Hendon Park is a 12 hectare London suburban park situated 7 miles (11 km) north west of Charing Cross. It borders the Northern line, and Hendon Park and Northern line Railway Cutting are a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation.
Hendon Park was part of a medieval estate known as the Steps Fields and owned by the Goodyer family. From 1868 till 1903 it was owned by the Kemp family when Hendon Council opened the park to the public.
The borough of Hendon became part of the larger London Borough of Barnet in April 1965. The park has a Holocaust Memorial Garden, which contains a pond, many plants and is enclosed by large hedges. The Children’s Millennium Wood planted in 2000 is a native tree and grassland area, which will provide a good habitat for birds when it matures. The rest of the park is mainly informal parkland, with mown grass and mature trees, especially London plane and lime. It is a good spot for watching pipistrelle bats on a summer evening.
The landscape includes one of the largest specimens of Acer palmatum in London. Many mature trees survive from the original planting, despite damage caused by the Great Storm of 1987 during which many trees were uprooted and destroyed.

Hendon is a London suburb in the Borough of Barnet, 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Charing Cross. Hendon was an ancient parish in the county of Middlesex and has been part of Greater London since 1965. Hendon had a population of 52,972 in 2011 and includes the Hendon, Hendon West and Colindale wards.
Hendon was historically a civil parish in the county of Middlesex. The manor is described in Domesday (1087), but the name 'Hendun' – meaning 'at the highest hill' – is of earlier origin. Evidence of Roman settlement was discovered by members of the Hendon and District Archaeological Society and others; an urn burial of a headless child was found in Sunny Hill Park. The Midland Railway and the Great Northern Railways were built through Hendon in the 1860s. The underground (Northern line) arrived at Golders Green to the south in 1907, the line being extended to Hendon Central, Colindale and Edgware in 1923/24.
A park is an area of natural, semi-natural, or planted space set aside for human enjoyment and recreation or for the protection of wildlife or natural habitats. It may consist of grassy areas, rocks, soil, and trees, but may also contain buildings and other artifacts such as monuments, fountains or playground structures. In North America, many parks have fields for playing sports such as soccer, baseball and football, and paved areas for games such as basketball. Many parks have trails for walking, biking and other activities. Some parks are built adjacent to bodies of water or watercourses, and these parks may comprise a beach or boat dock area. Often, the smallest parks are in urban areas, where a park may take up only a city block or less. Urban parks often have benches for sitting and they may contain picnic tables and barbecue grills. Parks have differing rules regarding whether dogs can be brought into the park: some parks prohibit dogs; some parks allow them with restrictions (e.g., use of a leash); and some parks, which may be called "dog parks," permit dogs to run off-leash.
North York is a former municipality in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Geographically, it comprises the central part of the northern section of Toronto. As of the 2011 Census, it had a population of 655,913. The official 2001 census count was 608,288. Until 1998, it was the second-largest of six municipalities that comprised another larger municipality called Metropolitan Toronto. The previous year, the provincial Government of Ontario passed legislation to merge these municipalities into a single, new amalgamated City of Toronto. North York is one of the most diverse areas of Toronto, as it contains some of the most affluent areas of the city (The Bridle Path, Hogg's Hollow, York Mills, Willowdale, Bayview Village) and some of the poorest (Jane and Finch, Flemingdon Park, Lawrence Heights).
The Township of North York was formed on June 13, 1922 out of the rural part of the Township of York. The rapidly urbanizing parts of the township remained in that township. As North York became more urbanized, it became the Borough of North York in 1967, and then on February 14, 1979, the City of North York. To commemorate receiving its city charter on St. Valentine's Day, the city's corporate slogan was "The City with Heart". It now forms the largest part of the area served by the "North York Community Council", a committee of Toronto City Council.

In this episode I give you my "thumbs up" for a great buying opportunity in this market today. Condos are too small, freehold homes are too expensive so condo towns are the perfect compromise in today's market. Still very affordable in and around the half million dollar mark in a premium grade A location. Selling by "Assignment" currently but it could pop in price in 2016 once units finish late spring. The Swamp Lilies asked Abandoned Ships to turn them into puppets for their gig at the Sculpture Garden in City Park, opening up for a screening of The Muppet Movie. Towards the end of their set, The Swamp Lilies "wish" they could be puppets, conjuring up both a Wish puppet and a Swamp Lily puppet. As the Swamp Lily chases its Wish, the band transforms into human shadows, then shadow puppets, then 3D puppets. However, once they are puppets, the boys in the band "hope" they can return to just being themselves. The London (underground tube) Northern Line was closed from Edgware to Camden Town on Sunday 6th April 2014 due to engineering works - so as a rare treat my good friend Kelly and I were lucky enough to enjoy a front seat, top deck bus ride on a beautiful spring day just when the trees had just started to bloom with wonderful flowers. The bus journey starts at Hendon Central Station and then calls at: Brent Cross Golders Green Hampstead Belsize Park Chalk Farm Camden Town and ending at Mornington Crescent Station (Note: that Camden Town Station is open for interchange & exit only on Sundays' between 13:00 to 17:30 hours otherwise the bus would have ordinarily terminated here).
