Ashraf (Arabic: أشرف‎) refers to someone claiming descent from Muhammad by way of his daughter Fatimah. The word is the plural of sharīf "noble", from sharafa "to be highborn". Ashraf, if pronounced with long ā in the second syllable (أشراف /ašrāf/) is the plural of Sharif, but with short a (أشرف /ašraf/) is the intensive of sharīf meaning "very noble", "nobler", "noblest".

Like the Sada (plural of Sayyid), Ashraf often take their names from ancestry from Ali, Fatima and Muhammad and have in many Muslim societies Ashraf evolved into an honorific denoting "master" or "gentry". More precisely, the Ashraf are descendants of Ali's elder son, Hassan, and the Sadah those of Ali's younger son Hussain.

During the Abbasid period, the term was applied to all Ahl al-Bait, basically Muhammad's own family, including, for example, the descendants of Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiyya, of Ali's second wife and of the Hashemites. During the Fatimid Dynasty, the use of the term was restricted to the descendants of Hasan and Husayn only. This restriction remained in force even after Egypt became Sunni again under the Ayyubids.

Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai is a prominent politician in Afghanistan and the former chancellor of Kabul University. He is also the chairman of the Institute for State Effectiveness, an organization set up in 2005 to promote the ability of states to serve their citizens. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002, Ahmadzai was a leading scholar of political science and anthropology. He has worked at the World Bank for a number of years where he learned the tools of international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he set the path for Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery after the collapse of the Taliban. He is usually referred to as Ashraf Ghani, while Ahmadzai is the name of his Pashtun tribe.

Dr. Ghani is also a member of the Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor, an independent initiative hosted by the UNDP. In the 2009 presidential election, he was ranked fourth in the polls, behind the president Hamid Karzai, his main contender Dr. Abdullah, and Ramazan Bashardost.

David William Donald Cameron (pronunciation: /ˈkæmərən/; born 9 October 1966) is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, First Lord of the Treasury, Minister for the Civil Service and Leader of the Conservative Party. He represents Witney as its Member of Parliament (MP).

He was defeated in his first candidacy for Parliament at Stafford in 1997, but was elected in 2001 as the Member of Parliament for the Oxfordshire constituency of Witney. He was promoted to the Opposition front bench two years later, and rose rapidly to become head of policy co-ordination during the 2005 general election campaign. With a public image of a youthful, moderate candidate who would appeal to young voters, he won the Conservative leadership election in 2005.

Ashraf Sinclair (born 1979) is a Malaysian actor who is well known for his role as Eddy in the movie Gol & Gincu. He was born to a British father and a Malay mother^{[citation needed]}.

Sinclair was also known for being a host of Box Office Now that was once aired on ntv7. Aside from the movie Gol & Gincu, he also acted in Gol & Gincu The Series as well as Realiti which were aired on 8TV.

He has a sister by the name of Aishah Sinclair and a younger brother named Adam Sinclair. She is also involved in showbiz. Sinclair, with his sister, Aishah and one of his best friend, Sazzy Falak set up an entertainment company named SinclairFalak Sdn Bhd.

Sinclair married Indonesian singer Bunga Citra Lestari in November 2008. The couple met when he was hosting Beat TV and Bunga Citra Lestari was promoting her album in Malaysia back in April 2008. Photos of the couple kissing at the beach of Bali Island with Bunga wearing a bikini was widely spread on the internet and caused controversies. Sinclair later held a press conference to apologize to fans. Sinclair is now residing in Indonesia.

Bunga Citra Lestari (born March 22, 1983), also known as BCL, is an Indonesian pop singer and actress. She is known for her powerful singing voice.

Bunga started her career on television as a drama actress. The TV series that she has played were ABG, Senandung Masa Puber, Kala Cinta Menggoda, Penjaga Hati, and others. She later moved on as a singer and as a film actress.

Bunga started her music career in 2004 on a collaboration with PAS Band. She also recorded a single entitled "Saat Kau Pergi" for a soundtrack-album for film Dealova in 2005. Her debut album Cinta Pertama was released in 2006 with the hits singles, "Cinta Pertama" and "Aku Tak Mau Sendiri". Her first album was success and sold out 75,000 copies on the first week in Indonesia. This album raised up her name as a famous singer. She also starred her first film with the same title with her album, Cinta Pertama. This film also got then same success with her first studio album.

In 2007, Bunga starred her second film entitled Kangen. The soundtrack of this film was also taken from Bunga's first album, titled "Mengapa Harus Terjadi". At the end of 2007, she did a duet with Indonesian singer, Ari Lasso in a single titled "Aku dan Dirimu". From her collaboration with Ari Lasso, she won an award from Indonesian Music Awards (AMI) for "Best Pop Collaboration".
