Neon Trees is an American alternative rock band from Provo, Utah, with origins in Murrieta, California. The band received nationwide exposure in late 2008 when they opened several North American tour dates for the band The Killers. Not long after, the band was signed by Mercury Records and released their first full length album, Habits, in 2010. Their first single "Animal" climbed to #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Alternative rock Chart.
Formed initially by neighbors Tyler Glenn (vocals, keyboards) and Chris Allen (guitar, vocals) the band made its first home in Provo, eventually adding Branden Campbell (bass guitar, vocals) and Elaine Bradley (drums, percussion, vocals) to the lineup. David Charles also plays with the band as touring guitarist. They first started playing under the name Neon Trees in late 2005 with five original members. The band's name originates from the lighted trees on the In-N-Out Burger signs, which inspired Tyler Glenn. In a strange twist of fate, it was later learned that Branden Campbell's father, who designed neon lights in Las Vegas, helped design the very lights that inspired Glenn. The band is well-known throughout Provo and Salt Lake City, Utah, where it was formed. All four members of Neon Trees are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

When her family returned to Oregon, Harper remained in the New York City area to study ballet. She has an older sister, Leah; a younger brother, Don (originally Merrill); and a half-sister, Virginia, from her father's second marriage. I had the right to sublurr, because they ache one stick
I saw five to six million but, yo, that ain't really shit.
It was supposed to be different, we were supposed to write out,
But tumach shot his girl, then shot himself in the mouth.
Then the steady game form very soon fell apart,
‘cause when you just doing all, the loyalty in your heart,
Slight catch a long hymn on all these niggers forgetting where they're coming from
And they're slowing down, wait a minute, what we're running from?
This what we're supposed to do, here's where we're supposed to be,
I hated MTV for trying to play me like a mockery.
But that don't bother me, I just fulfill my fucking contract,
Small price to pay just to take a piece of my back.
My back, backfire, assassination of my character,
Just demassing me in the America.
My younger sister, Erika, just adopted a child,
My older brother served fifteen, he made it out.
Even though my father loved me, I ain't seen him for a while.
Had to fight my baby, bitch, give me my nigger now.
‘cause I'm running out of time and I need him to understand
The way a superior man had build a brand
Niggers talk about my taxes, had to pay, I consemn,
I'm surviving ‘cause the lines ass crooked in the hand.
Heartbreak, disappointment, my mother died when I was nine, I just wanted to join her.
Now I miss to join her, get to California, I got something for you to do, it was like I was annoying
Resurrected, found my purpose, I remember being dragged, being nervous when I would kick my verses.
I was virtually worthless, my whole life was a circus,
I was sleeping with serpents and I thought it is worth it.
Got a call from Paul, told me shit isn't working,
Exchange words, told me tell me that shit in person.
He probably told him, and by the way did he said it on a prolijetic twisted made about him.
I see Slim and he said he didn't recognize me,
Was it that or did he let another man to find me?
I don't know, but now I gotta get this all behind me,
Follow my calling when I used to follow niggers blindly.
I wish I had a better relationship with my uncles,
Blood relatives I could turn to when I'm feeling trouble.
And talk about my struggles.
My uncle John Nail, he only put me on the phone with different females.
And this is such a such, nephew, tell me, what's up?
Ain't even ask about your man in Cali, growing up.
Fuck, I drink it all and I smash the bottle,
Self medicated numb, but imma feel it tomorrow.
It feel like pain and sorrow was like a second skin
But now that pain was gone I got my second win.
Only the strong live long, you better settle in,
I'm fighting for ever, I will never let the devil win.
1983, that's when my journey begins,
I searched every word for stritting, only find it within.
This for me and my kid, still trying to live
I've these dreams of walking home
Home where it used to be
And everything is as it was
Frozen in front of me
Here I stand 6 feet small
Romanticizing years ago
But it's a bitter sweet feeling hearing
Wrapped around your finger on the radio
And these days
I wish I was 6 again
Oh make me a red cape
I wanna be Superman
Oh, if only my life was more like 1983
All these things would be more like
They were at the start of me
Had it made in 83
Thinking bout my brother Ben
I miss him every day
He looks just like his brother John
But on an 18 month delay
Here I stand 6 feet small
And smiling cause I'm scared as hell
Kind of like my life is like a sequel to a movie
Where the actor's names have changed, oh well
Well these days
I wish I was 6 again
Oh make me a red cape
I wanna be Superman
Oh, if only my life was more like 1983
All these things would be more like
They were at the start of me
If my life was more like 1983
Plot a course to the source of the purest little part of me
And most of my memories
Have escaped me or confused themselves with dreams
If heaven's all we want it to be
Send your prayers to me, care of 1983
You can paint that house a rainbow of colors
Rip out the floorboards replace the shutters
But that's my plastic in the dirt
Whatever happened to my, whatever happened to my
Whatever happened to my lunch box
When came the day that it got thrown away
And don't you think I should have had some say in that decision
If only my life, if only my life
If only my life, if only my life
If only my life, if only my life
When we were kids, our dreams were invincible,
When we were young, our whole lives ahead of us,
And it was well understood we'd all become astronauts,
And firemen,
Let's not pretend, we all become famous,
Let's not pretend, there's more to this then we hoped for,
For we knew the rules when we were still children,
You blow it,
You fail it,
Disappointment.
It's well on it's way, well understood,
And you have a place, to be (when we were young),
Time on our hands,
Still out of our hands, just like rain (it rained so hard),
Time ran away, and left us afraid,
Your parents are proud,
You've got everything,
No passion at hand,
You'll be Ivy League,
It's more probable,
We all become salesmen,
You know it,
You fear it,
Mediocrity.
