Karate (空手?) ( /kəˈrɑːtiː/; Japanese pronunciation: [kaɽate] ( listen)) is a martial art developed in the Ryukyu Islands in what is now Okinawa, Japan. It was developed partially from indigenous fighting methods called te (手?, literally "hand"; Tii in Okinawan) and from Chinese kenpō. Karate is a striking art using punching, kicking, knee and elbow strikes, and open-handed techniques such as knife-hands. Grappling, locks, restraints, throws, and vital point strikes are taught in some styles. A karate practitioner is called a karateka (空手家?).
Karate was developed in the Ryukyu Kingdom prior to its 19th-century annexation by Japan. It was brought to the Japanese mainland in the early 20th century during a time of cultural exchanges between the Japanese and the Ryukyuans. In 1922 the Japanese Ministry of Education invited Gichin Funakoshi to Tokyo to give a karate demonstration. In 1924 Keio University established the first university karate club in Japan and by 1932, major Japanese universities had karate clubs. In this era of escalating Japanese militarism, the name was changed from 唐手 ("Chinese hand" or "Tang hand" verbatim, as the name of the Tang dynasty was a synonym to China in Okinawa) to 空手 ("empty hand") – both of which are pronounced karate – to indicate that the Japanese wished to develop the combat form in Japanese style. After the Second World War, Okinawa became an important United States military site and karate became popular among servicemen stationed there.

Howard Allan Stern (born January 12, 1954) is an American radio personality, television host, author, actor and photographer best known for his radio show which was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2005. He gained wide recognition in the 1990s where he was labeled a "shock jock" for his outspoken and sometimes controversial style. Stern has been exclusive to Sirius XM Radio, a subscription-based satellite radio service, since 2006. The son of a former recording and radio engineer, Stern wished to pursue a career in radio at the age of five. While at Boston University he worked at the campus station WTBU before a brief stint at WNTN in Newton, Massachusetts.
He developed his on-air personality when he landed positions at WRNW in Briarcliff Manor, WCCC in Hartford and WWWW in Detroit. In 1981, he was paired with his current newscaster and co-host Robin Quivers at WWDC in Washington, D.C. Stern then moved to WNBC in New York City in 1982 to host afternoons until his firing in 1985. He re-emerged on WXRK that year, and became one of the most popular radio personalities during his 20-year tenure at the station. Stern's show is the most-fined radio program, after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued fines to station licensees for allegedly indecent material that totaled $2.5 million. Stern has won Billboard's Nationally Syndicated Air Personality of the Year award eight times, and is one of the highest-paid figures in radio.
With karate I'll kick your ass
Here to Tiennamen Square.
Oh yeah, muthafucka,
I'm 'onna kick your fuckin' derriere.
You broke the rules,
Now I'll pull out all your pubic hair,
You muthafucka.
You muthafucka.
Kyle betrayed me
And then he lied tried to hide
And I died deep inside
And you know the reason why.
I'm 'onna kick your ass
From here to right over there.
Oh yeah muthafucka,
I'm 'onna kick your fuckin' derriere.
You broke the rules,
Now I'll pull out all your pubic hair,
You muthafucka.
For 2 hours
before I sleep.
I make my problems
come to me.
For 5 minutes
before I wake.
I understand,
I understand,
I understand.
What is heavy,
when you're weak.
When you're awake for days,
what is sleep.
For 5 minutes
before I wake,
I understand,
I understand,
I understand.
You all just stand by.
You all just stand by.
You all just stand by.
You all just stand by.
You all just stand by.
Gloves hold you in,
accessorize
Corners of sin
and potential crimes
The colds scolds your chin,
draws some salt from an eye
But even the wind
can't get much of a rise
How long will it take you
to want to go home?
How long will it take you
to learn there is none?
You were a sister,
a daughter,
just what was your role
In that family now scored
with stitches and holes?
with stitches and holes?
with stitches and holes?
You got somewhere to be,
so you can't get lost
And you're filled with a substance
that melts any frost
I want to take you to dinner,
but you'de rather hang out at rest stops
Engaging in discourse
better stratched into desk tops
Your phone rings
It's just me
How long will it take you
to trust me?
to trust me?
I'm coming down to get
you even know you don't answer
Because the snow was OK,
but the rain is coming faster
but the rain is coming faster
but the rain is coming faster
Water
sinks in
Faster,
then thickens
My pockets, my pockets are drinking
Your fingers, my fingers are sinking
Water
sinks in
Faster,
then thickens
My pockets, my pockets are drinking
Your fingers, my fingers are sinking
Water
sinks in
Faster,
then thickens
My pockets, my pockets are drinking
Your fingers, my fingers are sinking
I make some enemies. I try
to find shit that will keep me up nights,
because i know that if i'm going to do what i'm going to
do it's a red-eye drive to the morning light.
I swear one day that it won't have to be this way because
when you're
tired,
at least there's
sunshine
sunshine
I don't hurt when people die;
that is, unless they worked nights,
because i know that i'm going to feel like i'm going to
feel, no matter how many books i read.
I swear one day that it won't have to be this way because
when you're
tired,
at least there's sunshine.
Red lights on amplifiers
trigger secret problems in me. I say,
'Smoke out the window,
until you heat the outside, outside'.
You've got no insurance,
because insurance is a sin,
and a Monday is still a Monday
Cause I said so,
cause I said so,
cause I said so,
cause I said so.
Why,
why,
why.
Boy you've got the right insurance.
What is it?
What is it?
Don't you wanna wanna wanna know?
