The Celts (usually pronounced /ˈkɛlts/ but sometimes /ˈsɛlts/, see pronunciation of Celtic) or Kelts were an ethno-linguistic group of tribal societies in Iron Age and Medieval Europe who spoke Celtic languages and had a similar culture.
The earliest archaeological culture that may justifiably be considered as Proto-Celtic is the Late Bronze Age Urnfield culture of central Europe from the last quarter of the second millennium BC. Their fully Celtic descendants in central Europe were the people of the Iron Age Hallstatt culture (c. 800-450 BC) named for the rich grave finds in Hallstatt, Austria. By the later La Tène period (c. 450 BC up to the Roman conquest), this Celtic culture had expanded over a wide range of regions, whether by diffusion or migration: to the British Isles (Insular Celts), France and The Low Countries (Gauls), much of Central Europe, the Iberian Peninsula (Celtiberians, Celtici and Gallaeci) and northern Italy (Golaseccans and Cisalpine Gauls) and following the Gallic invasion of the Balkans in 279 BC as far east as central Anatolia (Galatians).
Frank Delaney (born October 24, 1942) is an Irish novelist, journalist and broadcaster. He's the author of New York Times best-seller "Ireland", the non-fiction book "Simple Courage: A True Story of Peril on the Sea", and many other works of fiction, non-fiction and collections. He was born in Tipperary, Ireland.
In 1970, Delaney began working as a newsreader for the Irish state radio and television network RTE. In the early 1970s he became a news reporter for the BBC in Dublin, and covered an intense period of violence known as The Troubles. After 5 years of reporting on the violence, he moved to London to work in Arts broadcasting. In 1978, he created the award-winning weekly show "Bookshelf" for BBC Radio Four, which covered books, writers and the business of publishing. Over the next five and a half years, he interviewed over 1400 authors including Anthony Burgess, John Updike, Margaret Atwood, Christopher Isherwood and Stephen King. On television, Delaney wrote and presented for Omnibus, the BBC weekly arts series. He served as the Literature Director of the Edinburgh Festival in 1980, and he hosted his own talk show "Frank Delaney" in the early 1980s, featuring an array of cultural and literary personalities. Afterward, he created and presented "Word of Mouth", the BBC's award winning show about language, as well as a variety of radio and television documentaries including specials on James Joyce, Robert Graves, Hemingway in Paris, and the Shakespeare Industry. He presented "The Book Show" on the Sky News satellite channel for many years.
Sir Barrington Windsor Cunliffe, CBE, known professionally as Barry Cunliffe (born 10 December 1939) is a former Professor of European Archaeology at the University of Oxford, a position held from 1972 to 2007. He is now Emeritus Professor of European Archaeology.
Cunliffe's decision to become an archaeologist was sparked off at the age of nine by the discovery of Roman remains on his uncle's farm in Somerset. After studying at Portsmouth Northern Grammar School (now the Mayfield School) and reading archaeology and anthropology at the University of Cambridge, he became a lecturer at the University of Bristol in 1963. Fascinated by the Roman remains in nearby Bath he threw himself into a programme of excavation and publication.
In 1966 he became an unusually young professor when he took the chair at the newly-founded Department of Archaeology at the University of Southampton. There he became involved in the excavation (1961–68) of the Fishbourne Roman Palace in Sussex. Another site in southern England led him away from the Roman period. He began a long series of summer excavations (1969–88) of the Iron Age hill fort at Danebury, Hampshire and was subsequently involved in the Danebury Environs Programme (1989–95). His interest in Iron Age Britain and Europe generated a number of publications and he became an acknowledged authority on the Celts,

In dance, Flatley was taught by Dennis Dennehy at the Dennehy School of Irish Dance in Chicago, then went on to producing his own show. After graduating from Brother Rice High School, on Chicago's Southwest Side, he opened a dance school.

I am trapped in a flood, but it isn't raining
I have a tendency to get bored too quickly
Recently my dull life seems to have no meaning
I am stuck with someone we're not communicating
I want to buy
(Have you been affected?)
I need consoling
(You could be addicted)
I need something new
Something trivial would do
I want to satisfy this empty feeling
Walking down the street looking in the windows
The TV, the lights flickering in other peoples windows
Imagine myself moving in the kitchens
Somehow I don't know, it just looks so tempting
I want to buy
(Have you been affected?)
I need consoling
(You could be addicted)
I need something new
Something trivial would do
I want to satisfy this empty feeling
I've got a new, improved remedy
Two of my lonely fantasies ?????
When I supply myself with something new...
Going home, into bed when I've treated myself
I've been quite hard, after a hard day's work
I have found a hundred ways to get rid of all my worries
He's not pillaging, stopping me, committing the crime ??
I want to buy
(Have you been affected?)
I need consoling
(You could be addicted)
I need something new
Something trivial would do
I want to satisfy this empty feeling
I've got a new improved remedy

