Hunger beyond the grave
mystery brother
Brothers (Danish: Brødre) is a 2004 Danish drama film directed by Susanne Bier and written by Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen. It stars Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Connie Nielsen and Ulrich Thomsen.
The film was remade as an American production with the same title (2009), directed by Jim Sheridan.
A Danish officer, Michael (Thomsen), is sent away to the International Security Assistance Force operation in Afghanistan for three months. His first mission there is to find a young radar technician who had been separated from his squad some days earlier. While on the search, his helicopter is shot down and he is taken as a prisoner of war, but is reported dead to the family.
His wife Sarah (Nielsen) and younger brother Jannik (Kaas) both deeply mourn him, and that brings them closer together. They kiss once, but pass it off as the grief and do not pursue the relationship.
Meanwhile, both the officer and a young technician are locked up in a warehouse, kept without food or water. After Michael shows them how to arm and disarm an anti-aircraft missile, his captors decide the technician is no longer useful and have Michael bludgeon him to death with a lead pipe in order to save his own life. Eventually he is rescued and brought back to Denmark. The guilt of what he did forces him to lie and provide false hope that the technician may still be alive.

Let's get to the point now
Just because we've got the same mom and dad
That don't mean I'm your keeper
That don't mean I owe anything to you
You don't care for me
And man, I don't think that much of you
CHORUS
Cause we're brothers, brothers, brothers
I don't approve of anything you do
Cause we're brothers, brothers, brothers
Cain and Abel and me and you
You drove my car when we were young boys
And you tore it up too
You never paid to get it fixed
And you got me beat up a time or two
I know I should forgive and forget
But man I still hold a grudge against you
CHORUS
It's as normal as it can be
This sibling rivalry
We should have dropped it at 22
But man I can't stand the thins you do
Cause we're brothers, brothers, brothers
You're always wanting something from me
Cause we're brothers, brothers, brothers
It was so much fun having you in the family
Cause we're brothers, brothers, brothers
Now that we're grown it ain't helped nothin' at all
Cause we're brothers, brothers, brothers
On my birthday, please don't bother to call
Cause we're brothers, brothers, brothers
Brothers, brothers, brother
Yeah, you're my brother, brother, brother
Brothers, brothers, brothers
Yeah, we're brothers, brothers, brothers
Yeah, we're brothers, brothers, brothers
Brothers, brothers, brothers

This isn't just about friendship
This is family right here
And that's a bond that can't be broken
You know what I'm saying
How do I feel about my band of brothers
Friends for life we understand each other
May be the best thing that happened to me
Swollen Members
When we met, started rappin' with P.
I remember when you got your very first tattoo
Now we're both covered
Through the highs and lows
We made the most of it
But now I know your true colors
I feel like God just blessed me
With two new brothers
Cause' I look to the cross
And I ask for proof of it
To the father, to the son
Holy spirit and the mother
I pray
And feel my pain wash away
Me and Prev we could walk
We could talk all day
And Rob is like my little cousin
I could scream at the top of my lungs
But they know I still love 'em
Hold me down
Lets go, one more round
You ready
This is the big one
One more round
Got your back
Through the thick and thin
We came up still brothers till the very end
Hold me down
Always felt like music saved our life
Kept it real through the drama
We still brothers now
[AJ Randall ajrandall106]
Got your back
Through the thick and thin
We came up still brothers till the very end
Hold me down
Always felt like music saved our life
Kept it real through the drama
We still brothers now
Who'd a thought
When we met up at extra large
Would have meant
We'd be next in charge
We were four then three
Then four now three
Now we stand together like a family undivided
Provide support
we live and die for it
It's the most important thing in my life
Mad, I remember when you battled to get into RSC
The first Swollen Members logo screened on the TV
A tour in Europe
Almost broke up in France
Our conversation, one more chance
Made Bad Dreams
Made Rob official
Brotherly love absolutely unconditional
Got your back
Through the thick and thin
We came up still brothers till the very end
Hold me down
Always felt like music saved our life
Kept it real through the drama
We still brothers now

