Well the reason that I
have to spend the entire
rest of my life making the most of my time
being free from the man
please you all if I can
find it happens a lot
breaking things when I'm not right
Move to the hill
from a chemical spill
have a roof made of glass
and a house full of class
be a mystery guy
wear a shirt and a tie
cos the rules don't apply
from the conts on the wrong side
Be out of your mind
all of the time
drink up the wine
that's my design
Ignorance is the bliss
that's the way to exist
what else can we do
sit in here watch the news
or sing about war
bang my head on the door
I'd rather help those around me
and hope that they're happy
Be out of your mind
all of the time
drink up the wine
that's my design
Out of your mind
all of the time
drink up the wine
It’s a simple disease yet complex with complicity
It’s the dying mans voice when no words can be spun
It’s the wrench in the cogs of the smoking machinery
That plows through family and friends just for fun
When you can’t stop a world that’s grown ill with insanity
And there’re no longer words to express your distrust
And this fucking disaster shows no rhythm or rhyme
That we’ve ruined it all disassembled
From our own
Design, design, designed to distrust
Design, design, designed to be lost
Designed, in blood we all sign
Grave obligations to commit unforgivable
We need 600 bodies to complete this new graveyard
And 10,000 gallons just to drown all our rage
A dozen more names just to finish the headstones
Some bravery to get us all out of this cage
The bodies stack high in this tomb of society
And the blade in my skin always writes the best lines
A stony dead silence seems to cut through the scenery
It’s the malignant cancer we’ve created through our own
Design, design, designed to distrust
Design, design, designed to be lost
Designed, in blood we all sign
Grave obligations to commit unforgivable crimes
Crimes, crimes of a dubious nature
Crimes just for quick-cash or more social stature
Crimes, against our own world in time
Wicked mistakes makes us victims of our own
Design, design, designed to distrust
Design, design, designed to be lost
Designed
Design, design, designed to distrust
Design, design, designed to be lost
(Chant)
As years drift by
and future dies.
1. He sits and he thinks
about all he's done in life,
I'm now an old man,
what have I been in life?
what did I do?
Had no end to aspire to.
2. His dreams as a boy
were of hope and intention
of making his mark
with his plans and invention,
where did they go,
how could he know how time goes.
In my day had to have
certain future,
but now you can do as you like,
all that I might have wanted,
seeking what you're after,
but not for me.
Everything comes to those who wait,
I thought everything may come to me
made my way only as I was able.
3. He knows there's no more he can do,
no romances, now bitten today
for they have all his chances,
all too late, no one waits
how time goes by.
Seeking what you're after,
but not for me
Have as my years drift by
This is a start
My heart has never felt this way before
This is a start
My heart has never felt this way before
The weather’s washed me up on shore
And now I’m sure I love you for
Chorus:
Everything
Everything
Everything
You know I’m yours
Everything
Everything
Everything
You know that you’re my heart
So come on love and lift me up
Hold me up
Don’t stand me up
So come on love and lift me up
Hold me up
Don’t stand me up
And more and more and more and more
I know I’m sure I love you for
(Chorus)
And all I know is that you’re good for me
And you believe in me
And that is all I need
Alone
A leaky faucet is my metronome
Poverty
It brings creativity in me
Chorus:
In me, I see a light ahead
In me, I know that I’m not quite dead
Instead I’ll be...
I’ve plateaued
I’ve plateaued
I’ve plateaued
I’ve been put on hold
And it’s getting old
It’s getting old
Going ‘round in circles makes you cold
In me, I see a light ahead
In me, I know that I’m not quite dead
You don’t know me anymore
You don’t know me anymore
Because I don’t know me anymore
(Chorus)
You’re coming home tomorrow and I could not be happier
With all the things we’ve talked of doing
I know your heart is worth pursuing
You’ll be waiting for me just like I’ve waited for you
Do you still look the same as you did when you got on that plane?
Let’s take a big leap
Jump over the noise
Listen to me
Listen to my voice
Oh oh oh oh
I really hope it works out
Sharing a bedroom
And sharing a bathroom with you
And I hope my mood
It don’t change your point of view
Let’s take a big leap
Jump over the noise
Listen to me
Listen to my voice
Oh oh oh oh
I’ll be on the road, and no, you can’t tag along
I’ll be coming home
Listen to this song
Listen to me
I won’t forget you and I’ll really miss you
No matter what I do I’ll be right beside you
Let’s go get a tattoo
Yours will say you love me and mine will say “I love you”
Can’t think of anything to do
Can you?
We’ll write our names in the sand
We’ll draw a heart to encompass them
We’ll let the beach know where we stand because it’s permanent
I know, I know it’s cliché, but it’s true
I love you
Chorus:
I know with you that I’m always home
And I know I’ll never be alone
I know with you that I’m always home
All I want to say is, “Je suis ai aimé”
We’ll say we’ve never felt this way
We’ll put our love right on display
Too bad, so sad no one’s ever felt this way
That’s what we’ll say
I know, I know it’s cliché, but it’s true
I love you
(Double chorus)
I know, I know it’s cliché, but it’s true
I love you
As you lay sleeping you’re miles away
I wake up with the daylight to pull down the shades
Back to your empty arms crying
I wish you had stayed
As you lay dreaming, alone in your bed
Caressing the pillow that was me instead
“We have to stay strong.”
Those were the words that you said
And I’ll be strong if you’ll be stronger
Chorus:
And it’s the time between us
Time between us
Time between us
Yeah
As the days go by they go slowly by
I ask you a question to which you reply,
“My head is not changed
I just want to be by your side.”