Cause I said so,
cause I said so.
What kind of deal have you got going?
Now that you're standing around all morning
Don't you have some better place to go?
Where you've got to go?
Where have you got to go?
Cause I said so,
cause I said so,
cause I said so,
cause I said so.
Why,
why,
why.
Excellent year in magazines,
in clothing stores and cash machines.
Seized by the wonderful sounds on the radio,
on the radio,
on the radio.
Don't you know that your school hates you,
and don't you know that your job does too?
And don't you have some better place to go?
Where you've got to go?
Where have you got to go?
Cause I said so,
cause I said so,
cause I said so,
cause I said so
Why,
Why,
Why.
Why,
Why,
Why,
Why,
Why,
Why,
I'm at a stand still
It's 98 degrees
Can't put one thing
into my car
Nothing's gonna stop the steam
I got my hands up
No other price to compare
Held up by the tow truck
that drops me at the bus stop
With just enough left to pay the fare
He said "They com from down south
Just trying to take my job
Coming in from all sides,
looking for a free ride You know
we're all getting robbed"
Up on the dashboard
There was a cross an a flag
Now I don't want nothing
from anyone's God But from my country I want better
than that
Because I hear that each and every day
from channels 3 to 39
I already heard your opinion,
When are you gonna hear
mine?
Finally, I said "Look,
This is more than I need to know
Please keep your opinions
to yourself All I need
is a ride and a tow"
He said "Boy, you're in my truck
You better watch what you say"
I said, "Yeah, do my ideas
make your mad? Well now you know
how I´m feeling
every day"
Because I hear that each and every day
from channels 3 to 39
I already heard your opinion,
When are you gonna hear
It's all a part of winter, she said.
That's just the way it is.
Sometimes you stay inside.
Here comes my ride,
she said.
Here comes my ride.
On the table, or on the floor,
where she turned to leave an ash,
I saw some pennies by the door.
It made me think to get some cash.
Today or tomorrow,
I leave her alone.
I leave her alone.
Here comes my ride,
she said.
Imagine yourself young,
with pockets full of water.
You haven't learned to hesitate yet.
And the sun beats down
all on your skinny neck,
as we kick around the shore.
You know the rest.
Imagine yourself dumb,
like someone's careless daughter.
You can't remeber just what he said,
but it still bears down
all in your pretty head.
You'll never know for sure,
Words are the worst way to say what I have to say, but
sometimes you can't play how you want to play to show it
well. And this is one splinter of a sentence, both a pain
and a pleasure to try to expel. But I have to tell about
the years of influence and artless advice that can still
only escape in a struggling, stilted excuse for a smile.
And when you're parked over on the wrong side of nowhere
no amount off nothing is going to make it worthwhile. A
touch, subdived, rinsed, and sold, before the hands have
a chance to get cold, as an eyelash pries an hour from
the schedules of the uninvolved. And your sills so-called
insulation can only sigh at December Sundays, unsolved.
So like the transportation of the suns, you must hold
steady to the ones who light your mornings, nights, and
aftermoons. And if you should grow angry with the pace of
chance, don't be afraid to make some plans for December
Sundays soon. Today you missed her getting up once again.
Well boy, you've got to listen to me-promise her you'll
So quiet
i can hear that the refrigerator is on.
I can hear the fabric from
your sleeping bag
how it sounds
someone else's floor.
There was a small riot
that kept me up until dawn.
It seems someone had
something to say
to the rest of the party
out on the lawn.
Who called?
What the hell did they say?
Get off the telephone right now.
Don't throw another minute away.
Please not today, not today.
There's a man around,
his face always fire-truck red.
I've heard there were angels in his head,
but now he holds a baseball bat instead.
And there that famous sounds
that the snow makes under my feed
when a snowball to cold for a snowball falls,
and saves me from
my impending week.
Who called
and what the hell did they say?
Get off my doorstep right now.
Don't you dare get in my way.
No, not today. Not today.
Who called,
and what the hell did they say?
Get off the telephone right now.
Don't throw another minute away
because there are ghosts.
And they don't even wait to call.
They will crawl up in your skin,
and they will come out from the walls
There's a literal way
that you can take everything i say.
We could end this right now
if you want it that way,
but you don't want it that way.
East coast stories out of books
breed ugly, hateful looks in the streets
of New York and LA,
where there's got to be some kind of institution.
But all i see are problems without the solutions.
And God don't make things
that you can rearrange.
But that's ok,
because i can't take the change.
I'll be happy
when my friends don't go.
When we're in this town
for good i'll know.
I'll see you somewhere,
like Saturdays
on museum stairs
and in friends' cars
and outside of Irish bars
and underneath the same stars
that lit our situations,
our impulses and our hesitations,
and that will shine on me
when this all works out like your planned
and i can tell you that i understand
because
God don't make things
that you can rearrange,
but that's ok
because i can't take the change
and i'll be happy
when my friends don't go.
When we're in this town
They estimate the falling sun and the Orphists
plight stimulated no one.
So call me on no sleep with just a little something
to remind us what to do:
If you run, run like hell, and remember there's history;
And if they don't believe you, just send them back to me.
Because they can't deny.
They just have to see that
the roots and the ruins are the same thing.
I often hear the new poetry from your
scratchy throat at quarter-after-three.
That's when I know I owe this to you,
as autumn owes the trees,
with their roots still strong,
from the ruins of some stray seed.
Look out for guns.
Look out for girls,
and other stories that could tear apart our world.
Time
as if I had some
I could call mine.
