LGBT parenting refers to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people parenting one or more children. This includes children raised by same-sex couples (same-sex parenting), children raised by single LGBT parents, and children raised by an opposite-sex couple where at least one partner is LGBT.

LGBT people can become parents through various means including current or former relationships, coparenting, adoption, donor insemination, and surrogacy.

Scientific research has been generally consistent in showing that gay and lesbian parents are as fit and capable as heterosexual parents, and their children are as psychologically healthy and well-adjusted as children reared by heterosexual parents. Major associations of mental health professionals in the U.S., Canada, and Australia have not identified credible empirical research that suggests otherwise. Based on the robust nature of the evidence available in the field, Third District Court of Appeal State of Florida was satisfied in 2010 that the issue is so far beyond dispute that it would be irrational to hold otherwise; the best interests of children are not preserved by prohibiting homosexual adoption.

Todd Alsup is a New York City based pianist and singer-songwriter endorsed by Yamaha. He has been profiled in Billboard Magazine and Performing Songwriter and featured on MTV, PBS, and Sirius XM Radio. He has performed at the Songwriters Hall of Fame and toured throughout the United States and Switzerland. Alsup's style has been compared to John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Billy Joel, Ben Folds, Gavin Degraw, OneRepublic, and Rufus Wainwright. In November 2010 Alsup's song "How I'm Made" became a Top 12 Finalist in the 5th Annual Song Circle Contest in New York City. Past winners include Kate Voegele, Company of Thieves, and Mieka Pauley. Placing in the Top 5 , word of Alsup's talent reached legendary music industry blogger Bob Lefsetz. "If this record came out when I was in college everybody would know who Todd Alsup was", Lefsetz writes. "If you think this guy has no talent you know nothing".

In March 2012, Alsup was invited to perform at the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York City. It was hosted by stars Naya Rivera and Cory Monteith of the television show Glee. The following month he was invited by Yamaha to showcase alongside Vanessa Carlton, Jon McLaughlin, Lucy Schwartz, Landon Pigg, and Greg Sczebel at Yamaha's annual entertainment conference, hosted by the comedian Sinbad (entertainer).

Adam Carolla (born May 27, 1964) is an American radio personality, television host, comedian, and actor. He hosts The Adam Carolla Show, a talk show distributed as a podcast which set the record as the "most downloaded podcast" as judged by Guinness World Records.

Carolla co-hosted the syndicated radio call-in program Loveline from 1995 to 2005 as well as the show's television incarnation on MTV from 1996 to 2000. He was the co-host and co-creator of the television program The Man Show (1999–2004), and the co-creator and a regular performer on the television show Crank Yankers (2002–2007). He hosted The Adam Carolla Project, a home improvement television program which aired on TLC in 2005 and The Car Show on Speed TV in 2011.

Carolla has also appeared on the network reality television programs Dancing with the Stars and The Celebrity Apprentice. His book, In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks, debuted on The New York Times Best Seller list in 2010.

Carolla was born in Los Angeles, California. His father, Jim Carolla, a psychologist of Italian heritage, and his mother, Kris (née Novello), who is of Hungarian descent, separated when Adam was young. Carolla was not given a middle name; on his driver's license application he filled the "middle name" blank with "Lakers" (after his love for the Los Angeles Lakers professional basketball team) and the made-up name still appears on his license.

Alan Joseph Shatter (born 14 February 1951) is an Irish Fine Gael politician. He is a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin South constituency and has been the Minister for Justice and Equality and Minister for Defence since March 2011.

Shatter was born in Dublin to a Jewish family. He was educated at The High School, Dublin and Trinity College, Dublin. He has always lived in Dublin — he grew up in Rathgar and Rathfarnham and lives now in Ballinteer with his wife Carol and two children. He is the only Jewish member of Dáil Éireann.

He was first elected to the Dáil at the 1981 general election, and was re-elected at each subsequent election until he lost his seat at the 2002 general election. He was re-elected at the 2007 general election. Shatter was a member of Dublin County Council from 1991 to 1999 for the Rathfarnham area.

Having a legal background, Shatter has proposed much legislation during his time as a TD. While in opposition, he published more Private member's bills than any other TD had done previously. His bills were successful in making changes in areas such as health, sport and justice, with the government often amending bills that he brought forward and adopting them as their own. Even prior to becoming a member of the Oireachtas, Shatter satirised some of the measures inherent within a 1979 Family Planning bill in the form of his nationally published booklet, "Family Planning - Irish Style".