Got your back
Through the thick and thin
We came up still brothers till the very end
Hold me down
Always felt like music saved our life
Kept it real through the drama
We still brothers now
We've done forty-five drives
Forty-five hour flights
Forty-five days a week
Forty-five minutes a night
Add another forty-five for encore
Hard core stage show
We don't lay low
Or run gun run
We take it as it comes
But whatever happens
We're going to make it as one
To my family
Thank you for everything you've given me
You had my back when no one else believed in me
Yo, how many hours have we spent
Exploring different cities
This I'll never forget
We're about to face our biggest challenge
One for all, all for one
All of this came from balance.
Got your back
Through the thick and thin
We came up still brothers till the very end
Hold me down
Always felt like music saved our life
Kept it real through the drama
We still brothers now
[AJ Randall ajrandall106]
Provide for my family
Ride with my family
Things tough, still by my side
That's family
Had a rough landing
No one's hurt badly
I'm difficult at times
But my friends understand me
I act crazy
But they act the same
Pulled me back from the flames
Gave me back my name
My brothers can't thank you enough for the love
Open my eyes, lets rise back above
And this time we will do it right
Cause' we learn from mistake
Never fake, keep our eyes out for snakes
Listen to your heart
We could make true art
Never let greed blind me again
Lets start
Got your back
Through the thick and thin
We came up still brothers till the very end
Hold me down
Always felt like music saved our life
Kept it real through the drama
We still brothers now

Got your back

We came up still brothers till the very end
Hold me down

Here we are
Late in the hours that start another day
Here am I
Skirting around what I really want to say
Brothers
Well, they hold a place in your heart
They're something apart
But then lovers
Well, that's a different thing to talk about
All this world
You know I'd give you my love if there were more
But these words
Cover the roads that we've walked so long before
Brothers
Well, they hold a place in your heart
They're something apart
But then lovers
Well, that's a different thing to talk about
(They're just really something apart)
That's another feeling
That's a different story
When we've really nowhere to start
That's another feeling
That's another place in your heart
When I say brothers
Brothers
We've got really nowhere to start
That's another feeling
That's a different story
They're simply just two worlds apart
That's another feeling
That's another place in my heart
When I say brothers
Oh, brothers
Whenever we two get talking about love
It always ends up
Ends up in tears
I would have thought by now you'd know me
So please stop cryin'
And wasting those tears
Brothers
Oh, brothers
My life, not yours, is that alright? No fight
I wanna quit it, no way, is that okay?
No don't you dare, don't you dare to touch it with your fingers
You sneak around, pull me down
Gimme no, gimme no, gimme no more bullshit
I know there's something goin' on
You better leave my life alone
You gotta take it as a matter of fact now step aside
We are brothers in rock, we won't let go
We got our music and we got our soul
With the sisters of rock we can change the world if we try
Cool down, move around
Someday, maybe you will understand it
My way, okay, feels so good
Feels so good, feels so good
To be with all my good friends
Don't you realize you talk too much
I got an easy way of life, don't touch
You gotta face it as a matter of fact, now step aside
We are brothers in rock we won't let go
We got our music and we got our soul
With the sisters of rock we can change the world if we try
We are brothers in rock we won't let go
We got our music and we got our soul
With the sisters of rock we can change the world if we try
In the concrete jungle we play rock n' roll
To set us free, to lose control
In the concrete jungle we can break the walls
That hold us down and keep us small
Don't you realize you talk too much
I got an easy way of life, don't touch
You gotta face it as a matter of fact, now step aside
We are brothers in rock we won't let go
We got our music and we got our soul
With the sisters of rock we can change the world if we try, try
We are brothers in rock we won't let go
We got our music and we got our soul
With the sisters of rock we can change the world if we try

So the airs getting colder and the news keeps us scared.
I still wrestle this summer in the bones of our tired and blistered hands,
Cause tonight we got drinks and just a couple of friends.
And the girl my brother likes is finally talking to him,
And his chest is all swelled like he's proud and happy.
Like hes got a great idea, like he's making a memory.
Wake up and come out to the car.
There's a east swell coming and it's howling off shore,
And we'll be lying like lions out in the sands.
But I'll be dead before you put a gun in my brothers hand.
So we make jokes back home, and we lighten the mood.
But growing up, my parents saw what sending a kid to fight could really do.
And now with the war I tell their a little shook up.
Because just a few mothers sons will never really be enough.
Not till half of our names are etched out on the wall
And the other half ruined from the things we saw.
Wake up and come out to the car.
There's a east swell coming and it's howling off shore,
And we'll be lying like lions out in the sands.
But I'll be dead before you put a gun in my brothers hand.
Wake up and come out to the car.
There's a east swell coming and it's howling off shore,

