A little poetry is a dangerous thing.
Irony. (from the Ancient Greek εἰρωνεία eirōneía, meaning dissimulation or feigned ignorance) is a rhetorical device, literary technique, or situation in which there is a sharp incongruity or discordance that goes beyond the simple and evident intention of words or actions. There is presently no accepted method for textually indicating irony, though an irony (punctuation) mark has been proposed. In the 1580's Henry Denham introduced a rhetorical question mark or percontation point which looks like a reversed question mark. This mark was also proposed by the French poet Marcel Bernhardt at the end of the 19th century to indicate irony or sarcasm.[by whom?].
Ironic statements (verbal irony) are statements that imply a meaning in opposition to their literal meaning. A situation is often said to be ironic (situational irony) if the actions taken have an effect exactly opposite from what was intended. The discordance of verbal irony may be deliberately created as a means of communication (as in art or rhetoric). Descriptions or depictions of situational irony, whether in fiction or in non-fiction, serves the communicative function of sharpening or highlighting certain discordant features of reality. Verbal and situational irony are often used for emphasis in the assertion of a truth. The ironic form of simile, used in sarcasm, and some forms of litotes emphasize one's meaning by the deliberate use of language which states the opposite of the truth — or drastically and obviously understates a factual connection.

What is good when the sun is shining
Is that it won't remain
Every cloud has a silver lining
But I prefer the rain
Leaving loopholes is a state of mind
To never give one's all
Everywinter has a spring behind
But I prefer the fall
When God closes a door he opens a window
When joy embraces your heart it cultivates sorrow
This is the beauty of irony
What makes the foxglove wonderful
Is the virulent sap
Every lamb is dyed-in-the-wool
But I prefer the crap
What is boring in Easy Street Town
The lack of obstacles in the way
Every stair leads you up or down
Heaven . . .
Paradise . . .
My life behind the line
A world up in the skies
But still no answers -
To my live Hapiness . . .
Love . . .
The things that I don't share
Feel empty in myself
Since the night my eyes-
Saw her Beauty dressed in black
Her picture in my mind
Like a vision disapears
A second-To eternety
In her eyes I saw a light A feeling,
long lost in time
Takes me to leave the skies
To leave the skies
Flying, running,
I search for her
No sign of the dream
I once had touched
Hopeless, laying,
full in pain
Embrace by the dark there's only one light...
One way
Carried by the wind
A wishper, silent scream
Her voice in my mind
Guides me to reach her al last...
In her cold lips
A taste of lust Living a sin
Not felt before
Out of her veins
I drink her blood within her live
There is a light
Dark night down on me
Fight back leave me be
Take me down to death
Dark night eternally
Of evil horns
And angel wings
A new child born
I'm the wolf
I'm the lamb
I'm...
Sun and moon
That make a day
No holy lord
Or evil god
I'm both extrems
Which need themselves
In me they fight...
Dark night down on me Fight back leave me be
Take me...
Take me...
Irony
Where there's a light
always liked grass to be green, but I just can't take the
rain it seems sometimes
And that's how it is with You and me, I hate the very
things I need sometimes
It's like a thousand pounds of irony come crashing down
on top of me the day I learned what it means to be free/
A heart that is enslaved to You, two feet that remain
chained to You and follow You wherever You may lead/
Oh, and then You'll see a heart that's free
Well it might just be stupidity, but I know my pride can
swallow me sometimes
And I know You know much more than me, but I forget that
fact so easily sometimes
Oh, but now I see Your plans for me
Oh, and now I know the grand scheme
Just 'cause I want it doesn't mean I need it 'cause I
know You've got the best for me
I may not know what, I may not see it, but help me see
You through the irony
Lord, give to me, oh, a heart that's free
Chain me now to You
Lord, give to me, oh, a heart that's free
Wakin up slow on a Tuesday
Grabbin a coffee and on my way
Drivin up, goin sixty-five
Just another day to get by
Oh my my, when I'll see the pretty face again
To have you to in my arms would be the greatest God
could give to me
Darlin, won't you be my melody
We're together yeah, if we're meant to be
So won't you be the best of me
Will you be another memory
Won't you catch a minute with me
And maybe we'll get past this irony
It's crazy how that even now
Nothing's going as it should be
I'm still bitter, I'm trying to say
I'll switch plans and we'll go away
I wonder why we suck at this
Situation that's obvious
Maybe it's me, maybe it's her
Maybe it's the love that's not for sure
Darlin, won't you be my melody
We're together yeah, if we're meant to be
So won't you be the best of me
Will you be another memory
Won't you catch a minute with me
And maybe we'll get past this irony
So won't you be the best of me
Will you be another memory
Won't you catch a minute with me
And maybe we'll get past this irony
Will the sun shine, will the sun shine, will the sun
shine
Will the sun shine today
So won't you be the best of me
Will you be another memory
Won't you catch a minute with me
Spiritual misery moments
Emptiness that fills the nothing
Treason feelings
And I'm not able to find you
I'm used to thinking about the time
When you were the kings of everything
I'm used to dreaming of the future where your presence
Will start to be heavy again
I'm used to believing in battles where you
Never lost your nerve
I'm used to following
Your way where you leave it
[Chorus:]
Everything gets nonexistent
Your presence liberates the revenge
The honour unties the scream
Your way unify our kingdom
I'm used to living
The history where you don't take part
I'm used to imagining
Prayers where you were the raven
I'm used to feeding
The ego in the darkness of the crying
I'm used to coming back
In the death of a lonely destiny
[Chorus]
Infamy
The scream of the black bird gives atmosphere
To the early morning
The poor steps surround the abbey
The axe that kills the sheep that screech
The eyes of the vulture reveal the mystery
Hey these may be the final words
We may ever get to say
So let's not worry about small regrets
It's too late for that anyway
Hey you eternal optimist
Have you still not had enough?
No place left to hang your trust
Shattered illusions fade to dust
If you could show me a true sign
That shining light that leads me down
A path I'd been in search of former life
I never saw but should have known
Hey you melancholy clown
Tell me how the story ends
Will it become another tragic tale
or nothing left here to retent
An ironic twist of fate
A scary view so far away
Yet I search the gray tomorrow
And wonder where you've gone
Some doors are better left unopened
Some things are better left unseen
Once you set it all in motion
Things will never be the same
