I Love Trouble (1948) - Full Official Movie - Great Quality Film :)
I Love Trouble - Full Official Movie - Great Quality Film :) I Love Trouble (1948) is a film noir written by Roy Huggins from his first novel The Double Take, directed by S. Sylvan Simon, and starring Franchot Tone as Stuart Bailey.[1][2][3] The character of Stuart Baily was later portrayed by Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. in the television series 77 Sunset Strip PLOT A wealthy man, Ralph Johnston, hires detective Stuart Bailey to investigate his wife's background. Baily discovers that the wife had been a dancer under her maiden name of Jane Breeger and had left her home town with actor Buster Buffin. Buffin tells that Jane changed her name to Janie Joy and enrolled in UCLA. He promised more information but is killed before Bailey can question him further. With the help of a showgirl, Bailey learns that the wife had used stolen papers from a girlfriend to enter college after she stole $40,000 from the club where she worked. The detective eventually learns that the Johnston had killed his wife when he had himself discovered her past, in order to avoid a scandal, and that he had hired the detective in order to frame him for the killing I LOVE TROUBLE REVIEW Franchot Tone was a terrific actor. He could play a psycho as in "Phantom Lady" and "Man on the Eiffel Tower" or he could switch to a smooth, fast-thinking and highly intelligent private eye as in "I Love Trouble". The title is misleading. It suggests a comedy-mystery, which this is not, despite Tone's levity and capacity to roll with the punches. He's not sardonic, like a Dick Powell. He's not weary, like a Robert Mitchum, and he's not tough, like a Humphrey Bogart. He's smart and quick-witted and self-controlled. His client is Tom Powers, who wants his wife's past investigated, but she eventually turns up dead. Meanwhile Janet Blair pops up, as the sister of whom this wife had taken an identity before her marriage. And Janet's real sister, the possessor of that identity, has happily left it behind when she married. That's Janis Carter, affecting a terrible South American accent. Tone doesn't know if he can trust Blair, but he knows he's attracted to her. Meanwhile his detecting takes him all over LA and nearby places where he meets up with a bevy of well-known supporting players and complications. This is noir, done Chandler-style in complexity, in which even the writer may not know who did what to whom, when, and why. I haven't grasped it all myself, but the ride is sure enjoyable, and I'll take it again. It's done in a lighter Dick Powell "Murder My Sweet" vein, but without any narration. Solid film noir. - If you enjoyed "I Love Trouble - Full Official Movie - Great Quality Film :)" please like, comment and subscribe to GreenLibraryFilms, We really appreciate it- published: 13 Jan 2013

Zane Grey Theater 01 You Only Run Once ( Dick Powell, Walter Sande, Denver Pyle)
Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theatre, sometimes simply called Zane Grey Theatre, is an American Western anthology series which ran on CBS from 1956 to 1961. Created by Luke Short and Charles A. Wallace, Zane Grey Theatre was originally based on the short stories and novels of Western author Zane Grey, but as the episodes continued, new material was included.[1] Aaron Spelling, wrote twenty Zane Grey episodes. The series opened each week with a prelude of the episode followed by the introduction, the firing of a gun, with the proclamation: "From out of the West, Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater." Much of the musical score was handled by Four Star's Herschel Burke Gilbert. Powell appeared as various characters in 15 of the 149 episodes and hosted the entire run. A half-hour program, Zane Grey Theatre debuted at 8:30 Eastern on Friday, October 5, 1956, and ran until the end of the 1960-1961 season, when Powell switched to NBC for a new hour-long anthology of drama and comedy called The Dick Powell Show. Zane Grey Theatre was ground-breaking in that five episodes were developed into subsequent series: Trackdown (from "Badge of Honor") starring Robert Culp as Texas Ranger Hoby Gilman, Johnny Ringo (from "Man Alone"), starring Don Durant, both on CBS, The Rifleman (from "The Sharpshooter") with Chuck Connors as Lucas McCain on ABC, The Westerner on NBC (from "Trouble at Tres Cruces"), starring Brian Keith as Dave Blassingame, and Black Saddle (from "Threat of Violence") with Chris Alcaide instead of subsequent series star Peter Breck as the gunfighter-turned-lawyer Clay Culhane) on ABC.[1] In addition, Wanted: Dead or Alive, with Steve McQueen playing the bounty hunter Josh Randall, was a CBS spinoff of Trackdown, and Law of the Plainsman, starring Michael Ansara as a Harvard-educated, Native American U.S. Marshal, was an NBC spin-off of The Rifleman.- published: 29 Jan 2014