Time
is only information,
a sort of sill
from which I see you all the
time.
Say,
say someting stupid,
like 'it's ok'.
What you say
in place of real insight,
a sort of sill from which I see you every
from hotels in the middle of the night
i'm calling you out
to candles cling tentative flames
but they burn just the same
just in case you forget
sick in the silt of the strangest taste
i've hated today
still something sings within the vein
i forget to fail
i forget to complain
how much more can we stand to stay
before clouds complain
soaked to that critical stage
with the overdressed words
of the well-meaning vague
how much will the Leitmotiv sway
to compensate for our fallow-yet-vigorous play
on this century's take
on the lived-but-yet-named
hold out, hold out
because this moon is twice as good
when you see through a year of nights
what you thought you understood
set out, set out
because this haze is bound to wane
it can no longer pretend to hide
Wet, cold, late.
Let me leave the key because i cannot wait.
I know i'll find some some quiet
somewhere near.
Well, God does not play dice,
so i will not need your advice.
After all i got us this far.
I got us here.
Kids com across
as solemn and lost,
i know
old men evoke last wars and
holocausts.
German kids,
Croatian kids just like American kids,
we know.
We only give the sweetest looks,
and we only steal from the greatest books.
Just use one sentence
and insert your name.
We should not be ashamed.
The bed is in the ocean while guns are on the trains.
Just pick a destination
and you can sign your name.
Kids come across
as solemn and lost,
i know
old men evoke last wars and
holocausts.
German kids, Croation kids just like American kids,
So much simple summer strives to convince us of its
pride, to unite all the locals and the details of a ride.
Through a pastiche of painless principles and repeated
distant-heart designs, your resilience is your special
way to share with me your time.
The spareness of monotony and ease will, over time, give
us a new energy, like Miles, but satisfied.
So lose that heady pandering to the over-educated
sublime, because your patience is a simple way to share
with me your time.
Part of this familiar is the halo of the strange.
Part of all the fuck-ups is the will to make a change.
Part of this whole routine is your shoulders gentle play
that coaxes this old body into the current of every day.
It's me again, talking about some other kind of love.
It's me again, reaching down to touch you from above.
Won't you just tell me when I can take me place back in
your mind.
Choked today on blank Tudor boldness as broken neighbours
sucked through the seams of the shit they build with
ostentatious walls.
Smoked today, fifth time since 1988, with kids I knew
through springs, then again in falls, but they're not
kids at all.
And then it came-our world in my chest-set up by your
silent residue in my room, then in my car.
But for today, too late. Some business I guessed.
No cancellation, as if I knew how busy you are.
To know a love like subtle brios, eclipsed crescendos,
some swallowed whole.
Like things I have to look at: red hair and Rothkos, as
if the angels just have to show.
In fairness to you I must revise this romance to rust,
trade in this stash for cash, trade in these goods for
ash.
In fairness to you I will stare the paint right off this
sill, beat down the floor with my feet 'till you and I
How many times have I heard,
"In the South they just don't work."
Lazy angels spill time
and use lives
as I would mine.
Pouring out of windows,
like strange flags,
come clean clothes.
Spit-free sediment
sweep dives
from broom-kept porch
in no time.
no time.
Now the sun strips that same sidewalk,
with the day-dried test
of small talk.
She walks quick, fresh,
with clean, black crease,
and navigates this mess
with protected ease.
Does she leave?
Does she leave.
Does she come home?
Where does she sleep?
But somehow the gate's not right.
A face stripped of something
since last night.
Can you carry that smile
to the store
or a job?
And what's such a rush
that would let you be robbed?
Do you leave?
Do you leave.
Within the influence of innocence, you were dressed to
kill.
Pulling styles from the atmosphere, you could have
dressed us all.
As we surrendered to the worn jets, "impossible to
crash, impossible to fail", like the dim lights on the
dash, as we were pulling out of anywhere on any other
road.
Now I can tell by the way the rain hits the glass that
it wants to be cold. It wants to be snow.
Is it falling there, obscuring small fires that deign
another shining front-page spread, where old worn men
conspire?
So much for Saturdays and other days when lives are at
stake.
God forgive us for the hatred, for the risks that we
take. Boys forget promises from both coasts.
What would it take to get out now?
Is this what they call the end? Are we sleeping on a
dark star?
Is this some saint we all forgot?
Is she burning in a parked car?
Violence is so slow, and the patience will do us in.
So mothers, stop looking for your sons in the wood,
because you will find them on CNN.
That's when you will try, but you can't evict the sun.
It lights on one hour, every morning, every day, when
Your eyes, they made lies true.
Say anything and I would believe you.
But there were demons, maybe more than a few, so what
could we do?
Because in my life there was only asbestos, and Raymond
Williams, you always took the best ones.
Now, like failed pedestrian dreams, that's how it seems
to me.
Once again, back out on the highway.
Watch the traffic-you know it's a Friday.
And all the seats-belts in all the vans won't change your
plans.
You can get by on a few sins,
and you can try to make a horse win once,
but you can't put back together what you sever.
The rain comes down and turns your shine back to rust.
Does that mean that you have to sever us?
Someday some shit will come around
and reverse the earth,
turn your flesh back to dust.
Stay out with me tonight.
There's some blankets in the back.
Caught on Autumn's edge out near the woods once again,
but this time no one
expects us back.
I know it's cold but it's that kind of cold
that doesn't feel bad
when it's late.
So let me be bold or I'm gonna be bold
I've thought of you on and off
since 1988.