So I close my eyes and imagine your face
And my hands follow blindly to where yours once traced
It’s cold, yes it’s cold, I know, but it must take your place
And I’ll be strong if you’ll be stronger
(Chorus)
And I’ll be strong
Yes I’ll be strong
I’ll be strong if you’ll be stronger
Hey, congratulations
You are the laziest perfectionist
Hey, it’s a revelation
Eventually you’re gonna learn to live with it
And I know you never thought you’d get this far
And it’s just about time to raise the bar
Pre-chorus:
So go
Don’t slow
Because this only happens once
And you know if you slow
Well you might just lose it all
Hey, it’s a celebration
Because everybody loves the rehabilitated
Oh, yeah, I know you hate it
And you struggle to make sure the day’s not wasted
And you’re looking at the canvas mighty white
And you know that your low has reached a brand new height
(Pre-chorus)
Chorus:
You are the laziest perfectionist
You are the laziest perfectionist
(When are you gonna wake up?)
You are the laziest perfectionist
You are the laziest perfectionist
(When you can’t even make your mind up?)
You are the laziest perfectionist
You are the laziest perfectionist
Hey, congratulations
You are the laziest perfectionist
Hey, it’s a revelation
Eventually you’re gonna learn to live with it
(Pre-chorus)
Watch out!
Here it comes
It’s just like pulling off a band-aid
It shocks you but rocks you awake
You start to shake, but not in a bad way
You’re gonna get it in your head someday
You’ll find a way
You got what it takes, and you’re gonna do it
Chorus:
So what will it take for this ice to break
For this mood to change?
What will it take?
You’re learning the hard way
It’s easier than you think
Do you hear what I say?
Is there anybody in there?
Yes, but it don’t feel that way
I hear what you say, but my mind’s in the way
Can you come back another day when I’m not so gray?
No, it’s too bad today is the only day, so do it
(Double chorus)
Do you know what you’re doing?
Does this make any sense at all?
Do you plan on improving?
Are you just waiting for the call?
Are the walls closing in?
You’ve got to climb over them
If you want to tickle me on the knee,
Do as you please, but you should know I’m ticklish
If you want to hold my hand, go right ahead
But please be prepared, because I perspirate
How embarrassing, it’s our first date
When I look in your eyes, I can’t concentrate
When you smile
I realize little imperfections I want to memorize
Don’t hide
Would you like it if I…?
Would you like to kiss?
Well maybe I might
You look really pretty in the light
And if you let me I’ll feed my appetite
Chorus:
I told you so
I think you knew I’d fall for you
I told you so
You have a hold on everything I do
You look really pretty in the light
And if you let me I’ll feed my appetite
Why do we fight?
We want the same thing, right?
You don’t mean to be mean when you’re mean
I know what you mean
Anyway, you tell me what’s the point in bickering
We should just figure out a way
Let’s put this all behind us
We’ve got a lot to do
I know it all means something to me and you
Chorus:
Hit, hit (oh yeah)
Hit, hit (oh yeah)
Hit, hit (oh yeah)
On the drums
Hit, hit (oh yeah)
Hit, hit (oh yeah)
Hit, hit (oh yeah)
On the drums
Hit, hit (oh yeah)
Hit, hit (oh yeah)
Hit, hit (oh yeah)
And I’ll
Quit, quit (oh yeah)
Quit, quit (oh yeah)
Quit, quit (oh yeah)
Throwing a fit
Do you know what you mean to me?
You made a dream a reality
And when we scream it just seems to me
We’re losing everything
Going in the same direction
Wasting time on imperfection
Because without you there’d be no me
I wish my lips were red today
I need to match the color of my speed
I want, I want the world to say
It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay
Chorus:
I need to feel on top
Don’t ever want to stop
I need to feel like I figured it all out
And I want to feel this way forever and a day
And maybe someday I’ll figure it all out
Figure it all out
I feel the need to catch this wave
To let it out
To make it stay
Nothing will get in the way if I say
It’s my way
It’s mine
(Chorus)
Maybe I’ll look back someday and say
I did it all for love of all of it
Maybe I’ll look back someday and know
I did it all for love of all of it
(Chorus)
I wish my lips were red today
Chorus:
I can’t say anything to you
Can’t say anything to you
Can’t say anything to you
I can’t say anything to you
Can’t say anything to you
Life just tip-toes
Quietly goes around you
And I can’t say anything to you
Can’t say anything to you
I know you think I’m rude
But I wish you’d change your attitude
And I can’t say anything to you
Can’t say anything to you
You just pout and brood
And it puts me in the foulest mood
Pre-chorus:
And oh
The egg shells are white
And they’re breaking underneath my feet
The bombs are exploding
All around us as we speak
(Chorus)
And oh, it really makes me think
How low will you sink?
It’s a ship and we’re going over
Teetering on the brink
And oh, I wonder what you think
It’s enough to see a shrink
The world is falling at your feet, and you can’t see it
(Pre-chorus)
I wish I could say this to you
Wish I could break it
But you keep crying
You just keep crying
And I’m so sick and tired of trying
Lately you’ve been acting unsure
Of everything that we’ve worked for
I can’t speak for you but I think we can pull through
No, I cannot look ahead to see our future, but instead
I’ll stick to working presently on you
Chorus:
And if there’s a storm to weather
A storm to weather
I’ll weather it
I’ll weather it with you
If there’s a storm to weather
A storm to weather
I’ll weather it
I’ll weather it with you
Time and time again you ask, “Do you think it’s gonna last?”
I’m not gonna waste my time reassuring you
I would never lie to you, and no, I do not have a clue
And if you really think this through
There’s not much we can do
(Chorus)
You don’t know, no you don’t know how much you mean to me
And I just know, yeah, I just know that we are meant to be