It's well on it's way, well understood,
And this is your life,
Don't apoligize for what you are,
Because you're a star.
I hope you find contentment,
I pray you find an answer,
'cause life is better than your occupation,
Revelation.
When we (when we were young) were,
Time on our hands,
Still out of our hands,
Just like rain (it rained so hard)
Summer days 15 years old
Rodney’s on the radio
The RTD and a pack of cloves
Oh Oh oo Oh oo Oh Oh Oh
And girls in death rock pantyhose
Junes are cloudy in L.A.
All the city’s shades of gray
The air is warm with ocean spray
Oh Oh oo Oh oo Oh Oh Oh
And morning seems to last all day
And if I should die
In the meantime
Take me home
To those days
When the world
Still really shone
Come on Baby ride with me
We’ll take the bus down to the sea
Go swimming in the morning light
Oh Oh oo Oh oo Oh Oh Oh
And lose the memories of last night
Goonies never say die!
Shouting at the devil!
And 99 hot air balloons!
Unknown to you, what planet are you from?
Maiden had the trooper, Ramones had psycho therapy
While Bryan, he just cuts like a knife,
Do you remember E.T. trying to phone home
While Ronald introduced MC Nuggets to the whole wide world...
I just can't explain, how it feels to live in 1983
Yeah, I wonder who's to blame, for MTV, the goonies and atari!
Slayer showed no mercy
While Bad Religion went 'into the unknown'.
And Bowie wanted to dance...
Michael thrilled the planet and Chesney Hawkes,
I loved that guy, I'm telling you 'he was the one and only'!
Sweet Dreams were made of this,
I'll hold a special place when ZZ TOP
Were sharp dressed men and begging us for love...
I just can't explain, how it feels to live in 1983
Yeah, I wonder who's to blame, for MTV, the goonies and atari!
I think we're alone now... tonight...
I don't wanna go home now... not tonight...
We had Bronski Beat and Megadeth,
Run DMC began to rap
And John Bon Jovi started up a band
Metallica had 'kill 'em all'
Exploited sang 'let's start a war'
And Sting was counting 'every breath you took'...
How come all the bands forget
The days when music was a threat?
Why can't it be '83?
So many bands I wanna see
Misfits put out Earth AD
And Bad Brains still banned in DC?
People just don't understand
There's nothing like the 80's man
Son las seis
sale el sol detrás del vidrio
y las calles ya se llenan
sin mirar lo puedo ver
es tu cara son tus ojos
ya no encuentras la salida
Te sientes sola en esta realidad
bajo, bajo, bajo las horas
que te quitan para amar
Y nos dijeron que mejorará
No hay final es la verdad
sólo tú púedes cambiar
esta vidad que te mata
Te sientes sola
bajo las horas
Y nos dijeron que mejorará
al menos debes saber
tu vidad vale mucho más en mí
Muchos más están así
ya no creas en la historia
que nos cuentan cada día
Te despierta el matinal
todo el día trabajar
y te duermes con un estelar
Te sientes sola
bajo las horas
Y nos dijeron que mejorará
al menos debes saber
tu vida vale mucho más en mí
Al menos debes saber
ya no hay duda
tu vida vale mucho más en mí (x3)
I've been here,
Lookin' dynamite
Alone against the wall
Girls like you give it out so cold
Talkin' cheap in a bathroom stall.
And you look so smooth,
You better tell me the truth,
Would you trade me out for someone cool?
I know you better than you do,
So put out your cigarette
And kiss me on the lips tonight.
Me and you,
You and me,
Let's go back
Let's go back
1983 is calling.
I've been on my knees and crawling
Back to you,
It's coming all back to me.
1983
I've got somethin' that I've kept inside,
And the blood is on the blade.
You're there suckin' on your lollipop,
Like you haven't aged a day,
And it ain't so pretty
When you're playin' cute
When your body's up against some fool.
Does he feel it?
'Cuase I feel it.
Me and you,
You and me,
Let's go back
Let's go back
1983 is calling
I've been on my knees and crawling
Back to you
It's coming all back to me
1983
The year I was born,
I won't be ignored.
So get your feet on the floor
I'm the only one, are you afraid?
I still make you move.
Me and you
You and me
Let's go back to 1983
Me and you
You and me
Let's go back to 1983
Me and you,
You and me,
Let's go back
Let's go back
1983 is calling
I've been on my knees and crawling
Back to you
It's coming all back to me
1983
Me and you,
You and me,
Let's go back
Let's go back
1983 is calling
I've been on my knees and crawling
Back to you
It's coming all back to me
1983
1983
I've been meaning to tell you, the operation went horribly wrong.
I've been waiting for an inspiration, to be oh so fulfilled.
Let's commence the socializing.
That's when it all began.
And on this day, I pray for you.
Who could last through the evening without fearing the spill?
I'll wait for it now, yeah I'll wait for it now.
I'm lifeless on the table.
Have you seen my right wing?
I might have lost it in the crash of 1983.
It would be a waste to feel regret, at the pace of your half lit cigarette.
I'll give chase to the guiding flashlights! Tonight! Tonight!
I'm hoping to see you soon; I'm hoping to see you soon.
Tonight is the night!
Let's cut to the basics, over and out boys over and out, it's crystal clear.
You can't face it, face it, over and out boys over and out. Crystal clear!
There's a piercing figure at my window it's come earlier than most thought,
