U.N. is a Harlem-based hip hop group founded by Cam'ron in 2009. The group came to formation after Cam'ron had a falling-out with fellow Harlem rapper and co-founder of The Diplomats (also known as Dipset), Jim Jones in 2007.
Cam'ron, Vado, and DJ Drama released a mixtape entitled, "Boss of All Bosses," on August 12, 2009 followed by a second mixtape called, "Boss of All Bosses 2," on January 12, 2010. Both mixtapes were released under The U.N. banner. Additionally, The U.N. released Boss of All Bosses 2.5, an expansion of the first two original mixtapes, released on May 12, 2010. Cam'ron and Vado have since announced future plans for a solo Vado mixtape and album, as well as a U.N. album distributed by Asylum.
Cam'ron and Vado have released their first official U.N. album entitled Cam'ron & The U.N. Presents: "Heat in Here" Vol. 1 on May 25, 2010, manufactured and distributed by Asylum Records. Guest appearances on the album include rappers: Young Chris, Gucci Mane, and Felony Fame.
Additionally, The U.N. released the long awaited "Gunz N' Butta" album on April 19, 2011 through "Diplomatic Man Inc." and E1 Music. It features the singles: "Speakin' in Tungs" and "Hey Muma."
The United Nations (abbreviated UN in English, and ONU in its other official languages), is an international organization whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and achievement of world peace. The UN was founded in 1945 after World War II to replace the League of Nations, to stop wars between countries, and to provide a platform for dialogue. It contains multiple subsidiary organizations to carry out its missions.
There are 193 member states, including every internationally recognised sovereign state in the world but Vatican City. From its offices around the world, the UN and its specialized agencies decide on substantive and administrative issues in regular meetings held throughout the year. The organization has six principal organs: the General Assembly (the main deliberative assembly); the Security Council (for deciding certain resolutions for peace and security); the Economic and Social Council (for assisting in promoting international economic and social cooperation and development); the Secretariat (for providing studies, information, and facilities needed by the UN); the International Court of Justice (the primary judicial organ); and the United Nations Trusteeship Council (which is currently inactive). Other prominent UN System agencies include the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Programme (WFP) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The UN's most prominent position is Secretary-General which has been held by Ban Ki-moon of South Korea since 2007.
Malala Yousafzai (Urdu: ملالہ یوسفزئی, Pashto: ملالہ يوسفزی; born 1998) is an eighth-grade Pakistani student from the town of Mingora in Swat District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and is known for being a children's rights activist. At 13 years old she gained notability for championing the cause of the people of Swat by blogging for the BBC under a pseudonym about the atrocities of the Tehrik-i-Taliban regime. The international children's advocacy group KidsRights Foundation included Yousafzai among the nominees for the International Children's Peace Prize, making her the first Pakistani girl nominated for the award. South African Nobel laureate, Desmund Tutu announced the nominations during a 2011 ceremony in Amsterdam, Holland, but Yousafzai did not win the prize
Yousafzai lived in Mingora Swat, occupied by the Taliban before the military operation in 2009. During this time, education was banned and many townspeople were executed. Schools were destroyed, and girls' schools bore the brunt.[citation needed] She wrote a diary for the BBC under the pseudonym of "Gul Makai" where she related the deeds of the Taliban in Swat.
Hide the children
Don't make a sound sister
Hide the children
We will save this together
How do angels sleep with demons locked inside?
Lost yourself to a religion deep and wide
Show me faith, I'll show you faithfuls running wild
There's a chance we all are given trust your heart
Nothing is more important than to educate the lost
And the weak
Are you scared?
Are you scared?
Are you scared?
Are you scared?
Save your face, you're gonna need it, slowing time
Use yourself the anger feeds it one more line
Chip away the tie that binds you day by day
Take this pill so they can't find you, slip away
But nothing is more important than to emulate the lost
And the weak
Are you scared?
Are you scared?
Are you scared?
Are you scared?
I've been away
(I've been away)
For so long
(For so long)
I've been gone before
(been gone before)
But trust me
(But trust me)
Not anymore
Are you scared?
Are you scared?
Are you scared?
(Why do angels sleep with demons locked inside?)
Are you scared?
(Lost yourself to a religion, deep and wide)
Are you scared?
(Show me faith, I'll show you faithfuls running wild)
Are you scared?
(There's a chance we all are given, trust your heart)
