In Charles M. Schulz's comic strip Peanuts, Snoopy was often stated to have seven siblings. Five appeared at various times in the strip: four brothers, Andy, Marbles, Olaf, and Spike; and one sister, Belle. The two others were never mentioned by name in the comic strip. According to the 1991 TV special Snoopy's Reunion, their names are Molly and Rover; however, their appearance is not considered canonical in the comic strip. In the June 6, 1959 comic strip, following the birth of Charlie Brown's sister Sally, Snoopy remarks that he has no brothers or sisters, and is an "only dog." However, in a March 18, 1971 strip, Snoopy writes in his autobiography: "I was born one bright Spring morning at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm. I was one of eight puppies."
Their mother is called Missy, but has appeared only once in Peanuts, on July 26, 1996. A t-shirt that was sold for several years at Target and other stores shows Spike, Andy, Snoopy, Marbles and Olaf in a parody of the famous dogs playing poker print, despite much advertising copy which misidentified the characters.
The Andy typeface (originally known as Mead font) is a childish style design by Steve Matteson and owned by Monotype Imaging. This typeface family has a controlled spontaneity feature which combines informality and legibility needed for long documents with handwriting form.
The TrueType versions of this typeface have been tuned to be highly legible at low sizes, a quality level that is called ESQ ("Enhanced Screen Quality"), a term used by the foundry.
Andy Bold is a casual script based on the handwriting of Steve's friend Andy Mead.
Andy is an album by American pop singer Andy Williams that was released in the fall of 1976 by Columbia Records.
Williams is not as focused on covering pop hits and standards on this album and instead relies mainly on original or lesser-known songs. In the liner notes for the album's 2002 CD release, writer Richard M. Erickson explains that the album "was recorded at six different studios to accommodate Andy's touring schedule. One recording session was at a portable studio set up at a Marriott hotel."
Andy was released on compact disc for the first time by Collectables Records in 2002 with eight bonus tracks that were taken from four of Williams's Columbia singles released between 1974 and 1979. Collectables included this CD in a box set entitled Classic Album Collection, Vol. 2, which contains 15 of his studio albums and two compilations and was released on November 29, 2002.
Two of those four bonus A-sides made the Billboard charts, including "Love Said Goodbye", which started a seven-week Easy Listening run in the magazine's January 11, 1975, issue that took the song to number 24. The other, "Tell It Like It Is", entered that same chart in the December 20, 1975, issue and reached number 17 over the course of 10 weeks, and its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 came four weeks later, in the issue for January 17, 1976, and led to a peak at number 72 during a six-week stay. Williams's cover of the song marked his last of 44 appearances on the Easy Listening chart, dating back to its inception in 1961, and his last of 53 hits on the Hot 100, the first being "Walk Hand in Hand" in 1956.
Chow may refer to:
The Chow Chow or Chow (from Chinese: 獢) is a dog breed originally from northern China, where it is known as the "Fluffy Lion-dog" (sōng shī quǎn 松狮犬) in Chinese.
The breed has also been called the Tang Quan, "Dog of the Tang Empire". It is believed that the Chow Chow is one of the native dogs used as the model for the Chinese guardian lions, the traditional stone guardians found in front of Buddhist temples and palaces.
The Chow Chow has been identified as a basal breed that predates the emergence of the modern breeds in the 19th Century.
The breed probably originated in the high steppe regions of Siberia or Mongolia, and much later used as temple guards in China, Mongolia and Tibet. A bas-relief from 150 BC (during the Han Dynasty) includes a hunting dog similar in appearance to the Chow. Later Chow Chows were bred as a general-purpose working dog for herding, hunting, pulling, and guarding. From what records survive, some historians believe that the Chow was the dog described as accompanying the Mongolian armies as they invaded southward into China as well as west into Europe and southwest into the Middle East in the 13th century AD. The breed belongs to a subset identified by a particular genetic cluster, which includes breeds from central Africa, the Middle East, Tibet, China, Japan and the Arctic. It has been suggested that the origin of this subset may have originated with pariah dogs in Asia, who migrated with nomadic human groups.
Daddy Has a Tail is the second studio album by Minneapolis-based noise rock band Cows and their first to be released by Amphetamine Reptile Records in July 1989.
The album was recorded and mixed by David B. Livingstone, who at the time was the guitarist for God Bullies, and producer Tim Mac. Originally, the record had been mixed to videotape but the result was of poor quality, forcing Mac and Livingstone to remix the entire album from scratch within the relatively short time span of 4 hours. Livingstone has said, "I always felt that they got really screwed. I felt really bad." and that he intends to eventually remix the entire album from the original masters.
The album was never released on its own on CD. It can be found on the Old Gold 1989–1991 compilation released in 1996, with the exception of the song "Chow". Amphetamine Reptile Europe released the album in its entirety on a two-for-one CD that included "Peacetika", although "I Miss Her Beer" and "Sugar" are combined into one track.

Margaret Calvert is a graphic designer famously known for her design of road signs and typefaces, including the font Calvert. At AGI Open London 2013 she tells Design Indaba about designing lettering and road signs from scratch, focussing on the driver's needs. Calvert's work started in the 1950s when vehicle ownership was booming and the government was alarmed at clogged up roads. With the decision to create motorways, the existing road signs became inadequate for the new speed people would be travelling at. Jack Kinnear, assisted by Calvert, embarked on creating a new set of road signs for the changing use of roads. "When you design road signs you have to start from scratch," she says. "We looked at what they already had and then started drawing letterforms in terms of making it readable...

This talk took place on Friday, June 16, 2017 in The Great Hall of The Cooper Union as part of Typographics. Special thanks to Google for their support of the 2017 video archive. Jonathan Hoefler had never encountered a typeface in which the capital “I” needed to be taller than the “H.” But then this new project, which he’ll be introducing at Typographics, isn’t an ordinary typeface. It’s the most uncharacteristic project ever undertaken by Hoefler&Co; during their twenty-eight year history, and it questions what makes a “serious typeface” serious. Visually, the design is unlike anything H&Co; has ever done before, celebrating styles of lettering far outside their usual haunts. At the same time, it’s the quintessential H&Co; project, exploring the kinds of themes that have defined some of t...

Ohne dich
Ohne dich