About your recent investment plan,
it smells like $50 stuffed into a Ziplock bag.
I thought you guys were all totally clean,
but I guess we all need something
to relax.
I know you have some place to be
prepared some information for someone
in some hours
but if we can't get it together this fall,
at least let this semi-perfect
scene be ours. So
remain
relaxed and remember
that there were once more temperate
Novembers.
Novembers.
that there were once more temperate
Novembers.
remain
relaxed and remember
that there were once more temperate
Novembers.
Down the street
I'll park the car
You go ahead
Meet me inside
There's no reason for us to both go through with it
On the way
I'll call about this guitar
Don't want to sell,
but I'm in the red
Plus I just don't know what to do with it
Had I been more awake this morning
I would have seen the coming warnings:
The calendar,
the pens,
Sunday on the phone again
Today we'd stand alone with pines
Instaed of with produce,
in endless lines
How does preparation for the week
require the entire weekend?
Shop for gloves among evergreens
Long woolen skins in unsubtle themes
And entire season on a credit card
Observing loves, rare freindships seen
manifest their greatest deeds
With facing feet from numbered dressing stalls
Had I been more awake this morning
I could have seen the coming warnings:
The calendar,
the pens,
Sunday on the phone again
Today we'd stand alone with pines
Instaed of with produce,
in endless lines
How does preparation for the week
require the entire weekend?
The next time you say to me
"This week's just a day too long"
Well your days are getting shorter,
and as a gentle reminder
Under boots tan needles break
Every Sunday I pray you'll see
That you're doing this thing all wrong
Because down on the corner,
among the pines
Hopelessly small and still,
they defy the rake
The next time you say to me
"This week's just a day too long"
Well your days are getting shorter,
and as a gentle reminder
Under boots tan needles break
Every Sunday I pray you'll see
That you're doing this thing all wrong
Because down on the corner,
among the pines
Hopelessly small and still,
I don't want the promise.
I want the guarantee
of loose leaves
from trees.
Outside is the drama
that takes place outside
from you,
and me too.
Passwords save you,
from me, and just
secure our lives with
secret Santas.
Hopes dissolve
under florescent lights,
and they steal us away
from our rightful
good nights.
Yeah, i want to see you.
Yeah, i want to
believe
that you're downtown,
that you're around.
I know you're sincere because i've got it on my
machine.
I turn it up loud,
like you're here now.
Passwords save you, from me,
and just
secure our lives with
secret Santas,
as hopes dissolve
under florescent lights.
Yeah, i know there are hopes.
I can see them
A stand,
a wall,
a fiat
in us all,
something that will take away
this nonsense soon, one of these days.
The demand,
the call,
it will come soon I can
hear us all
talking one day about the ones that we love, instead of
hanging around waiting for signs from above.
Hey, hey. I too want change.
I'm not talking about faith;
I will pay
for evidence
of the numbness and pain
of anyone with guns,
the money or the planes.
I hear you saying I am just one kid,
that we can't do what one thousand once did,
but let me leave you with this simple idea,
and maybe some of you might run with it for real.
On that day will we be original spies?
Through dusty Lucite will the sun still rise?
Will strange new days,
striated with strain contain your relocated slang and
those incredible
eyes?
Truant
treasures come from
zealots sounding,
Jensens pounding.
By way of last year's sonic stencils,
we are working it out,
if only with pencils. But
underneath the same skies as
those ones pushing the same lies. So
grab a pen, turn of the CNN,
and stratch me out some plans to get together again.
In that way will we be original spies?
With trusty foresight will the sun still rise?
Will strained new days, saturated with strange contain
your relocated slang and those incredible
eyes?
Hey, hey. I too want change.
I'm not talking about faith;
I will pay
for evidence
of the numbness and pain
of anyone with guns,
the money or the planes.
I hear you saying I am just one kid,
that we can't do what one thousand once did,
but let me leave you with this simple idea,
and maybe one of you might run with it for real.
On that day will we be original spies?
Through dusty Lucite will the sun still rise?
Will strange new days,
striated with strain contain your relocated slang and
Confidence-it drops like filth in bathroom stalls.
Privacy-it leaks through un-completed walls.
Forced by public failures, now you must recall.
You have to recall the times when we became hemmed in by
leaden skies, the times when all the back rent closed our
zealous eyes.
Maybe this is how all young ideas die, but they didn't
have to die. Evidence yields this case a wash.
Just give me something that I can touch.
Sulphur, Kool-Aid, Minnesota, freezer burns.
Blessed dial lovers' friends at every turn.
Needing need, not what you need, you can't unlearn.
So many years,
so many fears.
That much time spent
standing in line
for a window view
that I think
I can use,
but don't cut in line
when you're way on time.
Now i've figured out your deal,
and my hand's on the wheel.
Why did we wait
wait until the last call?
Strangely alone,
strangely silent that's all,
like a window view
that I think
you could use.
The merging of lines
means it might be fine.
Now I've figured out your deal,
and my hand's on the wheel.
Now I've figured out your deal,
If we are Nature's detour to get to five great names, you
are number six, just neglected by these days.
With all the confusion around hate, schedules, and
possibilities, under solar-system simulations, your
hesitations elegy.
These are the last days we'll spend in this room, another
temporary shell to help me protect you.
On any ordinary night, a sip would last a song, but
tonight you're up, on your way out the door; in half as
In the summer it's all bad,
but in the winter it's ok.
I gave up
where the water pulls the walls and the cold and the
sun are one. You know,
i wasn't afraid.
