Drama Fierce as the Untamed North!
Alaska (i/əˈlæskə/) is the largest state in the United States by area. It is situated in the northwest extremity of the North American continent, with Canada to the east, the Arctic Ocean to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the west and south, with Russia further west across the Bering Strait. Alaska is the 4th least populous and the least densely populated of the 50 United States. Approximately half of Alaska's 722,718 residents live within the Anchorage metropolitan area.
Alaska was purchased from Russia on March 30, 1867, for $7.2 million ($120 million in today's[when?] dollars) at approximately two cents per acre ($4.74/km²). The land went through several administrative changes before becoming an organized (or incorporated) territory on May 11, 1912, and the 49th state of the U.S. on January 3, 1959.
The name "Alaska" (Аляска) was already introduced in the Russian colonial period, when it was used only for the peninsula and is derived from the Aleut alaxsxaq, meaning "the mainland" or, more literally, "the object towards which the action of the sea is directed". It is also known as Alyeska, the "great land", an Aleut word derived from the same root.
And once again we'll be as one with the Earth
Far from the scorched pyramids
Our Sunday slippers, Mum there's no kippers in the freeze
And once again we'll be as one with the Earth
Far from our catastrophic crimes
I'll be back with you before I die
And once again we'll be at home with Alaska
Next time you see her cruel face
Why don't you get around to ask her?
She'll hurt you with her smile
We'll suffer her just for a while
And once again we'll be at home with the Earth
Next time you see her cruel face
Why don't you ask her?
Why don't you ask her?
Well how're the mountains off the harbor?
And how far are you from shore?
And when your ship
Oh when your ship comes into port
Would you call?
Oh would you call?
In that cabin in Montana
Was that donkey getting drunk?
Well it's been hell back here in Philadelphia, yeah
And York ain't what it was
Now you know grandpa's washing dishes
He does it when he can
Trying to get this fire started
And I could really use a hand
The dog is barking out back
He thinks he's in the band
Trying to get this fire started
And I could really use a hand
You know I dreamt where
We're at the station
And you asked me if you could go
You know I never really had the chance
To say no
Well it's night time in Alaska
I hear it's dark until the spring
Well it's been hell back here in Philadelphia, yeah
And York ain't what it was
Now you know grandpa's washing dishes
He does it when he can
Trying to get this fire started
And I could really use a hand
The dog is barking out back
He thinks he's in the band
Trying to get this fire started
And I could really use a hand
Well I dreamt where
We're at the station
And you asked me if you could go
You know I never really had the chance
Oh no
You smell like burning luggage, lighting fires on the
hillsides, you remind me of Alaska and other places that
I've been to, but I've been swimming in the noises of all
these other people, trying to hold it all together and
pretend like everything's like normal. But, I'm down,
what do you want from me? Don't you know what counts? You
sound like falling airplanes and you scream at me to
watch you, as you fall through stained-glass windows into
other peoples houses, but my knees are weak, my knees are
weak. And I'm down, what do you want from me? Don't you
I don't want to move to alaska
I won't marry you there or any place
this country life you've been talking about
won't fancy your much too pretty face
oh, alaska
I won't be seeing that soon
you can go without me
and do whatever you want to
in time I'd surely grow lonesome
you would no doubt become bored
desperate for company other than mine
and luxuries I can't afford
oh, alaska
I won't be seeing that soon
you can go without me
and do whatever you want to
it might have been a nicer place to be
if you'd been nicer to me
oh, alaska
I won't be seeing that soon
you can go without me
and do whatever you want to
do whatever you want to
I don't want to move to alaska
I won't marry you there or any place
this country life you've been talking about
won't fancy your much too pretty face
oh, alaska
I won't be seeing that soon
you can go without me
and do whatever you want to
in time I'd surely grow lonesome
you would no doubt become bored
desperate for company other than mine
and luxuries I can't afford
oh, alaska
I won't be seeing that soon
you can go without me
and do whatever you want to
it might have been a nicer place to be
if you'd been nicer to me
oh, alaska
I won't be seeing that soon
you can go without me
and do whatever you want to
do whatever you want to
do whatever you want to do
The road is dry
I'm fucking delirious right now
life goes on
glorious evening of nodding and jump starts
I need to make a personal dance party
The brain works very weird at this hour
not the best time for lyrics I suppose
keep writing, keep dreaming
keep writing, keep dreaming
keep writing, keep dreaming
Nope, can't be awake and dream, drift in and out, in and out
eye motions
in out
heat lightning, scares us both
the only two people awake at this fucking hour
I won't remember this in the morning
at least I wrote it all down
please pick the right song
the one that keeps the eyes wide
creepy!
creepy!
creepy!
yes, creepy
the idea of control
controlling death with alertness
when is the fucking sun coming up
the idea of control
yes, creepy
controlling death with alertness
controlling death with alertness
Then it all changes, same scenery but sun involved
shouldn't be much different
ALASKA!!
