Reaganomics ( /reɪɡəˈnɒmɪks/; a portmanteau of Reagan and economics attributed to Paul Harvey) refers to the economic policies promoted by the U.S. President Ronald Reagan during the 1980s. These policies are commonly associated with supply-side economics, or pejoratively as trickle-down economics or voodoo economics.
The four pillars of Reagan's economic policy were to reduce the growth of government spending, reduce income tax and capital gains tax, reduce government regulation of economy, and control money supply to reduce inflation.
Prior to the Reagan administration, the United States economy experienced a decade of rising unemployment and inflation, (known as stagflation). Political pressure favored stimulus resulting in an expansion of the money supply. President Richard Nixon's wage and price controls were abandoned. The federal oil reserves were created to ease any future short term shocks. President Jimmy Carter started phasing out price controls on petroleum, while he created the Department of Energy. Much of the credit for the resolution of the stagflation is given to two causes: a three year contraction of the money supply by the Federal Reserve Board under Paul Volcker, initiated in the last year of Carter's presidency, and long term easing of supply and pricing in oil during the 1980s oil glut.

Ronald Wilson Reagan ( /ˈrɒnəld ˈwɪlsən ˈreɪɡən/; February 6, 1911 – June 5, 2004) was the 40th President of the United States, serving from 1981 to 1989. Prior to that, he was the 33rd Governor of California from 1967 to 1975 and a radio, film and television actor.
Born in Tampico, Illinois and raised in Dixon, Reagan was educated at Eureka College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and sociology. After his graduation, Reagan moved first to Iowa to work as a radio broadcaster and then in to Los Angeles in 1937 where he began a career as an actor, first in films and later television. Some of his most notable films include Knute Rockne, All American, Kings Row, and Bedtime for Bonzo. Reagan served as president of the Screen Actors Guild, and later as a spokesman for General Electric (GE); his start in politics occurred during his work for GE. Originally a member of the Democratic Party, his positions began shifting rightward in the late 1950s, and he switched to the Republican Party in 1962. After delivering a rousing speech in support of Barry Goldwater's presidential candidacy in 1964, he was persuaded to seek the California governorship, winning two years later and again in 1970. He was defeated in his run for the Republican presidential nomination in 1968 as well as 1976, but won both the nomination and general election in 1980, defeating incumbent Jimmy Carter.

(Lyrics by Cassidy)
Reagonomics killing me
Reagonomics killing me
Reagonomics killing me
Reagonomics killing you!
You really make me sick,
you really make me sick,
I can’t get over it,
you walk and talk just like a dick. Dick.
Everyday you boss me around and it makes me fucking scream,
living proof of one so insignificant to me.
You really make me sick (you really make me sick),
you really make me sick (you really make me sick),
I can’t get over it (I can’t get over it),
You walk and talk just like a dick,
Everyday you boss me around and it makes me fucking scream,
And now I’m living in a cave,
oh yeah I’m living in a cave,
out in the middle of the woods and now I’ll never have to shave,
‘cause I’m living in a cave.
And now I’m living off the land,
Oh yes I’m living off the land,
And I’m eating nuts and berries and I pick them all by hand,
Yes I’m living off the land.
And my best friend is a bear,
and we get along just fine,
though we started kinda rocky,
because he tried to eat my leg, so yeah. [Repeat]
I’d rather hang out with a bear who tries to eat my leg
I can’t count on anyone,
I just want to have some fun.
I can’t count on anyone,
I just want to have some fun.
I can’t count on anyone,
I just want to have some fun.
I can’t count on anyone,
I just want to have some fun.
Well I don’t want a fucking credit card,
I don’t care how fucking cool they are,
I see all the fucking damage they do,
every time I fucking look at you
You look like a fucking heart attack,
??? on your back,
I don’t want a fucking credit card,
