A dress (also known as a frock or a gown) is a garment consisting of a skirt with an attached bodice (or a matching bodice giving the effect of a one-piece garment). In Western culture, dresses are usually considered to be items of women's and girls' apparel.
The hemline of dresses can be as high as the upper thigh or as low as the ground, depending on the whims of fashion and the modesty or personal taste of the wearer.
Dresses increased dramatically to the hoopskirt and crinoline-supported styles of the 1860s; then fullness was draped and drawn to the back. Dresses had a "day" bodice with a high neckline and long sleeves, and an "evening" bodice with a low neckline (decollete) and very short sleeves.
Throughout this period, the length of fashionable dresses varied only slightly, between ankle-length and floor-sweeping.
In Europe and America, dresses are worn by females of all ages as an alternative to a separate skirt and blouse or trousers.
Dresses however can be cooler and less confining than many trouser styles, and they are very popular for special occasions such as proms or weddings.
Atsushi Sakurai (櫻井 敦司, Sakurai Atsushi?, born March 7, 1966 in Fujioka, Gunma, Japan) is a Japanese musician and singer-songwriter. He has been the vocalist for the rock band Buck-Tick since 1985, previously being their drummer from 1983. He was also a member of Schwein with Hisashi Imai (Buck-Tick), Sascha Konietzko (KMFDM) and Raymond Watts (PIG).
Originally Atsushi was the drummer for Buck-Tick. When the members graduated high school and moved to Tokyo, Atsushi's parents would not let him go too. He then asked Toll Yagami if he could be the singer for his band SP, but was declined. Eventually he ended up switching to vocalist of Buck-Tick, after the band fired Araki.
His last name was originally written with the first kanji as "桜" (Sakura), but when his mother died in 1990 he changed it to "櫻", the older version. He also wrote "Long Distance Call" about his mother's death. He married Buck-Tick's stylist in 1991, but divorced a year later, they have one child. He married again in 2004.
Abingdon Boys School (stylized as abingdon boys school) is a Japanese rock band fronted by Takanori Nishikawa.
Formed in 2005, the band shares a name with the British independent school Abingdon School, in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, the all-male school where the rock band Radiohead was established.
Abingdon Boys School began in 2005 when Takanori Nishikawa, known for his pop music as TM Revolution, decided to return to his rock roots in Luis-Mary with guitarist Sunao. They were introduced to guitarist Hiroshi Shibasaki (ex-Wands) and continued to discuss forming a band until an offer came to record a song for manga series Nana. The three presented a demo to producer Toshiyuki Kishi who became the fourth member of the band.
The origin of the name comes from a combination of Nishikawa's love of cars' anti-lock braking system and the resemblance of the initials to the pronunciation of the Tokyo district Ebisu where the band practiced. When searching on the internet for a backronym Nishikawa discovered Abingdon School and the connection to Radiohead, who's members are of the same generation. A.B.S are also all from the same generation and each fell in love with music when they were in school, so they thought "it would be cool if we could go back to that feeling again."
"A Whiter Shade of Pale" is the debut song by the British band Procol Harum, released 12 May 1967. The single reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on 8 June 1967, and stayed there for six weeks. Without much promotion, it reached #5 on the US charts, as well. It is one of the fewer than 30 all-time singles to have sold 10 million (or more) copies worldwide.[citation needed]
With its haunting Bach-flavoured instrumental melody, soulful vocals, and unusual lyrics—by the song's co-authors Gary Brooker, Keith Reid, and Matthew Fisher-- "A Whiter Shade of Pale" reached #1 in several countries when released in 1967. In the years since, it has become an enduring classic. It was the most played song in the last 75 years in public places in the UK (as of 2009), and the United Kingdom performing rights group Phonographic Performance Limited in 2004 recognised it as the most-played record by British broadcasting of the past 70 years. Also in 2004, Rolling Stone placed "A Whiter Shade of Pale" #57 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
put on that dress
i'm going out dancing
starting off red
glean and sparkling he'll see me
music playing make it dreamy for dancing
must be a way that i can dress to please him
it's hard to walk and the dress is not easy
i'm swinging over like a heavy loaded fruit tree
if you put it on
if you put it on
if you put it on
if you put it on
it's sad to see
lonely all this lonely
close up my eyes
dreamy dreamy music that make you feel alright
music playing make it good for romacing
must be a way i can dress to please him
swing and sway everything will be alright

going crazy
cant keep things in my head
spinning around in front of me
a figure of speech coming back to haunt me now
feelings how they flinch even after so long
dont know why you talk to me
im not as wise as i wish id be
saw me once in a dress
sleeping pills all the rest
now you speak with some distress
and id like to say you speak young and bolder
and i will try my best to fail
you may not be wise and i may not be older
all the things you said
i thought you said
were nothing more to bother now
its all too late
lets agree to disagree
closer to the feelings all my men would show you
dont know why you talk to me
im not as wise as i wish id be
saw me once in a dress
sleeping pills all the rest
now you speak with some distress
and i cant believe you asked that oh i cant believe you asked that
