An archipelago ( /ɑrkɨˈpɛləɡoʊ/ ark-i-PEL-ə-goh), sometimes called an island group, is a chain or cluster of islands. The word archipelago is derived from the Greek ἄρχι- – arkhi- ("chief") and πέλαγος – pélagos ("sea") through the Italian arcipelago. In Italian, possibly following a tradition of antiquity, the Arcipelago (from medieval Greek *ἀρχιπέλαγος) was the proper name for the Aegean Sea and, later, usage shifted to refer to the Aegean Islands (since the sea is remarkable for its large number of islands). It is now used to refer to any island group or, sometimes, to a sea containing a large number of scattered islands such as the Aegean Sea.
Archipelagos may be found isolated in bodies of water or neighboring a large land mass. For example, Scotland has more than 700 islands surrounding its mainland which constitute an archipelago. Archipelagos are often volcanic, forming along island arcs generated by subduction zones or hotspots, but may also be the result of erosion, deposition and land elevation.

One by one, they fell into the sea
The gleam extinguished; arduous future wait for me
Gravity; the deep pulls me under
Darkness fills me, and I gurgle as is sink
THE CLOUDS ABOVE ARE DARK, I CAN FEEL IT!
AS ARCHIPELAGO WANTS TO SWALLOW ME
MY BLOODSHOT EYEBALLS; MY PRESSURED LUNGS
MY LIFE; MY LIFE IS IT SLOWLY FADING!?
CONATION COMES IN WAVES; THEY TAKE YOU TO THE SHORE
RISE!
RISE!!
I'm in the Arichipelago and I'm waiting to arrive.
I'm in the Arichipelago and I know I'm still alive.
You finally told me where you had been thinking for so long.
And it breaks my heart wide open but I know that I'll be stronger next time.
So goodbye my love,
I'll miss it when it's gone.
Goodbye my love,
the ship is shipping on.
Goodbye my love,
I'll give it up into the fog.
Goodbye my love,
I think I knew it all along.
I'm in the Arichipelago and I'm waiting to arrive.

Goodbye my love,
I think I knew it all along.
I knew it all along.
Please, the ward he offers me a pack of cigarettes.
They aren't his, and yet I feel it coming on
I feel it coming on a sense of welling grief
And though they‘re serving samovar, somehow I'd rather be
Up in an airplane above the archipelago.
I stuttered in my armour in an airplane above the archipelago.
I could see where you grew up, and the murderer in me.
Please, the blanket and the sheets,
The leaves the gardener rakes are articles of faith.
The company believes I'm running derelict around these foreign streets.
The colonel knows I want to crack his head for taking me
Up in an airplane above the archipelago.
I stuttered in my armour in an airplane above the archipelago.
Now I see where you grew up, and the murderer in me.

Incidents of road rage warring on the streets below.
