A canon (from the Latin canonicus, itself derived from the Greek κανονικός, kanonikós, "relating to a rule", "regulary") is a priest or minister who is a member of certain bodies of the Christian clergy subject to an ecclesiastical rule (canon).
Originally, a canon was a cleric living with others in a clergyhouse or, later, in one of the houses within the precinct of or close to a cathedral and ordering his life according to the orders or rules of the church. This way of life grew common (and is first documented) in the eighth century. In the eleventh century, some churches required clergy thus living together to adopt the rule first proposed by Saint Augustine that they renounce private wealth. Those who embraced this change were known as Augustinians or Canons Regular, whilst those who did not were known as secular canons.
In the Roman Catholic Church, the members of the chapter of a cathedral (cathedral chapter) or of a collegiate church (so called after their chapter) are canons. Depending on the title of the church, several languages use specific titles, e.g., in German Domherr or Domkapitular in a Dom (i.e., cathedral), Stiftsherr in a prelature that has the status of a Stift (notably under a prince of the Church).
Sussex Police is the territorial police force responsible for policing East Sussex, West Sussex and City of Brighton and Hove in southern England. Its Headquarters is in Lewes, Lewes District, East Sussex.
Policing in the county can be traced back to the first force established in Brighton in 1830. A few years later on 13 March 1844 Chief Constable Henry Solomon was murdered in his office by a prisoner he was interviewing. He is believed to be the only chief officer to have suffered such a fate. Prior to 1830 local watchmen were appointed to provide some degree of law enforcement in the area. In 1812, there were some 12 watchmen who were responsible for the town. By 1814 the number had grown to 28 and at this time the title of constable was in use for them. By 1868 the force had grown to 100 officers and helmets replaced top hats.
In 1918 the first woman was appointed as a police officer in this force and by 1930 it had grown to 216 officers. Brighton Police were the first force to introduce police radios on the 14th September 1933. Forces were also established for the counties of East Sussex and West Sussex, as well as separate forces in the boroughs of Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings. These forces amalgamated temporarily during the Second World War, from 1943 until 1947, but then policing reverted back to the old system for another two decades.

The priest waits for the train,
He leaves today,
He says "How could I have been so wrong for so long",
He lights his last cigarette,
He quits today,
What better way to leave than turning a new leaf
"Tell your mom I'm coming home,
Tell your mom I'm coming home"
The priest drinks from a flask,
It keeps him warm,
He says "I've felt this way before",
The book is a book,
The cross is wood,
The priest is a man
"Tell your mom I'm coming home,
Deep in prayer, my cross to wear
I kneel upon the floor
Temptations of a catholic priest aren't easy to ignore
But I can not control myself
He rips my soul apart
For one small sheep among my flock has
Stolen the shepherd's heart
Altar boy, altar boy
Confess your sins to me
You will find the grace of God
Inside my rectory
Sunday mass or bible class
I catch him in my view
I close my eyes but there he lies
Spread-eagle on the pew
And when I see him in that frock
My conscience goes awry
I'll give him some communion wine thats
Spiked with Spanish fly
Altar boy, altar boy
Is it gonna be heaven or hell?
You can play my organ all night long
If you promise never to tell
... Our father
Who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name...
I could dress him up like the pope and then I'd...
Oh dear god, the shame, oh no
Lead us not into temptation
Deliver us from sin
Or we could pretend that he was Jesus Christ
and I was Mary Magdalene
Altar boy, altar boy
Confess your sins to me
You will find the grace of God
Inside my rectory
Altar boy, oh altar boy
Confess your sins to me
You will find the grace of God
Inside my rec...
All cities burnt down
Escape to the forests
Light up a fire to survive
In mind and in soul
Can't tell you everything
Can I open my heart to you
Will you be my friend in spirit
Will you be my priest
Union in the wilderness
Rituals to praise the sun
Homo sapiens and the nature
Stars and the night sky as our priest
Can't tell you everything
Can I open my heart to you
Will you be my friend in spirit
Will you be my priest
Can't tell you everything
Can I open my heart to you
Will you be my friend in spirit
