Los Angeles
Hu hu hu

California
wir sind morgen da
wo der Wind zum Drachensegeln weht.
California
wir sind morgen da
wo der Sommer nie zu Ende geht.
Hu hu hu hu

California
wir sind morgen da
wo der Wind zum Drachensegeln weht.
California
wir sind morgen da
See the street lights on the highway
Are getting darker everyday
I always felt like somthings missing
But now theres nothing left for me
2000 miles from that place i love
Seems so far away
Take me home to California
Theres no place id rather be
Is it warm in California
For a kid just like me
They always said we'd never make it
They said we'd never reach the stars
But friday night we'll be playin
Down on sunset boulevard
Ive been looking for that place called home
Seems so far away
Take me home to California
Theres no place id rather be
Is it warm in California
You love me
You love me
You love me like you love no one
You leave me
You leave me
You leave me for the second time
You come back
You come back
You come back like you did before
You're wasted
You're wasted
You're wasted like you were in
California, fairyland
California, you can't look bad
We're over
We're over
We're over with this you and me
You're happy
I'm happy
We're happy in our make belive
You're with another one
You're with another one
You're with that neighbour's deep tanned blonde
You scumbag
You scumbag
You're scum and you can go to
California, fairyland
California, you can't look bad
California, fairyland
California, you can't look bad
No, no you can't be like that
No way, I can't be like that
Oh no, we'll soon be like that
California, fairyland
California, you can't look bad
California, fairyland
too much, too late
i try hard, i can't wait
to hear you say the words
fade away, are we thinking
of the same thing again
if we are we cannot lose it
just cause silence is a sin
i'll scream, you shout,
three strikes (and) you're out
of cash, but that's ok
we don't need it anyway
down, low down, get down alright
we've/i've got ourselves a song,
and we'll sing it all night
in a town called california
the air is sweet
and a cold glass of coca cola
will keep you on your feet
right (out) here in california
the streets are paved with gold
i don't care what they tell ya
there's no cure for growin' old
it's another day
another chance to throw it all away
i've got an itch
to scream and bitch
but please don't ask me to get off
my assets are frozen
my circuitry's broke
find myself a laughin'
i don't know any jokes
in a town called california
the air is sweet
and a cold glass of coca cola
will keep you on your feet
right (out) here in california
the streets are paved with gold
i don't care what they tell ya
there's no cure for growin' old
right here in california
the air is sweet
and a cold glass of coca cola
will keep you on your feet
right (out) here in california
the streets are paved with gold
i don't care what they tell ya
there's no cure for growin' old
Spare me! All the details!
You must have me confused?..
Drop this one..like a bombshell.
DON'T FORGET!!
All your friends back home!
We adore you,
you put this in the wrong hands.
Please come home.
What made you run?..
You put this distance between us both.
Who made you think..
That these miles will bring you home!
[Chorus:]
"Grab my hand and come with me across the state lines."
"I'll be your peace when you need distraction."
When the distance! Starts grabing hold of you!
I'll take this in my own hand,
Grab your shit!!
Lets get you back to your real home for good.
I hate this distance between us.
What made you leave in the first place?..
Lend me your ears!
[Chorus:]
"I can't wait t'get you back to California.
Live inside that dream where..you never left town."
"Grab my hand and come with me across the state lines."
"I'll be your peace when you need distraction."
This is the way t'say I LOVE YOU BOTH!
PLEASE! come back home.
They'll never love you like i do.
Friends are the family, you choose yourself!
[Chorus:]
"I can't wait t'get you back to California,
Live inside that dream where..you never left town."
"Grab my hand and come with me across the state lines."
"I'll be your peace when you need distraction."
Is it cold in here?My heart don't feel the same since
California
If I could take the year
I'd sink it like a stone into the ocean
But I'd keep you here
And never see your face the way I left ya
All of my dreams go over my head for you
All of my dreams go over my head
Now I'm only a million miles from you
But I'm six feet higher up than I should be
Now I'm under the lights and face to face with you
Karma, carry me away
Come and carry me from here
My heart don't feel the same since
California
Could you tie me down
And throw me out to sea in California?
Got a deep blu dream
And shallow are the waves
Until they own ya
It's an empty breeze
Midnight on the beach
I feel like dyin'
But I live for you to see
The hole inside of me
That I keep diggin'
And I keep diggin'
All of my dreams go over my head for you
All of my dreams go over my head
Now I'm only a million miles from you
And I'm six feet higher up than I should be
Now I'm under the lights and face to face with you
Karma, carry me away
Come and carry me away
All of my dreams go over my head for you
All of my dreams go over my head
I stood outside like a fool
In the night air with you
And with a face much like a prong
Or electric chair I had on
I listened with ears that didn't
Make no mistake this time
When they say they try to warn ya
Lord, they just try to convince
Left my love in California
Baby, I ain't seen it since
When you said your word to me
I said "Thank you", now I see
Now I really understand
Just what's a woman and what's a man
You now you can't be true
Sometimes when it hurts you too
When they say they try to warn ya
Lord, they just try to convince
Left my love in California
Baby, I ain't seen it since
When I said I'd see you round
You said, baby, oh, you said "Wow"
Ain't I dramtic? Well, yeah, you bet
Because I ain't seen you yet
So when you see me, say hello
Say it long, say it slow
Say it like, "Hello"
Maybe your surprise will show
Yes, I hope you is surprised
When I just walk right on by
When they say they try to warn ya
Lord, they just try to convince
Left my love in California
Baby, I ain't seen it since
When they say they try to warn ya
Lord, they just try to convince
Left my love in California
Baby, I ain't seen it since
When they say they try to warn ya
Lord, they just try to convince
Left my love in California
Baby, I ain't seen it since
Baby, I aint'
Baby, I aint'
Baby, I ain't seen it since
When they say they try to warn ya
Lord, they just try to convince
When they say they try to warn ya
