Alma mater (UK /ˈælmə ˈmeɪtər/ or US /ˈɑːlmə ˈmɑːtər/; Latin: "nourishing mother") was used in ancient Rome as a title for various mother goddesses, especially Ceres or Cybele, and in Christianity for the Virgin Mary. In modern times, it is often any school, college, or university at which one has studied and, usually, from which one has graduated. The term may also refer to a song or hymn associated with a school.
The expression is almost always used in the singular form, but the Latin plural is almae matres.
Alma Mater Studiorum ("Nourishing Mother of Studies") is the motto and original name of the University of Bologna, the oldest continually operating university in the world, and other European universities, such as the Alma Mater Lipsiensis in Leipzig, Germany, have also used the expression in their names.
At Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, the main student government is known as the Alma Mater Society.
On the campus of Columbia University on the steps of Low Library there is a well known bronze statue of Alma Mater by Daniel Chester French. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign also has an Alma Mater statue by Lorado Taft. A mural in Yale University's Sterling Memorial Library depicts the Alma Mater as a bearer of light and truth standing in the midst of the personified arts and sciences, painted in 1932 by Eugene Savage. Outside the United States there is another sculpture of Alma Mater on the steps of the monumental entrance to the Universidad de La Habana, in Havana, Cuba. The statue was cast in 1919 by Mario Korbel, and installed in its current scenic location in 1927 under the direction of architect Raul Otero.

XVI; Italian: Benedetto XVI; German: Benedikt XVI.; born Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger on 16 April 1927) is the 265th Pope, a position in which he serves dual roles as Sovereign of the Vatican City State and leader of the Catholic Church. As pope he is regarded as the successor of Saint Peter. Benedict XVI was elected on 19 April 2005 in a papal conclave, celebrated his Papal Inauguration Mass on 24 April 2005, and took possession of his cathedral, the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, on 7 May 2005. A native of Bavaria, Pope Benedict XVI has both German and Vatican citizenship.
After a long career as an academic, serving as a professor of theology at various German universities—the last being the University of Regensburg—he was appointed Archbishop of Munich and Freising and cardinal by Pope Paul VI in 1977. In 1981, he settled in Rome when he became Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, one of the most important dicasteries of the Roman Curia. From 2002 until his election as Pope, he was also Dean of the College of Cardinals, and as such the primus inter pares among the cardinals. Prior to becoming Pope, he was "a major figure on the Vatican stage for a quarter of a century" as "one of the most respected, influential and controversial members of the College of Cardinals"; he had an influence "second to none when it came to setting church priorities and directions" as one of Pope John Paul II's closest confidants.

