Prakash (Saif Ali Khan) is a handsome gold digger who thinks he has made it when he woos and subsequently marries Sapna (Sonali Bendre) , only daughter of a rich businessman Mr. Chopra (Dalip Tahil) . However his euphoria is short-lived when he learns that his father-in-law disapproves of him immensely and won't let him make his mark in the business . Finally , Prakash asks Mr.Chopra for some money to start a business of his own but Mr. Chopra refuses . One night , two masked men try to rob Prakash and he places a plan before the duo : they will kidnap Sapna and demand ransom from Mr. Chopra , which will be equally shared between Prakash and the two kidnappers - Rahul (Fardeen Khan) and Harry (Aftab Shivdasani) . Rahul and Harry have a little secret of their own : they are not professional criminals as they pretend to be . Rahul is an unemployed graduate , while Harry is a loafer . Rahul is in love with his landlord's daughter Anjali (Twinkle Khanna) and needs the money to convince her father for their marriage .

Satish wants his only son, Chander, to be physically fit and join the army. While Satish is protecting the life of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, he is killed by three men; his wife goes insane, and his son is brought up by the local I.G.. Now Chander has grown up and has joined the army as a Commando. The Commander of his company, Mirza is corrupt and is protecting the interests of international criminal don, Marcelloni, by stealing arms and ammunitions. Chander attempts to bring this to the attention of the owner of the arms depot, Kailashpuri Malhotra, who disbelieves him. But Mr. Malhotra's daughter, Asha believes him, as well as loves him, and she along with Jhum Jhum, and Dilher Singh try to expose what's going on. Chander also finds out that the three men who killed his dad also belong to this gang, but then Marcelloni abducts Asha, and uses Chander as a pawn to get what he wants - spread nationwide terror.

For the better part of the last two years, a federal inspector general tasked with overseeing a tiny, obscure agency in Alaska, did next to nothing—while raking in a government salary from his remote office in Phoenix, Arizona. Mike Marsh, the former IG and one-man-band, who was in charge of auditing the Denali Commission, an economic-development agency in rural Alaska, conducted 12 inspections and issued six audit reports between 2011 and 2013. Six. And that’s with the help of outside contractors. That’s according to a new report by the Government Accountability Office, which was asked by the Alaskan congressional delegation to audit the auditor’s work between this two-year timeframe. The GAO audit was conducted after Marsh had resigned from his post last December. An additional district and sessions court on Saturday directed the police to register an FIR against the prime minister, Punjab chief minister, deputy inspector general of police operations and 18 others, including politicians and police officials, in the deaths of 14 Pakistan Awami Tehreek activists in June. The party workers clashed with police outside the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat in Model Town on June 17. Judge Raja Muhammad Ajmal Khan ordered SHO Faisal Town to register the FIR after petitioner’s counsel Mansoorur Rehman Khan Afridi claimed the Joint Investigation Team’s report is being concealed by the Punjab government. Afridi challenged police officials’ claims that they had been injured during the incident. While footage of Gullu Butt smashing the window panes of vehicles outside the secretariat was aired on television, the JIT report did not mention the vandalism in its report. “The Punjab government has posted a ‘Gullu Butt’ in each department,” Afridi said. District public prosecutor Malik Azhar argued that PAT workers should have cooperated with the JIT investigation and recorded their statements, instead of ignoring repeated requests to appear before the judicial tribunal. He claimed that PAT workers used tear gas against the police. During previous proceedings, the judge sought a progress report from the JIT; he was informed that on July 5, 690 police officials joined an investigation into the incident in Model Town. The petitioner, Director Administration Minhaj-ul-Quran International Muhammad Jawad Hamid, had claimed that the police seemed reluctant to register a case against those accused by the PAT. Hamid claimed that on the night of June 16, he was present at the secretariat along with Hafiz Muhammad Waqas and Muhammad Tayyab Zia Noorani when he discovered a large number of police personnel stationed outside Dr Qadri’s residence, armed with weapons and bringing bulldozers and cranes with them.
