Elmo: [explaining his new drug to Durant] MDMA utilizes Serotonin. Opiates, like heroin, utilize dopamine. Sort of like the same sensation you get after sex. Amphetamines increase adrenaline. It's like getting a personal visit... from God!::Durant: It's that good?
The Lizard: I want McElroy kept alive.::Dakota: I don't do alive, I do dead.

I mean, we know what's important. There's a war going on, man. A war. Ain't that a bitch? [cop sucks his teeth] I just graduated today, man. With honors. Got my degree in pharmacology. I'm licensed. Look, if you write me up on this drug charge, I won't be able to practice. So what we're talking about here is, is my life. The rest of it.::[cop lights joint, takes one hit, then discards it]::L.A. Highway Patrol: The Sixties are over... MAN!

Patricia Lee "Patti" Smith (born December 30, 1946) is an American singer-songwriter, poet and visual artist, who became a highly influential component of the New York City punk rock movement with her 1975 debut album Horses.
Called the "Godmother of Punk", her work was a fusion of rock and poetry. Smith's most widely known song is "Because the Night", which was co-written with Bruce Springsteen and reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978. In 2005, Patti Smith was named a Commander of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture, and in 2007, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On November 17, 2010, she won the National Book Award for her memoir Just Kids. She is also a recipient of the 2011 Polar Music Prize.
Frederick Douglass (born Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey, c. February 1818 – February 20, 1895) was an American social reformer, orator, writer and statesman. After escaping from slavery, he became a leader of the abolitionist movement, gaining note for his dazzling oratory and incisive antislavery writing. He stood as a living counter-example to slaveholders' arguments that slaves did not have the intellectual capacity to function as independent American citizens. Many Northerners also found it hard to believe that such a great orator had been a slave.
Douglass wrote several autobiographies, eloquently describing his experiences in slavery in his 1845 autobiography, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, which became influential in its support for abolition. He wrote two more autobiographies, with his last, Life and Times of Frederick Douglass, published in 1881 and covering events through and after the Civil War. After the Civil War, Douglass remained active in the United States' struggle to reach its potential as a "land of the free". Douglass actively supported women's suffrage. Without his approval he became the first African American nominated for Vice President of the United States as the running mate of Victoria Woodhull on the impracticable and small Equal Rights Party ticket. Douglass held multiple public offices.
Frederick II (German: Friedrich II.; 24 January 1712 – 17 August 1786) was a King in Prussia (1740–1772) and a King of Prussia (1772–1786) from the Hohenzollern dynasty. In his role as a prince-elector of the Holy Roman Empire, he was also Elector of Brandenburg. He was in personal union the sovereign prince of the Principality of Neuchâtel. He became known as Frederick the Great (Friedrich der Große) and was named Der Alte Fritz ("Old Fritz").
Interested primarily in music and philosophy and not the arts of war during his youth, Frederick unsuccessfully attempted to flee from his authoritarian father, Frederick William I, with childhood friend Hans Hermann von Katte, whose execution he was forced to watch after they were captured. Upon ascending to the Prussian throne, he attacked Austria and claimed Silesia during the Silesian Wars, winning military acclaim for himself and Prussia. Near the end of his life, Frederick physically connected most of his realm by conquering Polish territories in the First Partition of Poland.
James Earl Jones (born January 17, 1931) is an American actor. Since his Broadway debut in 1957, Jones has spent more than five decades as "one of America's most distinguished and versatile actors" and has been termed "one of the greatest actors in American history." On November 12, 2011, Jones received an Honorary Academy Award.
He is well known for his distinctive bass voice and for his portrayal of characters of substance, gravitas and leadership.
James Earl Jones was born in Arkabutla, Mississippi, son of Robert Earl Jones (1910–2006), an actor, boxer, butler, and chauffeur who left the family shortly after James Earl's birth, and his wife Ruth (Connolly) Jones, a teacher and maid. Jones and his father reconciled many years later. Jones was raised by his maternal grandparents, farmers John Henry and Maggie Connolly. He is multiracial, with African, Irish, and Native American ancestry.
Jones describes his grandmother, Maggie, as "the most racist person I have ever known", thus forcing him to develop his own independent thinking. His grandmother was of Cherokee, Choctaw, and black ancestry.
Hi, hello, wake from thy sleep
God has given your soul to keep
All of the power that burns in the flame
Ignites the light in a single name
Frederick, name of care
Fast asleep in a room somewhere
Guardian angels line a bed
Shed their light on my sleepy head
I am a threshold yearning to sing
Down with the the dancers having one last fling
Here's to the moment when you said hello
Come on my spirit, are you ready? Let's go
Hi, hi, hey, hey
Maybe I will come back some day now
But tonight on the wings of a dove
Up above to the land of love
Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the Lord, my soul to keep
Kiss to kiss, breath to breath
My soul surrenders astonished to death
Night of wonder for us to keep
Set our sails, channel out deep
After the rapture two hearts meet
Mine entwined in a single beat
Frederick, you're the one
As we journey from sun to sun
All the dreams I waited so long for
Fly tonight so long, so long
Bye, bye, hey, hey
Maybe we will come back some day now
But tonight on the wings of a dove
Up above to the land of love
Frederick, name of care
High above in sky that's clear
All the things I've been dreamin' of
Are expressed in this name of love
Bye, bye, hey, hey
Maybe we will come back some day now
But tonight on the wings of a dove
hi hello wake from thy sleep
The earth given your soul to keep
all of the power that burns in the flame
The lights the light in a single name
Frederick name of care
fast asleep in a room somewhere
guardian angels [line a bed]
