Civilisations May behave like Slime Moulds, devouring the Agar Plate they grow over, but Slime Moulds, or their Spores, are about the most complex Organism capable of travelling through Space, to begin Life on any other Planet the Rock the Spores are sitting on happens to land on... At a time when the Industrialised World lacks the Financial Capital & Political Willpower to fix the Pot-Holes in the Roads, or conduct Research to identify new Antibiotics, let alone reverse Deforestation & Desertifification & Soil-Salinity & Species Extinction & Atmospheric Carbon Emissions, Greenhouse Effect, & Global Warming, & Extreme Weather Events...; it appears to me to be Psychotically deluded, to want to waste Lifetime attempting to raise Interest, let alone Funding, to try to build a "Starship"... The Solar System already IS an Intergenerational Starship...; the problem is that 500 Generations ago, a segment of the Crew went mad.... They decided to dig up the Waste-Into-Food & Water Recycling System, then they cut down the down the Air-Recycling System to obtain the Fuel with which to light Fires, the beuer to melt the Food/Water Recyclers, to manufacture Shiny Jewelery, with which to trade & build an Economy whithin which they hoped to work their arseholes off, to thus make themselves filthy rich... Before he was "found dead, drowned in a Bathtub, in Crab Position..." in an Indonesian Drug Rehabilitation Centre, @DerivedEnergy asked me to expand, & unpack, via a Video, a Comment I'd made on a Thread, to the effect that Bacteria or Viruses might well Colonise other Worlds, but that Civilisations never would... Better Late Than Never...
