Sean Pertwee (born 4 June 1964) is an English actor.
Pertwee was born in London, the son of Ingeborg and Jon Pertwee, who played the third incarnation of The Doctor in the television series Doctor Who. They moved to the town of Stockton-on-Tees when Pertwee was twelve years old. He attended Teddington School in London.
In the early 1980s, Pertwee was cast as Captain Fitzpatrick in the play Tom Jones, based on the novel by Henry Fielding. After leaving Sunbury College, Pertwee trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and, after graduating in 1986, toured with the Royal Shakespeare Company for three years. He co-owned the Natural Nylon film production company along with Sadie Frost, Jude Law, Jonny Lee Miller and Ewan McGregor. The company folded in 2003.
Pertwee starred in the 2008 film Doomsday as Doctor Talbot. His voice is frequently heard in a variety of television commercials, documentaries and video games, including the medieval empire-building computer game Medieval: Total War and futuristic war games Killzone (as Colonel Gregor Hakha), Killzone 2 (as Colonel Mael Radec) and Fire Warrior (as Governor Severus). He is also the voice behind the Northeast's tourism advertisement which started broadcasting at the start of 2009. He is the current narrator of Masterchef: The Professionals, replacing India Fisher for the fourth series which began on 7 November 2011.
[Instrumental]
Everybody drinks the water from the murky pool
Surely as you think you're well
You know your belly aches
Everybody learns religion at the blind man's school
Will you reach for Heaven
When the preacher charms the snake
Is your faith so right
Are you so blessed
Everybody wanders in the forest
Is your heart so true
Count the butts and bottles
In the morning when we're gone
Fools agree reality is more than we should bare
How do you gaze into the sun from dusk to dawn
We love the truth enough to die but we won't swear
Is your faith so right
Are you so blessed
Everybody wanders in the forest
Is your heart so true
Are you so good
Everybody wanders in the woods
Everybody begs the juror be more than merciful
For the crime we celebrate for bigotry we learn
Everybody drinks the water from the murky pool
Surely as it heals your soul you feel your body burn
Is your faith so right
Are you so blessed
Everybody wanders in the forest
Is your heart so true
Are you that good
Everybody wanders in the woods
Everybody wanders in the forest
Kenny and Linda on the way to Chelan
Transmission's shot, no back up plan
Will they hitch a ride
Or get into a fight?
Moved to the West Coast
Packed up their things
The winters are gray
Now so are the dreams
They tried to make it all right
All our little wishes have gone dry
Made it to the water, waded in the lies
When we felt the heat, couldn't turn it into fire
Too caught up in our own desires
Said, "I do" in the month of May
Said, "I don't" just the very next day
Will they try again?
Or is it doom for them?
Moved to a city
Where hippies run wild
Everything's white
Now so are the smiles
They tried to fight the good fight
All our little wishes have gone dry
Made it to the water, waded in the lies
When we felt the heat, couldn't turn it into fire
Too caught up in our own desires
We're split right in half
It's making me crazy
A two-headed brat
Tied to the other for [Incomprehensible]
It's a family feud
The red and the blue now
It's truth against truth
I'll see you in hell, I don't mind
[Incomprehensible]
All our little wishes have gone dry
Made it to the water, waded in the lies
When we felt the heat, couldn't turn it into fire
The rain falls on the righteous and the wicked
Mine is not to reason why this is
In this I rest in this I find my refuge
That my thoughts and ways are not His
I spend my life on looking up the answers
It's rare that I can't find a reason why
But reasons fail at children without mothers
His plan is more than I can know
Have you ever held in doubt
What this life is all about
Have you questioned all these things that seem important to us
Do you really wanna know
Or are you a little scared
You're afraid that God is not really exactly what you'd have Him be
What should I hold to and what should I do
How do I know if anything's true
I'm somewhere in-between Canaan and Egypt
A place called the wilderness
I'm not one who always trusts their feelings
I don't believe in what you'd call blind faith
But faith that you can do all that you promised
And you said it all works for good
It's safe to say I don't see the big picture
I can't see the forest for the trees
And if five hundred lives
Were mine to get to know
You all could be spent on just this
God do you really understand what it's like to be a man
Have You ever felt the weight of loving all the things you Hate
Have You struggled have you worried
How can You sympathize
I have spoken too soon put my hand over my mouth
I can't contend with You
Your ways are so much higher
And we pass through the fire that Christ endured before us
When You were in the wilderness
Come along and sing
A song you knew before
Come along and sing
Once more
Come along and live
A life you knew before
Come along and live
Once more
[C.W. and backup singers]
Wake with me and feel the misty blue dawn
Come hear the wild bird sing her mornin' song
See the sun that only wilderness sees
Then walk with me and let your heart run free
Come on along and chase the wind once more
Come on along and try one more time
Come on along and find the trail once more
Come on along and live again
[C.W. and backup singers]
Come with me and see the ridge run wild
Come hear the canyon call her wanderin' child
Breathe the air that only wilderness breathes
Then walk with me and let your heart run free
[Musical interlude. Slow banjo pickin' and violins.]
