Plot
After years of worship, Shiva devotee Ravan acquires powers as well as immortality and misuses them to oppress the demigods and women. One of the women he molests is none other than an avatar of Goddess Lakshmi who swears to bring his kingdom, Lanka, to ashes. Worried demigods approach Lord Vishnu, who decides to end Ravan's misrule, by taking birth as Ram, the eldest son of Maharaj (King) Dashrath of Ayodhya; while Sheshnag, his conch and discus are reincarnated as Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughan respectively, and his spouse, Lakshmi, takes birth as Sita. Vishnu announces that Ravan will meet his end at the very hands of the ones he always looked down upon - humans and monkeys. When her father announces Sita's Swayamvar (groom selecting ceremony), Maharishi Vishmamitra asks Ram to accompany him to participate. It is here that Ram meets Ravan, one of the competitors to try and win Sita's hand in marriage. But it is after the ceremony that Ram will have to face the wrath of none other than warrior-sage Parshuram for desecrating and breaking the bow of Lord Shiva.

Rāvaṇa (Sanskrit: रावण, Tamil: இராவணன், IPA: [ˈrɑːʋəɳə]) is the primary antagonist character of the Hindu legend, the Ramayana; who was a king of Lanka. In the classic text, he is mainly depicted negatively, kidnapping Rama's wife Sita, to claim vengeance on Rama and his brother Lakshmana for having cut off the nose of his sister Surpanakha.
This depiction is, however, open to other interpretations. Ravana is described as a devout follower of Shiva, a great scholar, a capable ruler and a maestro of the Veena. He has his apologists and staunch devotees within the Hindu traditions, some of whom believe that his description as a ten-headed person (Daśagrīva) is a reference to him possessing a very thorough knowledge over the 4 Vedas and 6 Upanishads, which made him as powerful as 10 scholars. However, there is mention in Atharvaveda of demonic Brahmans called Dasagva (ten-headed) and Navagva (nine-headed) and the metaphor of a supernatural number of bodyparts to symbolize powers is an ancient one in Indian mythic depictions. Yet another interpretation of the ten-headed Ravana describe him to be a complete man with nine of his heads representing nine emotions that a man may possess (viz.anger, pride, jealousy, happiness, sadness, fear, selfishness, passion, ambition) and one representing the intellect.
Genya Ravan, aka Goldie Zelkowitz (born Genyusha Zelkowitz, April 19, 1940, in Łódź, Poland) is an American rock singer and producer. She is the former lead singer of The Escorts, Goldie & the Gingerbreads, and Ten Wheel Drive.
She arrived in the USA in 1949, accompanied by her parents and one sister. She had two brothers, who died. These were the only family members who had survived the Nazi Holocaust in Europe.
On arrival in America, her mother nicknamed her daughter Goldie. Goldie kept the name when she joined Richard Perry's band The Escorts as lead singer and later, when she became co-founder (at age 17) of the groundbreaking all-female rock band Goldie & The Gingerbreads.
In 1966, during a temporary breakup of the Gingerbreads, she recorded the singles, "Disappointed Bride", under the name Patsy Cole and "Going Back" (Immediate Records, released February), as Goldie.
When Goldie and the Gingerbreads disbanded in 1968, Goldie, now as Genya Ravan, became the lead singer of the newly formed rock band Ten Wheel Drive.
She woke one morning sad
realizing what she didn't have
prayed all night and all day long
but the feelings were too strong
Girl
you tore the heart right out of my soul
precious you were to me forever like gold
world
upside down
bright stars
inside out
Told her story right away
only tears would help to explain
letting go of what
could've become
unforeseen the damage was done
Holding back the sea with windmills
we fight for the lowlands
pushing back the sea with indents and liquorice lies
all of this time spent in marbled arches
all of this time spent in alternate lives
Supernovas in my darkened heart
