SUNDARBAN, The Largest mangrove in the whole of Asia is mainly famous and overly popular for being the home of the famous Bengal Tigers. But apart from the tiger, Sundarban also boasts od many unique and endangered species of fauna which are not less important than the tiger. and there are the rivers, the mystifying pneumatophores of the gothic mangroves and the unique folkore of the charismatic islands. We tried to capture these , in this documentary.

UNESCO labels Sundarbans of Bangladesh ‘World Heritage in Danger’
The future of World Heritage sites is being discussed at the annual meeting of the United Nations's cultural and scientific agency in Azerbaijan.
A third of 166 UNESCO protected sites are considered to be under threat.
They include the Sundarbans Mangrove Forest in Bangladesh.
It is facing several dangers, both natural and man-made.

Amphan aftermath: Seawater destroys farmland in Sundarbans
The Indian government has deployed soldiers to help with rescue and relief efforts after Cyclone Amphan hit the country's eastern coast last week.
More than 20 rivers have breached their banks and seawater is seeping into farmlands in the Sundarbans mangroves region - a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In case Govt reservations are full for Sundarban Safari. Then you can take Private Boats too for Sundarban Safari.
The charges for Private Boats can be approx Rs. 6,000 to 7,000 per person.
They also offer full day tour too. I don’t have any details to share with you but these are estimates that i got from few people.
Note: According to Govt rules small boats are not allowed for tour purpose plus it is not safe also.
You can do booking of the trip in advance through the below website and also connect with tourism office over phone for more information in this regard.

P.S: You can’t get down to the forest area and do any safari there like there is no jeep safari or Elephant safari. Only way you travel to Sundarbans is by ship or large size boat….
