Champions League—not to be confused with the Championship League— may refer to various sports competitions. It most commonly refers to association football:
Yacine Brahimi (Arabic: ياسين إبراهيمي; born 8 February 1990) is a French football player who currently plays for French club Rennes in Ligue 1. He plays as an attacking midfielder and a winger and is described as a "technically gifted player". His coach, Frédéric Antonetti, has declared that Brahimi will be the "future play-maker of Stade Rennais".
Brahimi started his career throughout various clubs in the Île-de-France region, having trained at ASB Montreuil and CO Vincennois. In 2003, he was selected to attend the Clairefontaine academy. Brahimi spent three years at the academy and, upon leaving, signed with Stade Rennais. While in the club's youth academy, he achieved several club honours. After turning professional, Brahimi was loaned out to second division club Clermont Foot. While at Clermont, he had a successful individual 2009–10 season and quickly became the subject of transfer speculation. In 2010, Brahimi returned to Rennes.
Brahimi is a France youth international having represented the country at all youth levels. In 2009, he played on the under-19 team that reached the semi-finals at the 2009 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship. Brahimi is currently playing on the under-21 team having made his debut in September 2010.
Ciro Immobile (born 20 February 1990 in Torre Annunziata, Naples) is an Italian footballer who currently plays as a striker for Serie B club Pescara, on loan from co-owners Genoa and Juventus.
After starting with the Allievi Nazionali,[citation needed] Immobile joined the Juventus F.C. Youth Sector under-20 squad where he formed a striking partnership with Ayub Daud that led the squad to win the 2009 Torneo di Viareggio, where he scored a total five goals, two of which came in the final. On 14 March 2009, Immobile made his league debut in a 4–1 home win against Bologna F.C., replacing Juventus' captain Alessandro Del Piero in the 89th minute, in a game where his youth system teammate Daud also made his Serie A debut replacing Sebastian Giovinco a minute earlier. On 25 November 2009, Immobile also made his debut in a European competition, as a second-half substitute to Alessandro Del Piero in a Champions League game against Bordeaux. In February 2010, he scored a hat-trick against Empoli in the Torneo di Viareggio final to seal the title. Following the Torneo di Viareggio 2010, Immobile was promoted from the youth team squad. On 1 July 2010, Immobile, along with teammate Luca Marrone, were sent on loan to recently relegated Serie B side A.C. Siena. In exchage for the two loans, Juventus acquired Niccolò Giannetti, Leonardo Spinazzola, and the Austrian midfielder Marcel Büchel, on loan from the Tuscan club. However, Immobile never broke into the first team, and in January 2011, he left Siena for Grosseto, another Serie B club.
Julian Draxler (born 20 September 1993 in Gladbeck) is a German footballer who plays for FC Schalke 04.
Draxler made his Bundesliga debut on 15 January 2011 in a 0–1 loss to Hamburger SV. At that time, he was the fourth youngest Bundesliga player ever. One week later, in Schalke's 1–0 win against Hannover 96, he became the second youngest field player after Nuri Şahin to ever start a Bundesliga game.
On 25 January 2011, Julian Draxler came on as a substitute for Peer Kluge in the quarter finals of the DFB-Pokal against 1. FC Nuremberg in the second half of extra time. He scored his first goal for Schalke 04 in the dying seconds of the game to win the match 3–2 for his club. He scored his first goal in the Bundesliga on 1 April 2011 against St. Pauli.
