Plot
This film is a representation of the unemployed youth of today, and the hangover days of a group of friends with nothing else to do but live care free lives. As the group discuss the events of the previous evening, the film provides an insight into the difficult issues that can arise in unconventional living conditions, as the characters attempt to escape their strenuous home lives and live the way they want to, inevitably proving to be unrealistic, without the finances necessary.
Plot
We all have those people in our lives that are full of themselves. They think that they know everything there is to know or that they're always right. Meet Calandra Johnston, a freshman at Stratum High School. After an embarrassing rejection in middle school, Calandra is looking forward to a new start. She hopes that she'll finally find love. Instead, she finds Glen Holbrooke, a thoughtful boy who seems to say the things everyone else is too afraid to. The two become close friends and Calandra is hopeful about their future. But it seems like Glen doesn't want to be a part of Calandra's fantasy. One moment, they're the best of pals, and the next he's humiliating her. Something's off about him. Glen is hiding something. And when Calandra can't figure it out, she cuts him out of her life. After all, he didn't really matter, right? Everyone has their problems. Everyone has their desires that they will do anything to satisfy. Everyone has an opinion on what's right and what's wrong. But all too often, people get lost in that. They say things and do things that they don't really mean. They act like they're drunk, and sometimes they end up hurting the people they care about. So I offer you a new approach. A new way of thinking where instead of judging others, we act out of compassion. Where instead of intoxicating ourselves with our own opinions we are... sober.

9 times out of 10.
The times you'd pretend.
Katie more times then not you're
You're not my friend.
So stop pretending while it's ending
And it's time I start defending
And protect myself from any more abuse
The friendship was fictitious
How could you be malicious?
You haven't got a good excuse.
You're just a waste of time to me Katie.
And you're a waste of time and errant space.
And I've been wasting time on you Katie.
There isn't any time left I can waste.
Oh your masquerade.
It's pretty plain.
Katie it's quitting time now
Now I'm afraid.
Now I've never been a quitter
Now it's something to consider
Just consider me somebody from your past.
The only thing that's satisfying
Is not the time I wasted trying
But when I stopped that's when time ran out so fast.
You're just a waste of time to me Katie.
And you're a waste of time and errant space.
And I've been wasting time on you Katie.
There isn't any time left I can waste.
No way!
You're just a waste of time to me Katie.
And you're a waste of time and errant space.
And I've been wasting time on you Katie.
There isn't any time left I can waste.
Tumbling curls of green by stainglass streaming light
And a yellow coloured lampshade used to keep us up all night
And the smile upon her face,
the tears upon your cheek
And the night sky on the window
Your heart calling out to me.
Come running home again, katie
Come running home again
Cross my heart and hope to die
Shall I cause another tear from your eye
The mirror that won't talk and your nightgown on the door
And the old pedal singer just don't sing no more
You can roll the reels for hours
From the movie of this book
It's a question mark on this heart of mine
Sends an elder back to look.
Come running home again, katie
Come running home again
Cross my heart and hope to die
Shall I cause another tear from your eye
Now I'm looking through a tunnel
Back into the room
With the genius of a druid when the sunlight floods the tomb
And I'm never going back there,
and I couldn't anyway
'cause though I made the great escape
I never got away.
Come running home again, katie
Come running home again
Cross my heart and hope to die
Katie was a little girl who said "I'll find a way".
Katie was a little girl who said "it'll be ok".
Till one day she found a little bit of something she used to drown.
She said "I'm alive and I am free, but you see I have control over me."
But will you draw the line?
Turn a blind eye to all the faces that you know?
And she said, "go".
Katie was a little girl who never found the way.

