Mosques open doors to non-Muslims in Germany
On 3rd of October Germany celebrates its Unity Day and since 1997 the Muslim community opens their doors hosting the Open Mosque Day. This event shares the date with the reunification of Germany showing that the Islamic population is also a part of the country. The partnership took the opportunity to initiate this event which opens the doors of more than 1,000 Mosques all around Germany. The largest events are being held in the cities of Koln, Rostock and Berlin. The Muslim community in Germany is trying to spread information about Islam and their core beliefs. The Open Mosque Day creates a space for interaction, where neighbors can get to know each other and share their perspectives, or just taste traditional food or share a tea. The intention is to create a dialogue between people from different cultures. Approximately 100,000 visitors attend the Open Mosque Day every year. Not only offering guided tours in the mosques, The Muslim community hosts panel discussions on a yearly Changing topic. This year's Open Mosque motto is: environmental protection-Mosques take action. The dialogue that starts during events like Open Mosque Day go beyond simple topic discussion since they are key elements towards a healthy interaction between people from different cultures. During this day, many Germans enter a Mosque for the first time in their lives.- published: 04 Oct 2013

Britain First || Anti-muslim Extremists Invades UK Mosques
Representatives of Britain First, an offshoot of the British National party that is contesting this month's local and European elections, carried out what they called a Christian crusade, attempting to hand out Bibles and distribute Anti-muslim leaflets accusing community elders of failing to stop grooming gangs. The group filmed themselves telling one Muslim man inside a mosque to "reject the false prophet Muhammad and read the Bible", and they visited the campaign office of Nazam Azam, a Muslim Labour councillor running for re-election in Bradford, demanding action on "Muslim grooming gangs". They also turned up at Bradford's lord mayor, Khadim Hussain house and intimidated two of his daughters.- published: 14 May 2014

France: Churches into Mosques | European Journal
The sale of church buildings has become commonplace in France - but a recent proposal to convert a church to a mosque has triggered a nationwide controversy. Church congregations in France are dwindling and the town of Vierzon is no exception. With a population of only 27,000, Vierzon is home to six Roman Catholic churches. To balance its books, the local diocese decided to sell one of the churches. But tempers flared after a Moroccan Muslim organization said it wanted to buy the church and convert it to a mosque. IRAN - Cultural events in mosques
IRAN - Cultural events in mosques
Cultural events in mosques Praying in groups is highly recommended in Islam; one of the purposes of mosques is the same thing i.e. to bring together Muslims and encourage unity amongst them. Mosques are a place for prayers and religious instructions; Muslims come together to worship Allah, seek guidance, and take refuge from the troubles of their everyday life. In Iran, aside from praying and reciting the Quran, mosques provide a variety of cultural and educational programs; they play an important social role in the community as people from all ages come together and unite to acquire knowledge.- published: 12 Jun 2014
