Turkey, which lies to the north, has so far declined to take a frontline role in the battle against ISIL, despite an influx of refugees into Turkey fleeing the violence. Ankara’s caution stems in part from its concern about links between Syrian Kurds and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), an outlawed political group whose militants have waged a three-decade campaign pushing for greater Kurdish rights. Turkey’s president Tayyip Erdogan suggested it creates a safe haven for refugees inside Syrian territory. #Turkey military, #overlooking Syria, #Syria, #military, #Kurdistan, #violence, #Ankara’s, #militants, #outlawed political, #ISIL, #frontline role, #Syrian Kurds, #Tayyip Erdogan, #Syrian territory, #2014, #2015, #2016, #2017, #2018

Hollywood star George Clooney and his new wife, human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, made their first public appearance on Sunday since getting married Newly married Hollywood heart-throb George Clooney kept rumour mills whirling in Venice on Sunday as media reported he and his Lebanese-born wife were planning a second ceremony in Italy's floating city. The man once dubbed the world's most eligible bachelor bid goodbye to single life on Saturday and married human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin in a private ceremony at the 7-star Aman hotel on the Grand Canal. The two left the Aman on a wooden speedboat appropriately called "Amore" on Sunday afternoon, headed for the famed Cipriani hotel, where they were expected to have a late lunch. Clooney, 53, wearing a light grey suit, and the 36-year-old Amal, wearing a short, white flower-patterned dress with lace around the shoulders, waved at a swarm of photographers in boats and well wishers on bridges as the boat slowly plied the waters of the canal towards the Cipriani on the Giudecca Island. Speculation about more celebrations to come spread after the local government said it would close a number of streets around Venice's 14th-century Ca' Farsetti town hall on Monday. While the Clooney camp has been tight-lipped, local and national media reported that Monday's ceremony would be officiated by Rome's former mayor Walter Veltroni, who is a film buff and friend of Clooney's. The weekend extravaganza has been billed as the party of the year even as details remained secret and lavish receptions and dinners at luxurious hotels were shielded from prying eyes and photographer's long lenses. Clooney, a two-time Oscar winner, was the talk of the town after welcoming A-list guests including actors Matt Damon and Bill Murray, model Cindy Crawford and singer Bono to a drinks reception and gala dinner on Saturday night. Alamuddin has kept a lower profile than her new groom during the weekend's festivities, stepping out first in a black-and-white striped dress on a water taxi on Friday, before appearing in a more formal red dress that evening. Alamuddin has represented former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in legal proceedings. She has also advised former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan on Syria, an issue about which Clooney has spoken publicly. Clooney has also campaigned to draw attention to the plight of refugees in Darfur, Sudan, and the couple is expected to donate to that cause the fees earned from selling rights to the wedding photos to American Vogue magazine, whose editor-in-chief Anna Wintour attended the event. The Kentucky-born Clooney, who shot to stardom in the television series ER, had vowed never to remarry after his 1993 divorce from actress Talia Balsam and is said to have made a $100,000 bet with Michelle Pfeiffer that he would stay single. Even among terrorism watchers, the Algerian group Jund al Khilafa has not been a daily preoccupation. Its leader, Gouri Abdelmalek, had declared Jund al Khilafa's loyalty to ISIS earlier this month; the name means "Soldiers of the Caliphate." (There are other groups with the same name in Kazakhstan and Egypt.) In carrying out its threat to behead Gourdel, the group said it was responding to an appeal by ISIS spokesman Muhammad al-Adnani to kill "the spiteful and filthy French" because of their support for military action against the group. / In this photo released by the U.S. Air Force, fighter jets fly over northern Iraq as part of coalition airstrikes in Syria on Tuesday, September 23. The United States and several Arab nations have started bombing ISIS targets in Syria to take out the militant group's ability to command, train and resupply its fighters. A U.S. Navy jet is refueled in flight after airstrike missions in Syria on September 23. In addition to bombing ISIS, the United States has also taken action on its own against another terrorist organization, the Khorasan Group. U.S. President Barack Obama described Khorasan members as "seasoned al Qaeda operatives in Syria." President Obama acknowledged that the U.S. underestimated the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, also called ISIL) and overestimated the ability of the Iraqi military to fend off the militant group in an interview that will air Sunday on 60 Minutes. The president was asked by 60 Minutes correspondent Steve Kroft about comments from Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who has said the U.S. not only underestimated ISIS, it also overestimated the ability and will of the Iraqi military to fight the extremist group. "That's true," Mr. Obama said. "That's absolutely true." "Jim Clappper has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria," he said, blaming the instability of the Syrian civil war for giving extremists space to thrive. The comments were among the president's most candid to date about the rapid rise of the terrorist group that has ransacked much of Syria and Iraq in recent months. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/obama-u-s-underestimated-rise-of-isis-in-iraq-and-syria/ Follow Alex on TWITTER - https://twitter.com/RealAlexJones Infowars on G+ - https://plus.google.com/+infowars/ Like Alex on FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/AlexanderEmerickJones :Web: http://www.infowars.com/ http://www.prisonplanet.com/ http://www.infowars.net/ :Subscribe and share your login with 11 friends: http://www.prisonplanet.tv http://www.InfowarsNews.com Visit http://www.InfowarsLife.com to get the products Alex Jones and his family trust, while supporting the growth of our expanding media operation. US Expands Airstrikes on ISIS in Iraq - Video
US Expands Airstrikes on ISIS in Iraq - Video

