Traditionally, a chaplain is a minister in a specialized setting such as a priest, pastor, rabbi, imam, humanist chaplain or lay representative of a world view attached to a secular institution such as a hospital, prison, military unit, police department, university, or private chapel. Though originally the word "chaplain" referred to representatives of the Christian faith, it is now applied to men and women of other religions or philosophical traditions–such as in the case of the humanist chaplains serving with military forces in the Netherlands and Belgium. In recent years many lay individuals have received professional training in chaplaincy and are now appointed as chaplains in schools, hospitals, universities, prisons and elsewhere to work alongside or instead of official members of the clergy.
A chaplain provides pastoral (spiritual) and emotional support for service personnel, including the conduct of religious services at sea or in the field. Military chaplains have a long history; the first English military-oriented chaplains, for instance, were priests on board proto-naval vessels during the 8th century. Land based chaplains appeared during the reign of King Edward I. The current form of military chaplain dates from the era of the First World War.

Charles Aznavour, OC (born Shahnour Vaghenag Aznavourian; Armenian: Շահնուր Վաղինակ Ազնավուրեան; Shahnour Vaghinak Aznavurian; May 22, 1924) is an Armenian-French singer, songwriter, actor, public activist and diplomat. Besides being one of France's most popular and enduring singers, he is also one of the best-known singers in the world. Charles Aznavour (pronounced in French as Sharl Aznavoor) is known for his unique tenor voice: clear and ringing in its upper reaches, with gravelly and profound low notes. He has appeared in more than sixty movies, composed about a thousand songs (including 150 at least in English, 100 in Italian, 70 in Spanish, and 50 in German), and sold well over 100 million records.
In 1998, Charles Aznavour was named Entertainer of the Century by CNN and users of Time Online from around the globe. He was recognized as the century's outstanding performer, with nearly 18% of the total vote, edging out Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan. He has sung for presidents, popes, and royalty, as well as at humanitarian events, and is the founder of the charitable organization Aznavour for Armenia along with his long-time friend impresario Levon Sayan.
Sent from news rooms, straight to television sets, to show you what is wrong.
Catch this bullet with my face. Now were making such a mess.
Were so organized in every way, but never let it show.
Its what were all about this time.
These hands will break if they try to hold us down.
Im sure all this is fate.
Sent from stereos to let your ears tune-in.
All acquaintances in this now are dead.
Now this heart is chained without a key for its lock.
Sing for empathy.
Were so organized in every way, but never let it show.
Its what were all about this time.
These hands will break if they try to hold us down.
Im sure all this is fate.
We've wasted too many lines on you.
And I keep wondering how long itll take
Til I learn that were sold.
We are the ones who know what darkness brings
When the lights are low.
Just break it down one more time for me.
And this time well get away red handed.
From this bed and these walls, lets softly slip away,
Lets softly slip away to somewhere new.
Give me more scream and less Oh!
My two bloodshot eyes are tearing off your clothes.
Sleeping with the enemys my fun, lets not look back.
I should have known not to trust smoke filled lungs and hazy eyes.
But you looked so good wrapped inside lights.
Small talk is so sweet, especially when all we want is
To run in opposite directions every time we meet.
Give me more scream and less Oh!
My two bloodshot eyes are tearing off your clothes.
Sleeping with the enemys my fun, lets not look back.
Why wait now? Just lie, we all are running, running to hide.
And I wont begin to suffer, but this wont begin to change.
Weve all been running for too long.
Now theyre laughing and staring at you.
This picture frame crashes to the ground, onto photographs spread across the floor.
These ceiling tiles keep coming down. This buildings got to fall.
Put this memo in your pocket so you dont forget the way you felt.
Still I wear these blank lines on my sleeves and in my hands.
And its so terrible how everyone will wait, in line to jump through windows.
The clock says time has come for me to walk out of my own grave.
But my neighbors steal the silence off my shelves and give it out to everyone.
Put this memo in your pocket so you dont forget the way you felt.
Still I wear these blank lines on my sleeves and in my hands.
And its so terrible how everyone will wait, in line to jump through windows.
And I cant wait until this town burns straight down to the ground.
Cause theres no more air left inside this room. Its a furnace now, as were burning up.
The clock strikes 10 on this broken face. Hands crash down, the gears delay.
But theres one more line I thought you should hear. Im dying now, thanks to you my dear.
Put this memo in your pocket so you dont forget the way you felt.
Still I wear these blank lines on my sleeves and in my hands.
Your voice is stopping my entirety from letting everyone know
How I feel today. (So routine and so damn clear.)
And its making me a little down, the way that this all gets to me.
Youre so overrated, underestimated, and sometimes in between.
But I cant stop this from taking all we know.
Theyre in backrooms and by front doors and running all our studios.
(I dont need you) So please dont compromise.
Its hard enough without you breathing down my neck, while Im just screaming.
So stop dreaming and stop hoping, and start picking up your mess.
(They say they all are liars, son).
Cause they hide under the floorboards as the world passes them by.
Youre just like Ive been warned.
But I cant stop this from taking all we know.
Theyre in backrooms and by front doors and running all our studios.
(I dont need you) So please dont compromise.
Its hard enough without you breathing down my neck, while Im just screaming.
(I dont need you) So please dont compromise.
Its hard enough without you breathing down my neck, while Im just screaming.
There I stand, once again.
Im all alone.
There I stand, once again.
There is no place for me to call a home.
Ive got feelings of desperation, day after day.
I know that Im not perfect.
Who cares anyway?
There I stand never again.
What have I done?
There I stand never again.
I cant take back, my life is gone.
Ive got feelings of desperation, day after day.
I know that Im not perfect.
Who cares anyway?
Dont say that you want to help me.
Ill be gone and youll forget me.
Ive got feelings of desperation day after day.
I know that Im not perfect.
Who cares anyway?
Ive got feelings of desperation. (Im not happy, Im not healthy.)
Day after day. (Dont lie to me.)
I know that Im not perfect. (Youre not there, no one cares.)
Alone, sitting in her room Im taking all the space.
The air is thin, the lamp is bright, as I am falling out of sight.
I just need a lift, a pick me up.
Now theyre lying in their beds, and the blood is on their hands.
Its ok, you can cry yourself to sleep tonight.
Ill be alone. Youll be waiting in the corner with my gun.
We walk right past the street light to the corner filled with lust.
We loved to fast, we fell apart, and all weve got is a picture of
Two blackened hearts left in the sky. All I have is what is mine.
Now theyre lying in their beds, and the blood is on their hands.
Its ok, you can cry yourself to sleep tonight.
Ill be alone. Youll be waiting in the corner with my gun.
Oh my God, Im falling faster. Now weve lost it all!
So they say that we are willing, but were never going to give it up.
Now theyre lying in their beds, and the blood is on their hands.
Its ok, you can cry yourself to sleep tonight.
Eyes shot darts across the room, for cement filled feet holding to the ground.
A fight in red sheets. The air grows heavy to the sound of our
The rhythm of our breathe cant stop the beating of our hearts tonight.
Id fall to the floor.
For hours were laughing with a smile.
Can we please take this one more night?
Deeply breathing, holding tighter, its so far away.
You got the style I need tonight.
So close the window shades and lock the doors.
Ill be the bed sheet creep, trying to make you scream.