There is hard
rain where i'm walking,
and it's ok.
This not
the USA.
There is no
shame
when we're talking,
and it's ok.
I can't understand anything you say.
Hell, i can't even pronounce your name.
But your words beg questions of me just the same.
Will there be a cross
on the side of the road
where we die?
Will there be a cloud in the Gronegen sky? Will a smile
decay over time?
There's a hard
rain where i'm walking,
and it's ok.
This not
the USA.
There is no
shame when we're talking,
and it's ok.
There's a hard
rain where i'm walking,
and it's ok.
This not
the USA.
There is no
shame when we're talking,
and it's ok.
There is water
as the ships come in on
the TV
and the phone
is used for murder,
and not to call the police
on the TV
in my home,
where i can see my breath,
in winter time,
in the kitchen,
She likes my amplifier loud.
What goes in must come out.
Turn it up. Turn it up. You can hear it downtown
on the bus, on the radio.
So relaxed she's in slow motion.
So at home. No transportation.
Say 'hello'. How does she do?
How does she do?
She likes my amplifier loud.
What goes in must be ground.
Turn it up. Turn it up. You can it hear it downtown
on the bus, on the bus, on the radio.
Been alone cross the nation.
All this time we got one station.
I don't know. What did we do?
I used to know this boredom
potential asleep.
I can't feel the rain
until it cuts across my cheek.
But I must get paid.
I've got to get that check.
Got the sign my name before I lose it.
Let me write this down before i...
I can't remember,
I can't remember,
but I can't forget.
I stole this from some writer.
I'd have to go and check
a book I never read,
but the words had that effect.
Yeah, i must get paid.
I've got to get that check.
Got the sign my name before I lose it.
Let me write this down before i...
I can't remember,
I can't remember,
i can't remember,
It's 98,
it's 99.
I've got some.
I've got mine.
It's 98,
it's 99.
I've got some.
I've got mine.
It's 98,
it's 99.
I've got some.
I've got mine.
It's 98,
it's 99.
I've got some.
I've got mine.
I'll still love you in 1999.
I'll still love you in 1999.
I'll still love you in 1999.
I'll still love you in 1999.
Hold it.
Now we're downtown at the show
and we've got no place to go.
Won't you read to me
when we get home?
Hold it.
Now you're at my bedside.
Think back: Alcohol and thalidomide and the shakes.
What do you want me to say?
Everybody's telling me that
Everybody's telling me that
Everybody's telling me that I've got to change.
change...
Hold it.
How the hell did I get so thin?
How did I get this shape i'm in
when i eat and fight and i still feel small.
Stop because i can't say
what's good for us all the time anyway.
And when you work in the dark all day there's no time,
but with this pill it goes away.
Everybody's telling me that
Everybody's telling me that
Everybody's telling me that I've got to change.
Part nonsense,
part lung test,
sickness loved
in these hands.
Sought numbers
for answers.
In hundreds
I said prayers.
Missed some trains.
Lost some friends.
Some forgave
in the end.
I don't want to tell you you're the reason why,
but you're just a couple minutes shy of
changing things for good.
Maybe I'll put aside this poison
like I always knew I should.
knew I should.
Horizon
gently pretends
to be the end,
to be an end.
But what you can't see-and I don't want to give it away
that things look good
for the rest of the day.
Now I trust a shiver
to bring this body's bad news.
Voices might consider
that it's my time, or let me choose.
Now I don't worry too much
about what I really have to loose,
because I'd surely give it all up
if I could get some time..
This beer is wine
when you've got to have a good time.
If you drink it all with me,
we'll remember everything.
Hold on tight
we'll go for a ride tonight,
head out to Walden Pond.
Down and down and down and down the logs.
Have a party on the shore,
and you can swim across.
If you can hold your breath,
you can touch the sand with your hand.
This beer is wine
when you've got to have a good time.
If you drink it all with me,
we won't know the difference
They used to throw some fists but now they fuck you up
with teflon.
Still serious? If so I hope you got some boots on
because it's raining.
Complaining's not gonna change things now.
not gonna change things now.
Let's get one thing straight: no one did nothing for
your freedom.
Can't walk too late. Can't even show me that you got
some,
but you pay your cab fare.
You'll get there, so don't you play dumb now.
don't you play dumb now.
Salt stains saturate feet for the reason
you are walking where you're
walking to.
Frayed stitch ain't gonna last one more season
and neither will you with that
attitude.
Driving North all morning,
how's it staring down that same road?
Grab those gloves and jacket,
gonna freeze behind that window.
Hey, what's that sound?
Ice or ground?
I think you better slow down.
I think you better slow down.
And what are you gonna tell
them
that you already said ten times?
That I'd piss out back for life
if you could get your facts right?
Not much of a sacrifice, but
if we all could make one now.
if we all could make one now
Salt stains saturate feet for the reason
you are walking where you are
walking to.
Frayed stitch ain't gonna last one more season
and neither will you with that
attitude.
Salt stains saturate feet for the reason
you are walking where you are
walking to.
Frayed stitch ain't gonna last one more season
and neither will you with that
attitude.
We stroll through American dreams stuck together,
but don't you tell me this is
something new.
This is not something new.
Now you're coming all apart at the seams.
That's some cheap leather. Now what are
going to do?
what are going to do?
sugar,
sugar,
sugar,
Sugar
Just to watch you
sleep.
Just to hear you
speak.
Just to hear you.
Stay.
Everything
you say.
You know it gives you,
just gives you away.
Stay,
Sugar
gasoline.