Video news form Iraq: US expands airstrikes against ISIS. U.S. jets have bombed Islamic State targets southwest of Baghdad, in an expansion of the U.S. campaign against the militant group in Iraq. The Pentagon said late Monday this is the first strike as part of an expanded effort to go beyond protecting U.S. personnel and interests, as Islamic State goes on the offensive. Another airstrike was carried out near Mount Sinjar in northern Iraq. President Barack Obama told the nation last week that the U.S. would expand its military effort against Islamic State and lead a relentless effort to destroy the militants wherever they exist. Obama has authorized airstrikes on Islamic State in Syria, but has not yet decided whether to launch them. A senior official has warned Syria not to interfere with U.S. air action, saying the U.S. could retaliate against Syrian air defense systems. Obama has ruled out working with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad against Islamic State, which is fighting to topple him. The U.S. regards President Assad as an illegitimate leader and a criminal. About 30 countries have pledged to support Iraq in its fight against Islamic State militants by "all means necessary," including military aid. In a statement following a Monday conference in Paris on the crisis, diplomats said aid should come in line with "needs expressed by the Iraqi authorities, in accordance with international law and without jeopardizing civilian security." Paris Conference on Peace and Security in Iraq, nations represented, Sept. 15, 2014 Paris Conference on Peace and Security in Iraq, nations represented, Sept. 15, 2014 The meeting highlighted the "urgent" need to remove the Islamic State group from regions where it has established itself in Iraq. The officials also agreed to continue and increase emergency humanitarian aid to Iraqi authorities. The conference included officials from about 30 countries, the United Nations, European Union and the Arab League. It is the latest step in an effort to build a coalition to battle the Islamic State group, which has taken over large areas in northern and western Iraq as well as eastern Syria. French President Francois Hollande said there is "no time to lose" in the fight against Islamic State militants. As he spoke on Monday, French jets carried out their first reconnaissance flights over areas where the militants are operating in Iraq. Besides posing a threat to the Middle East, the Islamic State group is a menace for Western nations like France, where authorities estimate roughly 1,000 people have left to join the jihadist movement, Hollande added. The talks followed a tour of the Middle East by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to gain support for President Barack Obama's plan to deal with Islamic State militants. Kerry said a growing number of countries are prepared to join the fight, including several Arab nations offering to give military aid and carry out airstrikes, if needed. Neither Syria nor Iran were invited to the conference. On Monday, the United States ruled out military coordination with Iran involving Islamic State militants in Iraq but said it is open to future talks. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the U.S. ambassador in Iraq asked for Iran's cooperation, but that the request was rejected because the U.S. has "dirty hands." Iraqi President Fouad Massoum urged world powers to pursue Islamic State militants wherever they are. They must not be allowed any sanctuary, he said. Massoum said Iraq welcomed humanitarian and military support to fight the militants, including airstrikes, but he ruled out ground troops. He highlighted the importance of taking action against the Islamic State group, saying it is "in the interest of everyone." "If this group installs itself in Iraq, this will create of a lot of problems in Iraq, the region and the world," Massoum said. "We must try to be helped by other countries so there is international mobilization against this group that wants to install itself in Iraq and from there unleash itself on the world." Massoum said he thinks Iran should have been invited, given the long shared border with Iraq and the humanitarian aid Iran has been providing during the crisis. Video by Voanews.

West Africa is being plagued by a new outbreak of Ebola — a terrifying disease that causes its victims to bleed to death from the inside out. Ebola has no cure, and the latest epidemic is spreading fast.

VICE News visited Liberia, where many feel the new outbreak began, borne from the bushmeat markets of Lofa. Western scientists feel that the consumption and preparation of meat from monkeys, fruit bats, and other forest animals is behind the transmission of Ebola, and possibly a new supervirus, which if left uncontrolled could kill a third of the world\'s population.

About 30 countries have pledged to support Iraq in its fight against Islamic State militants by \