You need to get out of this house
I’ll walk you down to town
We’ll go act our age
Kick rocks, waste summer days
Penny candy at the general store
I’d buy us a pop if I had more
Keep walking inland all day
Spitting and cursing each other’s name
“Ain’t this what… ain’t this what brothers are supposed to do?”
The blood between us, makes it all but true
So we roll on through
Out past the quarries, sandpits too
Swim out among the rocks and cliffs
Ignorant youth keeps us from death
Find our way out to the tracks
The sun, it beats down on our backs
Well, heaven help us if there’s a train
Dodge it like the beaches of Normandy
“Ain’t this what… ain’t this what brothers are supposed to do?”
The blood between us, makes it all but true
And we saw that smoke rising over trees
And I swore, I swore, I swore that train was out for me
So I held him tight and felt those tracks rumble underneath
He swore, he swore if I didn’t let go he would knock me off my feet
i'm singin a song about a lonely guy
walking alone in the rain
he looks at the faces as they wander by
but they're all the same
his friends in his hometown are far away
his lovers are lost in a dream
he turns and he walks into a parlour game
he puts his hands out to touch
what he wants O so much
but its all double dutch
oh oh
what should he do know
could this be you
so teach me about emotions oo oo ooh
laugh at my devotion oo oo ooh
when god knows i've tried
to walk side by side
and keep my feelings inside of me
oh my poor brothers my friends
the women just ain't who they used to be
relationship's come to an end
without dignity
oh what it was to be a man
so proud so respected so strong
so tell me where did we go wrong
where the women give birth
and inherit an earth
where a man has no worth
oh oh
the game is over
no pleasing her
you know
the pleasers are the losers oo oo ooh
the abused become the abusers oo oo ooh
maybe i'm a fool
mute as a mule
keepin my cool
poor men
the women just aint who they used to be
nobody told me nothin bout that
my momma she done told me
SITDOWN there & EAT YR TEA boy

