Hank Brown
George Hanks "Hank" Brown (born February 12, 1940) is a former Republican politician and U.S. Senator from Colorado who served as president of the University of Colorado system from April 2005 to January 2008.
Education
Brown was born in Denver in 1940, and graduated from college in 1961 and from law school in 1969, both from the University of Colorado. Brown also has a master of law degree from George Washington University. At the former, he became a member of Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity.
Career
Military
Brown served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. He was an aviator and volunteered for service in Vietnam. He was decorated for his combat service as a forward air controller.
Politics
He served in the Colorado Senate from 1972 to 1976, and was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1980, serving until 1991. In 1990, he was elected to the United States Senate, where he served one term, not running again in the 1996 election. From 1998 to 2002, he was president of the University of Northern Colorado. Brown and his wife, Nan, live in Denver.

Brown is the color of dark wood or rich soil. Brown is a composite color; in printing or painting, brown is made by combining red, black and yellow, or red, yellow and blue. In the RGB color model used to make colors on television screens and computer monitors, brown is made by combining red and green, in specific proportions. The brown color is seen widely in nature, in wood, soil, and human hair color, eye color and skin pigmentation. In Europe and the United States, brown is the color most often associated with plainness, humility, the rustic, and poverty. Brown is also, according to public opinion surveys in Europe and the United States, the least favorite color of the public.

Kiki Smith
Kiki Smith (born January 18, 1954) is a German-born American artist. Her work has addressed the themes of birth and regeneration. Her figurative work of the late 1980s and early 1990s clashed with cultural taboos surrounding bodily functions. Her earlier pieces confronted subjects such as AIDS, gender and race, while recent works have depicted the human condition in relationship to nature. Smith lives and works in the Lower East Side neighborhood of New York City.
Early life and education
Smith’s father was artist Tony Smith and her mother was actress and opera singer Jane Lawrence.
Kiki Smith grew up in South Orange, New Jersey and attended Columbia High School. She studied baking and also trained as an emergency medical technician. She was enrolled at Hartford Art School in Connecticut for eighteen months from 1974-75. She moved to New York City in 1976
Work
Smith was an active member of the artists' group Colab in the late 1970s and early 1980s.She works in a variety of media including sculpture, printmaking, drawing and jewelry. Smith has employed timely political and social content in her work, and has developed a unique lineage of mythological imagery over the course of her 40-year art practice.

#SANDY is a book of iPhone Photos of Hurricane Sandy by acclaimed photographers to be published by Daylight Books in October 2014. 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to Occupy Sandy to support their rebuilding efforts in the New York City area. Last October 2012, Hurricane Sandy devastated communities in the New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut areas. In response, Foley Gallery and photographer Wyatt Gallery organized an exhibition of iPhone photographs of the storm by acclaimed documentary and fine art photographers. Hundreds of people attended the one night event and almost 400 photographs were purchased. We were able to donate $19,000 in sales to Occupy Sandy and Third Wave Volunteers. As the first year anniversary approaches, many residents are still struggling to regain normal living conditions. In order to remind the public that people are still in need of assistance and to raise money to support rebuilding efforts, we are producing this groundbreaking book. Henry Chief Curator Elizabeth Brown and acclaimed artist Kiki Smith present a special lecture inaugurating the exhibition I Myself Have Seen It: Photography and Kiki Smith, on view in the North Galleries from March 5, 2010 - August 15, 2010. This exhibition explores a number of distinct ways photographs play a central role in Smith’s aesthetic and the creation of her art. The lecture took place on March 4th, 2010 at Kane Hall on the University of Washington Campus.

Last October 2012, Hurricane Sandy devastated communities in the New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut areas. In response, Foley Gallery and photographer Wyatt Gallery organized an exhibition of iPhone photographs of the storm by acclaimed documentary and fine art photographers. Hundreds of people attended the one night event and almost 400 photographs were purchased. We were able to donate $19,000 in sales to Occupy Sandy and Third Wave Volunteers.
As the first year anniversary approaches, many residents are still struggling to regain normal living conditions. In order to remind the public that people are still in need of assistance and to raise money to support rebuilding efforts, we are producing this groundbreaking book.