Come on along and climb the mountain once more
Come on along and try one more time
Come on along and cross the river with me
Come on along and live again
[C.W. and backup singers]
Come with me and hear the night bird cry
And see the starlight fill the wonderous sky
Feel the joy that only wilderness feels
Come on along along and we'll be free
Fly with me and find the end of time
Run with me and feel the wilderness high
Come on along and live forever with me
I traveled far and wide through many different times, what did you see there?
I saw the saints with their toys, what did you see there?
I saw all knowledge destroyed
I traveled far and wide through many different times
I traveled far and wide to prisons of the cross, what did you see there?
The power and glory of sin, what did you see there?
The blood of Christ on their skins
I traveled far and wide through many different times
I traveled far and wide where unknown martyrs died, what did you see there?
I saw the one-sided trials, what did you see there?
I saw the tears as they cried
They had tears in their eyes
Tears in their eyes
Tears in their eyes
Born in the time of the changes
Where are you going
How will you fly
Is it for love or freedom all your days have been
Waiting for life to catch you
Watching and waiting and seeking a sign
In the wilderness
Each of us learns while we're sleeping
Sleeping we know
Waking it goes
Fashion a dream of heaven
Hold it close again
Only the Queen of Heaven
Watches us grow, hearing us cry
Wondering and searching and losing our way
In the mire
In the wilderness
Wilderness child, you've got to hold on
Wilderness child, you're gonna find your way home
Wilderness child, you've got to be strong
Wilderness wilderness wilderness child
Wilderness child
Let me see you
Stand in the light
Make me whole again
And if you can then show me
Approach me if you dare
Love is an open secret
Healing and hiding and wondering and weeping
Waiting for someone to find and open the door
In the wilderness
In the wilderness
In the wilderness
In the wilderness
In the wilderness
I took my lanes to the sea
we had just pressed the shells into our bones
and we saw the queen in the sky
gently revealing the treasures of her crowns
took off all of our Armour
Every last single drop of gold
And we banished the land
Lifted our bodies right up into the cold
Wilderness
In the darkest light
I call out to my brothers
come join me in flight
And the tears they did roll
from the salty sea, the rainy sky
and the wide eye, the wide eyes
My heart it did swell
As the grandest of stars burst out names in the skies
I can see but a thousand
of families and friends I have thought but long gone
And the thunder claps hands as I embrace them
And we held out to every single last word
Wilderness
in the darkest light
I call out to my brothers
come join me in flight
Dear wilderness, be at your best.
her armor is thin as the fabric of her dress.
i know the rules: the weaker trees bend.
but make her immune
when your temper storms in.
When she gains her balance,
be as still as you can be.
when she's climbing branches,
be the feathers underneath.
When she regains her balance,
be as steady as she needs.
when she trusts you blindly,
be her worthy lock and key.
Though it goes against
every grain of your sand,
like turning wolves
into lambs,
be your best for her,
your best for her.
When she holds her balance,
be as gentle as she needs.
when she shines her brightest,
To see those tears gleam in her eyes
I am so sadly mesmerized
I am nothing without you
So full of bliss about you
Angel...
Time is a wilderness
A vast desert of age
The sadness in your eyes
Lost faith
I realized why you cried
Now I realized why...
Angel...
Time is a wilderness
A vast desert of age
Chant my holy name
As the clouds descend
Storms blow by, and
Your name is written in the sand
So far away...