His prophecy still in my head
When shadows of pain in his crystal ball rised
a funeral for us he said
Dont fear the past, brother, dont fear the last
day of this war tomorrow well win
I am with you and you are with me,
So let the battles begin...
Bridge:
And in this final night we screamed into the dark
True are our hearts, blank is our steel tomorrow well
march off to war
Refrain:
Brothers, Brothers One sword, one shield, one will
Brothers, Brothers The wish of our King to fullfill
The thunder is rising, the battle is here
So let our swords sing, spread pain without fear
This castle must burn, so now storm the wall
The first is a hero, the second will fall...
Songs of the furious, Hymns for the brave
In bloodlust we conquer, in bestial rage
To men behind you, a sword in your back!!!
What is to do? Defend or attack???
Bridge:
I saw my brother and the hostile blade my past crushed
through my mind
I saw the king, the Knight... And Fathers decision was
right...
Refrain:
Sons, my sons, Give all your heart to the King
Sons, my sons, The only way this war to win
Strong Youngster, are you willing to bring me all your
power and loyality?
Yes my King!
So stand up as a knight in my realm and let your sword
keep honour and pride!!!
Strong Warrior, do you want to dedicate all your
strength and devotion to me?
Yes, my Sire!
So stand up and be a knight beyond those who care for
salvation and justice!!!
Bridge:
As I remembered the King, the sword it hit my side
Sinking down, I watch my brother... And this is our
time to die... :-(
Refrain:
Brother - oh - Brother I die, I spill all my blood
Brother - oh - Brother I failed in the last war I
fought...
Brothers, they were Brothers, out in the fields now
they died
Brothers, they were Brothers, Death found them in
eternal pride
Epilog:
And so both of us died
In a holy battle
To let our King survive
When our soldiers found us
there was an infernal cry
which shattered the sands of time...
The house was like a tomb
I was hiding in my room
As my brother made his way on down the hall
I didn't want to say goodbye
And I was trying to deny there was a war
And that he got the call
I watched him from my window
Walking down the drive
Then I ran down the stairway
Through the front door and I cried
You come back you hear?
And I let him see my tears
I said I'll give you my rookie of DiMaggio
I'll do anything you want,
Clean your room, or wash your car
I'll do anything so long as you don't go
But he said, this is what brothers are for
Well I have my heroes,
But the one I love the most
Taught me how to hunt and swing a bat
And I wrote him every night,
I said I miss our pillow fights,
But lately I just wonder where you're at
Sometimes freedom makes it hard to live
When it takes things from you that you don't want to give
I said you come back you hear?
I miss you being near
Laugh and fish down in the maple grove
I'll do anything you want
There must be someone I can call,
And just maybe they would let you come back home
But he wrote, this is what brothers are for
I may never have to face the anger of those guns,
Or lie cold and wounded in my blood,
Or know the sacrifice and what it must of cost
For him to love me that much
Well, it had been two years,
And I held back my tears
When I saw him in that wheel chair on the shore
And as I ran and held him tight,
That's when he looked me in the eye
And said I'm sorry that you have to push me home
Bucky, did you say you’d be my friend+
Brothers until the very end
I wish I knew what happened to you
Bucky, do you remember that “E”
We painted on your bedroom wall?
I thought that stood for eternity
But once again
I was wrong
‘cause you lied to me all along
And still I miss us
Hanging out
Every time I pick up my guitar
Bucky, do you hear that local band
Playing our song on the radio?
Singing “brother disarm me from my cruelty”
Bucky, I wish I could turn back time
To before you turned your back on me
I’d try to fix things before they broke
Bucky why'd you sleep with my girlfriend
When I was out working nights for your rent?
Why did you decideno to tell me?
Bucky you've made me hate myself
And I found out what a fool I am
Hold you down? You're so good but not so happy now. What
you have is not working out. It all seems to be crashing
down but you were my brother. Cut me side to side; open
me up wide. Always lacking pride you never seem to hide.
Just when you start to sing it always comes out like a
scream. You got to kiss my girls till their lips bleed
and then they learn. You got to make your loudest escape
but I still know you sweat. You were my brother, cut me
side to side; open me up wide. You were my brother.. You
No battle no fight
Not a single conflict in sight
Our fury and spite runs in our bloodline
Planted beneath the family tree
On a violent soil a seed of vengeance
Roots entwined
Roots grow deep
For a while united we stand together we walk
For a heartbeat I feel an ancient relation
We are boned by blood
For a second I saw a brother before me
For a lifetime ago divided by wrath
Now joined by hatred at last
Ill-nature and vile
Not a Fragment of endearment in sight
Our anger and wrath runs in our bloodline
Concealed beneath the family three
On a vicious soil a breed of vengeance
Growing tall
I remember the times when we'd fight
For a slice of cake
And my mother would slap us
For breaking the kitchen plates
And I hated the days
She dressed us all up the same
In those little green suits
Man did I feel ashamed
But Momma said remember
Blood's thicker than water
CHORUS
So brothers don't drift apart
Sons of your mothers
Sons of your fathers' heart
Don't drift apart
Now it don't matter when
I can call them at three am.
And they may curse at first
But I know they're sure gonna listen
I've had some really good friends
But time always breaks the bond
But all my brothers are there
When everyone else has gone
But Momma said remember
Blood's thicker than water
CHORUS
Don't drift apart
But Momma said remember
Blood's thicker than water
Minimal big mistakes, and the last one:
In the car or the store, you didn't ask for it.
Take your time, take the place, and react.
Does it in my mind set the pace?
And rewind to them. (x4)
Take a chance, make a choice, you couldn't not look.
Indecision overload is only chance figures.
Change my mind, make mistakes, and put it past them.
Raise the bar, set the course.
And rewind to them. (x4)
You're just the same as you ever were.
You fighting, no wonder why it makes no sense.