When you're nineteen,
when you're nineteen.
Sugar,
if I keep it near,
will it keep you here,
will it keep you here.
Stay,
your leaving just gives you away.
I knew a love
that could scare all the wings off the doves,
outside my window as they'd stretch out their lungs.
From rooftop to rooftop it would come
with new weather as the blank dormers stared
at each other, or into thick Autumn air.
Was that Allston in late 89,
or some other place,
some other time?
Anyway,
it doesn't change what I'm trying to say.
It's just that something seems to be missing these
days:
Come's still around but the band doesn't play.
Gone is gone from Diskovery piles.
Chinatown seems like 3 more miles,
and I can hardly discern between styles
or kids' twisted looks,
and genuine smiles.
When I'm alone,
I want to feel like one kid getting stoned,
only to keep things a little more clear,
just to be able to hold on to a simple idea.
And when I'm with you,
I want to notice everything as we do,
to catch every bit bit of blur, squint, chill, and red,
from sand dunes,
San Soliel,
and sunsets.
You know that all was both heaven and Hell for me.
Smashed more than one glass gesture of jealousy.
Remember, three to two rooms, girlfriends made it more,
and you always left my singles on the bedroom floor.
bedroom floor.
Now I've got some friends.
They've been hanging around since God knows when.
They still like to tell me each and every time
I mouth off
or get out of line.
But these days I know to watch what I say,
although I still do things my my my my own way.
I still spin the same sounds for these unsatisfied
ears,
because there's always something new
something new to hear.
You know that all was both Heaven and Hell for me.
Smashed more than one glass gesture of jealousy.
Remember, three to two rooms, girlfriends made it more,
and you always left my singles on the bedroom floor.
I should not have left that shit go for so cheap.
I wish I still had that first release.
I was just trying to pay my rent, to keep on my feet.
I guess there are some things I should keep from back
then,
and some things I could leave.
and some things I could leave.
When I'm alone,
I want to feel like one kid getting stoned,
only to keep things a little more clear,
just to be able to hold on to a simple idea.
And when I'm with you,
I want to notice everything as we do,

Smashed more than one glass gesture of jealousy.

I wish I still had that first release.
I was just trying to pay my rent, to keep on my feet.

and some things I could leave.
and some things I could leave.
and some things I could leave.
If fear comes from children
and muffled conversations
behind doors.
Politics are from lawyers,
and the cops are in it too, i'm sure.
When things get strange,
we just rearrange.
We turn it inside out.
I'm not going in today
because something strange is happening.
I'm not really mad,
not really sad,
i can't explain, just bad.
When things get strange,
we just rearrange.
Maybe,
things are harder when you try,
and I can brag if I want to.
And you'd believe it if you want to.
Maybe,
if you repeat the situation,
you could see my hesitation.
And I wouldn't feel so bad.
But I can't figure you out.
It's not the same for you I know.
So let me bang my head against
the wall if I want to.
Maybe,
I could see just how I missed her,
and she could speak for every sister.
And I wouldn't feel so bad.
Maybe,
she could be my generation,
and she would feel my isolation.
And I wouldn't feel so bad.
But I can't figure you out,
it's not the same for you I know.
So let me bang my head against
All the girls
and all my friends
and all the kids I know
they pray out loud every day
and still have nothing to say.
They still have nothing to say to me.
Why?
When they try?
I know they try.
Sometimes when I'm outside,
and sometimes when I'm alone.
Neighbours and cops in my head,
they drag me out of my bed,
with all the things that they said. I know
why:
because they try.
Just ignore the red phone bill.
Just put it up on the sill
and close your eyes.
It'll be there in the morning.
Just get some sleep
before the sun.
Lay down your head because you're the lucky one.
You're in.
You're out.
This is a fucking warning.
Let go off possibilities.
Just lay your wallet next to me.
You never wanted it to be that way but
your parents want it to be that way.
Just stay right where you are.
Just stay right where you are.
One more month
of broken glass,
and one more sitting on your ass.
You're in.
You're out.
This is a fucking warning
because all plots tend toward death yuo've read,
but don't you get that through your head.
You just remember what your landlord said because
Diazapam, it willl leave you dead.
Just stay right where you are.
Careful when you crank that last one down
the yellow chips with ease, with age
kind of old but they're the best ones
not gonna tip as they slip through the waves
Hey Hey almost forgot to say,
guess who I ran into yesterday?
It's been two years since
I've seen her down this way
We talked till the sun came
Then we walked, just ignored the rain
Hanging out was almost the same
Only without all the doubt,
without all the pain
Made me think when you think things are done
- Now I know you can really love only one –
But you you can't give up on the first ones
Because the honesty comes with age
I knew that would be the last song
Coming out of that machine
The bar back had somewhere else to be
If you know what I mean – if you know what I mean
But hey hey, I wanted to stay
So I put another dollar in and pressed "play"
Just one of rare nights
When you don't want to see the bare light
of the next day
That won't be the last nod
That came last night from her face
They tried to cut us off, they even turned out the
lights
But they couldn't turn off the grace
With which she listened to every word
Clear among the din of glass and laughter, unheard
attention and respect
That I could hardly return
Reticent she returns to the streets
Where she once floated above
in hospital sheets
Hands on the walls
where small handprints still weigh
With the burden of crimson
indelible paints
Where are the hands
that once fit these young prints?
What have they grabbed at
ever since?
