Public Domain is a 2003 Canadian film about reality TV. It was directed by Kris Lefcoe and stars Nicole de Boer, Mike Beaver, Lindy Booth and Dov Tiefenbach. The film is openly critical of reality TV and portrays the hosts and producers as cruel and heartless people. While it was considered a 'feature' film, it has toured film festivals more than it has been screened in cinemas.
Public Domain is a reality TV game show in which the producers infiltrate the contestants' homes without their knowledge and place them under surveillance for the world to see. In a Big Brother-style twist, viewers vote for who they think is the funniest and most dysfunctional contestant, and the top three based on these votes are chosen as the finalists.
Public Domain received mostly positive reviews, although many critics did not choose to review the movie. For example, the movie scored 57% at Rotten Tomatoes but only received seven reviews. Dennis Harvey from Variety did not give the movie a score, however the text of the review was borderline positive.

Got my irons in the fire down in Texas
Got a toe hold in Tennessee
Got my foot in the door of that California Store
Now I'm up to my ears in me
Chorus:
Don't be concerned if the song sounds familiar
Don't be concerned if it all seems the same
Just be concerned that your policies will kill you
It's all just public domain
I took a bite of the Big Apple
And I dabbled in that forbidden fruit
No they promised me points
And they slipped me skinny joints
And I've yet to see me any loot
From that man in the high-heeled Gucci shoes
Chorus:
Don't be concerned if the song sounds familiar
Don't be concerned if it all seems the same
Just be concerned that your policies will kill you
It's all just public domain
I sang in the Red River Valley
I've drank with the whores in Santa Fe
Yeah, I ran with the snuff queens in Dallas
Like I ran from Snow White in L.A.
Now I've broken all my vows to Demolay
Chorus:
Don't be concerned if the song sounds familiar
Don't be concerned if it all seems the same
Just be concerned that your policies will kill you
And it's all just public domain
Our lowly liquor
Lobby longs to back a road
To old time songs
Bible belts worn from here
And after all were
Born in the know
So rally round awhile
Jim Crow for I thought
I'd like to show
They can recall
The Alamo way down
In old Mexico
I left Academia
Amid sixty-two
Was it sixty-one scholar
Was cooled from the U
Doubtless more on sore
Wing than prayer
I up and just withdrew
He said that she said that I said that I did
Now I'm dead, oh shit, I fucked up. We fucked up.
Then he screams, and she cries
Then he’s pleased cause he lied.
But then his “tongue is tied”
But it’s ok because “he tried”
Wither or not it’s true, what exactly does that make you?
Whoa oh whoa oh we all are
Whoa oh whoa oh we all are
Whoa oh whoa we’re all the same
We’re just public domain
[x2]
Everybody’s got a masters degree
In telecommunicationary tactic
With a minor in therapy,
a mix when injected produces an asshole.
I hope you all choke tangled up in the cords of your switchboard.
I hope you choke on your pride when you swallow it whole.
And when your life is through nobody will be there to confirm that it’s you.
Whoa oh whoa oh we all are
Whoa oh whoa oh we all are
Whoa oh whoa we’re all the same
We’re just public domain
[x2]
I trust that you’ll expect the worst from us.
I trust that you’re exactly like us
I trust that you’ll expect the worst from us.
I trust that you’re exactly like us
Whoa oh whoa oh we all are
Whoa oh whoa oh we all are
Whoa oh whoa we’re all the same
We’re just public domain
