Toninho Horta (born December 2, 1948) is an electric and nylon-string guitar player working in a style of jazz-influenced Brazilian music. Compositions in his personal style are marked by sophisticated harmonic progressions and complex melodies. In performed arrangements of his own pieces he often features driving, strummed guitar rhythms.
In addition to composing and performing his own work, Horta has worked for many years as and arranger or sideman for many important Brazilian artists, such as Elis Regina, Milton Nascimento, Maria Bethania, João Bosco, Airto Moreira, Edu Lobo, Nana Caymmi, Flora Purim, Gal Costa, Sérgio Mendes, Chico Buarque, Flávio Venturini, Joyce, Johnny Alf, Wagner Tiso, Francis Hime and Beto Guedes. He was an original member of the famous and highly influential Clube da Esquina musical collective in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais which included Milton Nascimento, Lô Borges, Fernando Brant, Márcio Borges, and Wagner Tiso, which recorded the legendary recording called Clube da Esquina.
Horta may refer to:
Fernando Rocha Brant (October 9, 1946 – June 12, 2015) was a Brazilian poet, lyricist and journalist, born in Caldas, Minas Gerais.
Brant's interest in music and literature began to increase while he studied law at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
At the beginning of the 1960s, Brant made friends with Milton Nascimento who soon became his creative partner and encouraged him to write his first lyrics, "Travessia". The song won the second place in the II Festival International da Canção (International Song Festival) in Rio de Janeiro in 1967. In the same year, "Travessia" was included in Nascimento's first album and became one of the better known songs in his repertoire.
In 1969 Brant got a job as a journalist in O Cruzeiro magazine affiliate in Belo Horizonte. That same year, in Belo Horizonte, Brant and friends began articulating a project that would become Clube da Esquina, an influential Brazilian music artists collective.
His partnership with Milton Nascimento resulted in over 200 songs recorded by the most respected artists in Brazil.
Nelson Faria (March 23, 1963 in Belo Horizonte) is a Brazilian guitar player.
Started his guitar lessons with Sidney Barros (Gamela) in Brasilia. At the age of 19 moved to Los Angeles and studied at the G.I.T. (Guitar Institute of Technology) with Frank Gambale, Joe Pass and Scott Henderson. He has played and recorded with João Bosco, Ivan Lins, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Lisa Ono, Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo, Cássia Eller, Jerzy Milewski, Paulo Moura, Toninho Horta, Antonio Adolfo, Carlos Malta, Fatima Guedes, Leila Pinheiro, Nivaldo Ornelas, Ana Caram, Mauricio Einhorn, Nico Assumpção, Gustavo Tavares and Wagner Tiso, among others, and is part of Nosso Trio.
Nelson has played at the most important jazz festivals around the world, including Montreux Jazz Festival, Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreal International Jazz Festival.
Milton Nascimento (Portuguese pronunciation: [miwˈtõ nasiˈmẽtu]; born October 26, 1942, Rio de Janeiro,Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a prominent Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist.
Nascimento's mother, Maria Nascimento, was a maid. As a baby, Milton Nascimento was adopted by a couple who were his mother's former employers; Josino Brito Campos, a bank employee, mathematics teacher and electronic technician and Lília Silva Campos, a music teacher and choir singer. When he was 18 months old, Nascimento's biological mother died, and he moved with his adopted parents to the city of Três Pontas, in the state of Minas Gerais.
Nascimento was an occasional DJ on a radio station that his father once ran. He lived in the boroughs of Laranjeiras and Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro.
In the early stages of his career, Nascimento played in two samba groups, Evolussamba and Sambacana. In 1963, he moved to Belo Horizonte, where his friendship with Lô Borges led to the Clube da Esquina ("corner club") movement. Members included Beto Guedes, Toninho Horta, Wagner Tiso, and Flávio Venturini, with whom he shared compositions and melodies. One composition was "Canção do Sal", which was first interpreted by Elis Regina in 1966 and led to a television appearance with Nascimento. The collective, as well as some others, released Clube da Esquina in 1972. Several hit singles were also released.

Deinesgleichen I'm Leben und I'm Sterben,
In jeder Stunde, I'm Kampf und bis zum Tod,