I knew you were sitting in your room all alone
I knew I was the only girl for you
You have told me so
But somehow it slipped my mind
Whilst walking home
Whilst you were sulking I could have been raped
In Ladbroke Grove
Well you can take your records back
And take your comics too
I'm going to have some fun tonight
Life with or without you
So I spend an evening
Without getting my face cut
And another evening
Without getting run over
Again another evening without falling in love
So I listen to the radio
Smoke a cigarette
Same old thing, yeah I know
Everybody does it
Six months
Have passed, now try become between us
I never missed you, only sometimes
Dreaming on a bus
There is absolutley no doubt in my mind
That you and I have grown apart
For the first time
Seeing you with other girls
Sometimes bothers me
But I don't want to play those games
They're just not interesting
So I spend an evening
Without getting my face cut
And another evening
Without getting run over
Again another evening without falling in love
So I listen to the radio
Smoke a cigarette
Same old thing, yeah I know
Everybody does it
Since yesterday, like I heard your voice behind me
I froze on the spot, did not turn around
In case you'd find me
I think you lied or you can't tell
Tell the truth
You didn't want me, you wanted someone else
Who'd give you proof
But I can't trust the feelings rushing through my head
I'd wait for you to call me nights
And come to me instead
So I spend an evening
Without getting my face cut
And another evening
Without getting run over
Again another evening without falling in love
So listen to the radio
Smoke a cigeratte
Same old thing, yeah you know

Ooh, I bet you're wondering how I knew
'Bout your plans to make me blue
Some other guy that knew before
Between the two of us guys you know I love you more
It took me by surprise I must say
When I found out yesterday
Don't you know that
I heard it through the grapevine?
Not much longer would you be mine
Oh, I heard it through the grapevine
Oh, I'm just about to lose my mind
Honey, honey, yeah
Heard it through the grapevine
How much longer would you be mine, baby?
I know that a man ain't supposed to cry
But these tears can't hold inside
Losin' you would end my life you see
'Cause you mean that much to me
You could have told me yourself
That you love someone else
Instead
I heard it through the grapevine
Not much longer would you be mine
Oh, I heard it through the grapevine
And I'm just about to lose my mind
Honey, honey, yeah
Heard it through the grapevine
How much longer would you be mine, baby?
People say believe half of what you see
Son, and none of what you hear
I can't help bein' confused
If it's true, please tell me, dear
Do you plan to let me go
For the other guy you loved before?
Instead
I heard it through the grapevine
Not much longer would you be mine
Baby, I heard it through the grapevine
And I'm just about to lose my mind
Honey, honey, yeah
Heard it through the grapevine
How much longer would you be mine, baby?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Heard it through the grapevine
How much longer would you be mine, baby?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Heard it through the grapevine
How much longer would you be mine, baby?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Heard it through the grapevine

I live in a town with a hundred lights around,
my head is like a radio set,
I'm waiting to hear what program is next.
What program is next? (FM)
Frequent Mutilation transmits over the air,
serving for the purpose
of those who want you to fear.
They say it's all right, but suspicion creeps in
my nightmares don't project my dreams
I can't but wonder what's feeding my screen.
What's feeding my screen? (FM)
Frequent Mutilation transmits over the air,
serving for the purpose
of those who want you to fear.
Thousand nights of confusion wedged in my mind
breaking down another illusion,
today's transmission will give me the solution.
Frequent Mutilation transmits over the air,
serving for the purpose
Passion that shouts
and red with anger
I lost myself
Through alleys of mysteries
I went up and down
like a demented train
Don't take it personal
I choose my own fate
I follow love
I follow hate.
Searching for something
that makes makes hearts move
I found myself.
But my best possession
walked into the shade
and threatened to drift away.
Don't take it personal
I choose my own fate
I follow love
I follow hate.
Full of myself
I left you behind
as if I could,
possessed by Quixote's dream
went to fight dragons
in the land of concrete.
Don't take it personal
I choose my own fate
I follow love
I follow hate.
Rolling in pain
discovered what hurts
and tasted hell
infatuated by madness
I danced in flames
Kingdom of souls
On the wild and distant rollin' hills
Solitary man Stands alone in silent thought
Look into the dark and endless sky
And hear the clouds of crying
angels sigh
Sweet water cool
all around it Feels like paradise
Gentle spirits call
Play illusion in my mind
Day after day, night after night,
Under a bloody sky
Bullets fall like rain
I'm caught in the cross-fire
Of mad men, fear and lies
This is no honeymoon picture postcard,
I'm sending from the battlelines
Lines are drawn
on each side of the streets
The neighbours are strangers here
They never speak
And the smoke in the sky above
is blotting out the sun
There are hard times up ahead
for our daughters and our sons
And all the kings and their desires
Making life's blood fan the fire
When all we want is shelter from the storm (shelter
from the storm)
Sweet kisses in our lover's arms
We all waiting for the storm to break
And let the sunlight shine within
And pray to God we see a new horizon
In no-mans land,
Where no-one gives a damn
And the lives are blowing away
On the winds of deserts sands
And inside my heart I know
stirs a quiet pain
'cos there's nothing left to lose
and there's nothing left to gain
And all the kings and their desires
Making life's blood fan the fire
When all we want is shelter from the storm (shelter
from the storm)
Sweet kisses in our lover's arms
We all waiting for the storm to break
And let the sunlight shine within
And pray to God we see a new horizon
When all we want is shelter from the storm (shelter
from the storm)
Sweet kisses in our lover's arms
We all waiting for the storm to break
And let the sunlight shine within
And pray to God we see a new horizon
And let the sunlight shine within
