CNBC (officially the Consumer News and Business Channel until 1991) is a satellite and cable television business news channel in the U.S., owned and operated by NBCUniversal. The network and its international spinoffs cover business headlines and provide live coverage of financial markets. The combined reach of CNBC and its siblings is 390 million viewers around the world. In 2007, the network was ranked as the 19th most valuable cable channel in the U.S., worth roughly $4 billion. It is headquartered in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
The CNBC channel had its beginnings around 1980 as the Satellite Program Network (SPN), showing a low-budget mix of old movies, instructional and entertainment programs. The channel later changed its name to Tempo Television. After initially signing a letter of intent to acquire Tempo,NBC eventually opted for a deal to lease the channel's transponder in June 1988. On this platform, and under the guidance of Tom Rogers, the channel was relaunched on April 17, 1989 as the Consumer News and Business Channel. NBC and Cablevision initially operated CNBC as a 50-50 joint venture, choosing to headquarter the channel in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
Michael Monroe Lewis (born October 15, 1960) is an American non-fiction author and financial journalist. His bestselling books include The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, Liar's Poker, The New New Thing, Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, Panic, Home Game: An Accidental Guide to Fatherhood and Boomerang. He was a contributing editor to Vanity Fair, 2009–present.
Lewis was born in New Orleans to corporate lawyer J. Thomas Lewis and community activist Diana Monroe Lewis. He attended the college preparatory Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. He attended Princeton University where he received a BA degree (cum laude) in Art History in 1982 and was a member of the Ivy Club.
He went on to work with New York art dealer Daniel Wildenstein. He enrolled in the London School of Economics, and received his MA degree in Economics in 1985. Lewis was hired by Salomon Brothers and moved to New York for their training program. He worked at their London office as a bond salesman. He resigned to write Liar's Poker and become a financial journalist.
Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (/ˈdʒɒbz/; February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American businessman, designer and inventor. He is best known as the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Through Apple, he was widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution and for his influential career in the computer and consumer electronics fields. Jobs also co-founded and served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, when Disney acquired Pixar.
In the late 1970s, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak engineered one of the first commercially successful lines of personal computers, the Apple II series. Jobs was among the first to see the commercial potential of Xerox PARC's mouse-driven graphical user interface, which led to the creation of the Apple Lisa and, one year later, the Macintosh. During this period he also led efforts that would begin the desktop publishing revolution, notably through the introduction of the LaserWriter and the associated PageMaker software.
Melissa Lee (Korean: 이지연) (born circa 1966) is a New Zealand politician. She was elected to the House of Representatives as a list MP for the National Party in the 2008 election. She is currently Parliamentary Private Secretary for Ethnic Affairs under Judith Collins.
Lee was born in South Korea and grew up in Malaysia before moving to Australia and then to New Zealand in 1988 with her family. She has a MA Hons (First Class) in Communication Studies. She spent twenty three years in journalism including a five-year stint at the Sunday News and writing for numerous publications including the New Zealand Herald and The Listener. She was also the producer of the TV magazine series, Asia Downunder.
In November 2008, Lee became a list MP in the New Zealand parliament. Her maiden speech included sections in English, Māori, and Korean. In English, she mentioned crime, education, and anti-Asian racism issues in New Zealand. In the Māori section, she mentioned the history of Māori first coming to New Zealand by canoe from Hawaiki and compared it to her own migration to New Zealand by aeroplane. Near the end of her speech, she thanked, in Korean, all the people that had given her support "simply by virtue of [their] shared heritage."
James "Jim" J. Cramer (born February 10, 1955) is an American television personality, a former hedge fund manager, and a best-selling author. Cramer is the host of CNBC's Mad Money and a co-founder and chairman of TheStreet.com, Inc.
Cramer married Karen Backfisch-Olufsen, a trader, in 1988,[citation needed] and lives in Summit, New Jersey.
Cramer was born to Jewish parents in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. One of his first jobs was selling ice cream at Veterans Stadium during Philadelphia Phillies games. Cramer went to Springfield Township High School in Montgomery County.
Cramer graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a B.A. in government.