I see those tears gleam in her eyes
So sadly mesmerized
I am nothing without you
No, I'll never doubt you... oh, love
Angel...
Time is a wilderness
A vast desert of age
That sadness in your eyes
Lost faith
Now I've realized why.
- (Angel losing faith) -
You cried..."I fear for life"
I sighed...
Then you died
You cried...
I come here to praise You
I come here to lift my voice
but this silence breaks my heart
I come here to feel Your grace
I come here to raise my hands
but this blackness brings me down
am I one voice crying in the wilderness
am I one man alone in a crowd
am I lifting up my eyes into nothingness
I don't think so not right now
I come here to be filled up
I come here to just go on
Deserted heart
never end is sinking
without power being
couldn't see my caprice
filthy mask with brier on back
finality journey had lose the sense
fated thirst lock in dirty chest
go on go on
grip in hand going on
Archer Prewitt, guitarist for the Sea and Cake and formerly of the Coctails, has released three albums and an EP under his own name. Recorded in Chicago by Jeremy Lemos and Mark Greenberg at Semaphore Recordings and Mayfair, respectively, Wilderness is Prewitt's fourth full-length release. Most of the vocals were recorded at Prewitt's home and the album was mixed by Ken Sluiter. Prewitt's band consists of Mark Greenberg (bass, vibes, mellotron, stylophone, bells, piano, organ), Max Crawford (piano, mellotron, synthesizer, organ, trumpet) and Chris Manfrin (drums). Joining the core are special guests Susan Vøelz (violin), Fred Lonberg-Holm (cello), Richard Parenti (saxophone), Nick Broste (trombone) and Ken Champion (pedal steel).
Prewitt's guitar work is integral to the sound of his other band, The Sea and Cake, as it is for his solo work. However, here on his own, Prewitt manages to find an entirely different tone and timbre. Compared to his previous releases, the songs on Wilderness are primarily spare with more focused and refined arrangements. These leaner settings highlight Archer's vocals and more personal lyrics. "O, KY" addresses the loss of Prewitt's father, "No More" and "Way Of The Sun" reveal bleak post-9/11 melancholy, "Go Away" seems like a swan song, and a number of the others continue with Prewitt's love affair with love affairs - the good and the bad.
The nymph-like siren gazing from the cover of Wilderness is a pencil drawing by Archer. He describes her as being an incorruptible innocent; an omniscient "child of nature". This fantastical female ties in with the idea present in many of his lyrics ? championing love above all else, even in life's darkest time.
Prewitt's art does not end there; in fact, he is quite an accomplished visual artist. The third issue of his Sof Boy comic was released in July by Drawn & Quarterly. The character has been licensed in Japan by Press Pop Gallery where they make Sof Boy dolls, rings, carry-bags and other assorted collector's items. In addition to his comic work, Archer is a regular illustrator for the Chicago Reader and various periodicals. He has been included in the most recent McSweeney's comic collection, edited by Chris Ware, and is part of the traveling comics show, "Raw, Boiled and Cooked". Prewitt has had two gallery exhibitions of his original drawings and prints in the last year, and has a two-man show opening in Chicago this November with poster artist Jay Ryan.
We come from the wilderness
We come bearing gifts for you
We happen to like the city
We happen to like you too
Kisses are our friends my friend
And I know a lot about them
Kisses are our friends my friend
And I know a lot about them
Susan, you can't be travel leader 'cause your personality's wrong
I tried, but I can't do it either so I'm stuck in the ranks below

Scrape the ghost
Shattered in tears
Discussion where is your gold mine?
A thin line defined
Bank on it disaster
Thank on it a standard frame
It's all there it's all here
Scape the ghost
Scattered in tears
The fever the pitch and the fever the pitch and
Discussed the dismay
O discuss the amaze
We discussed the dismay
O discuss the amaze the amaze
The compartmentalization is to you and to me
O do say o do sell o consumer o do tell
Hallelujah
To think your know and once or twice and
Use to thinking

To use your thinking and to use your knowing and use your think and use your knowing and
Standing in one place and
Burn bad mind or burn out the bad mind
Hello critics your bad mind
Burn out your band min
The critic the bad mind
The blood is on the wall
As our opinions crawl

We are so far ahead of this future:
O this future that will last forever
Will this future O will it last forever
Are we so far ahead of this future
