The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) (French: Le Conseil économique et social des Nations unies; CÉSNU) constitutes one of the six principal organs (one is not active as of 2011) of the United Nations. It is responsible for coordinating the economic, social and related work of 14 UN specialized agencies, their functional commissions and five regional commissions. ECOSOC has 54 members; it holds a four-week session each year in July. Since 1998, it has also held a meeting each April with finance ministers heading key committees of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The ECOSOC serves as the central forum for discussing international economic and social issues, and for formulating policy recommendations addressed to member states and the United Nations system.
The Economic and Social Council Chamber in the United Nations Conference Building was a gift from Sweden. It was conceived by Swedish architect Sven Markelius, one of the 11 architects in the international team that designed the UN headquarters. Wood from Swedish pine trees was used in the delegates' area for the railings and doors. The pipes and ducts in the ceiling above the public gallery were deliberately left exposed; the architect believed that anything useful could be left uncovered. The "unfinished" ceiling is a symbolic reminder that the economic and social work of the United Nations is never finished; there will always be something more which can be done to improve living conditions for the world's people.
The Crisis is the official magazine of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and was founded in 1910 by W. E. B. Du Bois (editor), Oswald Garrison Villard, J. Max Barber, Charles Edward Russell, Kelly Miller, W.S. Braithwaite, M. D. Maclean.
The original title of the journal was The Crisis: A Record of The Darker Races. From 1997 to 2003, it appeared as The New Crisis: The Magazine of Opportunities and Ideas, but the title has since reverted to The Crisis. The title derives from the poem "The Present Crisis" by James Russell Lowell. Published monthly, by 1920 its circulation had reached 100,000 copies. Du Bois proclaimed his intentions in his first editorial:
Predominantly a current-affairs journal, The Crisis also included poems, reviews, and essays on culture and history. Du Bois' initial position as editor was in line with the NAACP's liberal programme of social reform and racial equality, but by the 1930s Du Bois was advocating a form of black separatism. This led to disputes between Du Bois and the NAACP resulting in his resignation as editor in 1934. He was replaced by Roy Wilkins.

Paul Kagame ( /kəˈɡɑːmeɪ/ kə-GAH-may; born 23 October 1957) is the sixth and current President of the Republic of Rwanda. He rose to prominence as the leader of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), whose military victory over the incumbent government in July 1994 effectively ended the Rwandan genocide. Under his leadership, Rwanda has been called Africa’s “biggest success story” and Kagame has become a public advocate of new models for foreign aid designed to help recipients become self-reliant. However, President Kagame's rule has been criticized for his domestic policies, which have been described as authoritarian. In addition Kagame has been accused of war crimes during Rwanda's invasion of the DR Congo in 1996, and of having led a subsequent proxy war against the DR Congo by arming the CNDP until January 20, 2009.
Kagame was born to a Tutsi family in Tambwe, Rwanda-Urundi in October 1957 to Deogratius and Asteria Rutagambwa. In November 1959, an increasingly restive Hutu population sparked a revolt, eventually resulting in the overthrow of Mwami Kigeri V Ndahindurwa in 1961. During the 1959 revolt and its aftermath, more than 150,000 people were killed in the fighting, with the Tutsis suffering the greatest losses. Several thousand fled to neighbouring countries including Burundi and Uganda. In all, some 20,000 Tutsis were killed. In 1960 Kagame left with his family at the age of two and moved to Uganda with many other Tutsis. In 1962 they settled in the Gahunge refugee camp, Toro, where Kagame spent the rest of his childhood years. He attended Ntare Secondary School in Uganda. During much of this time Kagame was a "motivated student" and bore an early fascination with revolutionaries such as Che Guevara.
Some place to hide deep in my mind
Some place to hide deep in my soul
Any place we try any place we go
We always try to hold
Some place to hide deep in my mind
Some place to hide deep in my soul
Any place we try any place we go
We always try to hold
White keys or black keys
It’s not so funky
We are restless just music junkies
White keys or black keys
It’s not so funky
We are restless just music junkies
This is not the song that we sing out now (x4)
Some place to hide deep in my mind
Some place to hide deep in my soul
Any place we try any place we go
We always try to hold
White keys or black keys
It’s not so funky
We are restless just music junkies
White keys or black keys
It’s not so funky
We are restless just music junkies
White keys or black keys
It’s not so funky
We are restless just music junkies
White keys or black keys
It’s not so funky
We are restless just music junkies
Like the first
In the light
Of the sun
You’re smiling at the clouds
Waking up
For ourselves
And giving us a chance
To remind
Everyone
The water in your eyes
Hard I try
Anytime
I said you said I said she says
I said you said I said she says
I said you said I said she says
I said you said I said she says
When daddy heard the bells of young curves
Mam said we leave the place
Mam said we leave the place
When I realized the game you were playing
The violence cries your name
The consequences of your secret love
I couldn’t even say a word
I said you said I said she says
I said you said I said she says
I said you said I said she says
I said you said I said she says
Thanks I’m fine
But I’ve nothing to give
But I just have to leave
Head off I would rather live on a train
And now I’m dying
Cause I don’t want to be here
I don’t want to be seen
Head off I would rather live on a train
Yes I lie
If I tell you I’m right
Oh baby I lie
If I tell you I’m right
Thanks I’m down
Cause I’ve nothing to lose
I’m alone in a cruise
Head off I would rather live on a train
And now I’m crying
Cause I don’t want to be here
I don’t want to be seen
Head off I would rather live on a train
Yes I lie
If I tell you I’m right
Oh baby I lie
If I tell you I’m right
Oh baby I lie
If I tell you I’m right
Oh baby I lie
If I tell you I’m right
Destination nowhere on this train
Destination nowhere on a train
You got nothing to lose
Except you
Yes I lie
If I tell you I’m right
Oh baby I lie
If I tell you I’m right
Oh baby I lie
If I tell you I’m right
Oh baby I lie
You wanna see it after all
You wanna leave it off the wall
Off the wall try to figure out you’re such a drag
You’re dressed up like a piggy bank
Through the night diamonds out
Christmas light cruising like a pimp
Anytime in your golden car you’re such a drag
You snort like the world will fall today
I must say you’re a lucky man
You wanna see it after all
You wanna leave it off the wall
You wanna see it after all
You wanna leave it off the wall
You wanna see it after all
You wanna leave it off the wall
After all try to figure out you’re such a drag
You’re made of all those shitty tales
Through the day work and pay
No more guy you don’t need a lie
Off the wall like a smoking gun without excuse
You cry like world will fall today
I must say you’re a lover but you never try
To feel life can find another way
You wanna see it after all
You wanna leave it off the wall
You wanna see it after all
You wanna leave it off the wall
Not on time
Never staying around
If you stop me then
We’ll be on our own we’ll be on our own
This time try trying hard to make it better
If you stop me then
We’ll be on our own we’ll be on our own
Always on the run (x5)
So many birds can entertain us
You may be fucked but you understand us
So get your gun down and then
We’ll be on our own we’ll be on our own
This time try trying hard to make it better
If you stop me then
We’ll be on our own we’ll be on our own
Always on the run (x5)
You’re damn right
You gave out promises (promises)
It’s not it’s not the same
The things change and never never the same
The things change
Being lost in time has never been a crime
If you stop me then
We’ll be on our own we’ll be on our own
Always on the run (x6)
The things change the things change
The things change it’s not the same now
The things change it’s not the same now
The things change it’s not the same now
The things change it’s not the same now