Alice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier; February 4, 1948) is an American rock singer, songwriter, and musician whose career spans more than four decades. With a stage show that features guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, boa constrictors, and baby dolls, Cooper has drawn equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock to pioneer a grandly theatrical and violent brand of heavy metal designed to shock.
Originating in Detroit in the late 1960s, Alice Cooper was originally a band consisting of Furnier on vocals and harmonica, lead guitarist Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce on rhythm guitar, Dennis Dunaway on bass guitar, and drummer Neal Smith. The original Alice Cooper band broke into the international music mainstream with the 1971 hit "I'm Eighteen" from the album Love It to Death, which was followed by the even bigger single "School's Out" in 1972. The band reached their commercial peak with the 1973 album Billion Dollar Babies.
Furnier's solo career as Alice Cooper, adopting the band's name as his own name, began with the 1975 concept album Welcome to My Nightmare; in 2011 he released Welcome 2 My Nightmare, his 19th album as a solo artist, and his 26th album in total. Expanding from his Detroit rock roots, in his career Cooper has experimented with a number of musical styles, including conceptual rock, art rock, hard rock, New Wave, pop rock, experimental rock and industrial rock.
Rain is falling down my cheek
Searching for the sea
Tomorrow, like the rain
I'll be back home again
I watch, the bus
As it pulls out of view
Someday like that bus
I will be leaving too
But you know
It breaks my heart
To leave you
Camelback
My high school
And now, Alone
Crying in my beer
Cause old friends said goodbye
I guess I'll be leaving too
But you know
It breaks my heart
To leave you
Cortez
I'll miss you
Yes I will
Yes I will
You know I will
Yes I will
Yes I will
You know I will
Well so long... so long
Everybody... Everybody
I hope that I would see you again... again
Goodbye... Goodbye
Everybody... Everybody
I finally grew up
They finally let me out of school
Hey, remember the time - 'member the time
We took that snake
And put down little Betsy's dress?
Now I don't think Miss Axelrod
Was much impressed
No I don't think Miss Axelrod
Was much impressed
Well I don't think Miss Axelrod
Was much impressed
Oh, goodbye..
Everybody..
I hope that I would see you again..
So long..
Everybody..
How do you like that
They finally let me out of school
Goodbye..
Ah, I wanna get out of here
They let me out of school
How 'bout that, uh?
Goodbye
Hey, goodbye, guys
Maybe I'll see -
Maybe I'll see you around some time, uh?
Ey, don't make a stranger of yourself, uh?
Remember the Coop, uh?
May - I ho -
I hope you don't forget me or nothing
Looking back a few short years
When we made our plans and played the cards
The way they fell
Clinging to our confidence
We stood on the threshold of the goal
That we knew, dear
And though we had our fights
Had our short tempered nights
It couldn't pull our dreams apart
All our needs and all our wants
Drawn together in our heart
We felt it from the very start
It's all happened recently
Now we're living in that dream
We had not long ago
Everything is going fine
And now we just have to keep in mind
We must set brand new goals
We must not lose control
Of the possiblity of the discovery
That would let everybody see
That we were just meant to be
Mother Tongue speaks to Me
In the strongest way I¹ve ever seen
I know that she sees in Me
Her proudest child, her purest breed
She speaks to me in colours
That I can¹t really understand
I only know that they are ours
And to those I¹ll proudly bend
For I am your only child
And you my dearest mystery
From an ancient throne I defy the world
To kneel before the Power within.
For I am your only child
And she is my dearest mystery
World can¹t you see it ?
Am I alone in my belief ?
Virando costas ao Mundo
Orgulhosamente sós
Glória Antiga, volta a nós!
Alma mater !
Breaking waves announce my Bride
It is the only way the Sea could sing
Legends of Lusitanian pride
He sings the words I can not spring
At the Moon Mountain six wolves cry
Your lost glory we¹ll regain or die
For I am her only child
And she is my dearest mystery
Pagan Gods in conspiracy
For the sword of Tyranny
Mother Tongue has spoke to thee
In the strongest way they¹ve ever seen
World can¹t you see ?
I am not alone in my belief
Alma mater !
Virando costas ao Mundo
Orgulhosamente sós
Glória Antiga, volta a nós!
Alma mater !
Mother Tongue speaks to Me

The Mitchell Trio had its beginning when we were still in College,
and we found that in traveling throughout the Country, and singing for
groups just such as this one, that too often we forget, as many young
college men and women seem to be doing nowadays, all of the rich and
wonderful experiences of college life that could help prepare us
for the responsibilities of our future
Bright college years, we sing to thee
The golden years that quickly flee
Oh, shining moments of our youth
Where we can seek the truth
May what we learn midst toil and strife
Direct our footsteps throughout life
No man can ask for more than this
We sing to thee, Ol' Miss
We bow our heads, and give thee thanks
We'll ne'er forget, alas
Those teargas raids, the army tanks
Those riots after class
The National Guard, the barricades
Where we shared our first kiss
The senior prom, the hand grenades
We're going to miss Ol' Miss
We'll miss the cafeteria
That's crawling in wisteria
We'll miss the classrooms where we learned
And effigies we burned
My girl was only seventeen
When she was chosen riot queen
These memories we'll ne'er forget
God bless thee Ross Barnett
We're going to miss Ol' Miss
Glory, glory, what a helluva time we had