Nights used to be dangerous here
But now the mornings have exceeded
her deepest fears
Because that's when
the concrete creeps in
And perpetrates
with more than
the greatest sins
And weighs down
on what used to be known
as the neighborhood
Deliberate,
slow,
destructive defeat
As new corners
consolidate
the neiborhood streets
Where are the ones
she stepped with right here
Below the bar, now a bank clad
with anonymous steel?
Where are the sounds
of the childrens once heard?
Replaced with new parking
and yellowed-out curbs
Now she can only
afford to return
For a doctor,
an in-law,
or a day in the sun
Some still cling,
if the building still stands
Some sing liberation
from felonious hands
But most will get lost
in the peripheral sprawl
Where new handprints
signify on old concrete walls
Florescent excuses
for liht
Steal all the shadows
from the nights
from the nights
Parody
or progress?
You just want to tear it down
As you're standing
right in the middle
of the wrong side of town
Florescent excuses
for liht
Steal all the shadows
from the nights
from the nights
Parody
or progress?
You just want to tear it down
As you're standing
right in the middle
of the wrong side of town
Brave,
brave is a meaningless word
in the twentieth century.
Saved,
saved for the times that you've heard
when it means stupidity.
Like right now
if you could disappear,
I know that you would.
If you could start this year again,
if you could,
if you could.
Is this me
or caffeine,
caffeine,
caffeine,
caffeine.
And I can tell by your weight to the world,
that you need to have it all.
And I can tell by the weight of your word
that you're co-political
and I would beat you up if I could
make me feel like a boy again.
You make violence
feel so good,
like it should.
Like it should.
Is this me or
caffeine,
caffeine,
caffeine,
caffeine.
Excuses are ok,
however senseless they might be.
Senseless is to say,
that they don't make sense to me.
Excuses are ok,
however senseless they might be.
Don't say a word
Not because I know what you mean
Not because I've heard you say this before
But in this semblance of Democracy
It's like a vacuum for what you overheard
Don't say a word
Don't call me back
Not because I didn't call
Because I'm busy watching TV on my day off
And you might startle me with rational words
Contradicting all the news I just heard
So don't call me back
Now a word is tense and bare
Like a trigger just a hair away from being pulled
You know I can't pretend to know how this is going to
end But don't you feel like you're being fooled?
But you don't say a word
Are you at work?
I called this morning but I guess I was late
Now we're both waiting for the day that the dreams wane
With possibilities permanently sealed
Atrophied after their purpose revealed:
To keep you at work
Have you gone out?
I called but the place was too loud
Cacophony, I couln't make out
If you wanted me over tonight
Another private tease as sense comes by daylight?
Or we could go out
Nouns pass for narration and camp sights for nations
But you're just driving out of range
You struggle with phone, but it doesn't matter, I'm not
home
Besides, I've got nothing to say
Sometimes style just blurs the line,
between what's real.
And what's divine.
This is how I think of you,
suspended in between the two.
Girl you've got me all wrong
it's not about the money.
Girl you've got me all wrong
it's not about our bodies.
Girl you've got me all wrong
it's not about the money.
Girl you've go me all wrong.
Sometimes everything you know
seems so clear so loud like a radio show.
I'm always listening,
I'm always caught up in it.
Girl you've got me all wrong
it's not about the money.
Girl you've got me all wrong
it's not about our bodies.
Girl you've got me all wrong
it's not about the money.
Girl you've go me all wrong
Hey,
hey money.
money,
money,
money,
We still make
money,
money,
money.
We still make.
money,
money,
money,
I'm here in a room and
i have things arranged.
I have them likened to code, so
they can often be changed.
An image, a sound,
they are
one in the same,
just one likes to move and
one stays the same.
one stays the same.
An image a sound they are
one in the same.
Just one likes to move, and
one stays the same.
An image a sound they are
one in the same.
Just one likes to move,
Just one likes to move,
Bad tattoo on every boy you see.
This ones for you,
and it's a message from me.
It's an image not a metaphor,
because I miss you unlike anything. Anything before.
Culturealist with every word you speak.
Center this unless you center on me.
It works for you, is like a metaphor
Make yourself ready and it will come,
like baby teeth or police
at the sound of the drums.
To me that sound is like spreading hope,
and we are seeking relief
till we get home.
Lost pa-tience,
va-ca-tions.
Still it comes like a storm,
or sometimes slow like the teeth of a newborn.
Don't make it to heady or overdone.
The Tarot change and the nonsense,
those are the ones
to send to lovers and friends on the run,
and don't forget your letters to me,
because I need some.
Lost pa-tience,
va-ca-tions.
Still it comes like a storm,
or sometimes slow like the teeth of a newborn.
I see your face from where I sit.
Put a pair of lips on a heart,
I think I've got it.
Soon 2, 3, 4 on this kit I subsist,
together with knowing I am missed.
We are missed.
Lost pa-tience,
va-ca-tions.
Still it comes like a storm,
or sometimes slow like the teeth of a newborn.
Now I will tell you what
don't want to shake things up,
but we're good to go one day,
next day, you knows, we're fucked.
But that's no reason
to be tame.
Love takes new shapes
like flames.
And still it comes,
warm,
May as well be on
the stretcher
Black & bruises too
You may as well
be injured
Boundless blister blue
But you're only in your bed
And ther's nothing in your head
That wasn't put there
by receivers
In the past hour of two
In the past hour of two
In the past hour of two
The movie doesn't count
Because you can't see
in the cinema
Through the predertermined
random acts
Of life in the dark
And don't try to talk it out
Because your allingual psuede-systems of
"If's"& "Likes" and "whys"
is what made this fall apart
Hang up,
come around,
wet stems will support you
when you can't talk it out
So shut up,
feel the rain
Some times you act like
it will burn you
in place of real pains
in place of real pains
in place of real pains
Hang up,
come around,
wet stems will support you
when you can't talk it out
So shut up,
feel the rain
Some times you act like
it will burn you
in place of real pains
in place of real pains
Today the grass is like another green,
straight from heaven's garden, like you've never seen.