katie you're a brave girl, and i know it's only just start, but i'm gonna be there at six with some flowers on sticks that were clipped just to make the weak strong and katie its a strange world where girls can get so broken-hearted and if it were me in the universe i'd get the worst of this gone
katie, katie i'm sorry that in your condition the sun shines been missing, but katie don't believe that it isn't there, and katie, katie be happy this world can be ugly, but isn't it beautiful we're not really here, and we're really not there, we're really not there
katie you're a brave girl, and courage is something i'll need now, 'cause it's been a hell of a day i spent fading away, we all fade sometimes i believe, and katie it's a strange world as i watch the tables get turned around, and you've got the strength that i lost in a thought that would carry me
katie, katie i'm sorry that in your condition the sun shines been missing, but katie don't believe that it isn't there, and katie, katie be happy this world can be ugly, but isn't it beautiful, we're not really here, and we're really not there
whoa
whoa
it's not the end of the world, it's not the end of the world, it's not the end of the world, 'cause the cops wouldn't break up this party
katie, katie i'm sorry that in my condition the sun shines been missing, but katie i don't believe that it isn't there, and katie, katie be happy this world can be ugly, but isn't it beautiful, we're not really here, and we're really not there, and i said we're not really here, and we're really not there, we're really not there
All this time, and all is fine
Don't call me paranoid
But I think some thing's going on
I know you say, it looks okay, yeah
But I've got my suspicions
But I don't want to be like this
'Cos I'm a reasonable guy, but I can't shake this
And I don't know why
Experience brings, a kinda sense for these things
Don't call me paranoid
But I think some thing's going on
'Cos it seems alright, oh, but it's too damn quiet
And I tell ya, I don't like it
Oh God, I wish it isn't so
'Cos I'm a reasonable guy, but I can't shake this
And I don't know why
Katie, will you say to me, will you just laugh
And tell me that I've got it wrong?
Katie, will you say to me, will you just tell me
Please what the fuck is going on?
Oh, for goodness sake, now you know I'd hate
To come over obsessive
'Cos I'm really, really, really I'm not like that at all
Did I say too much? Yeah, well not as such
Oh, look but there I go again
No, this really is not how I am
It's just there's something in my mind
That says, "Where were you last night?"
Katie, will you say to me, will you just laugh
And tell me that I've got it wrong?
Katie, will you say to me, will you just tell me
Please what the fuck is going on? Going on
Katie, will you say to me, will you just laugh
And tell me that I've got it wrong?
Katie, will you say to me, will you just tell me
Katie likes to run around
In cotton panties and a crown
She driving all the boys insane
Suckin' on a candy cane...
She likes to play the tambourine
Her favorite color's Army green
She's a vegetarian; she's a lovely loaded gun...
CHORUS
Katie has a way of seeing things
That everybody else is just afraid to dream of
It's funny how it seems, but when you look at her
I swear, you see love.
She wears diamonds oh her toes
She lets her belly button show
She puts perfume in her hair
You don't look at her, you stare...
I'm through with pastry,
No more sticky bun or cherry tarts
I want a good girl,
One who rocks but has a decent heart
Well I've been waiting
Now I'm sick of that
I think I saw you...
Katie, come out and play
I've got a present
For you today
It's got your name on it
I hope I spelled it right
Ohoh yeah
Ohoh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
She's got tattoos,
Runnin down underneath her shirt
She wears long sleeves
So you can't guess what's on her
But the coolest one
She can't hide
Yeah the coolest one
Says Dad
Katie come out and play
I've got a secret for you today
I think you're pretty
I wanted you to know
Ohoh yeah
Ohoh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
This is pointless
Cause she's already got a guy
And I would never
Hit on her and make her life a lie
But I don't care
I'll find another one
No I don't care
(spoken) Maybe she's got a best friend man, I don't
know
Katie come out and play
I've got a secret for you today
I think I love you
Though I dont know you well
Ohoh yeah
Ohoh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
ohohoh ohoh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Katie baby,
Are you ready for loving me?
Oh cuz I’m ready for loving you,
That’s all I want to do
Woo!
She was so caught up on the new trends,
I was caught on her, Can’t even pretend,
That I’m obsessing and it’s so obvious,
I find it funny how I find myself falling in love,
She says the best things at the right time,
She’s got me wrapped around her finger,
I can’t unwind,
I swear it happens every time,
Cuz I never thought that she’d be mine
Katie baby,
Are you ready for loving me?
Oh cuz I’m ready for loving you,
That’s all I want to do
She was so fresh, smiled bright as the stars,
Dressed to impress that girl she caught me off guard,
And oh, oh let’s play the part where I fall so hard,
For you and only you can,
Say the best things at the right time,
She’s got me wrapped around her finger,
I can’t unwind,
I swear it happens every time,
And I don’t know how to define
Katie baby,
Are you ready for loving me?
Oh cuz I’m ready for loving you,
That’s all I want to do
And whoa, is this happening?
Is this everything coming true?
Cuz it’s happening to me and you
Katie baby,
Are you ready for loving me?
