Exhibits: Michael DeForge and John Porcellino
Michael DeForge has just returned from a forever-long tour, and is probably exhausted, but he ain't quitin'. Toronto, join Michael tonight, Thursday, October 16th, at 7:30 pm, for the opening of Contemporaries, a new show of his drawings at Weird Things (998 Bathurst Street). There'll be 16 new, 30-inch ink drawings for you to feast your eyes on. If you can't make it out tonight, Weird Things is open Tuesday through Saturday, 12pm-7pm. Meanwhile, in Palatine, Illinois, Like Comics Without Borders continues its run at Harper College. This show features original art by Chicago cartoonists, including John Porcellino, whose works explore issues of place and identity, and magic and memory. The show is on view until November 13th at Harper College's Art Exhibiton Space (Building C, Room C200, 1200 West Algonquin Road) and is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 p.m.