ALASKA!!
Then it all changes, same scenery but sun involved
shouldn't be much different
ALASKA!!
ALASKA!!
the only two people awake at this fucking hour
I won't remember this in the morning
at least I wrote it all down
Well it chewed us up and spat us out
Stumbling into daylight
And we learned what dreams are all about
Let us not pretend
I swallowed everything you said
A constant stream of poison
And the blindest visions filled my head
Rejoicing in the dark
And when my spirit flies
I still touch the stars
And when my spirit flies
I know it won't last
Well I've drowned in every shade of blue
Now I know that it's all over
And there's nothing I can say or do
To rearrange the past
For one brief moment in that time
We caught a glimpse of freedom
And I will be dissatisfied
Until I'm there again
And when my spirit flies
I still touch the stars
And when my spirit flies
I know it won't last
Step outside you can almost see an Alaskan sunrise
Like a veil it will lift your consciousness over again
There were times when I lost all touch with the world and its sorrows
In the end only doubt and wasted emotion remain
Well it chewed us up and spat us out
Stumbling into daylight
And we learned what dreams are all about
Let us not pretend
And when my spirit flies
I still touch the stars
And when my spirit flies
Remember I painted pictures of you
And I never found my way out
I spent a lifetime of dreams in the fields of your eyes
Lay me down when the rain covers you
And I'm afraid of the emptiness holding my thoughts
I see blue I see grey all the while
And when the night comes again I'll hold my hands to the skies
I've got a dream of home I've got a dream of home
And when the winter comes calling turn my face to the wind
I've got a dream of home I've got a dream
Of Alaska
Your name is whispered with the breath of my soul
In a hope that I'll never let fade
Between the mist on the waves and the blue of the sky
I threw a rose to the sea in your name
Now listen
Somewhere tonight there are tears on the wind
Are they yours are they mine I don't know
I'm crying out to the sky
I hope you're with me tonight
I've got a dream of home I've got a dream of home
And now the eatrh is left wanting
Turn my face to the wind
I've got a dream of home I've got a dream
Of Alaska
All through my life I stood tall as the sky
Hold to the things that I knew were so real
All I could feel
Strange how it goes how it comes to an end
Lord take your hand
Alaska

Welcome to the world of the northern hemisphere
Greet the winds of this heavenly frontier
Water pure as the blood of Mary's son
Cast your fears to the northern lights above
Take the time, pull this splinter from your eye
View her tears as they're falling from the sky
Virgin child, on the verge of great demise
From the hands of the ruthless human kind
Chorus:
Don't tarnish this silver realm
Don't rain on her golden dreams
Don't lie to these open arms
Then wake up to find she's gone and won't be home again
Twilight is the time, vibrant colors paint the sky
Across the mountains, capped with snow and whipped-creamed clouds
The wind, she sings in a whisper soft and mild
Coaxed to sleep all the children of the land
Stand in awe as you're drifting off the shore
Watching glaciers cast their elders to the sea
A winter's rain cools the fever from your soul
Bringing peace to your spirit as it soars
Our ways have turned the world around
Split the chain and broke it down
She's drowning in the dark
Goodbye to the love of the land that graced our lives
Come corporations, watch the smoke infect the skies
Oil, it stains the beaches once alive
Test your conscience, test your will to pull the line
I'm in love with the Hawthorn
Sure I like the Birch
I need a hand, a volunteer
Why does the
Sycamore mean so much?
Do you dream of a cold Alaska?
Better wrap up warm tonight
All I know is we're in a blue time
Where the land is snow drop white
You were such a pretty one
You had a kid
Did you have any idea
Of the damage you did
I'm in love with the Hawthorn
Sure I like the Birch
I need a hand, a volunteer
Why does the
Sycamore mean so much?
Is this the day that loneliness
Takes a hold of me?