He began his involvement with journalism in college, working for The Harvard Crimson, and rising to become its president. After graduation, Cramer worked in several entry-level reporting jobs. Dating back to March 1, 1978, Cramer worked for the Tallahassee Democrat in Tallahassee, Florida, where he covered the Ted Bundy murders. The then-executive editor, Richard Oppel, says "[Cramer] was like a driving ram. He was great at getting the story." He then worked as a journalist for The Los Angeles Herald Examiner. Around this time, his apartment was robbed and he was left with nothing more than his car and the things in it; he lived out of his car for about nine months.[citation needed] He also worked for Governor Jerry Brown.

Hey girl, why don't you listen
[Verse 1:]
I know why you look so sad, you got your head down in your hands and you crying out loud.
Screaming that he did it again, took your love, used you up and he ran back to the other chick.
You saying that you tired of the lies, no back and forth this time, I'm throwing out his stuff and saying bye.
Can't continue going thru this, but I know when he calls you'll be right back with him again.
Ooooo no!
[Chorus:]
Everydays always something, a man will go and take your pride your left with nothing.
Tell you that to stick around and you should love him. Tell me what's it gonna take your losing your sanity.
Well then let me tell you this one thing, you're worth over a million princess cut diamonds.
Don't let nobody tell you that you deserve this, lift your head up high and say I know that I'm gonna be okay.
[Verse 2:]
You should stop taking the blame, say it's your fault cuz hes gone and ain't ever comming home.
You know that nothings ever gon change, he'll be back, your off track, and after that be on his way.
Life has so much more to offer you, so you gotta shake the blues, pick yourself up, do what you gotta do.
Trust me girl it gets better, time goes on, you realize he never deserved you at all.
[Hook:]
And if you got a man that's treating you real bad, never has your back, it's time for you to leave his ass.
And if you got a man that never gave a damn, it's time for you to understand, you deserve a better man.
And if you got a man that's treating you real bad, never has your back, it's time for you to leave his ass.
And if you got a man that never gave a damn, it's time for you to understand, because you deserve a better man.
[Chorus: x2]
Everydays always something, a man will go and take your pride your left with nothing.
Tell you that to stick around and you should love him. Tell me what's it gonna take your losing your sanity.
Well then let me tell you this one thing, your worth over a million princess cut diamonds.

It's gonna be ok
It's gonna be ok
It's gonna be ok
I learned to make 'em run like the revenant
But I never had a 9 milli or a mac 11
I was enticed by the G life
When I met them boys from the east side
Yeah making money in the street life
You could get stunted drinking honey from the bee hive
Made my way through the troubles sometimes
You could say I always had something else on my mind
Yeah I've been all about that mean code
When I was younger always look up to the hero
Everyone else they liked Scarface, DeNiro
They used used call me a weirdo
If you ever felt like your world is over
Thought about just giving up
Feeling like you're f----d up when you're sober
And your best shot's not enough
Have you ever thought about just ending
Even toy with the curtain call
I know how you feel right now my friend see,
I've been backed on against the wall
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
I remember I was rapping in the twilight saying
It would be so nice living in the limelight
It was 1999 right I never saw it coming
Grinding hit me blindside
Been so many years since I looked back
I know that it's this music makes me look at my life
In a different perspective to many studio sessions
Got my music obsession without no musical lessons
Learned to play punk rock listened to other lessons
I was raised west side and used my mind as a weapon
I got cracked a few times and I spat a few lines
Ain't saying that it's cool just glad that I survived
If you ever felt like your world is over
Thought about just giving up
Feeling like you're f----d up when you're sober
And your best shot's not enough
Have you ever thought about just ending
Even toy with the curtain call
I know how you feel right now my friend see,
I've been backed on against the wall
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
Before this day is done
And it falls down out the sun
Just let me hear you say
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
It's gonna be ok, hey hey
If you ever felt like your world is over
Thought about just giving up
Feeling like you're f----d up when you're sober
And your best shot's not enough
Have you ever thought about just ending
Even toy with the curtain call
I know how you feel right now my friend see,