At first glance it's like this place is on fire,
but it's just time for this dew to expire.
Most of the days I'm down near the sea.
People say they're not seeing me,
I miss them as much as they miss me.
I miss them just like they miss me.
Now yesterday I think he might have called
to say "Hey," or just to get us all
to get together on a Saturday,
to take some time come down your way.
But he's over on the North Side.
He can walk. He doesn't need a ride.
I wouldn't pick him up anyway.
It's not not my town. I don't know the way.
I see him out my window,
on a very
different street
where leaves fall up in the Spring time,
and the sun sets in the East.
I'm always late whem I'm visiting.
I can't remember where the station is.
What time will you be coming in?
What time will you be coming in?
I wish my town had an airport.
In 15 minutes we'de be at my door.
We'd used the time for a walk and some wine,
but these days I'm trying not to think about..
time.
I see him out my window,
on a very
different street
where leaves fall up in the Spring time,
and the sun sets in the east.
We hang out in the garden,
away from
phone calls,
strip malls-now I don't want to leave you behind.
It's just that grayed-out horizon.
Hey,
The fire is already ut
when the raine comes.
The nucleus of stress
chooses dust
in the end.
Like aerosol evils
in a rush towards the sun,
it's an oasis inside out,
and fire is the trend.
an oasis inside out,
and fire...
fire is the trend.
Do you see what's on on your plate,
as you sterilize the tine?
Have lessons on earth
left you the will
of a boy?
Are you just getting by,
or do you taste the wine?
What's left for us this spring
besides grass-stained
corduroy?
What's left for us this spring
besides stratched-out
corduroy?
Like it or not,
the locusts come
from spring.
All your plans are shot,
and that stock's not worth
a thing.
Like it or not,
the neighbors
yell when we sing
together.
Like it or not,
the locusts come
from spring.
All your plans are shot,
and that stock's not worth
a thing.
Like it or not,
the neighbors
yell when we sing
I like pissing you..
pissing you off.
To get some kind of rise,
I don't mind to suffer the sting
of the cold from your eye.
But suddenly
Suddenly I see that I can see
when you're blind
to the weather,
the spring,
and the simplest things
that bring us
together.
With karate I'll kick your ass
From here to Tianenmen Square
Oh yeah, motherfucker, I'm gonna kick your fuckin' derriere, yeah, yeah
You broke the rules, now I'll pull out all your pubic hair...
You motherfucker...
You motherfucker...
Kyle betrayed me and then he lied, tried to hide
And I died deep inside, and you know the reason why...
I'm gonna kick your ass
From here to right over there
Oh, yeah, motherfucker, I'm gonna kick your fuckin' derriere, yeah, yeah
You broke the rules, now I'll pull out all your pubic hair...
You motherfucker...
Your booty, your body
It hits like karate
The kung-fu, the come thru,
Jiu-jitsu, I need you
I'm never too clever
Just holler, whenever
And I'll hear you, ya got me
Lets kick it, karate
Long, long legs and a short, short skirt
She won't take 'em off, she's a tease, a flirt
Nice, full lips and an ass like what?
She said "I'm a fish tank, fill me up"
When it's on girl, it's on
I got everything you need
Is it right, is it wrong
Can I be your fantasy?
Your booty, your body
It hits like karate
The kung-fu, the come thru,
Jiu-jitsu, I need you
I'm never too clever
Just holler, whenever
And I'll hear you, ya got me
Lets kick it, karate
Ya gotta lock and load, in fact, double-down
Cover her mouth she don't make a sound
(Shhhhh)
Feel my style I'm rock n' roll
Make her an offer and she can't say no
When it's on girl, it's on
I got everything you need
Is it right, is it wrong
Can I be your fantasy?
Your booty, your body
It hits like karate
The kung-fu, the come thru,
Jiu-jitsu, I need you
I'm never too clever
Just holler, whenever
And I'll hear you, ya got me
I got knocked on my backThey wore ski-masks
Said they would bust a cap
I couldn't protect you
I couldn't protect you
If I learned all the moves
Round-house kicks and kung-fu
Then you would see the animal inside of me
Whoa-oh, like dynamite
I blow up, cross Solemite
Get tone-up
If I knew karate
If I knew karate
UHH!
We rumble four fifteen
I'm feelin' bad
My possee's lookin' mean
I wanna impress you
I wanna impress you
If I claimed the rock
Put fist to face and watch you drop
Then you would see the animal inside of me
Whoa-oh, like dynamite
I blow up, cross Solemite
Get tone-up
If I knew karate
If I knew karate
UHH!
Back home, I'm black and blue
I lick my wounds
Make eyes with you
I wanna address you
I wanna adress you
Now that you've fumbled me
You know I stand for victory
Now you would see the animal inside of me
Whoa-oh, like dynamite
I blow up, cross Solemite
Get tone-up
If I knew karate
Would you let me hold your body?
If I knew karate
Would you let me touch your body?
If I knew karate
Would you let me have your body?
If I knew karate
Would you let me, would you let me
Whoa-oh, like dynamite
I blow up, cross Solemite
Get tone-up
If I knew karate