Oh cuz I’m ready for loving you,
That’s all I want to do
Woo!
Katie baby,
Are you ready for loving me?
Oh cuz I’m ready for loving you,
That’s all I want to do
That’s all I want to do,
That’s all I want to do,
That’s all I want to do,
Katie got a ride home
She couldn't afford the fare
She offered the taxi driver
Her body then and there
The driver took advantage
The cab was dark and cold
Katie got her kicks that way
Searching for her soul
They'd say, oh, no, Katie
They'd say, shame on you
You'd say, what's your problem?
It's what I like to do
They'd say, oh, no, Katie
They'd say, shame on you
You'd say, what's your problem?
It's what I like to do, to do, to do
That night was dark in town
And the driver sweat and moaned
Katie looked over his shoulder
And faked her pleasured groans
Katie stepped into the cold street
The rain was pouring down
She opened up her battered door
In this dirty town
They'd say, oh, no, Katie
They'd say, shame on you
You'd say, what's your problem?
It's what I like to do
They'd say, oh, no, Katie
They'd say, shame on you
You'd say, what's your problem?
It's what I like to do
To do, to do, to do, to do, to do
You hear the lightning strike
See the look in my eyes
And you know that I'm hurt
Baby you said goodbye
Left me empty inside
Without you I can't survive
(chours)
You're just like other girls
I know
You care for me
And then you let me go
You're just like other girls
I see
You were the reason for my living
Katie
You took away my reasons for living
When you pushed aside the love I've been giving
I loved you more than life itself
You left me for three whole days
End of April 'til the start of May
It was me whom you betrayed
Katie Katie forever I wonder were are you Katie Katie forever I miss and I love you Where are you Katie?
Katie you are my lady so why did you walk away 'Cause without you by my side I can't last another day You got to tell me now when you look into my eyes And realise that you took me by surprise So baby tell me now 'cause I really need to know If I ever mistreated you or made you feel low Now I'm thinking of the times that we shared together Yeah you all of that and I'll love you forever
Where are you now my friend I'll stay until the end
Katie Katie forever I wonder were are you Katie Katie forever I miss and I love you Where are you Katie?
Hey love what's up how you doing We had a good thing that you had to go And ruin without no explanation What I did wrong I guess I got to go 'Cause it's time to move on
Where are you now my friend I'll stay until the end
Katie Katie forever I wonder were are you Katie Katie forever I miss and I love you Where are you Katie?
Where are you Katie? Where are you Katie?
Katie Katie forever I wonder were are you Katie Katie forever I miss and I love you
Katie Katie forever I wonder were are you Katie Katie forever I miss and I love you Where are you Katie?
Girl, where are you tonight?
I see no reason why you aren't here with me,
and I'm stuck here missing you.
The offer's open all night,
and for the rest of my life
I want to be the one who wakes up next to you.
I'll just convince myself
that all the
other boys who want to get with you
aren't going to matter to you
because you're waiting on me.
Katie I'm in love with you.
Katie I'm in love with you.
Girl, I figured it out.
pack your bags
because tonight we're leaving and we're never coming back.
clear your mind of all doubt.
we'll start our new life with the stars as our blankets,
and the sand beneath our toes.
and as we stare at the sunrise,
we'll laugh at all our past relationships,
and how we ended up here.
I'd share this plan with you,
every time I psych myself to call your house
I realize you don't know I'm alive.
I'll just convince myself
that all the
other boys who want to get with you
aren't going to matter to you
because you're waiting on me.
Katie I'm in love with you.
Katie I'm in love with you.
If there's nothing I can say to make you turn and look my way,
I'll still be in love with you
Katie, I'm in love with you.
I see you at every show.
I wonder if you'll ever know
that I'm in love with you
Fell into a dream again, wish the dream would never ever end
Met an angel with eyes the deepest blue I've ever seen
Just wish it wasn't a dream
She took me away and we flew across the skies
This angel looked familiar, and then I opened up my eyes to see
It was just a dream
A few days later I saw you, remembered my dream, can this be true?
You're the angel with eyes the deepest blue I've ever seen
This time it wasn't a dream
A few days later I looked into, the lovely eyes of you
I told you about my dream, and then your eyes began to gleam
We took hand in hand, and we walked across time
And every day I thank God for making you mine
We took hand in hand, and we walked across time
And every day I thank God for making you mine