I'm just the same as I ever been,
But I'm the only one who doesn't notice it.
See me through the front porch.
Sure, I want more.
Off the cuff, doesn't measure.
Got a front door.
Take the stairs, make mistakes.
Just reroute for them.
On the spot, don't pretend.
And rewind to them. (x4)
You're just the same as you ever were.
You fighting, no wonder why it makes no sense.
I'm just the same as I ever been,
But I'm the only one who doesn't notice it.
Yeah, yeah ah hey, oh. (x8, 4 behind next)
Angel eyes
your tenderness could make me cry
open up your heart tonight
you and me as one
(I'm finding hard to say that I'm in love)
Hold me tight
if you go I'll surely die
you're the one I want for life
more than this
what can I do to make you mine, girl
Chorus:
time to fly away with me
for miles and miles away
love will take us where we want to be
high above the moon
high above the moon
uhuuuuuuuuuuuu
close your eyes and feel my heartbeat, baby
and you're the one I see right through me
read my mind
if your love is truly mine
I won't bring you down
(I love the way you move, your smile, your groove)
Take your time
let me guide you
don't be shy
if you want me
call me now
if you feel the same
my heart can't wait no longer
Like a shelter in the storm, I'll keep you warm
Know that you always can count on me
When everything fails, I'll be the wind in your sails
Know that you always can count on me
With you I am strong
I feel ten feet tall
If things go wrong you're there to break my fall
It's not our colours
It's not our race
That makes us brothers
No matter what we might face
It's not our last name, not the blood in our veins
That makes us brothers
The love we share makes us the same
Like the ground you walk on so solid and strong
Know that you always can count on me
Anything that you need, even the air that I breathe
Know that you always can count on me
With you I am strong
I feel ten feet tall
If things go wrong you're there to break my fall
It's not our colours
It's not our race
That makes us brothers
No matter what we might face
It's not our last name, not the blood in our veins
That makes us brothers
The love we share makes us the same
I want you to know, in my eyes you're heroes
And I can't imagine a life without
And if tomorrow never comes, I'll thank you for today
It's not our colours
It's not our race
That makes us brothers
No matter what we might face
It's not our last name, not the blood in our veins
That makes us brothers
The love we share makes us the same
It's not our colours
It's not our race
That makes us brothers
No matter what we might face
It's not our last name, not the blood in our veins
That makes us brothers
You look coldly at your brother
You see - how poverty takes his sigh away
Though you have all that you need to live
You don't want to see a brother's pain...
Oh! Is it so hard?
To realize...!
all that we do for others...
shows who we really are ...
... are we brothers?!
Ref.
Oh! Cold your eyes are
(cold your heart)
shadow lurks in
(the selfish mind)
brother suffers
(just beside)
don't you see that?!?
...don't turn a blind eye.
You look coldly at your brother
You see - how poverty takes his breath
Though you have all that you need to live
You don't want to see a brother's pain...
Please!
There's another hand!
Lonely branch to the sky...
crying for help!
Watch!
There's another soul.!
do you see your brother?
He dies alone...!
...your brother...
...your brother...
In a night so long ago
We made this eternal vow
We are brothers
Raised by our mother's loving hand
We are brothers
Forever together we will stand
Since the day that you were born
I felt your special energy
In your body painfully torn
They are too blind they cannot see
We are brothers
Raised by our mother's loving hand
We are brothers
Forever together we will stand
Wherever you go, they listen to you
A perfect body hides a perfect soul
One day to come they'll follow
Eternal truth will be our highest goal
Be aware of your fate
Your future looks black
Fire in the air
Burn!
We make this eternal vow
Through us your love will grow
Oh mother you will see
Your knowledge sets us free
We are brothers
Raised by our mother's loving hand
We are brothers
All way the babe on the floor
I'm rising in to the top of the line
And I was there waitin' for the sun
And I was there with the best sometimes
Lookin' out, past the rubble
Pick yourself up all down the line
I love you babe and I'll be there till the end
But until then it's crowded babe
Lookin' out from somewhere I've been thinking
I've been rollin' past the seas
Wonderin' where my friends are goin'
And wonderin' why they didn't take me
Lookin' out of the window of my room
I'm lookin' out where somethin' once ran wild
I'm lookin' down at the window on the floor babe
I'm lookin' down till I die
Comin' down like the fire in my heart
Comin' down like the risin' in the storm
Comin' down with a feelin' I've been burned babe
Comin' down like the fire in my heart babe
Lookin' out on the field like I've been mean
I'm lookin' down at the tables I've turned
And I'm wonderin' about all my friends down in the combat
Cause I was there with the best sometimes
Lookin' out, past the rubble
Pick yourself up all down the line
We'll be stranded but we won't be forgotten
Down here on the travelin' bay
My life is filled with fear
I cannot believe in truth
Ooh what am I feelin'
I may have been burned but I can't believe I've been lyin' on the floor again
And all I see is the darkness in your eyes
It's like loosin' ground on the one that I despise
Pick yourself up right down the line
Were you scared at first?
Did you really think I'd leave you hanging dry?
Have some faith, my friend.
There's so much more to this than meets the eye.
I fell into a fascination
with all that's beyond our control.
Like a smile, or a heartache,
or the truth of the soul.
All my brothers are loved.
All my brothers are safe
from what is wrong.
And what appears to be real
(isn't always real)
What's the point of wrestling with a mask?
I know it's only you down here.
And there is one thing, one thing
so simple, so elusive, so near.
There's no time for your hesitation.
Leave all your senses behind.
You are longing for reason
and it's here by design.
All my brothers are loved.
All my brothers are safe
from what is wrong.
And what appears to be real
(isn't always real)
All my brothers.
[Solo]
There's no time for your hesitation.
Leave all your senses behind.
You are longing for reason
