Staring down the walls, with your empty hands
Never forced you to feel anything
Stealing back the time and all the innocence of everything
Has finally made you see:it's finally made you believe
We seem fortunate for pain
And stale goodnights
I've been sitting here thinking for days
So fortunate for change
Wrapped around the nights, with all your emptiness
You'll see the face you believe in anyway
Giving back the time and all the innocence of everything
Has finally made you see...it's finally made you believe
That we're fortunate for pain
With the stale goodnights
I've been sitting here thinking for days
We're fortunate for pain
Stale goodnights
Fortunate for change
You're always bringing me down
You're bringing me down
Ending all the pain of never being here
Has finally forced you to feel for a change
Giving back the walls with your empty hands
How long can you feed on the fire that you never get to feel
How long has it seemed to be since you felt anything quite this real
She said that she needs some more space just to figure out who we are
She told him to just hang on
How long is too long
Close your eyes, touch your lips now...here comes her best excuses
Close your eyes she always comes around
How long can you pressure for more while the pleasures too much not to breathe
And she said you're my favorite baby, excuse me while I try to breathe
She told him honesty is what made us more than just good friends
How long will it be too long before the honesty finally ends again
Keeps dragging him down again
Close your eyes, touch your lips now...here comes her best excuses
Close your eyes and we're all listening, here comes her best excuses
Close your eyes she always comes around
You and me standing on the edge
Of a waterfall
And through the clouds I can see the sun
Shining through it all
Lying somewhere forgotten in time
Like a stone we are so cold
And where we go from here baby
I don't know
Cause I was so wrong for so long
Now it's time I picked up
And time I moved on
To bigger and better things for me
And it feels so right to stand up and fight
For what you believe in go on it's all right
Don't be afraid
You and me standing face to face
In the street
Trying to find some common ground
Somewhere that we can meet
Now you figure it out they say
It just takes a little time
But I don't know if I can go on
It's too far this time
Now I don't want to be the one to hurt you
So forgive me for what I said
The colors bleed in from the downslide, it's always been a part of the game
You're still standing around in squares wondering who's to blame
For all the years, gone by much quicker when you're young
We'll still smell the flowers bloom long after you're gone
You won't waste your time on lonely tales and nursery rhymes
Waste your time on clouded words and borrowed time but I have...I have to
The bottom just burned from the downslide
It's always been a part of your game, still standing around feeling
Proud with your Daddy's name
But can you feel...my heart gets darker with the sun?
So eager to please your past that you're willing to forget the one
Who won't waste your time on lonely tales and nursery rhymes
Waste your time on borrowed words and clouded minds but I have...I have to
Bitterness will get the best of you
Emptiness will get the best of you
Loneliness is always there for you
She talks to God when my back is turned
I can't live with this I guess I'm gonna have to learn
She smiles at me when it's going wrong
It's February now and it won't be long
She's waiting for flowers to grow
In the garden I know is covered with snow
And when she leaves now where does she go
God only knows she's the craziest girl I know
She pops these pills to make her feel good again
I drove a hundred miles just to see you
But your still a hundred miles away
I fought the fire of your wandering eye
I thought it might just keep you here another day
7 weeks since New York City
Feels like 7 weeks far too long
I want to give time back to you
Cause the feeling is so far from gone
You couldn't pacify
The feelings that made you wanna run away
Bar time is 10:30
Our time is temporary
Cause your eye is wandering
Our love has a temporary life
It's still been 49 days since I've seen you
You think you're the one that's been mislead
Still want to give time back to you
But I can never be that man again
I drove a hundred miles just to see you
But your still a hundred miles away
I fought the fire of your wandering eye
Bogus reasons for leaving me hangin' by a thread
Ya turn me down it turns me on,
It really messed with my head
Recurring dreams bout the real popular people in school
I'm biting dust in the presence of my home coming queen
I guess you win this time
It's ridiculous
For you to be sitting there laughing as I crash and I burn
Can you spare a minute for
Can you spare a minute for when I die?
I'm burned out on pickup lines
That I learned in Philosophy classes
Then the starting fullback
Fell on my black rimmed glasses
Seeing that I
Don't have a comeback to use
Think I'd better, better make a fool of you now
She's in charge of me
She's swallowing the life inside
Room 421
In an airport hotel
I know I should be sleeping
But it's too soon to tell
If I'll fly out tomorrow
If I'll see her tomorrow
I hope that I will
There's no place like alone
There's no sound like my own voice fading into
This quiet summer night
But I'm doing alright
I'll make a phone call or two
Could I get some conversation please
Just send someone to see
About a few things I need
Do you think you could
Bring me my girlfriend
And a bottle of wine
Bring me her future
Just make sure it's mine
Will you open the window
But leave out the cold
Could you make a phone call to Jesus
To clean up my soul.
Miles from my own bed
Further from content
I guess I should get used to this
Still rain on the runway
But I'm doing okay
I've got cigarettes to kiss
Could I get some conversation please
I'm down on my knees
I'm only here for tonight
The story of my life
Cause I'm hitting the wall
And I thought I would call you
To ask for an hour
It's 4 in the morning
Couldn't drink myself to sleep
I'm still trying to find the reasons, that are keeping you from me
As I'm staring out the window
And I can't burn you from my mind
Cause I'm hitting the wall
I can't take this anymore, I won't do this anymore
Room 421
A Cleveland hotel
I know I should be sleeping
But it's too soon to tell
If I'll fly out tomorrow
Inching closer to finally realize,
Your will to live, became a will to die...
So quick to questioning everything, it feels so cold
I'm finally in unfamiliar surroundings
Please waste some time...
She looks down on me, she holds my hand
Feel a ribbon of grey laced thru her dark hair
For the first time
I couldn't be for this
Just to see it end
I won't try to pretend that I can make it
Please waste some time
Even though, she never said it, you were too afraid to ask
How will you ever forgive me
I've come undone
I've come undone
Wait awhile try to make it end
I won't mind to pretend
That I can make it
Please waste some time...
It's easy for you
As it's never been for anyone
To tell me what to do
You forced it on me
Sad excuses of the man I am
Now tell me who to be
I don't recall
Which excuses seemed so real
Than she tells me
Bleed on the line (it's in her words)
Bleed if it's easy
You'll feel everything
So wrapped up in me
With the chains that hold you in my head
Hold you down to bleed
I forced it on you
Tell me how it feels to beg for me
I'll tell you what to do
I don't recall
Which excuses seem so real
Than she tells me
Bleed on the line (it's in her words)
Bleed if it's easy you'll feel
Bleed on the line (it's in the words)
Again
Then she begs me to scream
But I never do
Is it good enough for you
Nothing is good enough for you
I've never been so easy
