Sagamu or Shagamu is a city and the headquarters of the Local Government Area of the same name in south-western Nigeria located in Ogun State near the Ibu River.
The Sagamu region is underlain by major deposits of limestone, which is used in the city's major industry, the production of cement. Agricultural products of the region include cocoa and kola nuts. Sagamu is the largest kola nut collecting center in the country. The kola nut industry supports several secondary industries such as basket and rope manufacturing, which are used to store the kola nuts.
Sagamu is the part of the Yoruba cultural region of south-western Nigeria. The city was founded in the mid-19th century when several small towns united for purposes of defense during the wars brought about by the fall of the Oyo Empire. Sagamu controlled the trade routes between the ports in the Niger Delta and the Yoruba mainland until the British occupied the city at the end of the 19th century. Sagamu has experienced both population and economic growth since the 1950s due to its position between the cities of Ibadan and Lagos. The population in 1995 was 114,300 but 2007 estimates place it as high as 228,382. The Olabisi Onabanjo University's college of medicine is located in Sagamu.

By May 1892 when the Imagbon War broke out between the British foreign invaders and Ijebu Kingdom, the Epe people of Lagos origin were suspected as 'internal enemies' who were capable of leaking security information to the colonial authorities in Lagos in exchange for some favours. At this period, the Ijebu people had developed into an independent sovereign state, side by side with other pre-colonial Yoruba states. The defeat of sovereign Ijebu kingdom at Imagbon was the beginning of the decline of Ijebu people who became wholly and completely annexed with the Southern protectorate of Nigeria before the terminal amalgamation of 1914. Relatively proud, enlightened, smart, and confident of their ability and environment, the Ijebus had established themselves as mainly traders and middlemen b...
OWUTU ROAD
Always remember the days that I worked in Lagos city, Nigeria.
I visited the statue of Christ the Redeemer, located on the top of Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro, in Novemeber, 2010. This video was shot during my trip. Recently voted as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, this statue is the symbol of Rio de Janeiro and is a must see thing for people visiting Rio. Though it was a cloudy day when I visited the statue, both the statue and the view from the top of Corcovado mountain was breathtaking. I hope you will enjoy the video.
Father thanks for playin' with my friends and me
I'm glad they got to meet the man I know
You always knew the words and taught me honesty
Picked me up when I was feeling low
If I could talk to you one more time
I know you'd work things out just like before
Where did I go wrong can you hear me sing this song?
Father I won't see you anymore
Mother dry your eyes why do you cry those tears?
You knew someday your baby'd be a man
Letting go is hard when it's for ever dear
I know it's late, but now I understand
If I could hold your hand one more time
And hear your lullabies just like before
I know that I did wrong, so I'm singing you this song
Mother, I won't see you anymore
Son, I wish you knew how much we're missin' you
I saw them cry their tears from up above
I try to tell them, but the words aren't getting through
I didn't mean to hurt the ones I love
Mother, Father, I hope to see you soon
And things will be just like they were before
I'm sending all my love, I'm watching from above
