Ross Copperman (born 1982) is an American singer-songwriter. He's perhaps most well known for his song "All She Wrote" which was released in the UK in the beginning of 2007.
Ross Copperman was born on October 1, 1982 and grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. He attended Glenvar High School in Roanoke County.
Ross started playing the piano at age 3, and started writing songs in college at James Madison University. The first song he wrote is titled "Fly Away", and it appears on his studio debut album. He says that it was only after the urging of his teacher (who had listened to this song) that he was convinced to take up music professionally.
While in college, Ross opened a show for Phil Vassar in front of a crowd of 5000.[citation needed] After winning a few competitions, Copperman earned a 40-date US college tour.
He toured the US for around a year and tried selling his independent album "Believe", and eventually succeeded in doing so with Phonogenic/RCA records.[citation needed]
The first single he released in the UK, "As I Choke", managed to be the most popular iTunes Single Of The Week in the UK, notching up 36,457 downloads in a one-week period.

I'm standing here and hoping for you
Holding my door open for you now
Ask just what you will of me
I'll bend just like a willow tree
And now I'm holdin'
Holdin' my door open to the wind
Well seven times she came to me
And each time seemed the same to me
She knows just what to ask me now
And I can't help but wonder how
And now I'm holdin'
Holdin' my door open before the wind
I wrote my name upon the sands
With questioningly weary hands
The tide arose and answered me
And washed my name into the sea
And now I'm holdin'
Holding back the years
Thinking of the fear I've had so long
When somebody hears
Listen to the fear that's gone
Strangled by the wishes of pater
Hoping for the arms of mater
Get to me the sooner or later
Holding back the years
Chance for me to escape from all I've known
Holding back the tears
Cause nothing here has grown
I've wasted all my tears
Wasted all those years
And nothing had the chance to be good
Nothing ever could yeah
I'll keep holding on
I'll keep holding on
I'll keep holding on
I'll keep holding on
So tight
I've wasted all my tears
Wasted all of those years
And nothing had the chance to be good
Cause nothing ever could oh yeah
I'll keep holding on
I'll keep holding on
I'll keep holding on
I'll keep holding on
Holding, holding, holding
That's all I have today
You're holding my life in your hands
shaping me into Your plans
You're twisting and turning my heart 'til it's yearning
for more
Your ways are consuming my thoughts
'til the world that's around me is lost
it's twisted and turning around but i'm learning more
i fight for a long time, then find myself crying for
shelter
but You catch me with false arms
before i ever hit the ground
i'm holding Your grace in my heart
nothing shall tear us apart
no twisting or turning could cover this yearning
or burn this light into dark
