Plot
Edge is the story of Edward 'Edge' Jones (Edge), a man with no memory of the event in the Persian Gulf war that left him physically scarred and lost in a civilian world that offers him no direction. From the past comes Lennox, a fellow soldier from the war, who invites him to go on a road trip with the promise of regaining the adventure and camaraderie they knew in the military. Edge is captured in the attraction of regaining his identity as a soldier and agrees to go, unaware of Lennox's all-consuming need for the powers of a warrior in battle. In the beginning, the trip re-awakens Edge's spirit, but gradually his memory returns as well, and as the events of the past become more horribly clear, so does Lennox's 'mission' become evident, and Edge finds himself in a nightmarish world of betrayal, both past and present. On a parallel road trip, a young girl, Berry, leads her mother on a quest to photograph UFO's, presumably for initiation into a society of witnesses. True motives involving the denial of her father's death, however, push below the surface of Berry's mission. Moving deeper into open country, the mother struggling to understand her daughter's feelings, the two women unknowingly get closer to the point where their own journey will converge with that of Edge and Lennox.

Everything before now doesn't matter....
Edward 'Edge' Jones: I don't remember the explosion, you know. I just woke up in a hospital. There's a period that's completely gone - - - without any warning.::Edward 'Edge' Jones: This is how I woke up and they had to tell me why. They gave me a medal. They told me they were sorry. They thanked me.::Edward 'Edge' Jones: But it was never up to me, or any of the others. We were all blind. What good is a man against something that falls out of the sky?::Lennox: You survived. That's all that matters.
Lennox: You're a soldier... Don't try to live another way.
Edward 'Edge' Jones: While I was in the bathroom I was thinking about all of my operations. You know, I was under anesthetic for so much of the time that anything could have happened and I wouldn't have known it. What if one of those doctors had just decided to let me die and disconnected everything? They could do that and I'd be completely helpless. They could do anything they wanted to me and then kill me or just tell me that everything is fine when I wake up, and I'd never know the difference. I hate that feeling.::Lennox: There's no way around it.::Edward 'Edge' Jones: I don't trust doctors.

Long live adventure... and adventurers!
Rudyard Kipling's epic of splendor, spectacle and high adventure at the top of a legendary world.
Peachy Carnehan: What's he saying, Billy?::Billy Fish: Danny's bleeding. They know! He says not god, not devil, but man!::Peachy Carnehan: [approaches Danny] They've twigged it, Danny. You've had it! The jig's up!::Daniel Dravot: [grabs arrow and raises hand in proclamation] I, Sikander -::Peachy Carnehan: [cuts off Danny] For God's sake!::Peachy Carnehan: [grabs Danny and leads him down the temple stairs] We've got to brass it out, Danny. Danny, brass it out!::Peachy Carnehan: [Danny, Peachy and Billy Fish try to escape the mob with heads held high] Bags of swank!::Daniel Dravot: [Danny, Peachy and Billy Fish on the run] We'll get your riflemen, Peachy, and we'll come back and slaughter the dogs! A drenching in their own blood we'll give them! Riflemen, prepare to advance!::Peachy Carnehan: [grabs rifles] Too many for that, Danny. Retire in sections!::Daniel Dravot: Retire? Retire be damned!::Peachy Carnehan: We've gotta make a run for it!
Daniel Dravot: You have our permission to bugger off!
Billy Fish: I oft times tell Ootah about Englishmens. How they give names to dogs and take off hats to womans, and march into battle, left - right, left -right with rifles on their shoulders.
Daniel Dravot: Peachy, I'm heartily ashamed for gettin' you killed instead of going home rich like you deserved to, on account of me bein' so bleedin' high and bloody mighty. Can you forgive me?::Peachy Carnehan: That I can and that I do, Danny, free and full and without let or hindrance.::Daniel Dravot: Everything's all right then.
Daniel Dravot: Let him put *that* in his paper. If he is in need of news.
Peachy Carnehan: Keep looking at me. It helps to keep my soul from flying off.
Peachy Carnehan: Pardon me while I fall down laughing. HA, HA, HA.
Peachy Carnehan: Detriments you call us? Detriments? Well I want to remind you that it was detriments like us that built this bloody Empire AND the Izzat of the bloody Raj. Hats on.
Peachy Carnehan: Home to what? A porters uniform outside a restaurant and six penny tips from belching civilians for closing cab doors on their blowzy women?::Daniel Dravot: Not for us thank you. Not after watching afghans come howling down out of the hills and taking battlefield command when all the officers copped it.::Peachy Carnehan: Well said, brother Dravot.
Daniel Dravot: The more tribes, the more they'll fight, and the better for us.

Officer may refer to:
A police officer (also known as a policeman or policewoman, and constable in some forces, particularly in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth nations) is a warranted employee of a police force. In the United States, "officer" is the formal name of the lowest police rank; in many other countries "officer" is a generic term not specifying a particular rank, and the lowest rank is often "constable". Police officers are generally charged with the apprehension of criminals and the prevention and detection of crime, and the maintenance of public order. Police officers may be sworn to an oath, and have the power to arrest people and detain them for a limited time, along with other duties and powers.
Some police officers may also be trained in special duties, such as counter-terrorism, surveillance, child protection, VIP protection, and investigation techniques into major crime, including fraud, rape, murder and drug trafficking.
Responsibilities of a police officer are varied, and may differ greatly from within one political context to another. Typical duties relate to keeping the peace, law enforcement, protection of people and property, and the investigation of crimes. Officers are expected to respond to a variety of situations that may arise while they are on duty. Rules and guidelines dictate how an officer should behave within the community, and in many contexts restrictions are placed on what the uniformed officer wears. In some countries, rules and procedures dictate that a police officer is obliged to intervene in a criminal incident, even if they are off-duty. Police officers in nearly all countries retain their lawful powers, while off duty.
