The Achilleid (Latin: Achilleïs) is an unfinished epic poem by Publius Papinius Statius that was intended to present the life of Achilles from his youth through his death at Troy. Only about one and a half books (1,127 dactylic hexameters) were completed before the poet's death. What remains is an account of the hero's early life with Chiron the centaur, and an episode in which his mother Thetis disguised him as a girl on the island of Scyros before he joined the Greek expedition against Troy.
Based upon three references to the poem in the Silvae, the Achilleid seems to have been composed between 94 and 96 CE. At Silvae 4.7.21–24, Statius complains that he lacks the motivation to make progress upon his "Achilles" without the company of his friend C. Vibius Maximus who was travelling in Dalmatia (and to whom poem is addressed). Statius apparently overcame this self-described writer's block, for in a poem from the posthumously published fifth book of the Silvae he refers to an upcoming recitation of a section from the Achilleid. This reference is believed to date from the summer of 95, and Statius presumably died later that year or early in the next, leaving the Achilleid unfinished.
Bridget Jones is a franchise based on the fictional character with the same name. English writer Helen Fielding started her Bridget Jones's Diary column in The Independent in 1995, chronicling the life of Bridget Jones as a thirtysomething single woman in London as she tries to make sense of life and love with the help of a surrogate "urban family" of friends in the 1990s. The column lampooned the obsession of women with women's magazines such as Cosmopolitan and wider social trends in Britain at the time. Helen Fielding published the novelisation of the column in 1996, followed by a sequel in 1999 called Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Both novels were adapted for the big screen in 2001 and 2004, starring Renée Zellweger as Bridget Jones, and Hugh Grant and Colin Firth as the men in her life, Daniel Cleaver and Mark Darcy. After Fielding had ceased to work for The Daily Telegraph in late 1998, the feature began again in The Independent on 4 August 2005 and finished in June 2006.
Daniel Mendelsohn (born 1960) is an American author and critic.
Mendelsohn was born on Long Island and raised in the town of Old Bethpage, New York. He attended the University of Virginia from 1978 to 1982 as an Echols Scholar, graduating with a B. A. summa cum laude in Classics. From 1982 to 1985, he resided in New York City, working as an assistant to an opera impresario, Joseph A. Scuro. I wanna be a princess,
The fairest all around,
And if you leave my kingdom,
You’re never really gone
You made me feel so special,
So beautiful and true,
I wish that I could thank you,
If you only knew
That I felt your love, I think I understand,
If I skinned my knee, or found a prince to take my hand,
Love will always be around, there isn’t any doubt,
That your love is with me now
It’s funny how fast things can change,
Then you’re forced to pack your things,
And head into the great unknown,
And face this world all alone,
But no one waits for you back home
But I felt your love, I think I understand
If I skinned my knee, or found a prince to take my hand,
Love will always be around, there isn’t any doubt,
That your love is with me now
And I miss you
I’m crying now too,
Help me make it on my own
‘Cause I felt your love, I think I understand
If I skinned my knee, or found a prince to take my hand,
Love will always be around, there isn’t any doubt,
Your love is with me now
Most people are scared to dream,
‘Cause “What if it never happens?”
I take every chance I get,
Who cares if they end up laughing at me
La da da dee
I won’t lose any sleep
That is only fear of the unknown and being alone
Life is always sweeter on the edge, I'm full speed ahead,
Oh no regrets, when you’re unstoppable
Anything is possible
Whenever you are broken,
Whole path's in the shadows,
You gotta break those chains
And reach out for tomorrow and say
La da da dee
What a day will bring?
That is only fear of the unknown and being alone
Life is always sweeter on the edge, I'm full speed ahead,
Oh no regrets,when you’re unstoppable
Anything is possible
Anything is possible
Live each moment like no one can see
La da da dee
Anything is possible if you believe
That is only fear of the unknown and being alone
Life is always sweeter on the edge,I'm full speed ahead,
Oh no regrets,when you’re unstoppable
Anything is possible
La da da dee
La da da dee
It’s been a long hard road, I’ve been traveling for so long,
Seen some struggles and my share of did-me-wrongs,
I got my six string loaded, got my bags all packed,
On a mission, I ain’t ever looking back
No matter what, I’m gunna keep on dreaming,
Almost gave up, but now I’m still believing,
Happy ever after's never too far away
(This is the story)
No more rainy days,
And no more stormy nights,
I’m leaving my fears behind,
Nothing’s gunna stop me now,
This time is my turn to shine,
Been lied on, cheated, talked about, mistreated,
Knocked down, got back up, never been defeated,
This is the time of my life,
My Happily Ever After, My Happily Ever After
There were times when my mom thought I’d given up,
Fairy Tales, wish you well, were never enough,
But I stayed strong, kept moving on through life’s up and downs,
Now I feel like a toast to the tale,
No matter what I’m gunna keep on dreaming,
Almost gave up but now I’m still believing,
Happy ever afters never too far away
(This is the story)
No more rainy days,
And no more stormy nights,
I’m leaving my fears behind,
Nothing’s gunna stop me now,
This time is my turn to shine
Been lied on, cheated, talked about, mistreated,
Knocked down, got back up, never been defeated,

This world can knock you down,
If you get off the ground,
Make it hard on you cause you know that they will,
There are scared that you'll
Become something cool,
Making fun of you for living out your fantasy
You’re a bird that soars, above them all,
Don’t let them clip your wings
You’ve taken all your falls, and all your faith is gone
You tried find a friend, where jealousy can't find an in,
Just think of what you’d miss,if you had given up and quit,
Don’t lose yourself; by damage causing you regret,
You know that time heals wounds,
So stop believing it’s true,
Go live that fairytale inside of you
You barely making it, think all the pieces fit
Your finally on your way, and nothing can go wrong
Then a glimpse of doubt, will bring you crashing down
And all the good within, you're struggling to breathe again
Something deep inside that pulls you up again
Nothing can stop you now
You’ve taken all your falls, and all your faith is gone
You tried find a friend, where jealousy can't find an in,
Just think of what you’d miss,if you had given up and quit,
Don’t lose yourself; by damage causing you regret,
You know that time heals wounds,
So stop believing it’s true,
Go live that fairy tale inside of you
And You’ve taken all your falls, and all your faith is gone