I mean, I'm all for improving the comments system, putting the comments that are most relevant to me right on top, but why does YouTube need anything but YouTube to do that? I was recently watching fellow-YouTuber Hank Green's take on all this nonsense, and while I agree with the general seething sentiment of his video, there was one thing he said that is so wrong it makes the baby Jesus cry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1rLnzpb0iM
Now, he's right that there's nothing we can do in the short term to make YouTube change course, but if we play a long game we can absolutely chip away at Google's ability to bully its users. The only reason a video sharing website is in a position to strong-arm its users into adopting a particular social network is because they have a monopoly. If there was another video site with even 5% market share, YouTube would think twice. It's time to start giving other video sites a chance. I'm not saying that we should stop using YouTube per se, but I, for example, from this day forward will also be uploading my content to Vimeo and DailyMotion--links in the description. I will also, from this day forward, be attempting a new moneymaking model for pogobat, because who needs ads!? Especially when YouTube takes a 45% cut anyway! Shit's ridiculous. Utkarsh from Mumbai: The Dark Knight movies are badass. I can totally see where you would be inspired by them and am totally flattered that you're drawing parallels between them and my videos. But the reason Bruce Wayne is able to be Batman is because of how filthy rich he is. I'm sure you see this in Mumbai: the distribution of wealth on this planet is all kinds of out of whack and I don't know that Batman is really helping with that. I think she pretty accurately sums up the way we all feel about Google trying to force their failed social network down our throats. I mean, I'm all for improving the comments system, putting the comments that are most relevant to me right on top, but why does YouTube need anything but YouTube to do that? Like, why can't they use who I'm subscribed to rather than some social network nobody has time for? Honestly, I'm a little creeped out. I was recently watching fellow-YouTuber Hank Green's take on all this nonsense, and while I agree with the general seething sentiment of his video, there was one thing he said that is so wrong it makes the baby Jesus cry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1rLnzpb0iM
Now, he's right that there's nothing we can do in the short term to make YouTube change course, but if we play a long game we can absolutely chip away at Google's ability to bully its users. The only reason a video sharing website is in a position to strong-arm its users into adopting a particular social network is because they have a monopoly. If there was another video site with even 5% market share, YouTube would think twice. It's time to start giving other video sites a chance. I'm not saying that we should stop using YouTube per se, but I, for example, from this day forward will also be uploading my content to Vimeo and DailyMotion--links in the description. I will also, from this day forward, be attempting a new moneymaking model for pogobat, because who needs ads!? Especially when YouTube takes a 45% cut anyway! Shit's ridiculous. Utkarsh from Mumbai: The Dark Knight movies are badass. I can totally see where you would be inspired by them and am totally flattered that you're drawing parallels between them and my videos. But the reason Bruce Wayne is able to be Batman is because of how filthy rich he is. I'm sure you see this in Mumbai: the distribution of wealth on this planet is all kinds of out of whack and I don't know that Batman is really helping with that. They're fun movies, but in the real world leaning on high-powered billionaires doesn't keep us safer. Time and again they prove that their only priority is staying rich and powerful. #SANDY is a book of iPhone Photos of Hurricane Sandy by acclaimed photographers to be published by Daylight Books in October 2014. 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to Occupy Sandy to support their rebuilding efforts in the New York City area. Last October 2012, Hurricane Sandy devastated communities in the New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut areas. In response, Foley Gallery and photographer Wyatt Gallery organized an exhibition of iPhone photographs of the storm by acclaimed documentary and fine art photographers. Hundreds of people attended the one night event and almost 400 photographs were purchased. We were able to donate $19,000 in sales to Occupy Sandy and Third Wave Volunteers. I think she pretty accurately sums up the way we all feel about Google trying to force their failed social network down our throats. I mean, I'm all for improving the comments system, putting the comments that are most relevant to me right on top, but why does YouTube need anything but YouTube to do that? Like, why can't they use who I'm subscribed to rather than some social network nobody has time for? Honestly, I'm a little creeped out. The multinational intelligence conglomerate that is Google doesn't just want us to act in a very specific way--it's like they feel entitled, they're offended that we might choose to not live in the digital bubble they've made for us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMChO0qNbkY
I was recently watching fellow-YouTuber Hank Green's take on all this nonsense, and while I agree with the general seething sentiment of his video, there was one thing he said that is so wrong it makes the baby Jesus cry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1rLnzpb0iM
Now, he's right that there's nothing we can do in the short term to make YouTube change course, but if we play a long game we can absolutely chip away at Google's ability to bully its users. The only reason a video sharing website is in a position to strong-arm its users into adopting a particular social network is because they have a monopoly. If there was another video site with even 5% market share, YouTube would think twice. It's time to start giving other video sites a chance. I'm not saying that we should stop using YouTube per se, but I, for example, from this day forward will also be uploading my content to Vimeo and DailyMotion--links in the description. I will also, from this day forward, be attempting a new moneymaking model for pogobat, because who needs ads!? Especially when YouTube takes a 45% cut anyway! Shit's ridiculous. Pogobat is now ad-free in hopes that you'll support my endeavors via Patreon, which is like Kickstarter for recurring things so rather than giving, like, twenty five bucks to a project once, you give, like, a twenty five cent tip each time I make a new episode. RAISE OURSELVES... how? i believe big steps need to be taken... but first we need to get better...

But the reason Bruce Wayne is able to be Batman is because of how filthy rich he is. I'm sure you see this in Mumbai: the distribution of wealth on this planet is all kinds of out of whack and I don't know that Batman is really helping with that. They're fun movies, but in the real world leaning on high-powered billionaires doesn't keep us safer. Time and again they prove that their only priority is staying rich and powerful. So yes, we must raise ourselves... RAISE OURSELVES... by passing progressive tax policies and raising the minimum wage.