I've been stupid, unkind
They say it's ornamental
But it's pretty real to me
It's just experimental
But I think I disagree
It might be accidental
Slippery as the wind
And it was once a circle
Now it's getting thin
(Chorus)
Used to be cheap love song
Satellite as it falls in alaska
Silver moon it's close at hand
Satellite as it falls in alaska
Message is message was
Shadows in the trees
Growing much faster
Silver moon it's close at hand
Satellite as it falls in alaska
It's artificial water
Splashin? all around
And though you might be sinking
You can never drown
Alaska - Cactus
Goin’ to Alaska
Where the water runs clear as glass
The home of the penguin,
The walrus and Aurora Borealas--oh yes
See my baby's heart is frozen
She just don’t treat me nice
I’m gonna search out Santa Clause and ask his advice
When I get up to Alaska maybe someone there‘ll treat me right
I will build me an igloo live alone in my dome of blues
Buy me a low-mileage dogsled and some alligator snow shoes
I hear six months a year you get night time all day
I had to practice my harp to keep the polar bears away
Way up in alaska where the whales and the eskimos play
(guitar solo)
If she treated me better man I'd be warm right now
But my soul's condemned to shivers 'cause she thinks I'm running around
So I sit here cryin' tears they freeze on my face
If it gets any colder I’ll be frozen in place
In rock hard Alaska you’ll gonna be my home
Way up here to alaska y'know the ground here is solid ice
Way up here to alaska y'know the ground here is solid ice
Had to leave my woman ‘cause her heart is so cold
When I get back from the north pole I will defrost her soul
I DON'T UNDERSTAND!
Sleeping Morese
Pleased to forge you
Survive
Burgers and something go by
They don't fuck if they don't know
Eyes closed
Secret glances
Who knows
ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ahhahh-ahhhh-ah
To build a fire isn't always easy
In a storm but you can try
Just when I was thinking what's an eskimo to do
Something in the fog says I can find my way with you
The walls are white
The room feels bigger than is
On into the night
The wind will be whistling a tune
Just when I was thinking what's an eskimo to do
Something in the fog says I can find my way with you
Sun in my alaska
Sun in my alaska
Time to go outside
Time to read the writing on the wall
Facing up to this
I kiss the light
Colder than a polar bear this much is true
Just when I was thinking what's an eskimo to do
The ultimate error: war
The total error: war
All empires' rhythm: war
Poor human wretch
He is a tiny slimy worm
Why do we need a rosy old
Statesman's smile
While he's terrorizing the crowd
Why do we stumble into games
Of deceit
Of hatred and smiles
Don't you lie
(We're) hanging hollow between
To Barrow (x4)
There are no witnesses here
He can come closer
No one really knows me here
Allowing him inside of me
Night will come
And I come with it
Asking me to run away with him
To Barrow (x2)
It's the thought of letting go
And the hell it will provide
That enables me to stay right here
Choking on these lies (x2)
To Barrow (x4)
There are no witnesses here
Let us go deeper
No one really knows us here
Allowing us INSIDE
Night will come
And we come with it
Asking anyone to run away with us
To Barrow (x4)
Night will come
Paper cuts leave trails
A good distraction
Is what I got to.
I've got this corner window
I've got five days of winter this routine whitewall
It takes all this, all this
Drive, drive and color
Drive, drive and color
Paper always fails
to give protection against the killing of days
And it's you and you and you and you and you,
you take all this, all this time, this time.
It's alright... Stay in tonight.
I've got this corner window
I've got five days of winter this routine whitewall
It takes all this, all this drive, this drive
You take all this, all this time, this time,
this time, this time
(I've got this corner window
I've got five days of winter this routine whitewall
It takes all this, all this)
Time, time and color
I was on the road despite the holiday
The winter green day dream softly colliding
It took all my headaches away
When did I arrive?
I don't recall ever leaving Alaska
Why do I hate the dark when I'm alone?
I was on my way to a brighter day
I'm still chasing around
But somehow I believe that this is home
It's so good to be home
I was on the ground
When I recalled the day
That my discomposure left me forever
It swept all my troubles away
When did I arrive
I don't recall ever leaving Alaska
Why do I hate the dark when I'm alone?
I was on my way to a brighter day
I'm still chasing around
But somehow I believe that this is home
Rip the sheets off cold ice again
Wolf at the door
Can I stand
A dog's life here for one day more
Close my eyes imagine somewhere
So far away
Silversand
And azure Carribean Sea
Sick of solitary holidays
Cause I never get away from here
I listen to the water drip down
In to the cell
Run amok
If I survive this living hell
Holding up this cold calaboose
C A P T I V I T Y
Even takes
My lucid thoughts away from me
TIME TO KILL
going nowhere
KILLING TIME
staying where there's...
TIME TO KILL
going nowhere
KILLING TIME
