When Will the Building of the Debt Pyramid in Ukraine Come to an End?

11.10.2014 | 00:00 | Valentin KATASONOV

According to expert evaluations, nearly $6 billion has entered Ukraine from various sources (the IMF, the World Bank, the EU, the US) between the time of the February revolution and the end of September. Nearly 95 per cent of this has been spent on debt refinancing. No more than 5 percent has been used for other purposes in some way related to solving the country’s more urgent problems, which is crumbs in comparison. The evil tongues of those who orchestrated the February revolution and found themselves on the sidelines of the revolutionary process are revealing a strange secret. They allege that this five per cent is kickbacks and fund siphoning by the new government. Which means that the total left for ‘national development’ is exactly 0 per cent… Continue reading this...

What just happened?

On Tuesday NHS England announced the care.data ‘pathfinder’ areas, but didn’t provide answers to basic questions like “Is it happening in my practice?” and “When will it start?” We await more details on the pathfinders, including exactly what patients (and GPs) will be told.

Abandoning the Human Rights Act UK. Counterstrike and Replacement By Binoy Kampmark

8 October 2014 — Global Research

“The Tories’ major announcement was to scrap the Human Rights Act, because, and I quote, ‘people get very frustrated with human rights.’” – Tim Farron, Liberal Democrats President, The Guardian, Oct 7, 2014

Political positions were only ever the designations of seating arrangements. Left and Right distinctions have as much to do with actual political differences as they do with furniture – witness the 1789 arrangements of the National Assembly. Occasionally, such positions fall to the way side, or at the very least, become peculiarly artificial. The Human Rights Act in the UK has been one of those grand British contradictions, typical in a society thrilled with rights as a matter of “values”, but suspicious about their suggestive nannyism. Be free, but be suspicious when told about where you went wrong about protecting them.

From Pol Pot to ISIS: “Anything that Flies on Everything that Moves” By John Pilger

7 October 2014 — John Pilger

In transmitting President Richard Nixon’s orders for a “massive” bombing of Cambodia in 1969, Henry Kissinger said, “Anything that flies on everything that moves”.  As Barack Obama ignites his seventh war against the Muslim world since he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the orchestrated hysteria and lies make one almost nostalgic for Kissinger’s murderous honesty.

Hong Kong’s Umbrellas are ‘Made in USA’ By William Engdahl

8 October 2014 — Boiling Frogs Post

The Washington Hong Kong “Democracy” Project

The Washington neo-cons and their allies in the US State Department and Obama Administration are clearly furious with China, as they are with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. As both Russia and China in recent years have become more assertive about defining their national interests, and as both Eurasian powers draw into a closer cooperation on all strategic levels, Washington has decided to unleash havoc against Beijing, as it has unleashed the Ukraine dis-order against Russia and Russian links to the EU. The flurry of recent deals binding Beijing and Moscow more closely—the $400 billion gas pipeline, the BRICS infrastructure bank, trade in rubles and renminbi by-passing the US dollar—has triggered Washington’s response. It’s called the Hong Kong ‘Umbrella Revolution’ in the popular media.

Dexter Gordon Blows…

7 October 2014 — Mosaic Records

Dexter Gordon: Lady Bird

This is an unbelievable performance by Dexter Gordon, probably from Belgium in 1964. His solo is explosive and unendingly creative. These were the early years of his European residency and he was in the midst of making one classic Blue Note album after another. It looks like a very young George Gruntz and Daniel Humair on piano and drums respectively.

Spinning in the Grave: Western Media Dig Dirt to Cover Kiev’s Atrocities

04.10.2014 | 00:00 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

The Western media went into supercilious mode this week over evidence of atrocities and mass graves in eastern Ukraine committed by the Kiev regime. Rather than dealing with disturbing facts that point to the Western-backed regime’s culpability in war crimes, Western media tried instead to divert the focus by claiming that «pro-Kremlin» Russian news outlets were guilty of crude propaganda. Britain’s Daily Telegraph – a repository for Western intelligence – claimed that Russia was «distorting facts» over the discovery last week of mass graves near Donetsk city…
