Lederhosen (German for leather breeches; singular: Lederhose) are breeches made of leather; they may be either short or knee-length. The longer ones are generally called Bundhosen.

There is a widespread misconception that lederhosen are a traditional national costume (Tracht) in German-speaking countries. They should rather be considered to be workwear or leisurewear for working-class men.

The word lederhosen is frequently mispronounced leiderhosen (literally, "sadly-breeches") or liederhosen ("songs-breeches"). The German pronunciation is [ˈleːdɐhoːzən]. In English both /ˈleɪdərhoʊzən/ and /ˈliːdərhoʊzən/ are used.

Formerly, lederhosen were worn for hard physical work; they were more durable than a textile garment and easier to clean. Today, they are mostly worn as leisure wear.

Lederhosen were once widespread among Germanic men of the Alpine and surrounding regions, including Bavaria, Austria, and the German-speaking part of Italy's province of South Tyrol (formerly part of Austria until after World War I). But they were not usually worn in southwestern Germany or Switzerland.

Xabier "Xabi" Alonso Olano (Basque pronunciation: [ˈʃabi aˈlons̺o]; born 25 November 1981) is a Spanish World Cup-winning footballer who plays for Real Madrid as a midfielder.

Alonso began his career at Real Sociedad, the main team of his home region Gipuzkoa. After a brief loan period at Eibar he returned to Sociedad where then manager John Toshack appointed Alonso as his team captain. Alonso succeeded in the role, taking Real Sociedad to second place in the 2002–03 season. He moved to Liverpool in August 2004 for £10.5 million. He won the UEFA Champions League in his first season at the club, scoring the equalising goal in the final. The following season he won the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield. He moved to Real Madrid for the start of the 2009–10 season, in a deal worth around £30 million. Internationally, Alonso has represented Spain in the Euro 2004, Euro 2008 tournaments and in the 2006 World Cup and 2010 World Cup. He made his international debut in April 2003 in a 4–0 victory against Ecuador, and he won Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup with Spain.

Mehdi Benatia (المهدي بنعطية, born 17 April 1987 in Évry, Essonne, France) is a Moroccan football defender, who plays for Italian Serie A side Udinese.

He was born to a Moroccan father and Algerian mother and opend to play for Morocco national football team.

On 3 February 2010 Udinese Calcio signed the Moroccan defender from French Ligue 2 club Clermont, however he joined the Italian side in the following summer.

Benatia represented France at the U-18 level but later decided to represent Morocco U-20.

On 19 November 2008, he played his first international match with Morocco, a friendly against Zambia at Mohamed V Stadium. He replaced Youssef Rabeh in second half while Morocco had the advantage of three goals to zero.

On 7 June 2009, Benatia played his first official match against Cameroon in Yaoundé and that counts for 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification.

On 4 June 2011, Benatia scored his first goal for the national team, in a 4–0 African Nations Cup Qualifier over their arch-rivals Algeria.

Robert Lewandowski (Polish pronunciation: [ˈrɔbɛrt lɛvanˈdɔfskʲi]; born 21 August 1988) is a Polish footballer who plays for German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund as a striker, having previously played for Delta Warsaw, Legia Warsaw, Znicz Pruszków and Lech Poznań. He has been capped by Poland at international level.

In 2006–07, Lewandowski was the Polish third division's top goal scorer with 15 goals, helping Znicz Pruszków win promotion. The next season he was the top scorer in the Polish second division with 21 goals.

In June 2008, Lech Poznań signed Lewandowski from Znicz for 1.5 million zlotys.

He made his debut for Lech in July 2008 as a sub in a first round UEFA Cup qualifier versus Khazar Lenkoran from Azerbaijan. In that match he scored the only goal of the match. During his Ekstraklasa debut in the first game of the season in a match against GKS Bełchatów he scored a heel flick goal just four minutes after coming into the game late second half. In his first season in the Polish top division, he was second in the goal-scoring charts. The next season, he became the top scorer with 18 goals and helped his team win the 2009–10 championship.
