A goldfish named George underwent a life-saving operation last week to remove a tumor on its head.
"The surgery went swimmingly and George has now returned home with his loving owner," said a statement on the Facebook page of Lort Smith Animal Hospital, a nonprofit organization in Melbourne, Australia, where the procedure took place.
Dr. Tristan Rich, who performed the 45-minute-long operation, said that prior to the surgery, the 10-year-old George was unable to swim and eat properly, and was starting to "really suffer," reported the Sydney Morning Herald. When Rich told the fish's owner that the only two options were either surgically removing the tumor or putting George to sleep, she decided to do everything she could to save the fish, as she was "quite attached" to him.

In other words, we have a lively education style, During the class we use creative theatre activities such as performing, doing Frozen Pictures--- We are practicing our voices and body language, dialogues. We take a deep breath, write play scripts. Sometimes, we perform as well. And our participants also perform in our own shows. Why do we do this? Because theatre is able to help you find your confidence and your dreams, make you cry and laugh, inspire you with new ideas, bring relaxation and meaning into your life, give you different experiences and happiness. Why do we do this? Because this is what people are looking for.

GOLD HILL, Ore. - Construction on improvements to the Gold Hill irrigation District's Diversion Dam are underway.
Crews are working to place a pipeline underground to replace nearly a century old technology.
Water Watch, a non-profit organization, teamed up with the irrigation district to help get the river diversion up to state and federal standards.
When the project is finished, the pipeline will run underground, covering up more than 1,000 feet of open canal, which fish will swim through instead of getting stuck in the canal.
Water Watch reports the project will cost about $200,000 and those in the Gold Hill Irrigation District won't have to pay for any of it.
State law normally allows work to be done in water during a period between June 15 and August 31, but an extension was granted to October 15 for the pipeline.
Officials say the unfortunate part of the project is having to shut off some residents' irrigation water, but explain there was no other way to get around the regulations of working in the river while salmon are spawning.
With the current conditions, and not being able to irrigate between now and mid-October, some lawns are going to turn brown. But some residents say the outcome of this project is worth it.

EYBDO (Emerging Youth Blood Donor Organization) is an initiative by a non-profit organization. Through it, our vision is to fulfill the needs of the Indian people for the safest, most reliable and most cost-effective blood services through voluntary donations. This organization is managed by us the young students who have an empathetic and determined feeling to serve the humanity.
Statistics show that there are 234 million major operations in India, 63 million trauma-induced surgeries, 31 million cancer-related procedures and 10 million pregnancy related complications which require blood transfusions.
According to WHO 12 million units blood donations are required per year in India but alas only 9 million units are donated per year that is just 3/4 of the recommended amount.
Trust us, every single drop of blood counts.
Blood donation by an individual can save 3 lives but it is not enough. So, encourage and aware people to donate blood. If you get 3 more people to give blood they could save 9 lives, and if they each get three people 27 will become 81 and will soon can rise to 1594323 lives.
Don’t worry donating blood is a safe and relatively painless process and there is no risk of contracting any diseases!

George the goldfish gets life saving tumor surgery
A goldfish named George underwent a life-saving operation last week to remove a tumor on its head. "The surgery went swimmingly and George has now returned home with his loving owner," said a statement on the Facebook page of Lort Smith Animal Hospital, a nonprofit organization in Melbourne, Australia, where the procedure took place. Dr. Tristan Rich, who performed the 45-minute-long operation, said that prior to the surgery, the 10-year-old George was unable to swim and eat properly, and was starting to "really suffer," reported the Sydney Morning Herald. When Rich told the fish's owner that the only two options were either surgically removing the tumor or putting George to sleep, she decided to do everything she could to save the fish, as she was "quite attached" to him. Gold Hill irrigation district pipeline project u
GOLD HILL, Ore. - Construction on improvements to the Gold Hill irrigation District's Diversion Dam are underway. Crews are working to place a pipeline underground to replace nearly a century old technology. Water Watch, a non-profit organization, teamed up with the irrigation district to help get the river diversion up to state and federal standards. When the project is finished, the pipeline will run underground, covering up more than 1,000 feet of open canal, which fish will swim through instead of getting stuck in the canal. Water Watch reports the project will cost about $200,000 and those in the Gold Hill Irrigation District won't have to pay for any of it. State law normally allows work to be done in water during a period between June 15 and August 31, but an extension was granted to October 15 for the pipeline. Officials say the unfortunate part of the project is having to shut off some residents' irrigation water, but explain there was no other way to get around the regulations of working in the river while salmon are spawning. With the current conditions, and not being able to irrigate between now and mid-October, some lawns are going to turn brown. A nonprofit organization (NPO) is an organization that uses surplus revenues to achieve its goals rather than to distribute them as profit or dividends. States in the United States defer to the IRS designation conferred under United States Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c), when the IRS deems an organization eligible.
While not-for-profit organizations are permitted to generate surplus revenues, they must be retained by the organization for its self-preservation, expansion, or plans. NPOs have controlling members or boards. Many have paid staff including management, while others employ unpaid volunteers and even executives who work with or without compensation (occasionally nominal). Where there is a token fee, in general, it is used to meet legal requirements for establishing a contract between the executive and the organization.
Designation as a nonprofit and an intent to make money are not related in the United States. This means nothing can be conferred by the declaration. It is unclear whether or not this holds outside of the U.S. In the United States, such inference is the purpose of the Internal Revenue Code, Section 501(c). The extent to which an NPO can generate surplus revenues may be constrained or use of surplus revenues may be restricted.

Buffett is called the "Wizard of Omaha", "Oracle of Omaha", or the "Sage of Omaha" and is noted for his adherence to the value investing philosophy and for his personal frugality despite his immense wealth. Buffett is also a notable philanthropist, having pledged to give away 99 percent of his fortune to philanthropic causes, primarily via the Gates Foundation. On April 11, 2012, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Buffett was born in 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, the second of three children and only son of U.S. Representative Howard Buffett, a fierce critic of the interventionist New Deal domestic and foreign policy, and his wife Leila (née Stahl). Buffett began his education at Rose Hill Elementary School in Omaha. In 1942, his father was elected to the first of four terms in the United States Congress, and after moving with his family to Washington, D.C., Warren finished elementary school, attended Alice Deal Junior High School, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947, where his senior yearbook picture reads: "likes math; a future stock broker."
