In computer-based text processing and digital typesetting, a non-breaking space, no-break space or non-breakable space (NBSP) is a variant of the space character that prevents an automatic line break (line wrap) at its position. In certain formats (such as HTML), it also prevents the “collapsing” of multiple consecutive whitespace characters into a single space. The non-breaking space is also known as a hard space or fixed space. In Unicode, it is encoded at U+00A0   no-break space (HTML:    ).

Text-processing software typically assumes that an automatic line break may be inserted anywhere a space character occurs; a non-breaking space prevents this from happening (provided the software recognizes the character). For example, if the text “100 km” will not quite fit at the end of a line, the software may insert a line break between “100” and “km”. To avoid this undesirable behaviour, the editor may choose to use a non-breaking space between “100” and “km”. This guarantees that the text “100 km” will not be broken: if it does not fit at the end of a line it is moved in its entirety to the next line.

The word asshole, a variant of arsehole, which is still prevalent in British and Australian English, is a vulgar to describe the anus, often pejoratively used to refer to people.

The word arse in English derives from the Germanic root *arsaz, which originated from the Proto-Indo-European root *ors — meaning buttocks or backside. The combined form arsehole is first attested from 1500 in its literal use to refer to the anus. The metaphorical use of the word to refer to the worst place in a region, e.g., "the arsehole of the world") is first attested in print in 1865; the use to refer to a contemptible person is first attested in 1933. In the ninth chapter of his 1945 autobiography, Black Boy, Richard Wright quotes a snippet of verse that uses the term: "All these white folks dressed so fine / Their ass-holes smell just like mine ...". Its first appearance as an insult term in a newspaper indexed by Google News is in 1965. As with other vulgarities, these uses of the word may have been common in oral speech for some time before their first print appearances. By the 1970s, Hustler magazine featured people they did not like as "Asshole of the Month." In 1972, Jonathan Richman's Modern Lovers recorded his song "Pablo Picasso," which includes the line "Pablo Picasso was never called an asshole."

Amber Campbell (born June 5, 1981 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is an American hammer thrower. She competed at the 2005 World Championships and at the 2008 Olympic Games without reaching the final. Her personal best throw is 72.59 meters, achieved in April 2011 in Walnut, California.

Mark Shapiro ( /ˈmɑrk ʃəˈpaɪroʊ/; born in 1967 in Cambridge, Massachusetts) is currently the President of the Cleveland Indians.

Shapiro has been in the Cleveland Indians organization since 1991, when he was recommended by former Tribe GM Hank Peters. He officially became the general manager in 2001 when John Hart left.

Shapiro was named Executive of the Year by the Sporting News in 2005 and 2007.

At the end of the 2010 season, he became the Cleveland Indians team president, with Chris Antonetti succeeding Shapiro as general manager.

Shapiro is the brother-in-law of former Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini and a very close friend of Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli. He graduated from the Gilman School in 1985 and Princeton University in 1989 with a degree in history. He is the son of a Baltimore attorney and sports agent, Ronald M. Shapiro. Shapiro is married to Lissa Bockrath-Shapiro. They have one son, Caden Reid (born on August 28, 2002) and one daughter, Sierra Aris (born on August 2, 2004). Bockrath-Shapiro is an artist and she has her own art gallery, Bockrath Gallery. She is a 1995 graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Art. They currently live in Bentleyville, Ohio.
